As a previous commenter said, excellent chemistry between these two. Jess has a remarkable ability to wear emotions on her sleeve and her heartsick feelings come through in a most compelling way. Ethan plays the role with just the right amount of reservation and longing... the half human, half Vulcan sides struggling to reconcile. Killer tension. :)
I like the entire cast. The chemistry between them is what makes this Star Trek series one of the best. Anson Mount does a fantastic job as Captain Christopher Pike! He brings a unique style to the role of a Starship Captain that none of the previous captains provided in their perspective series. He’s a great actor and I hope this series will be around at least 5+ seasons or more!
Two seasons in, and I still haven't fully adapted to him being clean shaven. I got so accustom to Spock on Discovery, and I always thought Nimoy rocked his beard when he had it. And then the singing. OMG.
I wouldn't recognize Jess Bush irl. She's one of my favourite characters in Trek yet she looks completely different irl. Weird... SNW is the best Trek show in a long time tho.
Too gay? Too lesbian? Spare me. Star Trek has been mindblowingly hetero for decades. Heaven forefend. As for being woke, its been woke since Kirk kissed Uhura.
As much as I’m certain these two actors are very nice people in the real world, I never want to see them again outside the roles they play together on STSNW.
Chapel is badly written and badly acted. It's hard to empathize with her and connect. And as the season has gone on, the character's treatment of Spock who is one of the top 3 most popular characters across every single version of ST makes her hard to like at all. Something different has to happen there.
Strange New Worlds is too WOKE to gay, the woman are more like men and the men well, soft, and the Spock character is more human then Vulcan! and a musical? Rodenberry's legacy has been destroyed by you fools !
no it wasn't too woke the casting was good and pike is more introspective and less grandiose than previous captains but he still is adept at making executive decisions and fighting for the lives of his crew willing to sacrifice his own life on numerous occasions, which are masculine not woke qualities. Yes uhura , ortega were woke but at least they weren't openly doing lesbian shit so overall I was ok with it.
Roddenberry's vision of Star Trek was of an utopian-like future where people grew past petty reason to other eachother. Where differences would be celebrated rather than feared. A future where Americans work alongside Russians ( rather "woke" thing to include during the Cold War ), African and Asian people, male and female, this was only ten years after African Americans would still be told where to sit in public transport. You're a fool to think that Strange New Worlds is "too woke" or "too gay". It fits right in with Roddenberry's legacy for as far as these kinds of subjects are concerned.
@@bellabana TOS, TNG, and DS9 were much more compelling, character driven shows than this non sense. But, we can obviously disagree. Only time will tell with ratings/viewership if the majority agrees. Paramount is losing money hand over fist with Star Trek right now.
Great interview! I really love Spock and Chapel's relationship. Ethan and Jess have such great chemistry and the actors are doing an amazing job.

That episode of Spock and Capel was perfect. Good acting of the whole crew.

This dynamic has been missing in previous generations and is so good to see the refresh...I will cry to see them end
Loved that. I could listen to Ethan Peck speak for hours
He comes by it naturally. Isn't his grandfather Gregory Peck? Now that man could act!

After seeing Ethan Peck as Spock, seeing him so casual is shocking, but it reminds me that Spock is a role he plays, and that's all.

Australia produces some beautiful people.
I didn't know Jess was Aussie. Now I like her even more!
I love the romance action I can't wait to see what happens with them next!
Kissing hot Spock is a tough job, someone has to do it. Ha ha!

Too bad, so sad... for you.
I like Anson Mount; But, Star Trek ended in 2005. All this bullshit since is worse than Nemesis.
I totally disagree, I’m enjoying this version of Star Trek, especially the cast.
