Jacob Gray - Anytime! I’m happy to hear the videos help. This is probably the most informative jetty I’ve put out yet. If you can’t find fish with one rig there’s usually another one that will get it done. The simple bait rig ALWAYS produces fish
Just moved to Florence, took my son fishing off the North Jetty today, no bites with clam, muscle, or 5 year old stinky sandworm...watched your great videos at 10pm, cant wait to get up at the crack of dawn to try some great techniques and rigs you taught me now...much appreciated.
Thank you so much🙏 it means a lot to me to get comments like this and some of the best motivation to keep at it 🎣 best of luck, there will be much more to come soon
I’ve been to the jetty three times and have been skunked each time. I am determined to learn the ways of the jetty though, and I hope these videos will help. Thanks for making them and sharing your knowledge.
@@IWorldLeader Last time I went out I stopped into the jetty store and picked up a couple of their wire high low rigs and some sand shrimp, fished for an hour or so and took home a kelp greenling. Still alot to learn, but at least I have had my first successful outing. Thanks!
jetty fishing can be the best on earth!!!! Hope you got it down catching a feeding frenzy early in the morning is one of the most fun things ive ever done
Glad to know it helped! I've only fished in Florida once and it was a blast! Hopefully I will be back on of these days. Thanks for watching and good luck out there
Thanks for watching. I always enjoy making videos like this and the responses from everyone reiterates why I make them. I made this video a couple years ago and plan on making another covering what I’ve learned since then. Good luck out there 🎣
Awesome tutorial, this video is super helpful. You’re enticing me to try the jetty once I’m experienced. Sorry you lost so much tackle demonstrating for us :(. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making these video.
This is how I have been running my rig for years with small circle hooks small small an iv got 19 in cab an 25 inch ling with them on 20 pound tess born an raised in Humboldt county like your vids thumbs up
Thank you Nick I went out jetty fishing a couple days ago on an opening day using one of your techniques and I scored some greenlings and rock bass you are amazing!
I turned on your video and am listening and I swear someone is using my reel. Sounds like my reel. Very professional how you explain. Thanks for sharing brother!!!
Wish I had watched this video before fishing the Nehalem jetty yesterday and getting skunked! I was fishing with the bare minimum of knowledge. I’ll just have to go out again with this new knowledge. You really are awesome man you make it look so easy
Tommy Gun Tommy - Thank You, haha ya I wish I had known some of this years ago. Every little bit helps. Good luck out there. Let me know which technique works best for you 🎣
Thanks for the video man! I just moved to the area about a year now and have only hit the rivers or Crabbing on 12th street I haven’t been jetty fishing before your videos. It’s only 20 mins to Barview jetty from my place, and Now I am addicted. Still learning everything and having trouble with leader lines, and getting on them fish. But it’s fishing and not catching! Hope they finish the Barview jetty, so I can explore more of it.
Awesome information dude! I love your videos. I’ve watched several on the tv so far and wanted to let you know I enjoy your content that’s getting me ready for our camping trip to Cape Disappointment that starts tomorrow. Wish me and the kiddos luck!
I just moved to the Newport area and am SO glad I found your channel!!! Thank you so much for this educational video! It’s so hard to learn how to fish in a new area especially never fishing anything but trout. Thank you again!
I have been watching UA-cam since it first came out and I have never giving a thumbs up or down ,never subscribed to anyone, but the time you put into this video and the actual care you take in wanting us to be better fisher men compelled me to make my first comment, awesome video,I am just about to start fishing on the Getty were I live in Dana Point ,and I have not fished in 20 years and your video was extremely helpful and easy to follow, thank you
Thank You! it means a lot to read a comment like that. I apologize for taking so long to respond. I try to keep up with responding to comments but with each video it is getting harder and harder. I really enjoyed making this video and would have never expected it to be watched by so many people. I was always stuck fishing with what i knew, and it was pretty limited, having options like this can really be a game changer. Thank you for the feedback! it's good to know this video is helping people get into jetty fishing as well as being a good refresher for those who have been taking some time off from the sport. Best of luck out there
Thanks sir, this video is very helpful. I’ve been passing by some jetty’s before and always wondered if I could fish there I didn’t know the fishing set ups.
Thank you. I wish I had known about some of these setups when I first started, would have saved me some time, gear and probably caught me more fish.let me know how it goes this weekend.. good luck!
I agree. I think my time spent fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass made it easy to take some of those same techniques and apply them to saltwater fishing. It’s a lot of fun
Absolutely perfect. I’m sitting in my trailer at the RV park getting ready to head down to the jetty. It will be my first time jetty fishing. Thanks for the great video!
