I wanna see ya do a destiny guardian vs a space marine because a lot of angry 40k fans keep saying a space marine can handle black holes and the temperature of the sun being thrown at them and rip through a hundred guardians and their ghosts without a problem while if you do some lore reading a single guardian could take on an entire chapter of astartes.
The Crusades are more like Terminaters done better. That is assuming it is avg non psychic SM. With the rockt he should be faster than that plus has a massive push power and a quicker snap dash in the offensive or outer range dodge. The crusaders main weakness they not useing guns. In my opinion a SM need power weapons like a power fist or polaxe or sword to smash through without gun otherwise it would be dangerous with the big nife.
Please keep in mind a marine is designed to be something that preys on what would be a apex predator on humans that's the purpose of space marines and there's a lot of predators about in wh40k Oh power armour ain't getting hacked or the mechanicum would of used it as a fail safe against marines the mechanicum make marines power armour Horus heresy would been rather short if the dark mechanicum could also infect marine power armour with scrap code
Let’s not forget the different chapters of space marines. If this were ultramarines, it’s no easy fight since the space marines of ultramar and the other planets under ultramarine control has such a well done economy and ability to tools and equipment of equal quality to each other consistently, all space marines of that chapter would have an advantage. However, other chapters where quality can vary quite a bit, they might find themselves at a disadvantage if they had armor and tools created with poor quality. So it could be said that Reinhardt’s chances are better with chapters of space marines that don’t have the level of consistent quality gear to be good. If one batch of armor is done terribly and could break from well placed blows due to micro fractures and bad tempering, many space marines could be lost even to a normal human greater strengths and size like Reinhardt. Bolters? Quality won’t matter so they can take Reinhardt at range and it won’t matter since the durability is enough that they won’t break in one battle of consistent fire. But given there are also differing series of armor for space marines, are the space marines equipped with up to date armor? There were armor in previous times that have riveted plates of armor put over their normal armor for more protection because it was either not enough armor or maybe the armor itself wasn’t strong enough/durable enough. But as with your conclusion, one Reinhardt overall would get demolished. It’s just a thing to add that it could be better chances against other chapters of inconsistent production quality. Your video was great and it did seem quite logical enough with its conclusion.
Fun fact about 40k, much of technology used by the imperium is is derived from civilian equipment used during the dark age of technology, imperial knights were originally used for agriculture use and Terminator armor, the great suits of power armor ever made by the Imperium is based on common mining equipment.
Even the Baneblade was originally used as an explorer vehicle A fucking Baneblade... A BANEBLADE Literally a decked out, land ship, futuristic german panzer was originally used as a fucking exploration vehicle A BANEBLADE!!!
@@LordCrate-du8zmThat’s kind of a meme, terminator armor wasn’t originally for mining. Most space marine equipment was actually designed for space marines
Reinhardt is a big dude in a power armor, and there are such guys in warhammer as well. A wealthy nobleman or army commander can have one as a bodyguard or don such gear himself.
ogryns are actually WAY stronger physically than marines, pretty much ripping them apart with no effort, and are way bigger and a bit more durable. altough, a space marine is too smart to lose to an ogryn.
Space Marines don’t even get winded just going for a sprint. Space Marines only begin to show signs of exhaustion after multiple days of constant fighting and no rest. Also, .75cal bolters are old school, Great Crusade era stuff, most commonly, the Phobos pattern. Modern bolters, like the Godwyn-Diaz, or MKII Cawl, use .998. So it’s pretty much a 4-Bore rifle that fires a rocket assisted round designed to detonate once embedded in the target. Not even Astartes armor can stand up to bolterfire for long, as even if the shots don’t score any penetrating hits, the detonations blast chunks out of the armor plating, even straight up fracturing the whole plate, and fat lot of good that armor does you when it’s jingling like wind chimes in fragments from the undersuit. Don’t know what a 4-Bore is? Go look up Kentucky Ballistics, he’s been beating the hell out of his shoulder with that thing for a good couple years now I think, all for our entertainment.
Where are you getting this from? All sources say the Godwyn and Cawl pattern bolters use .75 cal. The Phobos is .7 cal and the Tigris is .6 cal. Heavy bolters use a .998. You could've at least done the guy who researched this for his video the courtesy of doing a quick google search before "correcting" him.
No, they were retcon'd to .75 for some inexplicable reason. In the first Space Marine game, as well as my old Codex Space Marines, the bolter is listed as being chambered in .998 and it has always been estimated (at least since i was a spotty yoof) that a Heavy Bolter round would be about the size of a can of coke.
A counterpoint to sombra’s hacking: assuming that any properties that the armor has carries over to the fight, then that means the armor has a machine spirit. If the spirit is loyal to the marine and angry at sombra, it may be able to resist the hacking. Take Rynn’s Might for example, a land raider that continued to fight despite its crew being dead.
