I realised that with longer dresses it works for me best if I wear a harnass of sorts on top or a corset to make me feel less like I am drowning in the sillouette
I just love the Kibbe system! My daughter and I have realized that the gamine/ flamboyant gamine specifications are exactly what look great on her. It’s such fun to go thrift shopping and find good pieces for her. It doesn’t matter what’s on trend as much as what works on her. I’m flamboyant natural and looking forward to FN summer video- although I’ve been following this approach for several years and will probably not be surprised by your advice!
I love it too! Haven't cared for trends since I apply it (still watch trends videos just fot fun). I'm the one who buys clothes for my mom now that she's older and she loves my picks. She's a TR and I'm a SG.
Since your time stamp says you commented hours before this video went live, you might not have watched it before your request. The style tips given for gamines given in this video apply to all age groups. Choose which aesthetics/styles/trends suit you personally. Look for narrow silhouettes, fitted through the hips, knee length or below, show your ankles (in dresses, skirts and/or pants), choose higher necklines if wearing longer dresses, choose crisper, heavier fabrics, smaller, sharper prints, geometric designs, stripes, and color blocking. Avoid over voluminous styles. Audrey Tautou (shown as the Gamine example at the beginning of the video) is 46 years old. Given she is a celebrity, her style might be to creative for some.
That’s so funny. The women in this image really look like teenage girls compare to the other ones in the same series As a soft gamine myself, I still need to show my ID when buying alcohol, even though I’m now 35 years old 😂
I’m pretty sure I am FG and I prefer dresses that end just above the knee or go down to the ankle. I also like sharp a line skirts and somewhat fitted tops a lot. I have no curve in the Kibbe sense but I have a very pronounced waist and wide hips so waist emphasis works really well as long as I keep the outlines and materials sharp and crisp. I always think of my body as a petite hourglass but instead of rounded lines, it’s straight lines like an X shape.
I would love to see a video that combine gamine with different essences! I think I want to just start with assuming I’m a gamine as a base. For sure I’m a gamine lol I just want to look mature and respectable. I feel like I either get lost or I feel like I’m showing so much skin or immodest.
Oh wow, I think this video pretty much sealed it for me, I am a gamine. I used to wonder why I can't pull off wide denim pants, but now here I have my answer. I look great in skinny jeans and will never get rid of them, and in slim pants that have a stiffer fabric, like 100% cotton denim.
Wow, your look so stunning today! I love how the pink shirt and lip colour complement your skin and hair. The whole outfit looks so feminine and gentle.
Oh my gosh that was amazing my mum in heaven was/is a gamine and this was everything she did and she really started to look her best when she clicked she was a gamine body type. she always sort of knew but it unleashed her and these points were all bang on so helpful - great work Aly I know this will help so many people I hope they give it a try sometimes it sounds so simple but it makes all the difference these little elements
Thank you so much! I live in a country with tropical weather and have tried to apply the general rules to what i wear off work. My staple for looking a little elevated are pleated high-waisted shorts. Finding denim shorts can be a little difficult, they always make them super short and it's not comfy! I got myself some linen cropped shirts with no sleeves and mao collar, i love them so much.
Can't wait for the soft gamine video in this series😀. After wathing your videos I think I finally found a skirt that I like, and that looks good on me😁. No more wearing long jeans all summer long😅😋
You Look like a doll Aly ❤I think when Aly says 'We' when She's talking about gamines She means that's her type. I may be wrong about that but I can see more sharpness in her outfits since She told us She thinks she's not a soft gamine anymore.
If you haven't already I would love one for Romantics and theatrical Romantics! I feel like I fall between the two, like if I go too romantic then it looks off but if I go too theatrical Romantic it looks off as well, when I do a bit of a blend i look great, so 🤷♀️😆
Thank you so much for this video! I you know last year I got a pixie cut NOT KNOWING about Gamine or any of this knowledge. Just felt it might right. Then after that got my color analysis done professionally. And now I just found out about the Kitchener and Kibbe Body system and feel like this is the missing puzzle piece. Will watch your other videos later so glad I found you here! Keep up that work really appreciate it
