- I show how to tile a bathroom floor. This is part of my small bathroom remodel project and floor tiling is one of the biggest bang for your buck DIY projects you can do in a bathroom. It totally changes the look and feel and in a small bath like mine, installing large format tiles really makes the room feel bigger. #bathroom #remodel #tiling sponsored by ridgid

A textbook example of how to produce a DIY video. Well done!
To avoid stubborn grout haze, wipe the haze 1-2 hours after grouting, that way the grout is hard enough that you won’t cause any damage and the haze comes off really easily.
This man obviously has experience in this trade
Those floor levelers you use are literally the BEST way to pull or push your tiles to have a perfect level floor. Love the floor Brad.
Thank you, guys!
Thanks so much for the great video! Your clear description makes me think I could do this myself. And thanks for NOT adding loud, head-banging music while you're talking and when you're not ... not sure why people who do tutorials think they need music to fill the background. If I want to go to a rock concert, I don't click on a home improvement video!
🤣 I wish I had this video 2 years ago when I incorrectly laid tile with other videos as guidance! Great job man! Very well done and explained!
This is an excellent tutorial video- thorough yet to-the-point, and the work is done carefully and without cutting corners. I'll be updating the flooring in my basement and the adjoining bathroom so this is super helpful! Thanks so much for sharing!
Im remodeling my old tiny bathroom by myself and it's my first time ever taking on any construction project. Your video was not only helpful but super motivating!!! Thank you so much!!
Hey! How did the remodel go? Just about to start my first tiny bathroom remodel myself and would love any tips or advice you have!
Love that this is a quick, packed full of information, video. Hoping you have done one with the other parts of the bathroom. Thanks very much
As a professional tile installer I must say you did an awesome job explaining things and actually doing it correctly. Would have done a few things different but over all great video! Keep it up!
I'm a little amazed 😀. Was waiting to get kit up for something I did wrong 😂😂😂
@@Fixthisbuildthatonly thing I saw was speading of the thinset but that just takes time to get used to. Again great work!
Only thing I would change is adding more water to the mortar, both on the ditra(subfloor sucks up a lot of moisture) and the floor install(easier to work with).
I don't know what grout was used , but that was too dry to me. I wonder if it didn't crack. Dark thinset for light-white tile ? hmm. Yeah that mortar was dry for sure. Overall clean job.
I plan on doing a lot of work to my house starting at the beginning of the year. Really appreciated this video! It makes tile seem much less intimidating.
Tiles look awesome to do.
Thank you, Brad, for this helpful instructional video. I appreciate the candid advice and practical tips you sprinkle throughout the recap of your own successful DIY project. The pace is just right for a step-by-step tutorial video, and your self-effacing presentation style makes it a pleasure to watch. Your video is a nice complement to the Schluter-System North America company's own product information and how-to videos, which are also published on UA-cam.
There is nothing more satisfying than laying tile and having it all come together. Nicely done 👌
Omgosh the spacer things are amazing makes me want to tile our floor just to try them finish bathroom looks so nice . Love the fact you say if you had to do it again, all the bits you would do differently. Take care 😉
Great job ! Look`s really good. The spacers did 20% of the work(i love them!) Keep up the good work !
I'm about to do my bathroom and found your video to be so helpful. I can see myself rewinding and listening to each step. Great clear instructions and enjoyed watching it . Thanks
Thank you for the video!! This is definitely going to help me! I was also trying to remember what the orange floor stuff was! I knew it was Ditra but couldn't for the life of me remember the name! Thank you so much!!!
Great video Brad! You made laying the tiles look easy ( I know its not). I do like the tips you added to assist with remodels like this. Thanks again for posting!
I totally agree. 👍
Marrissa
Thank you for all the info on product to help make tiling easier. My husband and I are DIYing our bath with the exact tile you used so we are running down to our local HDstore to get some of the amazing levelers for the tile before we thinset. Thank you again.
Hey mister...really like the way you’re confidence comes across in you’re public speaking. Pretty cool how you didn’t over emphasize the way you work and industry standards. Great vid, it’ll help lots of people.
Perfect. I was debating using 12x24 tiles in a small bathroom and this video sealed the deal for me.
Thank you...Great job👍
this video its really helpful for me.💖 As i am now on the process of building my dream house.
Great Video. Though, it's my understanding that it is highly recommended to dampen the subfloor with a sponge, before applying thin-set-mortar, to prevent the moisture from being sucked out of the mortar before it dries..
Very delightful to watch. It helps that you have all the cutting and drilling tools needed to do such amazing work.