@@Steir12Except that the only case of power armor hacking i remember happening was from a DAoT AI, whose abilities would *absolutely* eclipse Sombra’s.
There’s no way Sombra’s hacking would have any affect on the space marines. Firstly even though the imperium is in a state of technological stagnation, their technology is still 39,000 some odd years ahead of the Overwatch timeline. Sombra’s tech would be like trying to hack a supercomputer with a type writer. She would have no reference to the coding language used and no experience dealing with a machine spirit. And most space marine weapons are analog, so even if she were somehow able to disable their auspex, there bolter would still work.
largely depends. a dark age of technology a.i was able to lock space marine armor up and suspend them indefinitely. sombra's hacking isn't based on real-world coding either so language probably wouldn't matter much, it's just magical movie hacking bs
@@deancairn4278 The DAOT era A.I.s were still a league all of their own. The descriptions of the men of iron's uprising leaves little to the imagination of just how devestating the height of human technological achievement really was. You're right, in either case it might as well just be movie/game magic BS, but in-universe, this is stuff where the fabric of reality is shifted by a button press. Plus, machine spirits. More or less if the spirit doesn't like you, it could just as well say "no, f**k off."
Just because the tech is from 39,000 doesn't directly mean it's language is any different from ours, perhaps it is but with the way that 40k constantly back petals and loses technology so they could barely be any farther at all. As for overwatch, they are far more advanced than what we have today and probably on par with most of 40ks shit, sombra however effortlessly overwhelms all of it like it's nothing.
@@deadman9335 Dark Age of Technology humanity was on par with the late game federation from Star Trek. Overwatch tech is still only 30 some odd years ahead of our own. Most of the imperiums tech derives directly from dark age of technology tech, and has supernatural components. In some cases a machine spirit is literally a spirit
@@trollinoakenshield9822 I didn’t know that, and was pretty skeptical of op’s comment before reading yours. Without that armor, even a super genetically suped up gorilla of a man would still probably lose out to a rocket power hammer swung by a (in this specific duel) a similarly sized, rocket powered gorilla of a man. I’m pretty new to the 40k universe in all honesty so I won’t pretend to know what I’m talking about, but (most) bones aren’t built for handling horizontal pressure, Rein’s speciality, even the super future genetically modified ones.
Space marine gene modes includes bone modification. The Ossmodula generates new cells and hormones that alter bone growth and they are given supplements in their food that these new cells can use that results in their bones become a metal-ceremic compound instead of just calcium. So i can imagine rein's hammer shattering on impact if a marine punches up into it.
"and then continuing to run a couple hundred more feet, before even beginning to feel winded." - No. I don't think you comprehend How insanely efficiently their bodies are engineered. There's at least 20,000 years of humanities technological advancement in their genetic strengths. In multiple books, Astartes are fighting hordes of enemies, in full on melee combat (without a break) for DAYS on end. They run as fast as a modern freeway car, and their bodies are so efficient they can sprint, full tilt for HOURS on end. Like even their long distance type of running would cover hundreds of kilometres in a day, and they can do this for days if needed. It just so rare, because they are needed as quickly as possible to move to each engagement, so they have their own aerial and ground vehicles to get them around even faster And in a pinch even Warp Teleportation... Astartes Terminators even have PERSONAL teleporters, so you have this EVEN BIGGER (yet SLIGHTLY slower) Astartes that can teleport around like Tracer from Overwatch, while they saw you in half or rip a turret off a neaby tank whith their power armour enhanced hands... Astartes while incredibly strong and endurable are even more so in power armour. Because the Power Armour amplifies and enhances their power and speed, and they wear it as if it's a second skin. Because of the tech of the "Black Carapace" they link directly with their nervous systems, it makes them faster and stronger than HALO's Spartan II's by orders of magnitude. Nano second reaction times. Their limbs, while in combat or in a full sprint are impossible for the human eye to track in motion. While they rely on faster transport to deploy rapidly, they can and do run across a planet's surface, if for any reason there is a delay or problem with transportation... and still be at 100% to fight when they get there -without any rest breaks.
Well said man, I still remember reading a series of books where one of the main marines had to fight for literal weeks in shite conditions, only had to rest after 2 to 3 weeks?
@@tobywhitford3427the last story of brothers of the snake is like that, they fough days with ghe bolters then more weeks with only melee, so much that serfs have to bring new weapons
Its simple, a bolter oneshots every member of the overwatch cast. One simple space marine might struggle against multiple members of the cast, but honestly i think a terminator and anything above (Named space marines) beats the entire cast together.
The physical abilities and traits of a Space Marine in 40k makes them demi gods in most other syfi then add the weapons and armor they use ...well kit's no much of a fight.