Hi Ali, I learn a lot from your videos I’m gamine & wish I knew where some of these pieces you’ve shown us are from. Especially the navy & white polka dot dress - I think 4 mins 5-8 seconds into the video Many thanks for all your work on our behalf, Paddy
Me gustan los vestidos vaporosos pero cuando me los pongo me siento rara. Cuando veo los más lisos no me llaman la atención pero cuando me los pongo me encanta como me quedan 🤯 ahora entiendo por que ❤
❤I love ur advices but I was wondering about jumpsuits, I love jumpsuits n m soft gamine.. I mean I think one colour from heat to toe it matches gamines but I would really like to know ur opinion on jumpsuits...
Such a good video, as always. (I personally hope that background music will not be the new norm. I know I'm not alone in finding that distractive, but it all comes to personal preference, really.)
Oversize is a great indicator of belonging to Natural body type family. Although I am tall and have broad shoulders, I excluded Flamboyant Natural because I do not look good on oversized lines. I am Soft Dramatic.
To loosely quote another Aly video from a few months or so ago, we have 6 billion people on the earth. Why be eliminating types. If any I'd love if he added a couple!
You are unbelievably accurate, I dress exactly the way you described it although I have to combine it with Romantic style as I'm between gamine and romantic type, not skinny, not too curved, not too sporty and quite proportionate. So I think that must be between the two types. ❤😊
I really like romantic dresses, so i wear them with a denim jacket and sandals and my hair up bc my hair is long and wavy but i do not want to cut it 😫 so i tie it
I wont ever be sure wich type I am.. while I am short and slightly boyish long skirts and bootcut jeans make me look and feel the best. And I can’t say if I am flamboyant or soft gamine because I am really sporty with soft flesh, on my knees f.ex. my calves are heavy, too and I have big hands and feet (compared to the rest of my small frame) and big facial features on a big head.
I don't have high heels of any type nor ballerinas and I'm a flamboyant gamine? I'm not planning on buying any of thise because my feet hurt when using them. How can I choose the proper shape or style of casual year for my body type without mistretaing my feet?
Can you review brands what's more appealing for SG. I notice that a lot of main ones appeal to tall people and sharper bones. When i try buying minamalism the trend is baggy and shapeless.
Barely 5'2" under 90 lbs. gamine here! It's so hard either not looking like a too young girl or like a boy. Ha! I like loose clothing, but sometimes look lost in billowy dresses or shirts.
Hi Aly! Big fan, and I love your content. Has improved my wardrobe and self confidence tremendously. I'm very curious, can you give us your opinion on Selena Quintanilla's body type? I am a big fan of hers, and I would love to know.
Are you sure all gamines are angular and straight ? Because I belive im a gamaine as I am petite and delicate and often describes as cute yet my body romantic looking as I have wider hips and a big bust at 5ft tall, with that being said I don't think this applys to a wide range of gammines.
I'm a soft gamine but I look best in romantic /TR lines , the lines for Gamines don't work well for me . Mini dresses , 20s dresses , boxy tops/jackets , stripes, v necks, stiff materials and sharp collars, pleats or pixie hair cuts do not look right on me.
You can. Just wear something tea length (6 inches above the ankle) with some waist emphasis, arms showing but with a higher neckline. Or if you wear spaghetti straps you could add a nice choker to focus the eyes upward. I always find that the right length of statement earrings helps a lot too. I like earrings that are around 1 1/2 to 2 inches long with a colorful stone.
What they said ^ Also don't fall into the trap of thinking certain styles are off limits.. I've learnt that there's almost always a way to make things work. You just have to figure out why it doesn't work, and look for stuff with elements that work. E.g. you want to wear a flowy dress, look for one that has the gamine elements like the previous commenters recommended...high neckline, sharp contrast, and lots of small accessories - earrings, rings, bracelets. When you look in the mirror you should see little accents all over your body and outfit (ofc I'm assuming you're a gamine and basing off of my own experience) Remember "best" doesn't mean "only"...it just means that'll probably get you where you want with least effort, but I have a lot of fun trying to make things work as well

