    The white grout with those tiles really makes it pop, very nice choice and it looks great.

    Thank you for the video. I love that you make it short and concise and easy to follow. I'll be attempting to tile 3 bathroom floors in a remodel and will be using your video as a guide.

    I'm working on my small 5 ft X 9ft bathroom floor, and I watched a lot youtubes as I go along each step. You make it simple but it took me a lot of time and very messy on those grout layer and tiles. I'm now working on my spacing grout. Nothing easy to me even though I thought this step get easier. I can't wait to see the outcome.

    • @MakeItNowchannel
      @MakeItNowchannel  6 років тому

      Yeah it’s a mess but the outcome is totally worth it. Good luck!

    Really like this. Well done! I see the artist/perfectionist. Only if all professionals put that much effort into their work.

    looks great. i have done similar colours before and the white grout gets dirty fast. be prepared to clean the grout frequently.. or none at all like myself and suddenly you have brown grout.

    What concerns me a bit is that you missed aplying any kind of waterproofing before tiling. There are variety of membranes on the market which could be advised for this purpose, but for me Mapelastic worked the best. Not sure whether it is available in US, but there are some replacements for sure. I would delibarate whether it is necessary on concrete floor but would not skip it when there is plywood underneath. Also you might use epoxy grout, which is a bit more tricky to apply, but it is completely water and stain proof. From my personal experience I must say that the cement grouts, even impregnated, collect a lot of dirt during time which can hardly be removed. Hope this issues will not affect you - and - enjoy your bathroom! :)

    HardieBacker requires screws or nails to be set at a maximum of 8" apart and all seams are to be taped to prevent seam cracks telegraphing through the tile in the future. If you took the time to read and follow the instructions on the bag of thin set then please do so for the other products you're using so you can get the best result possible.

    You should have added a mesh tape to all the seams of the cement board and never use nails to secure the cement board as they are prone to pulling out and cracking tiles and joints . always use a coated screw.

    What is the purpose of the plywood and the backer board instead of just going straight onto the slab?
