These beach fishing rigs talked about in this video are mainly used for the inshore saltwater fishing from the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast Coast to the FL Keys, and across to Texas and the Gulf Coast.

She seems pretty knowledgeable. Why does the guy keep interrupting?.
Lmao
Love the high low and drop rig. I've been using the t-knot with mine
My wife's favorite is the Carolina rig. I like them too, but usually use a dropper rig because I can hop over to the fishing pier/bridge and the hook stays off the bottom (where the dreaded hardhead catfish like to lurk).
Catfish are the best tho!
@@chefeatsher I love freshwater catfish and I've heard that saltwater catfish taste similar. But saltwater hardhead catfish (and sailcats) have several hard spines and the entire fish (including the spines) have a thick coating of slimy stuff all over them that stings and causes the wound area to seriously swell up. I got skewered once through a middle finger which swelled up to twice its normal thickness and I couldn't bend it - I spent a whole week explaining to people that I wasn't flipping them off 🙄😂
In SC where this was recorded it’s illegal to keep any saltwater catfish. Saltwater Cats have a poisonous membrane on their fins that is actually quite dangerous. A guy I fished with in Siesta Key lost his hand because of an infection from a saltwater cat.
Always enjoy your uploads -
God bless and keep safe !
Loving the 1fish2fish apparel!!!
i learned more from 1 of your videos then 100s of other youtubers..... ty
Lucky guy. You have a beautiful partner that loves to fish!!! Does she have a sister ?😅
Super video! Moved to SC lower coast and love surf fishing. Your videos are helping me catch more fish. Thanks!
You two have helped me so much in my ocean fishing learning man thanks a mil!
Thank you! Very informative.
You guys are great. Very informative and easy to understand. Have never tried using Gulp in the surf but will do on my next trip to Assateague.
Awesome information!!! Thank you so much.
Friend’s good job on the videos. Thank you. Your Rigging videos are my favorite.
Thanks for all the tips. Been watching a lot of your videos. Headed to VA Beach today for a week and will be surf fishing for first time every day. Long time bass angler but new to saltwater
Great video, very useful information.
Great video with great info
great advice for newbies
Very helpful. This will be my first time Surf fishing and I don't want to waste my time. Thankyou for the info.
Good stuff! 👍
Great Job!!!!!! Loved It
Appreciate learning that Carolina rig = fish finder rig, had no clue. Appreciate all the tips as well as someone who's trying surf fishing for the first time.
Just caught a ~16” Florida Pompano this afternoon on a high low rig with fresh dead shrimp. East Central FL. Cheers.
Good info guys. Always watch ur stuff. As a fellow small time(me) fishing youtuber, I envy y'all and hope to achieve similar goals in youtube.
Great job guys😀
Great info! Thanks.
Just yesterday I caught flounders using the carolina rig, the single drop rig, and the knocker rig. Sometimes my bait wasn't in the water but for a few seconds.
Awesome video 💯
Great video. Like the way you guys explain your videos. Not like some UA-camrs that just trying to sell there products and no info at.
Hi low rig my go to. But I’m going to try the fish finder next time I go fishing.
Keep up the good work.
Watched the Video yesterday, Pretty cool to see you two work together ...Love the way you guys explain it.. I've been using the Carolina rig out here off the California coast Ventura Pier..And have caught all kinds of supper..I've also used the Jig head most my life with bait..
When I first started people thought I was nuts.. But it works..😎⚓🇺🇸🤙🍀
That's great to hear. I am going shore fishing in port huaneme this Saturday. What kind of bait are you using?
Great videos. Also good info . Tight lines
Good information. Thanks
You guys are awesome. Thank you for the info
Thank you!!
Great Video Thanks!
Thanks, I learned something new! Here on the south Jersey shore I’ve used the high low and fish finder. But never really knew (believe me I’m far from an expert on surf and pier fishing) about or considered the jig technique. Thanks again for teaching me something that I’m really looking forward to try. One rod to bait and wait. The jig method to keep me busy.
Excellent video, keep up with more
I was there october 6th. Fish of pier and south end pawleys island. But i fell in love watching the good ol boys surf fishing out front my condo in surfside. Coming back in may 2024 to surf fish as much as possible. Thansk fro tips.
Hi! Im learning shoreline fishing and didnt know the rig. Thank you for this. ❤
Fantastic video. Thank you for this.
Best video I've watched thank you!!!
Thanks for sharing! Going to try fish finder next time
Awesome video
NICE VIDEO 🎣💪🏾
Very good info thank you
Fantastic stuff. Thanks yall
Learned something new here too thanks yall
Great video ! Can’t believe this channel doesn’t have 1mil subscribers yet
thank you, appreciate your help.
Man tyty for the info just moved from Colorado to Florida and now I k ow how to hook it up thx again great video you guys are the 👌 👍 😍
Another vote for The fish finder rig for bait fishing. I find that the two way rigs or others get tangled to easy and can be super fussy especially with light line.
Nice beach and i like it👍👍👍
Thank you thank y’all
Thanks!
I dig the vid, and the jig head recommendation! The fish finder/ Carolina rig seems to be the most popular rig for bigger fish from the beach. And I think there’s good reason for that thought!
But I really like the jig head idea! In fact I think if you could a jig head with a fishbite launched a decent distance you could catch some really cool fish!
I’m thinking a 1-2oz jig head might be in order!
You guys are awesome
very informative ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I never knew that you could catch flounder in Florida good stuff
That slow retrieve in the surf is a killer technique, specially with that chartreuse tail lure. Innovation yields good results, thank you for the great informative video.