@@DarthSpock1 Then just give it to Cawl. @@DarthSpock1 No? It's ancient human tech, an intact STC containing any number of the technological innovations in Overwatch, such as hard light, invisibility, or healing nanites would be greatly appreciated once properly sanctified.
All fair points, I guess it just depends who gets a hold of the samples. I tend to get lost in WH40K lore, its so nutty (in a good way!) Like the "machine spirits" being a loop hole allowing some computer "AI" technology.
Machine spirits are a real thing, it is why legendary gear is just better despite it being technically identical to another non legendary weappn. Like a bolter that killed 1000 chaos marines would just become better at killing chaos marines with every kill. Penetrating the armor more than normal, hitting weak spots more often, etc.
One time, the Tau took control and sezied a space marine MIND, not his power armour, his MIND, and the marine said "No, im a Space Marine, i figth for the emperor, fuck you" and induced cardiac arrest on his TWO hearts and killed everyone connected to his mind. if Sombra and Rein manege to subdue a space marine, and sombra is connected with him (the space marine armour and machine spirit are connected to their mind) he would fucking kill her.

it's the space marine. Space marines don't NEED the power armor to be lethal killing machines. It just makes an already insanely powerful warrior that much more resilient.
Cool video, only thing I would add is that the space marines armor it's essentially a nuro link directly to the marines nervous system. More or less an extension of the marines body. It's not technology as we know today so I don't think it's "hackable" she would have to manipulate the marines mind which I don't think is possible. perhaps maybe I'm incorrect but yeah.
The Spirit of Eternity AI from the Death of Integrity novel did manage to seize the Blood Drinkers power armor but then again DAoT tech are literally magic so I dont know what Sombra can do here
Im fairly confident that sombra would not be able to hack the machine spirits of a space marine power armor, considering it's not AI, but a human soul.
this is literally hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby, and let me tell you that not even 10 reinhardts could do real damage to certain space marine chapters
The movement speeds that warhammer claims space marines can go at has always been the biggest point of contention for me in regards to the their stats because people like to say they can run 60 mph when the average space marine goes half that at a full blown sprint after building up speed
Space marines in books are just way more powerful the they are in cinematics and games. Just depends which you take as the main source. 40k has always been incosistent.

Though if doomfist can break it with his ult, a good clean punch could do the job too. Going back to his sluggishness, the marines are like WAY faster than they have any right being, shits like if reinheart had genjis movement minus the verticality.
@@averageeughenjoyer6429it's not about the writer, it's about their biology and how augmented they are is what makes their feat better. If normal first-born were fast, the Rubicon upgrading them making them more faster and skilled makes it more horrible for Reinhart.
Im saying this as a 40k fan with no Overwatch experience at all: the biggest advantage going for Reinhardt is his name. Aside from plot armour literally being a real concept in the 40k universe, like the primarchs for example are low-key engineered to maximize their plot armour, the writers just like to go wild with named characters. If he was up against a named character, Emperor forbid one who isn't wearing a helmet, he's absolutely screwed. Unfortunately for our centuries old superhuman soldier, that is not the case so the space marine would put up a fight and then make one fatal mistake that would see his skull caved in with that rocket hammer. That's a big part of 40k that I like: objective truths can be pushed out of the way and twisted by fun factor. Is a space marine better in every way than Reinhardt? Yeah probably. But would it be fun to kill the named character right in his first big duel? Hell nah! Also a counterargument for the Sombra part: machine spirits. I won't spoil much, but there is a scene in Gods of Mars where the main characters really need to do something with this machine, but it's machine spirit is refusing to comply and they can't force it despite all the effort. Then one of the characters reveals she has a copy of scrapcode that can basically rip a machine spirit out of a machine, making it merely a sum of all its material parts. Mega heresy btw, but the machine without the spirit is hacked and listening within seconds. Now again, Sombra being a named character would have a huge advantage, however the machine spirits of space marine armour tend to be extremely isolationist and stubborn. A space marine walks by a tech priest, and hes just this eerily dark spot in the noosphere because the spirit in the armour refuses to connect with any other device unless it is necessary to complete the space marine's mission. Now there is a case where an ancient AI from the dark age just locks up the armours of a buncho space marines with little effort shown, but that happened once, and the writers will mever miss a chance to exagerate any dark age tech. I would say Sombra could maybe slow a space marine down but not fully stop or take control of his armour. Maybe she could also engage in a bit of electronic warfare, as stallward as that machine spirit is, it still can't do diddly if jamming static is all that's getting into it's sensors so you could limit a space marine's sensory range and especially communication quite a lot with the right tools.
Also let’s not forget how space marines don’t even lose any weight or anything when getting older. They just get fictionally wiser and smarter. And so far, Reinhardt lacks on trying to overcome his mortality.
