Got these irons about 8 mo n ths ago. Im 46, play once a week for about a year and a half. Took 14 years off and when I came back had wilson d300 superlite. Was regularly shooting 100-105. Just had my 4th round in 80s yesterday, these irons completely changed my game. I hit high draws now, zero fade or slice. Plus distance increased for each iron. My Ping G425 max also helps immensely. Missed 1 fairway yesterday. Ping g425 2 wood and a Big Bertha 3 hybrid round out my woods. Overall, I am a couple of putts and chips away from shooting in 70s.
I thought the exact same thing! Got fitted for and ended up with Mavrik Max two years ago. Arrow straight Long Consistent yardage And as numb as all heck😢 No sense of feel Thick and ugly offset Traded in and got Mavrik Pro and have been a happy camper ever since
Been using the Sim2 OS irons P-7iron with great results..would never play a 5iron regardless of set..use a traditional hybrid to replace those long irons
I watched this video a dozen times before I made my purchase. As a 60 year old golfer, who is in very good physical condition, my swing speed is pretty much in the low 80's now. I got fitted for they Taylormade Stealth HD irons this year and I couldn't be happier. They do exactly as advertised. High launching, forgiving and definitely a game improvement for me. I was using older Callaway's from 15 years ago and my scores last season averaged 78-82. I played 36 holes this past weekend and scored a personal best 71 from the whites. The clubs made my striking much more consistent. I also eliminated chunks & burners, as well as stuck greens, due to the improved attack angles. My objective was to make the game much more enjoyable for myself and in the early part of this season, 2023, they have done what I invested in them for. I tested them against the T-Rails and the Launchers and based on the recommendation from the Master Fitter at Golf Galaxy, I settled on the TaylorMade's. They feel great and the sound is fine. Personally, I am extremely happy.
Making the game easier Well I bought these 5-pw graphite yesterday. Few buckets on the range then 9 holes today Wow wow wow, I have never hit shot after shot so consistently the same, high with a draw and great dispersion with every iron My iron game was getting me down last year, I’ve always drove and chipped ok but didn’t want to play due to iron game These Stealth HD are a 100% game changer my confidence is now up due to watching every iron sore high and to target. If your struggling with your irons due to swing speed/age ( I’m 53) then please take my word for it that these will transform your enjoyment of the game Great review Andy, you may have saved my game with this review 😊
i presently have the STEALTH irons....pondering on getting the 5 , 6 , 7 irons in the HD version...mmmm might just be the perfect set up for me....thx Andy....cheers from Vulcan Canada
So, having watched not just your reviews but various others trying the Stealth HD, I finally got the opportunity last week. I was genuinely excited. I believe, like you, in making the game easier. I bought the Ping CipR on your recommendation and was sold before trying the Stealth HDs. I found them awful. The looks were fine but I found the massive offset encouraged me to shank every other hit. I also found them really heavy, even with the KBS MMT 85 shaft. Cannot tell you how disappointed I was. So still with P790s.. and still hitting them well.
I still believe that this design is the wave of the future for a LOT of golfers, including some better players. Easier to hit, forgiving, good spin rates and ball flight. What's not to like???
Great video! Since I switch to the TM Rescues from the 3 and 4 irons and I appreciated the effortless feel of a controlled swing and getting very predictable and repeatable launch, carry, distance and decent that I was getting with the Hybrids I wondered how I can have the same with my irons. After all, distance is not important since it is generally loft and speed related and that can be managed with club selection as opposed to losing accuracy by swinging harder. Predictability is the key. Consistency with different lies, rough, hardpan, and fairways. Add to that, very little variances with regard to off-center strikes vs flush hits adds greatly to the game enjoyment. I just purchased these irons after migrating from 15-year-old Pings that i bought for the same reason. Why would I care about the looks? There are no pictures on the scorecard :) Thank You for such a great contribution. I would love to have seen more ball flight after the hits though. PS you did well while talking in your swing, something I could never do.