Thank you!!
awesome video
Great videos and very informative. When spin and jig fishing the surf during the summer months with a 7ft medium power, what is your line and leader set-up and weight recommendation?
Braid 20 to 30lb....with Fluoro leader 20lb generally...thats what i see most use
Fish finder is probably my go to rig .
I definitely want to be a member of ‘’you guys nation’’ 😎😎😎🎣🎣🎣
Been goin to obx for the last 2 yrs..learned every thing about beach fishin frm this channel.. almost drown in my kayak trin to get the bait out for sharks..but tht was my dumb ass thinking sit in kayaks cant sink.. good stuff👍
Where do you go at obx? I normally try to stay in Avon or Buxton. Might try camping down at cape Lookout this summer also
@@adamthomas4462 Avon.. luv it there
Do you recommend any different setups for the first week of October? Going to be in Nags Head for a week and want to do some surf and pier fishing. Love the videos! Thanks for making them!
A great variation of the hi low rig is the Mortician rig which I find is the best rig for surf fishing!
I use them all but it depends on what I'm golng after. But I would have to say the action rig is the jig or even the hair jig tipped with bait it presents a larger profile to the fish.I make my own hair jigs and if you want small fish for bait I tie pink deer hair on a 6 or 4 hook with piece of squid and load up.
The look on her face when he steps in to re-explain everything she just said 😂.
Makes my 10th Ugly Stick, both fresh water and salt water. Nothing better. Holds up to everything I catch.
High low rig is mine fav
Right on!!
Which one will work best when fishing an incoming tide and an outgoing tide ?
So for the high low drop rig, do I just cast it out and wait to feel a pull on it?
I only caught rays with fish finder rig. Not I expected, but good fights.
What a surprise. A fisherwoman!
Sure glad to see females going fishing. The sport is so much better than boyfriends. Good information, thank you
We guys discovered this a long time ago ;(
Needed. What do we use for rod reel and mainline
I like the pompano rig but I’m from Ohio I don’t get fish in the ocean much:)
Just getting into the salt fun. Just picked up a 9’ mh mainly for fish finding rig. Worried it’s too powerful for 3 oz weight. What are the pole powers and length for some of these rigs. Thanks in advance
What temps are not good to fish in the winter? Can I still catch fish in winters cold waters?
Awesome tips.. And special pretty fisherwoman
Really good video...thank y'all! When it comes to the hook, does it matter if it's a standard or octopus style circle hook? I'm trying to figure out the difference between the two styles.
Which pier in the background? Thanks for the videos. Learning as a new transplant to OBX.
VB Pier!
Is there a way you can setup your braided line so you can switch between fish finders and high/low rigs without having to build the rid each time you want to switch? Maybe use swivel snaps at the end of your braided line and hook the rig to that?
That's exactly correct 💯👍🤠
Would you use or can you use a jig head on a drop shot rig or high and low rig
Is there an alternative to the snap swivel on the fish finder rig for the weight? I don't have one and couldn't find any at Dick's today.
The alternative is putting the weight on and then a bead then tie on an ordinary swivel then the leader and hook
You guys you guys guys you😂
👋🏼Are you using braid and leader line or straight fluorocarbon or mono. Thank you
Do a viedo on rudee inlet
Would like details on how to tie each rig
Do you guys juice or smear scent attractors your plastics? I bought some new scent gels and haven’t tried it.
Yes we do!!
I have noticed a lot of those sinkers like the one pictured in the thumbnail for this video. It looks like lead poured into a clam shell. Where does everyone get them?
take a drink every time she says "you guys" 💀
Grew up in Newport News , be up north in Ohio since 81 , I come down to Va beach once a year around July or August , is fishing off the beach my best shot or off a pier , and using fresh bait or artificial bait , thanks , I hope to hear from ya’ll
Right on!!
What do I make my own liter out of?
if you using carolina rig, dont you need the bait to float?
Did you move to the obx?
What about cannonball rigs?
So just bring my cat fishing rods as they are?😂😂😂 No but seriously great info. Is there any vids on how y'all make your high low rigs?
Where are your swivels?!?
R yall located in the outer banks
Hello Madam thank you for your great simple two-stack dropper loop assembly. I wish you a happy new year. You are gorgeous never forget it.
Going to OBX in September
Would you recommend, rod, reel, line
Close to bass pro
Shimano Sienna 4000/5000 reel, 8-10’ MH/H rod, 20-30 braid with fluoro leader.
Price range and heavy use, light use, or just trying it out first?
@@ronaldbrunsvold5632 taking 4 rods, 2 7’, 2 9’
Largest reel 4500 series
Geoff, you have rod and reel covered. The 4500 is sufficient for 95% of catch from the beach or pier. A lighter reel on the 7’ rod is fine for close-in casting. Only issue may be getting salt water and sand into reels, in which case a salt water reel might be advisable. A Penn spinfisher VI, or Penn Slammer III are great for Saltwater. If just trying it out for first time, you could be careful and get by with a “freshwater “ reel. For the main line, 20 lb braid would be fine on the 4500 reel. Power Pro Spectra is a dependable braid line. A 30 lb monofilament will work for almost all your leader needs. Ande mono is OK for this.
@@ronaldbrunsvold5632 all reels are saltwater with exception of one. Most are braid, one mono. How much leader should I use? Kill devil hills surf casting. Plan on shrimp, fake bait and spinners. Fortunately, tackle shop is about a mile from where we are staying.
Thanks for your input.
How much is a fishing license in virginia
Really couldn't see the rigs , needed a better back drop. Eyes not what they use to be. But still good info.
