- This is an 8-watt 6L6-based, single-ended guitar conversion head from the 1950s. I'm using my Hofner G459vtz Super Beatle guitar and a home-made 8" suitcase speaker cab.

I like the looks of the little bogen, seems like I needed a little more work though. It was so dark even on the brightest channel.
My J330 has two big bottle 6L6's and is loud as heck and seems to love 16 ohm's into 4/12's
Nice job, I have a suitcase exactly like that, including some mold.
Yeah, I think this one had a tiny amount of it on the back as well. Wonder what's up with that.
Just wondering about the tone stack/ control which is adjusted by different resistors. My question is does higher the resistors value give you more treble or is it the opposite? Thanks buddy, your the best.
hi brad i have a ch 8 that i would like to get working . did you rebuild your amp and do you have a schematic. your amp sounds great and i love the spkr cab
I did not convert this one. It was already converted when I got it. I don't have a schematic either. Sorry. Wish I could be of more help.
I picked up a CH-8 today but it is not quite like this one. Mine is in a tweed cabinet. The lid lifts off the bottom that contains the amp part. 8" speaker in the lid. It is very 50's.
Sounds awesome!
In the tone stack didn't you mean capacitors instead of resistors?
I don't think I did. The tone switch is just a series of resistors switched.
Is this considered as a Class A amp. I ve heard several Bogen and otherwise older pa systems and such made for tone. we find class a amps to be very tone oriented for our personal use. But, I m not wholly satisfied with the way they are chopped up for tone.
Yes, it's Class A.
So you do have a Bogen
I have had several. I'm a trader, so they come and go. This one went to the West Coast somewhere. LA, I think.