Fantastic review(s) Andy, love how you stick to discussing all the relevant aspects and stats and skip all the marketing fluff, well done! One question & suggestion if I may. Given how the data from these clubs lines up so close with your own stats, could you see yourself and other similar handicap golfers benefitting from having these in the bag full-time or do you feel that while gaining consistency you may lose workability? Guess I’m trying to figure out what they’re lacking. As for the suggestion, would you consider making a video reviewing these out on a course you play often to see how they stack up against your usual sticks? Thanks again for the awesome videos and please keep ‘em coming. Cheers!
I now play Titliest T400 for the reasons you say Andy , easy to hit, launch high power lofted so go further , sound and feel great. IMO better looking than the HD and look more traditional, less chunky. How would you compare the the T400 and the HD Andy? Thanks for the T400 review helped me make the purchase.
Do you plan to compare and contrast the 4/5 DHY to new Stealth HD 5 iron in a future video? I bought a 5 DHY, then as you you predicted they come out with a set of super game improvement. Do we keep the 4/5 DHY and build a set starting at 6/7 iron HD? Think people would enjoy this topic on your channel. Thanks for your opinion.
You mentioned mixing the HDs for the long irons with the shorter irons of the standard stealth. I really like this idea. Do you anticipate needing to adjust lofts in such a mixed set? I was thinking 1* strong for the 5-6 HDs and 1* weak for the 7-AW. This would seemingly gap the HD better at the long end. Thoughts?
Andre for the type of profile these Stealth HD iorns are aimed at I think they look really smart and despite some of the criticism on looks I actually like the look. They are much more iorn looking than the Halo. I currently use the the standard Stealth and I am very pleased with them, two great products from Taylormade. Martin
Adams which Taylormade bought made similar clubs years ago. Very hard to get consistent distances and control. Adams is also where the speed pocket came from.
I'm glad you reviewed this iron, Andy. However, I wish you would have spent more time discussing the shape of the face. You mentioned it briefly at the end of the video but the face is much squatter than you would see with a regular iron in order to get the moi lower in the club. This is a big differentiator from other max game improvement irons.
Perfect review. Exactly what I have been considering testing as well. 6-pw my regular Gen 5 set in bag. Then replace my current 5 iron w a cannon like this and perhaps even try graphite shaft to check numbers. If I could get just a little more firepower out of my 5 iron w added forgiveness and stopping power that’s going in the bag.
Taylormade brought out the MCGB in 2017-18 and they gave similar performance, powerful looks and some snubbed the wide bottom tungsten weighted soles and chunkier look. But the performance was similar to these in many ways. Great iron, I still have mine as an alternative set. Now the name Stealth gets put on a big fat bottom club and minds have changed. That’s about time, both irons look great and I’m glad these are impressive now whereas 5 years ago they would of been snubbed too. Good review, and nice club. Some great stuff in 2023, and I’ll say in past 3-5 years golf has been transformed by great gear.
I have the MCGB irons and really hit them well. They are large but nothing like these. Funny thing is I specifically remember them being reviewed on this channel and they were trashed for being chunky. Oh how things change 5yrs later. Golf is a difficult game so anything that makes it easier is a plus. Keep up the great content!
I think when they take a regular looking iron an blow out a cavity, add to the sole and topline, it usually still looks like an Iron to me. When they start messing around with the head shape or attaching a lump of coal to it, it’s no longer an iron and is something else. Maybe I’m totally wrong but to me the Srixon ZX4, Callaway ST Rougue Max, Sim 2 Max and all the others are still irons, where these are hybrids of some kind.
I always find the conversation about this type of iron interesting. I think a lot of people think they're some sort of magic wand but they're not. I used to use the Cleveland equivalent and they were ok, I liked them, but you still had to match the club face to the path and get the ball mostly before the ground to get a decent result from them. The people who these clubs are marketed towards would, in my opinion and experience, be better off getting a couple of proper hybrids and maybe a 9 wood to replace their 5,6 and 7 irons. The low cg of these will help but if you don't have much speed, like me, they don't give you enough of a boost. I actually think they should sell these individually and market them towards the low double digit handicapper as a long iron replacement, that sort of golfer would probably benefit the most from them.
