I can honestly say that Strange New Worlds is the Star Trek I have been waiting 20 years to see. I have been so impressed with this show, this cast and the return to the episodic format that I hope it never ends. I love the new look of the show, and the ship, and can fully accept that if the TOS were made now this is the Enterprise we would get and expect . Keep up this greatest of work. Thank you for being part of this experience for us all.
This is a lovely interview, I would love to hear all three of them discuss Star Trek for much longer.

Strange New Worlds is great, and in no small part due to Anson Mount's portrayal of Pike.

I find it odd how many think they know Pike’s end. We don’t. What we do know is that Pike ends up on Talos IV at a certain point, crippled. We don’t know what happens to him afterwards.
That could be up to a scriptwriter.
He'll live with Vina where the Talosians will hide their scars through projections & they will live happily ever after. Perhaps that's what the Talosians meant when they said Pike wasn't compatible for Vina but with them both living with physcial injuries they will then be compatible. 😉

The Enterprise has to visit Talos IV for the proper wrap.
It's 5 years after the Cage. Discovery season 2 revisited Talos IV, Vina, and The Talosians.
I think they should retcon Pikes fate.
...I think that, if for no other reason than to jam it in Trek fans eyes, Kurtzman will do that.
He hates true Trek and believes that:
'only the Kurtzman Trek matters'
'these serieses'
1 series, lots of series.
First, I want to say how good Anson was in Hell On Wheels.
Second, Anson was The Best thing about ST:D Season 2...
Third...and I'm sure that the Kurtzman Trek idiot writing staff might have thought of this....but,

Pike's future is the Prime Pike's and not Anson's?
Gotta be more than the Prime and Mirror universes out there..like there's the Kelvin Universe..so the future Pike saw happens to Jeffrey Hunter's stand-in...
And...without making anymore attempts to Avoid his cadet ship destiny..Pike actually does Avoid it...
And Fourth..
Yeah..WE Noticed that there are only 3 main, seen weekly male characters.
I don't count George ( only his brother calls him Sam ) and Jim Kirk.
IF You really wanted Equality..in fiction...make Half the bridge crew male.
In ST:D...there are No straight white human males in the cast..and only One straight man, Book.
Ash is a Klingon Human mix.
What classic Trek fans think is..
...CBS fucked over the Fans by crippling Fans to make Their own episodes...
...CBS hired an "I don't know and don't care about Star Trek" idiot to produce 'new' Trek who hired people who cared even Less.
...I am surprised that CBS kept every Trek series up to Enterprise on the air...because the Roddenberry Universe doesn't jive with the Kurtzman/Abrams Universe.
BUT....the only new Treks I like are...
Lower Decks..but ST:SNW is OK..
..If I remember that this is in an alternative Trek-verse..and Doesn't count
Mount needs to watch his weight.
These uniforms are unforgiving and he is in about perfect shape for his age.
In between filming, theres easily some pounds gained if you eat and train for that level, he is no small dude after all.
