Thanks from Japan. My local garage wants me to pay $900 to replace both lower arms. Great tutorial, it will help me save money.

Thank you very much buddy, easy to see how that's done...great tutorial. Local garage wants £200 plus parts. Reckon I'll have it done in a couple of hours tops.

    Thank you for the video...
Getting the new pin in was very hard... Hitting it with a hammer didn't work...
So I used the car jack to push it in...

Yup. If you think that's fun, rear discs on certain models is a right hoot.

In case anyone else is wondering, the two bolts holding the control arm on were External Torx E18 on my 2012 Fiat Sport. I had to go all over town to find the socket for those!! As some recommended in the comments I used a Jack to get the car about to ride height before tightening the ball joints.

It isn't necessary to remove the front bumper completely. You can cheat enough room to get to the bolts that attach to the part that goes between the front subframe and the front bumper crash bar. It would make sense to remove the bumper if both lower control arms are being replaced at the same time. There's more than one way to skin the proverbial cat.

I have to do this job today on my Daughter's 500. I have an Angle Grinder and Cutting Discs ready to cut the bottom skin out of those poxy little sections . . .

Didn't need to get brutal with it in the end. Someone's obviously been in there before, they'd cut away a piece of the lower Plastic section to get to the lower two Bolts on the R/H side, so I just did the same on the Left.
I also popped the Grill out, you can reach the upper Bolts through there.
I also had to take the Two Bolts out that hold the Washer Bottle in place, so the R/H Box Section can be pivoted into the Wheel Arch area to get it out.
Still a pig of a job, but nowhere near as bad as stripping the whole front end off.

I noticed that you don't grease any of the bolts when putting it all back together I've got to do this on my daughter's ka it looks time consuming how long did it take you to repair great video ps I wonder wot it would cost at a garage to do this job

Thank you for watching. It take 2 hours to do arms at both sides. Agree with you. I have to use tread lock for bolts , when putting it bak

Does anyone know the torque settings for the crash bar strut ? ua-cam.com/video/KEoU_7AeaG8/v-deo.html the 2 bolts that come up from below/bottom...the smaller one that comes in from the side from the side and the 4 front bolts that hold the cross crash bar that goes across the front of the car, thanks in advance

Do you really need to take out all those parts to get into the control arm?🤔

It’s a disaster the way you replaced the lower arm. You didn’t even preload the spring to normal ride height before you tighten the bolts of the arm. Very soon your rubber bushings will be damaged. Good luck .

Looks like it sits in only one place to me due to the bolt notch?

Anthony, I have followed his way of replacing the front wishbones on my partners car a few months ago and now they have started to creak and squeak especially with dry weather. could this be because i didn't jack up the wishbone before tightening the bolts? i have a feeling i will need to be replacing the arms again.

Its only the front horizontal bush that needs the pre-load on the spring applying before tightening, but still a valid point. Its also what i did so that the bush is set in the correct position when driving.

Both bushings need tightened when vehicle has tires on it and ride height. He did NOT preload the bushings