Space marines do start to age and get weaker but it's way slower. Taking thousands of years for any real affects to take place, which is something very very few astartes have been out of stasis or lived long enough to have happen
@@twiztedmind209 true, I kidna forgot that part, but technically they do get stronger. Because their prime is like 150-200 years old. They are pretty strong at the age
Pretty sure the only thing sombra could mess with is their vox. Everything else is going to be standalone and require physical integration to be messed with. Good luck doing that with a space marine wearing their armor
I agree on most parts but I think Reins hammer would actually do decent damage against the marine. The marine would be able to dodge but if Rein gets a hit in the Marine would definitly feel that. The Marine atill wins but I would put it closer to a 8 out of of 10.
Heres how the fight goes in my head , im giving the marine a thunder hammer since its hammer vs hammer time! (im not going to give him a jumpack or power sword or iron halo as i think that would just be unfair) - They square off, as both are basicly Sci-fi knights in heavy power armor and both have honor (well most loyalist marines i guess) - Rein Charges at the marine, the astartes easily dodges with his superhuman reflex - As Reinhardt turns around, the marine is already charging at him wasting no him - Rein charges his earth shatter, the marine tries to jump or dodge but the radius is too big and he staggers as he is hit by the ultimate to his knees - Rein comes in and whacks his hammer on the marines helmet , knocking him down... - As he is about to finish off the astartes, the marine grabs the hammer as it is about to hit him, Reinhardt stunned by how fast his opponent recovered, flinches which gives the marine enough time to shove the hammer towards rein -As rein staggers back, he is hit by a shoulder charge by the marine and falls, now the astartes starts to pummel his face with blow after blow of his gauntlet... - Assuming rein is still alive after say 4 punches? , The marines goes to pick up his thunder hammer and finishes the job (with probably a cool finisher line)
hammer vs hammer? Space Marine sees Reinhardt charge at him with his hammer.. he stands still.. powers on his hammer and swings right before impact at a reaction speed faster than reinhardt is moving.. and all we see is pink mist as reinhardt's head explodes
thing is.... the way you wrote this is way more like space marine vs space marine combat... realistically speaking the space marine would just atomize him with the thunder hammer before reinhardt has time to have an "oh shit" moment...
the only fair advantage I can see rein that could win is if he landed a earth shatter if the astartes was straight up running towards him and then immediately charge the moment the astartes gets staggered ramming him against a wall that alone should weaken the astartes power armor and allow him to land another swing that could be lethal, if he cant do that then then the astartes could dodge his hammer and then aim directly to his helmet and get the win another interesting character who could go toe to toe with a space marine would be doomfist, since his power fist can basically create a minature earth quake and send someone flying several hundred feet in a single punch if they can even survive the impact in the first place.
the only thing i know sombra could do to the marine is lock him inside his armor. if she tries to dismantle it, the machine spirit might just detonate itself which is horrible because the armor is nuclear powered. machine spirits are kinda strange atm tho because some can be put to bed while others are just too angry to be shut off or reasoned with. that said though a gravis marine vs rein could be interesting, gravis marines are a lot slower but more heavily armored plus because of their hood they have less visibility. perhaps an ogryn would be a better fight between rein and it.
people tend to forget that in overwatch there is 2 characters that can control/create black holes (Zarya & Sigma), one that can call for an orbital strike (Juno), one that can bend reallity (Symmetra), one that can transforms into a copy of Titus or Leandros (Echo), a super soldier is strong ? what about a super gorilla (Winston), they also have persons that can revive you, keep you from dying (Mercy, Baptiste, Kiriko), one that can become immortal (Zenyatta), one that uses the power of the sun as bullets (Illari), 3 that can call for powerfull spirits (Genji, Kiriko, Hanzo), 2 of which can melt you even within the armor (Genji, Hanzo), one that uses localised time travel (Tracer), and a bunch of other powerful ones you get the idea. Some space marine chapters forge their own weapons, armor, & custom vehicles only available to those chapters. Forge worlds even make titans & develope their own tech. The imperium can make & knows how tech works, they just don't know how dark age tech works or how to replicate it.
Now...what would happen if say, the Salamanders or Ultramarines found Overwatch Earth during the Omnic War, and then took a Rein in his prime and made him into a 'sort of' Space Marine, similar to Luther and Kor Phaeron....
What's really crazy is how strong a Space marine is kind a mid compared to other sci-fi based warriors especially in video games such as (Warframe, Star Craft, Destiny 1/2, esc). Mostly within their own universe does Space Marines really rule and the only way it counters others if they fight eras of lower scientific advancements (I use the three examples because they are the most similar in terms of technology StarCraft/Destiny: Imperium+Estartes and Warframe: Eldari+Necrons and afew chaos). But love the research into the video!