I’ve been fishing on the jetty for two years now and I still come back to this video for tips. A solid video for beginners and experienced dudes looking for fishing wisdom! I appreciate you and your channel so much, dude. Any tips on night fishing? Me and my brother wanted to try it out this weekend
Got skunked at barview last week! But I am a total amateur! Fly fishing in the Colorado mountains is my background. I enjoyed every minute of it though, it’s beautiful out there. I’ll be out that way again, trying some of the tips you showed us. Thanks for that!
@Sandra Lee - I'm glad to know the information helps. I try to keep it simple since i know things can get overwhelming when you are trying to find info and figure out techniques. I wish UA-cam was around when i first started fishing :) it would have saved me a lot of time. Good luck out there. Feel free to ask me any questions along the way. I love helping people out.
Great video! One more tip on the worm weight, I always keep some tooth picks in my weight box to peg the weight under certain conditions. You do the rig just as you did, then poke the tooth pick into the hole in the weight nice and tight then break it off. You can then slide it tight to the hook or further up the leader depending on your conditions. Keep breathing
Great tutorial. Thanks bud. Ima bass guy but my boy wanted to surf and jetty fish. So now i need to master a new type of fishin. Joe Bustamante Panama City Beach
Going out to Long Beach for 8 days in a few weeks. This was a good scenic display of rigs for that area. Rig tying with a tabletop background is not as inviting as the backdrop of water and mountains on a clear day. Sorry about the tackle trickle in the stones. It was also inclusive of everything except a bobber for the riverside. Probably looking for something silver with that technique anyway. Great concise video. Thanks.
Thank you! I'm definitely going to try some of these techniques this weekend. I'll be fishing up by Jenner trying to go for a ling off the shore. This is a whole new ball game for me, having grown up fishing trout in the Siskiyou area. A lot more skin in the game for sure. Losing a rig hurts quite a bit more! I'm hoping to minimize the losses with these hook set ups. Thank you again!
Thanks man i'm glad it helps. Regardless of the location or species, i think these setups definitely help with getting an idea of how to approach the area you are fishing.. good luck out there!
I need some one on one training with all this fishing stuff lol, looks like a lot of fun fishing from a jetty, I live in Washington and think I'll be hitting up Westport to try it out, thanks for all the information you give out🤙
SUPER “addicted” to your channel brother! I’m hoping your chalk-talks on how to catch these slippery little tirds helps me become a “Jetty Master” just like you! I know it’s a lot of work, but keep pushin out these vids!
Thank You Joe! I appreciate the support. I hope the tips help land you some more fish. I wish I’d known about some of these setups sooner. I would have saved some time, a lot of gear, and probably would have been catching a lot more fish. Good luck out there!🎣
They make a nylon tackle bag that holds 4 of those plastic boxes and has all kinds of zipper and net pockets,I have one and love it( it also has a carry handle and a shoulder strap)
Thank you. I wish i had known about some of these rigs years ago, it would have saved me a lot of lost gear and time.... that weedless setup has been a killer for me!
Birdgrabber Man - thank you, I was hoping it was easy to follow. Sometimes what makes sense to you is foreign to someone else. Making it as easy as possible is the way to go
Pretty good description of what happens with the circle hooks an it's my favorite hook for the jetty's for me when I use bait an I tend to let the pole bounce 2 or 3 times in a row then just lightly pull back like your trying to pull the slack out that's all an if you feel it fighting back lightly keep presser an reel in
Thanks for watching... I don't recall exactly what I showed In the video but I usually have 2/0 3/0 & 4/0 and just use whatever works best size-wise for the plastic that I am using
Thank you, i've been happy to see the feedback from this video, knowing that a lot of viewers picked up something new that they hadn't known about or thought about trying. It's the little things :) Even better when experienced anglers realize that they just learned something new. It's a constant learning experience and that's part of the fun in it. I just wish i had known about some of these setups earlier in my fishing days.. would have saved me a lot of gear lol. Good luck out there!
Just got done watching and thank you very much for this. I love yur presentation of the different rigs! Now I understand what I was doing wrong. Awesome!!
I wish i would have known about some of these setups years ago! it would have saved me so much time and lost gear.. i have received a lot of good feedback on this video and i couldn't be happier knowing this video has helped out so many.. Good luck out there!!
Last week I caught a redtail surf perch on a northern Oregon beach. I was doing CNR. When I let the fish go in about 4" of water, it did that sideways halibut flutter to head back out. When the fish was about 12' away from me, a dark form filled my entire field of view. A bald eagle had come from the trees on the cliffs behind me, and snagged the perch right in front of me. With an 8' wingspan, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, it was very impressive. That little fishy was so. close.
