These tins + a Duskmourn pack each were a clean way to throw together a 2024 sealed pool with some friends. The tin and a Patchwork Banner? Sweet, sweet icing.
Yugioh has been releasing tins like this officially for over 20 years and normally people would just remove the tin insert and store the cards and some others inside. Definitely have a lot of memories as a kid of storing cards in tins like this.
Hell yeah, I still have a power tool dragon tin kicking around somewhere. Maybe also a stardust dragon/junk warrior tin, forgot who they used for the promo art
Used to love collecting the Yugioh tins with the little clear window in the front. You just unlocked a very pleasant core memory for me. I lowkey really like the MTG tins, I have a Bloomburrow one and one of the Lord of the Rings ones.
My wife picked up the last one our WalMart had and gave it to me for my birthday. Pulled a Blasphemous Edict and a Rottwnmouth Viper, which made it feel pretty worth it to me. I hope something like this becomes a tradition, though, just because I'd love to keep stuff in MTG themed tins.
@@yunoyukki7344 It's only a gamble if you're a) spending money on it and b) not going to be happy with a bunch of draft chaff, neither of which apply to me. I even like getting the 10¢ commons that I can give to the middle school students in my after school MTG club. They are happy just to have cards to play with. Either way, I win when I open a pack, because, when I open one, the world has more Magic cards in it, and therefore more fun can be had by all.
So long as it doesnt see a reprint anytime soon that promo will go up a lot. I bought 6 of those tins and gave 3 of the Lilys away to my siblings for Christmass
@Kryptnyt patchwork banner is not your typical garbage bulk rare promo. It's one of the "rare" uncommons Bloomburrow that should've been a rare and also likely won't be reprinted for a long time. It's sought after and played in standard and edh. Those tins are a one and done so the supply of those is limited
I fell in love with the Run Away Together art for Bloomburrow so honestly the packs were the added bonus in comparison to being able to display my favorite art from the set.
I got one a few weeks ago. I pulled the plastic shell from the tin and put a lot of the spindowns I have in it. Booster packs are always a gamble. and getting 5 boosters for approx the cost of 5 Plus a few bonuses is decent. But only if you want to get 5 specific packs and the bonuses. Otherwise get the packs you want or just buy singles. I didn't get anything amazing in my packs but enjoyed opening up the packs.
I think they didn’t include Duskmourn because they’re aiming this at kids/people who like the cute artwork on the tin and they don’t want parents getting mad about the horror set.
I feel like the value is there. I lowkey really like the tins, and they picked two extremely playable promos. A nice product in my book and I do consider myself to be pretty budget / value - minded.
I mean, the tin probably is worth 5 bucks alone. Let's see what's inside it! What do you do with the tin? Hold a few cookies. Sewing Kits. Hold dice and tokens in it. The tin is worthwhile.
Tins are great for dice n stuff. Fossil watch tins are especially good since they fit in a lot of large deck vaults, mine fits seamlessly into my Quiver.
To the older group, these tins hold up well as a recreational kit. I roll the "accessory" in the foam insert and it stays closed in a backpack, and after a few uses the coating comes off the lid and your filling of choice doesn't stuck much.
If being a magic fan for many years has taught me anything, it's that if a MTG product is worth the money you spent on it, it wouldn't be on the shelves.
i hit a point where i couldn’t figure out why things weren’t working out for me. other people seemed to manifest success effortlessly, while i stayed stuck. then i came across Vibrations of Manifestation by Alex Lane, and the way it explains energy blew my mind. there’s a section in chapter 3 that really stands out-it helped me see how much power i already have.
If you're new and/or looking to open some packs and don't have an lgs near you these are pretty decent. You're getting some small deals with the promos and tins, and since you were going to buy packs anyway, you're saving about .50 per pack this way
You'd be in a very bad state if you were reincarnated as that snail. That Snail artwork is depicting a snail infected with a parasite in it's eye stalks that makes it more likely to be eaten so the parasite can end up in the gut of a bird.
I would actually want to pick up a couple of these just for the Patchwork Banner and some pack pulling fun. Sadly, my local Walmarts dont carry them, and they're sold out online
@@DraculHemming I'm in the US, I bought 2 yesterday and I still see them in stock. Tho I am having trouble seeing them on the website, but if you google "bloombrrow tins" I'm able to click on the link and it takes you to the listing.