Warframe and Destiny guardians would definetly be able to stand up to and beat most space marines and probably some named ones. And I don't know much about starcraft but I know its very close to 40k in Asthetics so it might be close.
Even if Reinhardt and Sombra work together and would MAYBE have a chance against a Space Marine, then a Space Marine without armor would beat them both.
if you want to make the fight fair... just pretend the spacemarine going up against reinhardt is a lamenter he'd still win, but die from the wounds sustained
as much as I want overwatch characters to win against a space marine . . . BUT NO. all the space marine has to do is battle of attrition they can go on days of non stop fighting
To be fair, i think Rein VS An Astartes is pretty close, Reinhardt and the crusaders would still lose but its a pretty even and fair fight with both sides knowing Honor and would fight in glorious melee with heavy armor and weapons (unless we are talking about evil chaos marines but hey) And id say this is a much better match up compared to some absurd ones like SM vs Omniman...like wtf, a space marine is pretty realistic, they are just super enhanced soldiers with heavy armor and heavy weapons, we might actually see them in a hundred years or so, but theres no way in hell we will see a dude in a cape flying to another galaxy in a week But nice video dude, enjoyed it!
buddy, it isn't close, reinhardt has to have a slow stationary or range focused target to be effective. he gets the ground beef treatment if the space marine really has to
Not a bad Video, theres a few points where I take issue. 1: A space Marine is capable of running and fighting for days or even weeks on end requiring a Mere 4 hour rest between Extended Conflict. There is also very little requirement for them to take care of biological needs since the Armor does most of that for them. 2. Depending on the marks of power armor and the Machine Spirit/AI of the armor itself will determine how the Sombra matchup goes. That said a suitably advanced AI has hijacked Space Marine power armor before freezing them in place. However I am not 100% certain that this is as exploitable in current mark X armor as Primaris Marines are significantly Stronger than First Born and would likely be able to overcome thier armor servos locking. Most importantly in that context is the writer for the Space Marines and the Chapter/ Legion involved (the former GW writer Matt Ward for example would have an Ultramarine not notice and kill Sombra with a stray cough then spew some nonsense about courage and honor)
Even though I fully agree with this matchup, I do think it could be very fun to see a specialized space marine using one of their jump packs and power hammers fight Reinhardt, just to see who can utilize their movement abilities and hammer better (it's the space marine but still, very fun)
Honestly a space marine in crusader's armor is a terrifying thing to behold. Like if that's fitted for astartes use, we're looking at the equivalent of terminators in speed thrusters, and the barrier generator makes them perfect for all form of engagement. From boarding action, subterrainian combat, even open field, they can take it all. A terminator armor that trades a little protection for NO weaknesses Essentially the only real weakness to that armor is the pilot and material of the plates. Get it up to astartes grade then we got terminators in jump packs without mobility drawbacks
one thing you didn't consider (although it doesn't really change the outcome) is that space marines can live for hundreds of years, the oldest ones even being over 1000 years old, whereas Rienhardt in is prime is like 20-30, so battle experience is also hugely in the marine's favor
According my my math .75 caliber is roughly equal to 19mm if anyone wanted to ino Oh and edit, Mjolnir wasn’t designed for Spartans, Spartans were designed for Mjolnir. They created this real cool new armor that killed its user and had to have a soldier specifically designed for it.
1 thing tho is if she did take control the space marine can still control the suit bc of his own strength behind it as you can see how strong they are in the Retributors video when he got frozen by the magic
I don't think you can hack a closed system, so even if she is an expert hacker, like, how do you hack a literal calculator without opening it and manipulating it's hardware directly? A bit hard, though not denying it's possibility since i lack true knowledge on Overwatch.
A DaoT AI was able to turn off their armour without any direct link to their tech. Now obviously that's DaoT stuff but Sombra can literally just touch giant never before seen robots with her hand and make them do actions on the spot.
The armour also has a machine spirit inside it, which, depending on the kind of space marine, could affect it. Send in a techmarine and his technological expertise plus his devotion to machine spirits will just make Sombra obsolete
Yeah no. Sombra can't just "touch" a space marine and take control. All of these arguments are based on a 40k a.i. that stopped some space marines once. Go dig up the actual specs to any of the marks of power armor. my favorite, the mark 6, has no networking. The entire thing is merely an exo frame controlled by the marine's nervous system. there's nothing for her to hack besides trying to fry his communications and confuse his auto senses. Yet all that would need to be done is take the helmet off. The A.I. in question used something else entirely to freeze the marines in place. It used it's beyond quantum computing power to enact countermeasures to directly attack the components of the armor separately and simultaneously. All within the span of a few nanoseconds. A dark age A.I. would nuke Sombra if she ever dared try. In the face of the "Abominable intelligence" humanity is merely allowed to exist.