I just watched a few of your videos and you do a very good job! I learned quite a bit, thank-you! I have fished for sea bass from a boat right near where you are and plan to give some of your techniques a try. I want to try the Nehalem jetty a try as well.
nice dude. i live in the desert, so i've only ever done freshwater fishing, but im planning a roadtrip later this year so i can spend about a month trying my luck at saltwater fishing. so ya, i loved getting to see a new setup that will work for my trip. you got my sub
Oh how I wish I had seen your video before I went jetty fishing and lost my most expensive lure! Thank you so much for the video. I have learnt a new loop knot thanks to you and it ll so nicely help me in tying up extra rigs and so easily too. You have saved my aggravation at fishing the jettys. Do you happen to know what the name of the loop knot is at 12:45? Before you tied on the dropper loop. If you could make a video on how to safely land fish at the jettys without getting near the water and if you don't have landing nets that would be great. Thanks so much man. Cheers from India.
One of the best, well explained very informative videos I have ever seen, really appreciate the effort making it, sorry for your gear loss, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank You! I really enjoyed making this video. Having more options when fishing is always a good thing. With that much info i'm always hoping that my delivery is in a fashion that most can absorb easily and not just be an overload. I always appreciate the feedback... lol it is pretty typical of me to spill cases like that... i'm working on it. Good luck out there and again, thank you for the feedback
Peter Z - thanks Peter, I tried to keep it simple and to the point. I enjoy doing these vids, knowing it’s going to make a big difference for some. Thanks for watching
Thank You, this video was fun to do and i've really liked seeing all of the feedback from you guys. I started catching a lot more fish once i got away from using the one rig i started out fishing with... Good luck out there and thanks for watching
Great tutorial with some of my favourite rigs😎 Good job mate. The only thing I picked up that Isn’t ideal, is that you thread your line trough the back of the hook, instead of the front. You’ll get a better hook up rate it you go through the front, as the hook sits at a better natural angle. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, i have had a lot of good feedback from this video.. i wish i had known about some of these sooner lol.. I have always gone through the back but i will have to try going through the front.. i've never had any issues with hookups for the most part but i'm always open to trying something different..thanks! i will let you know what i think
Thank you for the great videos. How about when at your locations, could you please say where your at, I live in Brookings and I'm always looking for good fishing spots
Thanks a ton for this video! Sorry about your tackle box mishap, we've all been there, but your video helped me a lot as I'm just trying to get into jetty fishing here in Oregon.
Ryan Price - I’m glad to know the video helped you out. Every little bit improves your chances of catching fish. Lol I do dumb things all the time so the tackle box mishap was typical 😂 Thanks for watching, good luck 🎣
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Awesome tutorial, this video is super helpful. You’re enticing me to try the jetty once I’m experienced. Sorry you lost so much tackle demonstrating for us :(. Thank you for all of the effort you put into making these video.
If you ain't loosing gear at the jetty you ain't fishing
Lovin all the jetty content lately, you know me I love that place. Keep up the good work brother 🤘
This is how I have been running my rig for years with small circle hooks small small an iv got 19 in cab an 25 inch ling with them on 20 pound tess born an raised in Humboldt county like your vids thumbs up
I've been out there using sandshrimp. No major luck, glad you're out there showing us your rigs
I always do same loop for sinkers. So convenient and not flopping and banging / tangling around while carrying rods.
i love the loops! definitely more convenient and i can't stand all the flopping, tangling and banging around when walking too
Thank you Nick I went out jetty fishing a couple days ago on an opening day using one of your techniques and I scored some greenlings and rock bass you are amazing!
That’s awesome! I always love knowing these vids help. Keep it up 🎣 I’m getting some trips planned. I can’t wait to do more coastal videos
You’re a great teacher. Thanks for sharing.
I am just learning Jetty surf fishing Thank you for this information! Very helpful!
Completely green to surf fishing. This video was incredibly educational. Can't wait to try these techniques. Thank you so much!

Thx for the detailed rigs great job
Thanks! I always like making vids like these. You never know what little bit of info can be a game changer for someone.
I love the advice and explanations you give really useful since I'm learning to fish and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and no one to ask.

I truly enjoyed watching your video. Very informative and it's the type of knowhow I had hope to see! thank you very, very much.

Your second rig is exactly what I use here in Scotland for all my bait fishing.
Great video. Went for the 1st time yesterday and got skunked... but so did everyone else near me. Can't wait to go back with some new knowledge.
Great informative video! I’ll give it go 👍🏻
Great video dude
Great tutorial. Thanks bud. Ima bass guy but my boy wanted to surf and jetty fish. So now i need to master a new type of fishin. Joe Bustamante Panama City Beach
I just started fishing a year ago and for sure I’m gonna be using your tips in my next trip to the beach.
Just got into fishing the jetties in ft. pierce florida. This was very helpful since im a newbie.
Good luck out there!🎣
This is a really good instruction video. Excellent job Brother. Thankyou
14:54 It's just like the doctor checking knee reflexes. Thank you for this video, man.