Any chance you could cover a 40+ gamine style, please?

Why would you dress up based on your age? Age doesn't matter. Just go for the style you have always liked and wear the clothes you enjoy wearing:)
@@ildikoedit9110 Well said.
Age is irrelevant here
40+ gamines must look like 20+ year olds 😂
That’s so funny. The women in this image really look like teenage girls compare to the other ones in the same series

I feel u.
Hahaha same
Feel ya. I constantly answering people's small talk on what high school/possibly college I'm in. I'm 32 and a full working adult. 😅
Absolutely same! I teach kids and teens, and a kid said she thought I was 12, a dad said he thought I was a classmate, etc! I’m 30 😆
I feel the same 😊Always that high school girl vibe. 31 years old 😅
Oooooh these videos are so good! Desperately waiting on the Soft Gamine one.
I’m right there with you!!
You look so beautiful, Aly, the hairstyle and these colors suit you very much!

could you make something about colour combinations?
Lots of expectations for those details on soft naturals!
can not wait for the romantic type summer style vid
😀
I seriously love your channel and your content, Aly! I always learn so much, and I love that you explain very well! Thank you so much for your work ❤
Would love to see your take on androgynous or masculine style for different body types :)
A great very concise guide that makes perfect sense!
I will use these tips, thank you for your knowledge! I must invest in some of these types of pieces

Hi Aly! Gamines often seen to have smaller busts, can you think of any examples of public figures who are gamine but with a fuller bust?
Pretty in this pink shade!
Please do Flamboyent Natural next ❤
Patiently waiting on the Romantic type....
Love this. Thank you... very helpfulx
I'm gamine body type and I'm magnificient in long flowy dresses down to ankles.
Yes! When I wear dressses I feel stupid!
Do you know where the gingham dress at 5:50 are from?? I love them!
Great show Aly. I am gamine but with short neck, so I tend to avoid things with high collars.
Did you check how the high collar looks on you? Sorry if you had. Just asking.
Thank you! You really know your stuff 😅
as a soft gamine i can understand why it's different between me and a gamine.
Hey Aly, I absolutly love your hair!❤
Which products do you use to dye and style them and which haircare?
Please do a gamine in winter! 🥺
I’m pretty sure this video just confirmed that I’m a theatrical romantic and not a soft gamine 🥸Thank you for this

Thank you! Perfect 😊
I don't know why Kibbe gave up the typology of pure gamine, I am like that, I'm definitely far from soft and flamboyant
I will never understand why discarded classics, gamines and naturals, they definitely exist!!
Thank you 😊
Could you the same theme about Tr?
Oh yay thanks 😸😸
Gracias por los tips
My moment 🎉
Love this 💕
Love it! Thank you. I'm going to order a striped top!
Amazing insight as usual ❤
I thought this type was inverter triangle but i am confused
Thanks! Could you provide suggestions for gaming with large breast, please?

I am a flamboyant gamine (exactly the body of Cameron Diaz) and you are so right with your recommendations.
Cameron Diaz is a flamboyant natural. Perhaps you are a flamboyant gamine with a natural element. Like Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, Liza Minelli?
I'm a soft gamine but I look best in romantic /TR lines , the lines for Gamines don't work well for me . Mini dresses , 20s dresses , boxy tops/jackets , stripes, v necks, stiff materials and sharp collars, pleats or pixie hair cuts do not look right on me.
i always thought that chunky shoes were made for gamines because of the playful aspect of both
Hello Aly!!! I love you but I haaaate the dress suggestions 😂 I will go to my grave wearing flowing, romantic dresses!!!