an unarmored space marine is still faster (and stronger) then most of the overwatch characters, and the ones he isn’t (tracer) he could easily kill by throwing a rock at her
The mechanicus would actually like the crucader energy shields especially for the guard and yes the imperium would actually use them because it's human tech also the armor would be easy to make using it for the guard

Space marine power armor doesn't work that way to get hacked and controlled to harm himself. Their armor isn't an Ironman suit. It's more like a medieval armor plate that is connected to fake muscle fiber bundles, that is powered by a mini reactor power pack on their back. There was a story where the Iron Hands chapter of the Space Marines, who loves replacing their flesh with augmetic robo arms and legs, got hit by an super powered EMP, which incapacitated most of their marines. However, those who had little to none of the augmetics were able to fight on. The only thing that wasn't working for them was their coms. The strength they receive comes from the fake muscle fiber bundles, not their armor. The icing on the cake is the black carapace that sits under their skin, which kinda sorta connects to the armor and makes the marine super agile even with the heavy plates. So most likely they both die saying NANI
Sombra's magic hacking isn't unlike the hacking of AI in the 40k universe from my understanding. I believe there was a story of an AI remotely locking the suits of a couple Astartes so it could chew out a Tech Priest for being so superstitous. So this would imply that an Astartes' power armor can be hacked, and it doesn't seem as if an Astartes' Black Carapace augmentation lends them any aid in overriding a hack.
By 40k rules, because Reinhart has a name and is shown without a helmet, he could probably take out a squad of standard Space Marines or the entire Lamenters chapter before he goes down.
man its so not close i aint even gonna watch the video, thats how not even close it is, it so not close, imma just start edging cuz hell IM NOT EVEN CLOSE (and its not even close)
I doubt a somber could hack power armor. Maybe she could hack the machine spirit(Artificial intelligence OF SORTS), but the armor is directly connected to the marine’s nervous system through the black carapace. So she isn’t even hacking the armor, but the marine themself, which is impossible as the only thing able to corrupt an Astartes mind would be the ruinous powers of the warp or chaos deamons.
Im pretty sure the power armour enhances a spacemarines streangth and its heavy as fuck, but even space marines can move around even if their armour's power supply is busted, so sombra would just weken him and he can always spit acid at anyone close enough, cuz as we all know you get plot armour if tou dont wear your helmet
Imperium fans when I say that their space kids with daddy issues are being killed left and right by green fungi, overgrown bugs and actual humans in modern day flak armour:
A Space Marine in his underwear dog walks the entire OverWatch cast with ease and I really don't see Sombra doing much as the Gap in advancement in technology is so wide that it would look like a foreign language to Sombra
common astartes are 7ft, with Primaris being slightly taller. the marine wins in terms of combat. but the difference in of base power, the crusader is strong man... the Space marine is a highly augmented super soldier. but I do not think that sombra can hack the marine armour, since it is not cybernetics or electronic in the most part, mainly it is the black carapace with the armour protecting that. the electronic systems are mainly power for the armour, and the equipment needed to keep them going for longer such as nutrient reservoir, vox and communications and visual feeds. I do not think she can cause the power armour to cease up or control them, maybe make them blind so they have to remove their helmets, could be a weakened enemy... but everyone named runs around without helmets anyway xD
counter to the sombra bit: tech in the warhammer universe for humans at least are powered by machine spirits (The void dragons influence) so unless she can actively mess with the machine spirit shes not doing anything--I mean sure maybe the men of iron or any abominable intelligence would be prone to her attacks but not really any mechanicus tech? or anything that any of the Adeptus Astartes (assuming we're not talking about the sons of the first) would have. And thats not really encompassing the fact that any legione Astarte doesn't really need their power pack to be on to move/still be affective in a fight--sure he couldn't dodge any attacks from Reinhardt if his armor was "hacked" but he could still knock Rein on his ass without his armor being on and his hammer/shatter wouldn't be able to damage the marine much at all? I mean sure big hammer go THWUMP but even with the marines thunder hammers that could be useful against ceramite (the material their armor is made of) you still need a fuck off slap from zeus himself (electric BAMF) to create a worthy impact to damage the marines war plate. Actually I'd say Reinhardt is a great contender for some of the Mock Astartes the Tau created (which I believe something like 20 of these fake astartes went against one ultramarine and they only wounded him slightly after the son of guillieman violated them all.) and even in that case the fake astartes that the Tau created weren't even considered battle capable by the Tau's standards they were only used as training dummies to practice against actual Astartes like it was a simulation.

Please keep in mind a marine is designed to be something that preys on what would be a apex predator on humans that's the purpose of space marines and there's a lot of predators about in wh40k
Oh power armour ain't getting hacked or the mechanicum would of used it as a fail safe against marines the mechanicum make marines power armour
Horus heresy would been rather short if the dark mechanicum could also infect marine power armour with scrap code

I think Sombra's hacking can be countered by praying on your average Astartes power armor refrigerator
Yes, it can
Or it may not. Hacking powerarmor like so did happened in novels.
however hacking is basically the same as a warp field

Space marines aren't immortal but they for sure can live for centuries or even millennia in some cases.