I remember someone hanging the tin caps on their walls you know like some people hang car license plates or vigils . But since they are relatively small you need more then one and they need to have different arts .
It's actually a pretty good deal. Personally I'd prefer it if it was just 5 bloomburrow boosters, because it would make more sense for that tin. You could pad the inside of the tin by hot gluing some felt or just glue the padding the tin comes with in there. Without the plastic bit it can totally fit a commander deck in there. And personally, I'm such a huge bloomburrow dork that I would absolutely put my Mabel commander deck in there. All the basic lands are bloomburrow lands and they're in bloomburrow sleeves, so all I really need is a bloomburrow case for the deck and everything would match.
Frogs were my favorite deck right after Bloomburrow came out, but I'm not sure they can keep up in Standard now that we've gotten more sets. Maybe I need to build a Frog Commander deck.
The tins are still good to carry other card games that are sleeved and won’t fit the original box. Hold trinkets or crafting supplies in. Just use it for decor. Even by attaching a mounting bracket on the back, you could make wall art.
Liliana that came with this isn't just for mono black decks. Maybe primarily black, but that +1 specifies Swamps, not basic Swamps. Can use her to search up Shock and Surveil lands to your hand. That said maybe best for commander currently.
Picked one up recently for about $11 (had a $15 Walmart giftcard and also factored in taxes) and pulled a foil Delney and an Ygra, so I got really good value (and really lucky).
Snagged a few of these for myself. Cracked a few packs and saved the rest for a future chaos draft. Similar return as in this video, though I think the first "wave" of these had some chase boosters mixed in? I saw a reddit post about them and I think someone pulled an MH3 pack. I got a Ravnica Remastered in 1 of the 3 tins that would've replaced either Karlov or Outlaws but I can't recall which. My kids can use the tins for their marbles or whatever. Maybe I'll keep one for dad's... um... party favors 🎉😊
The tin can fit a sleeved commander deck, but the cards have to be laid out 1 by 1 side by side with a slight overlap in order to fit all 100 and some tokens.
It also may has changed now from release, but sold prices on the 2 promos were totaling around $15-17 on ebay. $8 for Patchwork Banner and around $10-12 for the Liliana.

I sold a bunch of M13 and M14 Lliianas of the Dark Realms back when they were like $20 so don't have that many any more. Even at probably $35CDN for 5 packs with those two promos, it's still an okay deal

Seth's experience opening these tins isn't too far removed from my own. Basically no different than buying 5 random packs off the shelf (one of my Murders pack was straight draft chaff, common to rare. 🤬) That said, it scratched the pack ripping itch & I hope I have better luck next time I buy packs or find one of these tins! The promos are great!
basically you pay the same of a collector booster and get around the same or more mythics/rare, yes they are not foil and there's no big hit since all the special treatments are collectors only, but at least you have the tin :D

Hey! I just wanted to shout out a Thank you for posting this recently. After watching this today, I decided to give Walmart another chance. I was there just in time to get the last Mable and the last 1 of 2 Skunk tins (no run away together tins left :( ) Anyway, as I was walking away, I saw some guy pick up the last skunk. Whew! Just in time, as I found out he must be a dealer of sorts as I saw him back in toys, going thru the collectibles and looking at the same wall of emptiness that was supposed to be the Pokémon cards. I’m trying to find out more info about the new prismatic set that is either coming out or may just be sold out? I checked with my online companies to find out more, but they aren’t even offering a pre-order, unless I missed the window. If you know anything, maybe you could pass it on? Thanks in advance!
I wish Wizards did what Yugioh does: end of year tins with high value/chase card from the year, printed in large quantity, lowering the market price of those cards.
Is it worth it? Probably not, but the tin is cute and I want one. If I get one more pack (maybe use a prize pack from an event) I can use it as a fun little two person chaos draft with my spouse.
I bought 2 and opened a bristly bill in one of my OTJ packs. If it wasn’t for that pull I would have pulled like 10 dollars from the 2 boxes. I still think they’re worth it though.
Although not the same in value, if someone was scoping the market for the promo cards and wanted cheaper versions, they could alternatively pick these up for less than what the singles originally cost.
You could use the tin for your dice and tokens, I kinda want one just for the tin. People use these kinds of things for their dice and counters in pokemon so I don’t see why you can’t do the same for mtg.
I got super lucky and pulled a delney streetwise lookout from on of these tins, which from the last time I check its around $30. Overall not a too terrible tin, not the worst thing ever but not the best.
Listen I bought one of these cause I thought the skunk tin was cute. My Walmart messed up and had them with a sign that said $15. I thought I wouldn’t pull anything good but I ended up pulling a $31 Sword of fire and ice. It was a win for me

