Which of these two SUVs would you rather have in your garage?
Audi, simply because I want a car that is good for long comfortable road trips.
Love the BMW, but I am not the kind of guy that will be trying to throw the cars around corner and bends at high speed.
I enjoy a mellow and steady ride so therefore Audi.

Q5, at this segment it is is the most sensible, I would rather get the 530d for the money in BMW or even the X4, but damm this X3 looks so good, it's pretty tough choice imo
I drove both these SUVs on some fast but rough roads which had undulations, potholes, speed breakers and rumble strips. While the X3 struggled in these conditions, the Q5 was almost sublime in the way that it dispatched everything that was thrown at it. As a result I was able to achieve higher speeds with the Q5 on the same sections of road when driving the two cars back to back. Additionally, the Q5 also has the better quality interiors and back seat comfort. The back seats on the X3 are too upright and very hard, so long journeys would be quite uncomfortable for the rear seat occupants. The icing on the cake is also the 19 speaker B&O music system on the Q5 which was superior to the Harman system on the X3, although one would have to use high res WAV or FLAC files to get the best out of either of these systems. Loved the Brooklyn Grey colour though on the X3! Wish Audi offered their Quantum Grey colour from the S5!
The most disappointing thing on the Q5 is the tech inside the car. It’s generations old than the bmw. The screen in that Q5 looks so tacky, there’s no wireless CarPlay either nor a place to keep your phone! As far as driving quick on bad roads is concerned you’re only screwing up your suspension system in the long run. The Audi might be able to “take on the bad roads” but at what price?!

So, you've spent 20 minutes 'comparing' the two cars and telling us the obvious that BMW is sporty and Audi is relaxed. Also, it's amazing that you guys always find Skodas and VWs super sporty, but Audi is relaxed. 😂🙏

I love clean designs but this looks bland and dated.
The biggest factor working in favour of Q5 is the discounts it carries perennially. Even if x3 is slightly better, the discounts should be enough to sway a lot of buyers. That’s the reason the Q cars are now selling almost as well as the X despite BMW having a better aspirational value and a “driver’s car” bias in reviews.
In my personal opinion I find Audi cars to be best looking of the competition.
That is not to say that other cars look bad, I just simply prefer Audi's looks over others.
Audi cars are gorgeous...but looknat the X3 it's a beast... And bmw sedans are equally good-looking and more solid .

Audi is offering very good prices for q5. I was getting Audi q5 technology for 70 on road but booked x3 diesel for 78 on road. X3 is the best in segment as per today.
I chose the Volvo XC60 over these two..dont regret it one bit..far better equipped. Would have expected Evo India to have included it in this comparison too

I'm struggling to decide to choose Xc60 or Q5.
I'm worried about brand image xc60 lacks, after paying 80lacs , no one knows Volvo and someone would come to us and ask whether it's XUV900 from mahindra!?
.but AUDI has its own brand image.
I have tried the volvo too but its not as comfortable on bad roads, audi excels in that area.
Would appreciate it if you could let me know the speed of the X3 when you're cornering and pushing it around the bends. Thank you.
Review should not be limited to driving only but practicality, seats, interior quality in detail. Not even boot is shown in most of your reviews. I like your reviews but comparison should be in all aspects.

PS: The X3 is definitely a notch above in engineering, tech, performance and solidity. Never makes you think twice driving over a pothole at 100kph or through unpaved roads or through huge rainstroms. Audi is just more refined and chic. Too refined to make you feel confident as a tough driver.
Audi looks a decade old. There's just no comparison between those 2. Kinda sad innit?
Audi looks dated in front of the BMW. Also what's with the loud noise when Audi was taken over a speed breaker ? Just hope it was a pice of shooting equipment nd not something in the car itself.

A few more points could be added such as cost of ownership, maintenance and service network, spares parts availability, suspension system, mentioning about people's choice %% across the globe perhaps gives better suggestion to Indian customers. Umm okay. it's usually the technical and functional(practicality) feedback, don't see how this recorded review helping. Still you kept me engaged for whole review with 11min spent on Beemer of 19 min video.
If this segment suv , better choose for Diesel engines, reason : these are petrol Guzzlers, so diesel ones are more compassionate in mileage as well, and they provide better ride quality

X3. Tried the new Q5 Sline and sold it after 6 months and bougth the LCI X3 m sport , Test drive them before you buy and you will see what I mean. Q5 is not comfortable at all in UK road roads.
I could imagine roads in India is no better thaN THE UK roads.
A sane person knows that XC40 is better,will save money,has more features & safer..(p.s. until you’re a driving enthusiast)

Volvo XC60 will kill the Germans in terms of outer styling and inner luxury interior (also glc bcoz I think it's outdated). But in performance only BMW. Even if audi not also comes near. But Indians will choose audi because they will drive it daily and Indian roads are not too good for bmw. And I think beamer is also a fuel guzzler.
But it has the best driving dynamics and engine

The dash of the q5 got shaken pretty bad at 11:38, and quite visibly so.
you have tested a standard Q5 with standard suspension. You should have tried the Sline model to match the BMW. Sline suspension on the Q5 is so stiff and uncomfortable, you should be mentioning this stuff to the viewers so they are not misguided and then the Q5 you tested has 19 wheels while the BMW has 20" wheels. Q5 on 19 and standard suspension compared to BMW 20 on msport suspension. No! not a good comaprison. You should have tested the Q5 sline with 20 wheels to match them perfectly. I bet you the BMW will have a more pliant suspension
What's a spine suspension

Theres the premium plus variant abd the technology variant.
The technology variant has the better suspension
Audi cars don't justify their prices... Unless they are 1cr+

Q3 shares parts with vw cars, not q5 . Q5 is on a totally different platform. It’s silly that people hate on audi without actually realising that only their entry level cars share vw parts
But q5 is 12 lakhs cheaper than x3 , so its an another option as base model q5 is only 16 lakhs expensive than kodiaq l&k . One good thing is q5 has been given the rs245 engine and gearbox with 4 wheel drive which can be tuned to 310 bhp with just a software remap .