Hey Brad, Thank You for these DIY’s on flooring❤. I forwarded your tutorials to my hubby for my honey to do list or when he finds his round to it. Lol 😅 we have a lot to do. We have a 5bed, 3 bath that is back to the past 1970’s so no explanation needed. Our kitchen drawers are falling apart and can seem overwhelming at times. Your tutorials are clear and easy to understand and to follow. God bless.
That tile looks absolutely awesome! Love the tips in there and it makes the whole process seem much more achievable. Will definitely keep in mind when we inevitably redo one of our bathrooms.
Very nice work!! Thank you for sharing with us all those great tips! Peace and good fortune!!!
love those corner levellers!!! genius!!
That bathroom and floor grout was awesome. Great video!💯😀❤❤❤
Great 👍🏻 video great job thanks helps me to do my first tile work Att my sister house blessings and thanks again
Great video Brad. Just in time....I have 300 sqft to put down and I definitely gabbed some helping tips.
Those Ridgid tools are the bomb. Have fun with it 💪💪
The mortar should be combed in straight lines
Oh my gosh! That looks amazing. It looks so seamless!
Thanks Mate. I have a small home improvement business and tiling is the last thing that intimidates met. I like things done right so I am pleased and so is the homeowner. As you note, tile is one of those easy DIY projects that delivers the most bang for your buck. But if it goes sideways, yuck! I found your video very helpful! Really like how you planned the layout, numbered the tiles, and then set your door tiles first! Brilliant. Thanks for the great tips!
I'm literally right in the middle of my bathroom remodel. I'm having to move plumbing around a bit and expanding the room but this is going to come in handy when tiling comes. Thanks man!
Good luck with the reno!
"They didn't install it correctly......It shouldn't come up this easy"
I've heard this on a couple of videos I've watched about remodeling. To me they are installed perfectly!
They are currently holding just the way they should but if you want to tear it up, it comes up easily.
Sounds like a win, win to me.
Hahaha, good point. I definitely liked it 😀
Big Mike is talking Fair enough. haha
I'm thinking the same thing. Things around the house should be easy to remove and replace instead of having to tear it all down and demolish it.
builders never think about the future where someone will want to change things, good luck future tiler getting that floor up
Proud new home owner here and my first project is my half bath down stairs. This video really helped. Thanks for the tips! Subbed!
THANK YOU FOR THIS AMMMMAAAZING VIDEO!!!!! One of few videos that actually show the process and the products
That was helpful, Ive never done floor tile before and didn't know you were supposed to butter them. Thx.
You don't have to on square tiles but on larger rectangular ones it is helpful because it's harder to get the mortar even across the larger plane and buttering them gives you more error room when setting them to be level.
How to tile a small bathroom using 10k worth set of tools
@Millennium Man And if you're just doing a relatively small job a $100 tile saw will get you through several of those. Way better than scoring and breaking imo.
@@GardenofWar2 Thanks for the info.
Nice job!! Looks GREAT!👍👍👍
I wish I had seen the Rigid leveling product 4 days ago!
I JUST installed 12 X 24 tiles in my parents bathroom. Turned out OK, but not as nice and even as your project.
Live & learn.
I learned!
Thanks,
TII
Your videos are AWESOME. I was really nervous about doing my first bathroom but after watching this video I think I can handle it!
Love this thank you. I’m preparing to do my first tile job next week!
Just got started with my FIRST time owning a home totally gonna use alot of the information I learn here!!!!!!
Good for you! It's fun, puttering around your very own place and making things YOURS!
Wow Brad! That floor is gorgeous! Nice work!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Most detailed video I've seen for tiling. Great job!
I'm about to do my entire downstairs (open floor plan) this was a huge help for someone never doing tile before. I'm excited to see how it turns out.
Hello I just got a labouring job renovating bathrooms I start in a few days thanks for the tips
Nice work, just on tile floor grout i'm a fan of a darker colour because in time that's going to not look dirty as white gets.
Probably the best fundamentals video for small bathroom tiling on the web. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub 👍 👍
thank you for giving a clear and concise explanation of what you're doing! you obviously know what you're doing. i also appreciate your friendliness! you seem like a great personable dude and i'm happy to subscribe and watch through ads for your channel. keep it up man, and God bless!
You made it look easy and the floor looks great!
Thanks for the tip on using SketchUp for planning your tile layout. I’m doing a herringbone pattern in an non-symmetrical bathroom and this saved me a ton of time in planning!
WOW!!! That looks awesome... great job and great video... thank you
Thank you!! Seeing this just in time for our small bath redo of the tile floor.