Great review Andy i now need some help with my game and was going to take a look at the Wilson LP glad i held back for a while as these could be the perfect Answer
Nice review....I play off 7.2 so a fellow average golfer....I'm not a big hitter but a believer that any help you can get...do it. I have had these for 3 months and shot a 74 and 75 (par 70) which are my 2 best rounds. Super high...so you can really attack pins....BUT....after 3 months playing 2 or 3 rounds a week max. They look awful....I clean after every shot and round....the faces are average but the hosels and back of the club look worse than my Xxios that I gamed for 4 years! A real let down for the price
Really interesting and keen to test these…Big question for me is do these clubs kill the success of the likes of the Ping ChipR? Who needs a ChipR if you had a Stealth HD 8 iron?
Hi andy Could I ask what you think these would be like out of the rough? Also I'm recovering from a bad back and normally play stiff flex p790s. I'm 52 and not a fast swinger , would the regular flex in these help I was a 20 handicap before injury?
Interesting move by Taylormade as new golfers and return golfers in later years want to hit something that gives them a more successful round. This is where the real revenue increase will come from. Wilson LP2 doing well once folks get used to the look.
Cheers my friend and Happy Saturday. How do these new Stealth HD irons stack up against the PXG 0211Z irons? Do they accomplish the same thing or does one have better performance than the other? On the surface, the Stealth HD looks way better than the PXG 0211Z.
Andy, how do these compare to the Cleveland Launcher irons you reviewed a couple months? I think at the time you called them the most forgiving clubs you had ever hit, is that still the case or do the Stealth HD irons now take the #1 spot? Thanks
Question Andy, I tested, then bought my 2019 Big Bertha irons based of your “easiest irons to hit in the bay” video at the time. So what’s your warm up iron these days?
Thank you for this review. This iron was the one review I was most looking forward to from you because it is in the category I am considering purchasing. How would you compare it to the cobra t rail hybrid irons, especially when it comes to head weight? A light weight club is very appealing to me right now. Thank you
@@TheAverageGolfer yes, absolutely. I know it will be a regular shaft, but I am definitely looking for a lighter weight shaft and head. I currently have taylormade m6 irons and they feel heavy. The cobra t rail is a hollow head...how would you compare the weight of the stealth hd to the cobra since you have swung both? Thank you again for taking the time. I love the way you come across
Great review, I play the Ping G-700, They were the first to venture with the hugely oversized club. I bought a set of Callaway clubs last year, Sold my Pings. I went back to the guy that I sold them to and traded my brand new Callaway's For my pings. Best move I ever made, My Pings look like a club should. Alway's enjoy your video's, Thanks, be safe, be careful but have fun.
Golf when I was a kid was full of snobs and clubs you could not get to play at unless you were in the old boys club. Golf has changed and now you can play anywhere and are welcome and with that change there are way less snobs and old boys.
Talormade 10 years late to the party. Hybrid irons have been around for much longer than most would think. I've had Cleveland HB Turbos but now game 10 year old Adams v4 idea hybrid irons. Ridiculously easy to hit.
Andy I'm thinking of getting these can i ask I'm what you call a clipper of the ball player, not a digger I play on parkland courses and are soft at most times. Would these fit me as a type of player
Did you not say the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal HL confused you but these don’t? Very similar product imo. Aimed at higher handicappers with slow swing speeds enabling them to get the ball in the air. Long distance isn’t everything, knowing your gapping between clubs, (whatever your distance on each) is.
@@TheAverageGolfer but aimed at a similar demographic of player. The 7 iron loft (static) is 30 for the stealth and 31 for the 923 HL so very similar. The video content is very good but I cannot see the confusion now over the 923 HL. Maybe a manufacturer needs to start something for others to follow, albeit iterations of the clubs have been around for a while
I don't think I could game anything like that, alot of the game is mental and if you dont like the look of something you're not going to hit it well and I think it looks horrible, I'm going to try the g430s apart from blades i think it's one of the best looking clubs to come out over the past year
@@TheAverageGolfer yeah it 100% plays a key part and everyone's different, alot of people say about sound too, I'm not so fussed on sound, I'm more fussed about how it looks especially how it looks behind the ball and ultimately how I play with a club (normally badly anyway 😂)
@@TheAverageGolfer No it just looked a bit worn for a brand new club in your video, I thought. They're probably the best value out of the Paradym X, Ping G430 and Stealth HD's. Looking at Stealth 2 HD Steel Irons Gents LH for €899.00. They've a similar effect to the Cleveland Golf Launcher XL Halo Irons I'd imagine.