I'm pretty sure a singular guardsman with a lasrifle could probably kill reinhardt
All beef aside, Rein would be an amazing Space Marine, though I wonder which chapter he would take part of?
Def space wolves
Pretty sure the only thing sombra could mess with is their vox. Everything else is going to be standalone and require physical integration to be messed with. Good luck doing that with a space marine wearing their armor
I agree on most parts but I think Reins hammer would actually do decent damage against the marine. The marine would be able to dodge but if Rein gets a hit in the Marine would definitly feel that.
The Marine atill wins but I would put it closer to a 8 out of of 10.
8:06 you forgot about the machine spirit that lies within the armor
Heres how the fight goes in my head , im giving the marine a thunder hammer since its hammer vs hammer time! (im not going to give him a jumpack or power sword or iron halo as i think that would just be unfair)
- They square off, as both are basicly Sci-fi knights in heavy power armor and both have honor (well most loyalist marines i guess)
- Rein Charges at the marine, the astartes easily dodges with his superhuman reflex
- As Reinhardt turns around, the marine is already charging at him wasting no him
- Rein charges his earth shatter, the marine tries to jump or dodge but the radius is too big and he staggers as he is hit by the ultimate to his knees
- Rein comes in and whacks his hammer on the marines helmet , knocking him down...
- As he is about to finish off the astartes, the marine grabs the hammer as it is about to hit him, Reinhardt stunned by how fast his opponent recovered, flinches which gives the marine enough time to shove the hammer towards rein
-As rein staggers back, he is hit by a shoulder charge by the marine and falls, now the astartes starts to pummel his face with blow after blow of his gauntlet...
@@MarkOfTzeentchThen why are they not so fast in games?🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
@@crustybomb115Why the Blackwatch Squad die by a few Tyrranids? I thought they had super speed and super strength?
@@chris_P._bacōn98 They are fast, just look at boltgun.
I dont know man.... they keep buffing orisa.. the space Marines might have trouble fighting current day orisa. XD XD
I feel like sigma would be the best to try and stop a space marine with him controlling gravity and all
Assuming even sombra could decipher the technology of the 40k.
Sombra is gonna have nightmares if it's a techmarine
the only fair advantage I can see rein that could win is if he landed a earth shatter if the astartes was straight up running towards him and then immediately charge the moment the astartes gets staggered ramming him against a wall that alone should weaken the astartes power armor and allow him to land another swing that could be lethal, if he cant do that then then the astartes could dodge his hammer and then aim directly to his helmet and get the win
another interesting character who could go toe to toe with a space marine would be doomfist, since his power fist can basically create a minature earth quake and send someone flying several hundred feet in a single punch if they can even survive the impact in the first place.
A space marine versus Reindhart is like Spider-Man against a fourth grader
the only thing i know sombra could do to the marine is lock him inside his armor. if she tries to dismantle it, the machine spirit might just detonate itself which is horrible because the armor is nuclear powered. machine spirits are kinda strange atm tho because some can be put to bed while others are just too angry to be shut off or reasoned with. that said though a gravis marine vs rein could be interesting, gravis marines are a lot slower but more heavily armored plus because of their hood they have less visibility. perhaps an ogryn would be a better fight between rein and it.
I would love to see Sombra see a servo-skull and thinking it's a A.I
Id love to see 40k Space Marines massacre overwatch characters.
I don't know much about overwatch, but I think the entire overwatch roster could take on a tactical squad
people tend to forget that in overwatch there is 2 characters that can control/create black holes (Zarya & Sigma), one that can call for an orbital strike (Juno), one that can bend reallity (Symmetra), one that can transforms into a copy of Titus or Leandros (Echo), a super soldier is strong ? what about a super gorilla (Winston), they also have persons that can revive you, keep you from dying (Mercy, Baptiste, Kiriko), one that can become immortal (Zenyatta), one that uses the power of the sun as bullets (Illari), 3 that can call for powerfull spirits (Genji, Kiriko, Hanzo), 2 of which can melt you even within the armor (Genji, Hanzo), one that uses localised time travel (Tracer), and a bunch of other powerful ones you get the idea. I'm not saying they would win, but that would definitely not be unfair.
That's unfortunate because Reinhardt is easily the coolest Overwatch character
For a Space Marine the omnic war would have been a relaxing vacation.