This was very helpful!
Thank you
Excellent video for us newbies thxs
Thank You, I hope it helps! I definitely saw an increase in catches once I started incorporating different setups. Good luck out there 🎣
Love the idea of separate tackle boxes for different swim baits, will be trying this for a lighter pack on jetty days!
They make a nylon tackle bag that holds 4 of those plastic boxes and has all kinds of zipper and net pockets,I have one and love it( it also has a carry handle and a shoulder strap)
Most Excellent Tutorial! Thank You! 🎣
Thank you. I wish i had known about some of these rigs years ago, it would have saved me a lot of lost gear and time.... that weedless setup has been a killer for me!
Nice run through on different setups. Good job making the presentation easy to follow.
Birdgrabber Man - thank you, I was hoping it was easy to follow. Sometimes what makes sense to you is foreign to someone else. Making it as easy as possible is the way to go
Pretty good description of what happens with the circle hooks an it's my favorite hook for the jetty's for me when I use bait an I tend to let the pole bounce 2 or 3 times in a row then just lightly pull back like your trying to pull the slack out that's all an if you feel it fighting back lightly keep presser an reel in
Thanks for your great presentations. What size are those worm hooks you are using?
Thanks for watching... I don't recall exactly what I showed In the video but I usually have 2/0 3/0 & 4/0 and just use whatever works best size-wise for the plastic that I am using
Great thorough video👍... Even as a life long angler I picked up a couple new tricks.😎
Thank you, i've been happy to see the feedback from this video, knowing that a lot of viewers picked up something new that they hadn't known about or thought about trying. Great video. Thank you.
Great video.
Excellent overview of a huge variety of rigging techniques. Thank you. Any suggested jetties around Bremerton area?
Fantastic tutorial. I'm pretty old-school about my knots and setups so I appreciate new thoughts and ideas!
Thanks for all the knowledge. Appreciate it. I need to try a few of these. Another great video.
Adventuring the PNW - Anytime! I’m always happy to help. Multiple ways to setup your rod goes a long way
Just got done watching and thank you very much for this. I love yur presentation of the different rigs! Now I understand what I was doing wrong. Awesome!!

@Northwest Adventurer - thank you. It is a good rig.... and convenient
superb tutorial! thanks for sharing your fishing wisdom!
Thank you for watching! I hope the info helps.. between all those rigs I’m sure you will see an improvement in the catch rate.
Liking your work sir. Thanks for sharing. Headed to PNW in a week. Definitely going to use your play book.
Dang good video dude!
Very informative! Spending a week in the area soon, may have a few hours to fish, you helped big time! First time to the area, so we'll be exploring
I just watched a few of your videos and you do a very good job! I learned quite a bit, thank-you! I have fished for sea bass from a boat right near where you are and plan to give some of your techniques a try. I want to try the Nehalem jetty a try as well.
Really great tutorial!
Very good young man! Thanks much.
Thanks for the content I asked this on another video
Awesome video .. thanks my boy
nice dude. i live in the desert, so i've only ever done freshwater fishing, but im planning a roadtrip later this year so i can spend about a month trying my luck at saltwater fishing. so ya, i loved getting to see a new setup that will work for my trip.
you got my sub
Awesome video thanks
Appreciate this heaps bradda!
Oh how I wish I had seen your video before I went jetty fishing and lost my most expensive lure! Thank you so much for the video. Man good job. Clear tutorial.
Peter Z - thanks Peter, I tried to keep it simple and to the point. I enjoy doing these vids, knowing it’s going to make a big difference for some. Thanks for watching
Im your 3,000 like 👍 hope to improve my chances out here on the mendocino coast man thanks for the info
Great video friend
Thank You, this video was fun to do and i've really liked seeing all of the feedback from you guys. I started catching a lot more fish once i got away from using the one rig i started out fishing with... Good luck out there and thanks for watching
Excellent, thanks!!
Nice video.Thanks
Dude, so much info. Thanks! What size hook and grub at 21:00?
Great tutorial with some of my favourite rigs😎
Good job mate.
I've been using the improved clinch knot or salmon knot for decades for tying line to hook or swivel.
I can't remember it ever failing
Thank you for the great videos.
How about when at your locations, could you please say where your at, I live in Brookings and I'm always looking for good fishing spots
Thanks a ton for this video! Sorry about your tackle box mishap, we've all been there, but your video helped me a lot as I'm just trying to get into jetty fishing here in Oregon.
Ryan Price - I’m glad to know the video helped you out. Every little bit improves your chances of catching fish. Lol I do dumb things all the time so the tackle box mishap was typical 😂
Thanks for watching, good luck 🎣
I can't wait till my place in Westport gets done.
Me either man.
