We absolutly LOVE our x3 m40i, i have never owned a bmw before because a bmw was never really my thing. They have always had the snobby look that we just never cared for. Im super glad that when we were looking for a new suv we gave the bmw a chance. We are pleasently supprised at what you get for the money in comparison to audi, mercedes,land rover etc. We do not regret pur purchase one bit.
I have this car more than a year. Absolutely amazing machine. Before buy it, be considered: 1. Adaptive cruise control and rear seat heating are optional. No cooling option at all. 2. Kick-open function for tailgate is not as effective as advertised. I can’t open mine before some tries. Overall I love it.
Hey Ben. Really appreciate your videos man. I gotta tell you I've been researching a lot of SUVs in the 60-80k range and this one is really hard to pass up with everything you get.
Got mine about 4 weeks ago. Had to order it from the factory but that was fine. Same color (Tanzanite blue), same interior seat color, but intentionally opted for the 19" wheels due to the rough roads where I live. Yes, the ride is much firmer that my previous SUV (Audi Q5), but the handling and steering feel is stellar. Regarding the comment about gas mileage (10:35), mine is still not broken in yet (only have 1,000 miles on it), but I just got back from an 800 mile trip to Prescott Arizona, going 80+ MPH most of the way, and got 31mpg on the way home. Yes, that's three-one. Combined with the acceleration and handling, that's an incredible combination. Am waiting, however, for the seats to soften up a as they're a bit too firm for my butt. Overall, I'm very happy with this car.
I went for the 30i. Got it 3 weeks ago. I love it. The cabin sound insulation could be better, and I actually believe HI-FI packet (not the H&K option) got worse in quality compared to f30. AC vents are also kind of an elephant in the room, with their low level being actually the only one still acceptable for me.

Many differences between this and the Audi SQ5. Audi is more of a luxury vehicle experience. Many quality related glitches with the Audi (2021 model.) Numerous recalls with it as well. I had a 2017 BMW X1 that I ordered new and had zero problems with it for the 4 years of ownership. The X3 has a much better reliability rating than Audi. This was a good review.
Tested 2023 GLA 45 AMG that is a bit smaller on the outside, and 2023 X3M40i. AMG felt a bit faster and handles a bit better. It was cheaper, and you have an option for NO panoramic sun/moon BS. Bought it 45 days ago. Yesterday I drove 2024 X3M, and it was great, it had no stupid hole in the roof. I might trade my GLA45 for it....
So, I just bought one of these about three weeks ago. This engine is amazing. It’s a sledgehammer, however just like the M40i that you’re showing it does not have any side bolsters in the seats which makes zero sense to me. Any suggestions on how to upgr this engine is amazing. The seats soften up over time and with heated seats on it also expands into u more. I was upset at first and now I’m feeling better about the seat bolsters issue……
The lack of side bolsters is a chip shortage issue. You should get them when you upgrade to leather but if you stay with the sensatec seats you do not.
I can't make my decision between x3 m40i and grand cherokee summit reserve. Size doesn't matter, comfort, quickness and handling are the things matter to me.
My X5 40i with air suspension i wasnt happy with the suspension/ ride so i wouldnt spend extra for an X5 in pursuit of ride pleasure! Fortunately got rid of it post pandemic for a good price.
I presently have a M440i Gran coupe. Love it but may trade for the X3 or x4 m40i to get the more practical room. Not sure what to do. My wife has a 2023 X5 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@borghorsa1902 X5 is a more luxurious ride and interior. Motor is strong. Feels like more than 335 hp. We had a 21 X3 30i and that felt lighter and more nimble but the interior didn’t compare with the x5. Don’t have an X3 40i. I’m considering trading the m440i GC for one
I really considered one of these but every review I’ve heard said it has a stiff suspension and I don’t know that I could daily it. There is no reason that with an active suspension they couldn’t make an actual comfort mode. The X5 isn’t an option for me as it gets into 6 figures.
This is so much more reasonable than a Macan S . They want more for a base Macan with a 4 cylinder than this M40i in line 6 cylinder...smh lol incredible.
Get the coupe version - x4. All SUV's (glc, x3 etc look ugly. Boxy and boring). Why not get the coupe? body style more sexy and you only lose a bit of space on the vertical.

Brendan, I strongly urge you to speak more slowly. I could barely understand what you were saying during the first part of this video. Excellent review of one of my most disliked models of vehicles. I have owned BMWs since 1971 and I absolutely dislike SUVs. But after seeing your review I may have a change of mind. Thanks for your efforts.

Kick-open function is missing due to 'chips-bottle-neck'.BMW claims it would be re-shipped(in future...). At least in Europe..

If you’re in Europe you might have a OPF (particle filter), in this case you can only let modify the exhaust (middle part). I am in the same boat 😅

That was an option for cars made from March 2022 to March 2023, so it crossed over a manufacture year.

I traded in my M440 2 weeks ago for x3. It was a fantastic decision and I really loved my M440 a lot until I got the x3

I have one. Sport mode is definitely stiff but comfort mode is perfectly fine.