There’s no reason at all why these shouldn’t be on the shelf in the pro shops at 500 bucks. What an opportunity for Taylor made to incite loyalty program for beginner golfers.
I am sorry to tell you that I tried similar clubs like this when I had a 22 handicap. Over time and practise I moved down to a blade/slight cavity back and now hold a 13 handicap. I cannot hit a driver iron to save my life. Try everything and don't worry about what everyone else thinks. Find what suits you. My bag looks this, Driver: Cobra F-7 @ 12dg 3 Wood: TM R-11 Hybrid: Cobra F-max 6-9 iron; Mizuno cavity 54 & 56: Ping tour Putter: Daiwa pro balance Not going to change for some time. Love golfing, 40 years strong.
as I commented to James forgiving yes game improving? big question although my handicap is coming down quickly would I buy these or go for a game improving set or iron. these seem to go straight whoever hits them
I've found the bigger the club the less control, strange how all this new equipment has not improved average hcp at all.. If anything golfers are worse ..
I think the companies are reverting back to iron lofts for the past. TaylorMade could have just come out with a set of regular Stealth irons, make the lofts weaker, and you would have a set of irons that were not so odd looking. I just had an iron fitting yesterday. Any game improvement club was too strong lofted for my swing. 7 iron swing speed of 80 mph, ball spin sub 4000, peak height of 85’, landing angle of 42*. Not ideal at all! I either have to bend these irons weak, buy a more players iron, or buy a set of irons from the early 2000’s. I need a 7 iron with around 34*. I think these companies have gone too far, and have finally figured that out. If I had a faster swing speed, these strong lofted irons wouldn’t be a problem.
I am totally shocked that Taylormade went this route. Many others have gone that way. Taylormade is normally thought of in the category of favorites of old golf snobs. All clubs must be traditionally shaped. I like the look of them but are they as expensive as the rest of their clubs? Someone needing that help is not going to pay for premium name because they don’t have the game. High handicap golfers want to progress and as they do they move up in clubs, not start out at top of price range as a high handicap player.
@@TheAverageGolfer This was no ordinary club review. You called theses clubs "game changers" that produced "optimum numbers" in your short data test. Why would you not play the clubs are "unreal or surreal how good they are"? Is that "logic" flawed or silly?
@@TheAverageGolfer Absolutely nothing wrong with your PXG gen 5's (if those are still in your bag).... but I would be willing to bet you score better in winter conditions with these ones.
I hope he plays them since he thinks they are that good. But most likely not. I play them and it makes the game easier. 4.3 handicap. Love them and I do not care what people say as long as they are paying skins.
I just went back to your review of the Halo XL. The 7 iron data was almost exactly the same. Why was that an ugly club not worthy of consideration but this one is? True brand snobbery. Taylormade makes it so it's acceptable?
Not sure what you took from my review of Cleveland Halo but it was a very positive review? Do I prefer the looks of the stealth option…yes I do! That’s ok isn’t it Tony? Nothing to do with any snobbery, maybe tone it down a bit, don’t get so offended
I have just watched the video myself and have no idea what you are referencing Tony, the review is full of positivity as have been all my reviews of the Cleveland product in the past year? You clearly have some agenda or a personal issue, I noted you have already made a similar comment on this video, what is the issue?
Not offended at all and no agenda. I was just saying that the reviews of the other, previous sgi irons, from you and others, referred to all of them as ugly and asked if people would put them in the bag. But now that Taylormade put out the same club, albeit a bit nicer looking, the reviewers are all going crazy over them and considering putting them in the bag. SGI clubs are all going to look different but so do putters. I enjoy all your work and am a big fan so don't take it wrong, it's just a snobby sport that's all.
Andy I refuse to buy new clubs that cost $ 600+ for a driver and $ 1200 for irons . These new clubs can't possibly decrease my handicap a significant amount .
