Thing is, they suffered so many defeats at the hand of the NCR, a country they built with their technology sharing. And after so many losses, now they have a chance for glory again. It's the same recipe for totalitarianism from the 30s.
I really enjoy the show overall, but I don't know how I feel about the portrayal of the BoS. I like parts of it but some things just don't sit right with me.
I feel like we will see the brotherhood get absolutely humbled when the enclave make their inevitable comeback in the series. I mean the enclave are known for being a secretive group (everyone knows that Ik) but I think it’s been a long time since they were last mentioned in canon and the fact we saw a facility full of em suggests they might be coming back in full force and the enclave scientist did not want the enclave to have cold fusion- what ok gods green earth do they want to use cold fusion for as with the enclave they never settle for something small. I think we will see that vault tec wasn’t behind the war infact all of vault tec were nothing but a pawn in the enclaves plan to build a better capitalist America but not only that a entire world governed by the enclave bc who would be able to stop them if they beat the brotherhood…
I really hope the Brotherhood is more serious in season 2. They could still be moraly grey (as they are according to lore), but more serious in nature and not just a running gag as "big dumb power armor wearing incel cowards". The BOS has much bigger potential lore-wise than just being that.
Hear me out on this one but the BoS almost religious rites plus the names of the BoS characters in the show seem almost too reminiscent of a certain roman larpers faction...what if Elder Maxson's trying to pull out a Emperor Justinian Move? Re-unite the east and west of "the empire" and build around his family name a even greater almost religious background? All the latin names for the knights...NV being not in the best of looks from outside...what if the battle of hoover dam wasnt a ncr victory all along? What if the Legion (in some form or another) got absorbed into the BoS? Goddayum the Fallout TV show better keep going this great!

These are the remnants of the brotherhood from fallout 4 iirc, it makes sense that their numbers would've dwindled and dropped in quality, they're inexperienced.
@@ChadNobark firstly, they called their unit a Legion instead of a Chapter. Then, look at all the names. Tiberius, Thaddeus, Maximus. Then there are the architectural cues that give the feel of a legion camp. How they hang the banners, etc. They may not say "Ave, true to Caesar," but I get that feel from the BoS here

@@Skiritai except the BoS has never once referred to a legion as part of their organization before. It doesn't fit. Unless they absorbed Caesar's Legion, then it would make sense to use some of the old terms to try and reinforce loyalty to the Brotherhood.

To bad they were a bunch of bumbling idiots, they had a whole squad of power armored knights, dozens of squires (no energy for some fucking reason) and they get picked off by a bunch of raiders and one guy with an admittedly powerful pistol but like....man they shat the bed with BOS in the show.
