Brilliant stuff,...as you mentioned it was originally green. Have used this trim and bumper, product for a years . On my Ford KA , the bumbers and trim look new after Using it.........that's for the video
Looks great going on but wait till it rains leaves water streak marks and clings on dust ....if you apply this very minimal and wipe off extra well....otherwise will leave blemishes after rain
Top Tip for opening the seal when the bottle is new …. Unscrew the lid and take the lid off then remove the plastic seal with the lid off. Hope this helps.
Best to use a sponge to apply the dressing,, it will spread further, no static, and you won't use anywhere near as much , sorry should of said I'm an ex valeter and always used Autoglym
Awesome! Thanks dude! Someone suggested using a soft bristle brush so have been using that recently, but will definitely give the sponge a try as it ruins any brush it comes near 😂👍🏻
I thought I put another comment on I ordered this product from Ebay .. my mokka lots of plastic. Anyway give it a go I have tried all sorts of magic plastic renivating products But wow definitely say this is the best I have used Some of the plastic I had to do twice but 100% Car looks brilliant ..👍
Yeah I saw the notification that you had posted but I couldn’t reply to it and it wasn’t showing in the feed! Great to hear, thanks for the feedback 👍🏻
I use a small sponge to apply on rear bumper trim gives a better application and easy to clear excess with no streaks with long runs along bumper with the sponge it applies better
😃👍🏻, someone commented that they apply it with a brush rather than a cloth, tried it and was super impressed with the result so now use a brush and use a cloth to remove the excess 👍🏻
Just had some bodyshop work done on my drivers side door and they needed to spray up to the rear arch to blend the paint in. I have black plastic trim around the rear arch and I noticed it looked a bit faded probably down to filler dust getting behind the masking. Was think of taking it to another bodyshop/detailer to get the arch restored but bought Autoglym Bumper and Trim gel instead...perfect finish...back to original lustre. Also works on matt black vinyl parts as well...totally awesome product. Some of my car cleaning tasks I use Autoglym, others I use Meguiar's.
Thanks for that! As I was reading I was sure you were going to say the trim was covered in overspray lol. I’d agree on AG but I tend to use turtle wax products over meguiars at the moment as they have some awesome products too 😃👍🏻
@@DaveRebuilds I see their stuff is now highly rated, I've bought some Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic & Graphene paste wax which I have yet to use, hoping to get some on before the winter. 👍
It really depends tbh, I’ve had it last a month or so in warmer/dryer conditions and a week in torrential Scottish rain lol. Most people have been saying 1-2 weeks on average tho. Tyre gel might be a good idea, or boot polish. I watched a video of someone using a heat gun to bring the oils out from deeper in the trim but haven’t tried it myself as yet
Not sure about the availabilty in the USA but in Canada the Department Store "Canadian Tire" carries most of the Autpglym products and in fact I bought some just a few hours ago. I "believe" that Canadian Tire has store in some areas of the USA but not positive about that. I use many of the Autoglym Products but in the past I have used another product on the plastic trim. That product is Turtle Wax Ice which is a synthetic auto paint "wax". It works well on plastic trim but is more noteworthy because it is for the paintwork but doesn't leave a "haze" if it gets on plastic or glass. This product looks better as far as ese of application ( the plastic "honeycomb" grill looks like a bit of a nightmare) but I found Turtle wax Ice lasted through a few washes and up to about a month or 2.
@@DaveRebuilds You know what? I'll have to check if they still make Turtlewax Ice. I bought several bottles off of a friend who had ordered on Amazom and got a box full instead of one bottle. That was about 6 years ago so I haven't looked for it since and still have all but 1 bottle left.
@@DaveRebuilds If you use the Autoglym then let it cure overnight preferably, then apply the turtle wax over as a topper will last a lot longer. I use the turtle wax seal and shine only because it has specific UV protection, but the ice would work as well. Give it a try.
Will start to fade in 2-3 weeks & leaves water staining quite quickly i have'nt found any of many brands that work as well as the old version of back to black which was very good
Wes sorry dude, totally forgot to get back to you! Well...it last about 2 weeks before the trim was back to how it looked before, but I think with multiple coats or using each time you wash, it would build up and then not need applying as often. It’s super easy to apply though so would only add maybe 5-10mins to a weekly wash 👍🏻
Hi Dave, my Mercedes has a similar honeycomb style front grille. Did you try and use the product in all the detailed holes of the grille? (Hope that makes sense) or just use it on thr outler edge?
Yeah I agree! The previous formula was better, but this stuff is still pretty good, as long as you remove all the excess👍🏻. It does stink of marzipan tho 😂😂
Totally agree with that about ceramic coatings! Turtle wax new trim restorer is really good tho and lasts a long time (about 2 months so far) and it’s easier to apply and use than a ceramic if your not confident or new to car detailing 👍🏻
Thanks dude, will take that on board, In my more recent videos I have been reducing the sound way down or off completely at the talking bits. Thanks for the feedback👍🏻, always happy for it as it makes me better when editing 👍🏻
@DaveRebuilds lasts a long time but costs double money, then auto glym for small bottles in the UK, I think only amazon is around £25 in prime. Anyway, Auto glum does the job good 👍 👌
Yeah I’ve found I get slightly better luck when applying with a brush rather than a cloth if that helps at all? But it’s def not a permanent fix for greyed plastics! A ceramic trim coating would be better (or just respray them black lol)
i bought this product a bit back to get the haze off my trim, and i can agree. This stuff is magic in a bottle.

To show how long it lasted? No, but I could do if that’s of interest?

Hi Dave, my Mercedes has a similar honeycomb style front grille. Did you try and use the product in all the detailed holes of the grille? (Hope that makes sense) or just use it on thr outler edge?
Lol yeah that makes sense, I found using a small detail brush does the trick, or a cotton bud but that takes for ever (don’t ask me how I know lol)
I preferred the previous formulation. This stuff smells like maripan, is as sticky as Hell and attracts flies!
Yeah I agree! The previous formula was better, but this stuff is still pretty good, as long as you remove all the excess👍🏻. It does stink of marzipan tho 😂😂