@@TheAverageGolfer Andy I wouldn’t be surprised if you eventually talk yourself into a hybrid set. You talked me into one 😂. My Cleveland excursion started from your Hy-Wood review. XL DRIVER, 5 wood, HY-wood, 4-sw Halo XL Irons 👍. 53 and hitting Them as well as ever, not as far as 20 years ago though 😂
These are nothing new in some respect as these were all the rage in the late 70s/early 80s and were known as low profile irons. The theory was the same in that they were designed to get the ball up (or launch as it is now called) its interesting for me so see them come full circle. I suspect the build quality and technology are far superior on these modern versions. Probably suit me as an arthritic 75 year old, enjoyed the video by the way
Why do you assume that high handicap golfers want to play something as ugly as that though? It may go better for you, as a low-handicap golfer (!) but, it's designed for people who struggle with strike, launch and length. Should they buy it, will it be better for them? From this, I'm not sure! I suppose that the question is, is it suitable for people who strike the ball inconsistently? Is it better than the Cleveland Launcher XL, for instance, or the myriad of hybrid only "iron" brands? I'm not sure, but I am sure that, just because you hit these well (and you do!), higher handicappers won't necessarily do so!
@@TheAverageGolfer OK, that's fine, but I hope that you'll agree that these irons are not designed for a low handicapper like you? The question, that you seem to have misunderstood, is that there are other "iron hybrids" that are very similar, as quoted. Are these better than those? To quote you "These irons WILL change your game!" but what the higher handicapper, who these are probably aimed at, wants to know is how they fit against similarly shaped clubs from other manufacturers? How do these compare to those?
@@nevillehubbard7347 I assume you are not a regular viewer of the channel Neville? This video is a first look and appraisal of a new release, in the future weeks we will compare this to other models within the category.
@@TheAverageGolferthank you. No, I'm not a regular viewer, and I'm glad that I've, clearly, got the wrong end of the stick!
I recently purchased a mint set of Stealths 5-A. I'm interested in blending in the 5 and 6 in Stealth HD.
Love to hear your feedback if you get to try
I love my Taylormade hybrid and wonder if having a 5&6 HD iron would fit well in my set. Can you buy individual irons?
Great review Andy i now need some help with my game and was going to take a look at the Wilson LP glad i held back for a while as these could be the perfect Answer
Worth a try Michael
Strange, I love the looks a lot
Thinking of buying these
Any advice on which type of shaft graphite or steel?
I just bought a set. Have to decide on the wedges though.
Liked your review. I also like your style and attitude.
I think they look better than the Halo XL, Launchpad2s and Cobra t-rails... definitely more iron-like
How do they compare to the PXG 0211?
Hi andy
Could I ask what you think these would be like out of the rough?
Also I'm recovering from a bad back and normally play stiff flex p790s. I'm 52 and not a fast swinger , would the regular flex in these help I was a 20 handicap before injury?
Beautiful clubs. I spin the ball too much already. Someday, I will have a set of those. I currently play p790 black irons.
Brilliant review as always
Hi Andy how do they compare to the halos , 0211s , launchpad etc ?
Interesting move by Taylormade as new golfers and return golfers in later years want to hit something that gives them a more successful round. This is where the real revenue increase will come from. Wilson LP2 doing well once folks get used to the look.
Yes agreed and didn’t see these coming
Hi Andy, how do these compare against the Takomo 101's for forgiveness?
Can they be used with a senior shafts? thanks.
Cheers my friend and Happy Saturday. How do these new Stealth HD irons stack up against the PXG 0211Z irons? Do they accomplish the same thing or does one have better performance than the other? On the surface, the Stealth HD looks way better than the PXG 0211Z.
Would love to get your view on my above message please.
Traded these in 2 weeks after purchase. Hated em. Score went down 6 shots after with new ping g430 irons
yesssss…..finally….. i cant wait…..super improvement from TM….
Interesting, thanks for the review!
Andy, how do these compare to the Cleveland Launcher irons you reviewed a couple months? I think at the time you called them the most forgiving clubs you had ever hit, is that still the case or do the Stealth HD irons now take the #1 spot? Thanks
Taylor Made took over Adams some years back and this set of irons screams prime Adams golf, great for recreational and senior golfers.