The otter and frog in the boat, that you pulled was the 3rd tin
im so jealous we cant get them here in ireland without buying on ebay for a serious mark up :( Would love the tin for dice and counters :D
Seth's experience opening these tins isn't too far removed from my own. Basically no different than buying 5 random packs off the shelf (one of my Murders pack was straight draft chaff, common to rare. 🤬)
That said, it scratched the pack ripping itch & I hope I have better luck next time I buy packs or find one of these tins! The promos are great!
basically you pay the same of a collector booster and get around the same or more mythics/rare, yes they are not foil and there's no big hit since all the special treatments are collectors only, but at least you have the tin :D
When you talk about what to do with the tin, I can hear Chris Farley say, “It’s cool, cuz you can put your weed in it.”
Hey!
I just wanted to shout out a Thank you for posting this recently.
After watching this today, I decided to give Walmart another chance.
I was there just in time to get the last Mable and the last 1 of 2 Skunk tins (no run away together tins left :( )
Anyway, as I was walking away, I saw some guy pick up the last skunk.
They are extremely worth it! The tins are very nice, promos are playable for once and ehatever you pull from the packsis gonna makenit worthwile
Is it worth it? Probably not, but the tin is cute and I want one. If I get one more pack (maybe use a prize pack from an event) I can use it as a fun little two person chaos draft with my spouse.
From a Bloomburrow tin I would have expected only bloomburrow boosters? Not sure why I would want TJ or MKM in there?
I bought 2 and opened a bristly bill in one of my OTJ packs. If it wasn’t for that pull I would have pulled like 10 dollars from the 2 boxes. I still think they’re worth it though.
Although not the same in value, if someone was scoping the market for the promo cards and wanted cheaper versions, they could alternatively pick these up for less than what the singles originally cost.
The lord of the rings ones were great. Llanowar elves promos and 3 packs and a lord of the rings tin for $20
Man I wish we got these in the UK, I’d definitely pick one up.
If you take a lot of dice with you, the tin would be a fancy way to do so.
some of those thunderr junctions has two or three hats, good ploy for comments though! :)
I got the skunk tin and Im using it to hold my gauges! I have a gandalf one that holds all my spin downs.
I'd buy one if I saw them in stores.
Just to add, there are/were 3 variant tins. I was trying to find them
I got the infamous cruelclaw, plus another mythic leagend in the one i got the other day.
Listen I bought one of these cause I thought the skunk tin was cute. My Walmart messed up and had them with a sign that said $15. I thought I wouldn’t pull anything good but I ended up pulling a $31 Sword of fire and ice. It was a win for me
I think I would treat this as a fun way to do a sealed match against a friend
I got very lucky and got a Three Tree City Spring Boarderless out of my Bloomburrow Pack
this lili in europe costs like 10 euros trend price and from what i see it is worth around the same in usa... so you start around 14 $ up from the promos alone...
Got a question just getting back into magic an found a elves vs goblins near mint never played duel deck don’t see them around or for sale other then one on eBay for like a 1000 Canadian do I got something worth holding on to
Don't open it
@ it’s open but in sleeves an put back into the collector deck cardboard carrying boxes that came with it one for the goblins deck one for the elves deck
@@davidhart5743 if it's open it's only worth the price of the singles which total from what I see (USA TCG player prices by using Moxfield lists) is about 65 dollars. Might as well just keep it and have fun with it at that point
@davidhart5743 then not worth it
Thanks for the helpful video!
If it had a chance for MH3, I'd say it's a steal. Probably still worth it to card collectors for the unique, functional tin