Awesome video and the tempo is good. Showed all the steps but quickly good job
Looks fantastic Brad!
thanks! Wait until you see the whole room!
Hi I'god
good to see the ditrimatt on the original floor still holding up and doing its job
Man looks impeccable! From the laying of the tiles to the editing of the video, amazing job.
That floor came out great. Some really nice ridgid tools in there.
Looking good Brad!
thanks, Jonathan!
Hello my name is really what is yours
V
Me, never having done a home DIY project and not owning any tools, thinking I can watch a UA-cam video once and do this myself. 😮
You can!!!❤
Hello, Enjoyed the video, as I will be remodeling mt Bathroom later. Thanks!
Painters tape along the tub base and door thresholds/ casings. Helps
Great Video Brother. You really helped us out. Keep up the good work.
You have a fantastic method in explaining your process.
Spin doctor's are a life saver! I've been installing 48" porcelain with 9' ceilings! Whooey! My chiropractor always straighten me out.
nice job!!!!! would like to know more about the level max system
That bathroom looks brighter than any celeb teeth I've seen, nice work
Thanks for guiding us through the many pitfalls with residential tiling 🍻
COOL ! Thanks for this Brad. I am gaining confidence by the day to tackle my bathroom renovation.
Nice video
I think I subbed after your ''Wireless charging desk' video and I'm glad I did ! Super interesting !
Same here!
May be time for another desk video, Brad.
@@h4mmy753 I actually have one coming soon 😂😂😂
Fix This Build That Sweet! Can’t wait.
Same with me
Really appreciate this video. Just bought a house where the previous owner thought he was a handy man but more of a handy don't. My bathrooms have three layers, vinyl, tile, and another layer of tile. Going to try this out on the basement bathroom first before tackling the three layer bathrooms.
One of the best videos I've seen. Loved it!
You’re the man!!!!
hello, im about to tile. thanks for the content.
Hello!! I wanted to use a big tile like that in my hall bathroom only with more of a light tan going through it, but my husband thought it would make the room look smaller, I think yours turned out great! I may be taking my tile back to get the long ones I wanted.
even though it was 9 mins it was very succinct & and no excess talking, thank you
Hi, thank you for the great video, I have a question for you, how did you create the 1 degree slope required for the wet areas?
it was amazing, even my hired men can't do work like this. loved it man.
This whole process looks therapeutic.
Beautiful job God Bless you keep using your talent.
you made it look easy!!
Good job! I hate gluing tiles after I’ve glued most of my entire apartment with tiles.
hahaha, I bet! I was sick of it after this small bathroom
Wow ….. way to go. Thanks for making this look so easy. The narrative was helpful too.
Looks great and fully explains the work while apply... Excellent job!...👍
Great bathroom floor, i love it and i agree with you that kicking those red things off could be good,
and very therapeutic especially if you had a bad day ha ha ha. Well done it looks fantastic.
Barry (ENG)
Yeah, Barry! Too bad I didn't save them for a rainy day 😀
Good job, amazing.
thank you
Construction student from USM here, great stuff 😎
This is awesome! Thanks for the demo!
Try a suction cup to back butter and lay the big tile you might find that a more convenient way to go plus helps avoid mortar transfer
Always enjoy the great spirit of your uploads
You really nailed that Brad - well done!
Thanks, brother!
Awesome!! i'm going to attempt to do my bathroom floor with this exact tile. Thank you for the valuable information that you provide. Totally appreciate you!!
You're welcome!
Excellent video to prove I can't do it myself. thank you
Love how you showed two identical printed tiles as they'd look if you had accidentally placed them adjacent to each other - esp. using these large white tiles.. Which look fantastic. Absolutely awesome video - everything I want and need to see, hear, and know in a DIY video and nothing I don't. Liked and subscribed, thanks!
Very nice looking bathroom. I think the old would have looked better with wood out lines. . Didn't no about the Schluter- Ditra product never heard of it until now thank you for sharing . Only used on upper floor bathrooms I take it. That only makes sense. Oh yes I love my RIGID Tools that is all I use. Thanks again.
That's very nice work. Keep the great videos coming. Thank you.
Awesome video!! Thank you so much for sharing all of the info and tips to make the process easier.
Looks so easy..especially since you don't have to follow the same rules as those we got in Denmark..the way waterproofing is done here is quite different..more effective..but hard to get right if you're not used to do it..
Anyway cool video :)
7:29 Damn thats satisfying
Awesome presentation! Very easy to follow, thanks for making and sharing
Thanks Brad, great job. I have a similar bathroom to retile. Same style/look as your bathroom.