Yes agreed
Great review look nice too. How do these compare to the other hybrid irons from Cobra, Wilson and Cleveland?
Obviously similar concept, although they seem more iron than hybrid whereas the models you mention are more hybrid than iron
@@TheAverageGolfer Many thanks I thought like the Ping chipper different to the others a little more streamlined. Love your reviews keep them coming!
Thank you
Would you not be best considering shaft weight and flex?
@@TheAverageGolfer yes, absolutely. I know it will be a regular shaft, but I am definitely looking for a lighter weight shaft and head. I currently have taylormade m6 irons and they feel heavy. The cobra t rail is a hollow head...how would you compare the weight of the stealth hd to the cobra since you have swung both? Thank you again for taking the time. I love the way you come across
How tall are you? Did you test the standard length in the regular flex?
i just bought this clubs and I almost returned, However I will wait to play a few rounds , I make 92 average.
i know this is an older video and you may not answer but how would you compare these to the non-HD stealths? major differences?
Question though, will it matter what club you use on the golf course?
Great review, I play the Ping G-700, They were the first to venture with the hugely oversized club.
I bought a set of Callaway clubs last year, Sold my Pings. I went back to the guy that I sold them
to and traded my brand new Callaway's For my pings. Best move I ever made, My Pings look like
a club should.
I just buy it today to replace my yamaha drivestar irons
Hello. How different are these to Stealth irons in terms of distance. Do you lose distance because of the increased loft
These irons are long but more importantly all data was good
Talormade 10 years late to the party. Hybrid irons have been around for much longer than most would think. I've had Cleveland HB Turbos but now game 10 year old Adams v4 idea hybrid irons. Ridiculously easy to hit.
Is it ever too late to join a party?
How will they work for a low swing speed .
Andy
I'm thinking of getting these can i ask I'm what you call a clipper of the ball player, not a digger I play on parkland courses and are soft at most times. Would these fit me as a type of player
I am also a picker of the ball and would not recognise these as an issue, whereabouts are you?
We play in Sussex and Surrey near Gatwick
Did you not say the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal HL confused you but these don’t? Very similar product imo. Aimed at higher handicappers with slow swing speeds enabling them to get the ball in the air. Long distance isn’t everything, knowing your gapping between clubs, (whatever your distance on each) is.
These are nothing like the 923s? They are a totally different profile?
@@TheAverageGolfer but aimed at a similar demographic of player. The 7 iron loft (static) is 30 for the stealth and 31 for the 923 HL so very similar. The video content is very good but I cannot see the confusion now over the 923 HL. Maybe a manufacturer needs to start something for others to follow, albeit iterations of the clubs have been around for a while
@@jasonchuter8748 the confusion had zero to do with demographic nor loft Jason 👍
Could a 9 handicapper use these to improve ty
if I had the money I would definitely play them HD
I don't think I could game anything like that, alot of the game is mental and if you dont like the look of something you're not going to hit it well and I think it looks horrible, I'm going to try the g430s apart from blades i think it's one of the best looking clubs to come out over the past year
I totally agree Anthony, many dispute the value of looks but it plays a key part
@@TheAverageGolfer yeah it 100% plays a key part and everyone's different, alot of people say about sound too, I'm not so fussed on sound, I'm more fussed about how it looks especially how it looks behind the ball and ultimately how I play with a club (normally badly anyway 😂)
@@anthonyhemsworth7417 Make sure you give Cobra Forged Tec's a try.
@@ericwilmsen5932 there abit more of a blade ? I quite like the look of them but have a feeling I'm not good enough
Do they markup easily enough? The sole looks pretty worn on the 9i.
Really? Just a standard chrome sole like any other iron?
@@TheAverageGolfer No it just looked a bit worn for a brand new club in your video, I thought. They're probably the best value out of the Paradym X, Ping G430 and Stealth HD's. Looking at Stealth 2 HD Steel Irons Gents LH for €899.00. They've a similar effect to the Cleveland Golf Launcher XL Halo Irons I'd imagine.
