The audio jack is NOT an output. My understanding is that you can plug external audio into it that will be included in the outgoing HDMI signal. There is no microphone in this camera. You wouldn't want to use the audio from such a mic for streaming anyway!

Just to confirm my understanding of this camera. It has a built in microphone, and the cable is just for audio out?