@@adrianoregan2531 yes very similar to Cleveland but I think these look better
No sound difference No distance lost No feel difference, what’s not to like. More Game enjoyment 👍
Love the flight, love the backdrop, the review was good as well 👍
I just feel like I'd be putting a bag of hybrids in my bag. My mizuno won't be going anywhere soon. I'm not 90 years old and need a mallet
There’s no reason at all why these shouldn’t be on the shelf in the pro shops at 500 bucks. What an opportunity for Taylor made to incite loyalty program for beginner golfers.
Great idea
Would these clubs help improve a high handicap golfer
I think lessons will help more….but these clubs help with elements of the game such as help with launch, distance and forgiveness 👍
My bag looks this,
Driver: Cobra F-7 @ 12dg
3 Wood: TM R-11
Hybrid: Cobra F-max
6-9 iron; Mizuno cavity
54 & 56: Ping tour
Putter: Daiwa pro balance
Not going to change for some time.
Love golfing, 40 years strong.
Link for that hitting mat? i like it.
as I commented to James forgiving yes game improving? big question although my handicap is coming down quickly would I buy these or go for a game improving set or iron. these seem to go straight whoever hits them
I've found the bigger the club the less control, strange how all this new equipment has not improved average hcp at all.. If anything golfers are worse
..
To be honest, I really need help with 5,6 and even 7 iron - I’d even take a 4 iron if they are that easy to hit (I’m the worst 10hc you will see 😂)
Give them a try I was super impressed
@@TheAverageGolfer I’d give them a go but, they probably don’t sell them in half sets !?!?!
You can purchase individual irons through custom on the TM site.
Loft of 7 iron Andy ?
8H D IRONS. Love the English.
As I do with all online reviewers of clubs..... I will believe your touting when I see them in your bag. Gotta walk the talk.
So your suggesting I change my clubs following every review? What kinda logic do you apply to these kind of comments? It’s a bit silly isn’t it?
@@TheAverageGolfer This was no ordinary club review. You called theses clubs "game changers" that produced "optimum numbers" in your short data test. Why would you not play the clubs are "unreal or surreal how good they are"? Is that "logic" flawed or silly?
@@ericwilmsen5932 because I already have irons? 🤷♂️
@@TheAverageGolfer Absolutely nothing wrong with your PXG gen 5's (if those are still in your bag).... but I would be willing to bet you score better in winter conditions with these ones.
@@ericwilmsen5932 you might be right but I only have a 9,7 and 5 iron to test, so my irons will remain
Don't know why anyone would blend long irons when hybrids are infinitely easier to hit and longer and higher launching
Infinitely easier to hit…..you haven’t tried these yet John 😂
Right maybe because these have a shorter club length than the hybrids.
Some golfers don’t like hybrids, can’t hit hybrids or prefer irons. That is why. 👍🏼
@@daddyharry6065 yep 👍 that as well
Hate hybrids so went to a Crossover iron and then up to a 7 wood
Looks like a Cleveland club.
I saw them, and at first I thought it was a chipper! They should call it the chipper set.
Just get the Wilson Launchpads for a fraction of the price.
They don’t look great but they don’t half get the job done. Can see them being a great seller for those who struggle with their ball striking
They are so easy to launch
I hope he plays them since he thinks they are that good. But most likely not. I play them and it makes the game easier. 4.3 handicap. Love them and I do not care what people say as long as they are paying skins.
He already has a set or irons 🤷♂️
Doing things very differently!
My misses were better than the 430s
They aren’t perfect because they’re really ugly, other manufacturers have done hybrid irons better
People keep commenting looks don’t matter all about performance
@@TheAverageGolfer Andy I wouldn’t be surprised if you eventually talk yourself into a hybrid set. You talked me into one 😂. My Cleveland excursion started from your Hy-Wood review. XL DRIVER, 5 wood, HY-wood, 4-sw Halo XL Irons 👍. 53 and hitting Them as well as ever, not as far as 20 years ago though 😂
@@johnjordan4295 id certainly play these in the 5 & 6 iron
I don’t assume anything, it’s my appraisal and opinion on a clubs performance compared to all others that we test on this channel?
I shall look forward to further videos, and comparison's as I am looking for a set of something like these for the Mrs (who plays off 28).