Keep in mind: the space marines are mass-produced special trooper and they are nowhere near special as Custodians
Unless they are named. Than they are Godslayers.
if you want to make the fight fair... just pretend the spacemarine going up against reinhardt is a lamenter
he'd still win, but die from the wounds sustained
as much as I want overwatch characters to win against a space marine . . . BUT NO. all the space marine has to do is battle of attrition they can go on days of non stop fighting
To be fair, i think Rein VS An Astartes is pretty close, Reinhardt and the crusaders would still lose but its a pretty even and fair fight with both sides knowing Honor and would fight in glorious melee with heavy armor and weapons (unless we are talking about evil chaos marines but hey)
And id say this is a much better match up compared to some absurd ones like SM vs Omniman...like wtf, a space marine is pretty realistic, they are just super enhanced soldiers with heavy armor and heavy weapons, we might actually see them in a hundred years or so, but theres no way in hell we will see a dude in a cape flying to another galaxy in a week
But nice video dude, enjoyed it!
buddy, it isn't close, reinhardt has to have a slow stationary or range focused target to be effective. he gets the ground beef treatment if the space marine really has to
Not a bad Video, theres a few points where I take issue.
A terminator armor that trades a little protection for NO weaknesses
Essentially the only real weakness to that armor is the pilot and material of the plates. Get it up to astartes grade then we got terminators in jump packs without mobility drawbacks
*spits in your face* “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
one thing you didn't consider (although it doesn't really change the outcome) is that space marines can live for hundreds of years, the oldest ones even being over 1000 years old, whereas Rienhardt in is prime is like 20-30, so battle experience is also hugely in the marine's favor
According my my math .75 caliber is roughly equal to 19mm if anyone wanted to ino
Oh and edit, Mjolnir wasn’t designed for Spartans, Spartans were designed for Mjolnir. They created this real cool new armor that killed its user and had to have a soldier specifically designed for it.
did you make this vid for me? lol good stuff :D
reinheart is more the spacewolves
1 thing tho is if she did take control the space marine can still control the suit bc of his own strength behind it as you can see how strong they are in the Retributors video when he got frozen by the magic
I was like WTF is a Reinhardt
In the face of the "Abominable intelligence" humanity is merely allowed to exist.
an unarmored space marine is still faster (and stronger) then most of the overwatch characters, and the ones he isn’t (tracer) he could easily kill by throwing a rock at her
Wrecking ball would squish unarmored space marine into omelet.
The mechanicus would actually like the crucader energy shields especially for the guard and yes the imperium would actually use them because it's human tech also the armor would be easy to make using it for the guard
Nah, they will use tech they deemed worthy, if the Tech is belong to a race of soulless robots who selll they're souls to the Star Parasites, Smash and if it is belong to a race of retard communist fish people (Fucking Pass).
Bait used to be- HOLY SHIT IS THAT MAXIM FROM LIBRARY OF RUINA??????
reinhardt might be a fun guy, but he is like a tau space merine. big but lacks experience and proper gear
why is this even a question in the first place
Space Marine: Ya got spirit kid I’ll give ya that.
40K spacemarine would stomp most of them
Sombra's magic hacking isn't unlike the hacking of AI in the 40k universe from my understanding.
Awesome video keep up the good work.
Neat video. I think that Reinhardt and a space marine assault sgt. with a thunderhammer and a jump pack would have a lot of similarities.
It doesn’t even matter if it’s a firstborn or a primaris, they win with ease either way
By 40k rules, because Reinhart has a name and is shown without a helmet, he could probably take out a squad of standard Space Marines or the entire Lamenters chapter before he goes down.
Sombra sounds pretty gangsta. Until a Tech Marine shows up and cleanses her and her heretical hacking in the name of the Omnissiah.
man its so not close i aint even gonna watch the video, thats how not even close it is, it so not close, imma just start edging cuz hell IM NOT EVEN CLOSE (and its not even close)
Doomfist vs. a Space Marine would be better, but I’d give that to Doomfist imo
I mean Rynn's might had its whole crew dead an the tank was so pissed off an loyal to its crew mates its piloted itself an continued to kill orks
Imperium fans when I say that their space kids with daddy issues are being killed left and right by green fungi, overgrown bugs and actual humans in modern day flak armour:
The machine spirit will not be pleased with sombra
as someone who doesn't know shit about overwatch and barely anything about 40k, i have no idea what to expect
i know who i'm rooting for though
If they make a Warhammer 40k collab in overwatch I might just play Overwatch again
Actually I'd say Reinhardt is a great contender for some of the Mock Astartes the Tau created (which I believe something like 20 of these fake astartes went against one ultramarine and they only wounded him slightly after the son of guillieman violated them all.) and even in that case the fake astartes that the Tau created weren't even considered battle capable by the Tau's standards they were only used as training dummies to practice against actual Astartes like it was a simulation.
bro didnt even mention the chainswords being able to cut atoms
Reinhardt vs space marine? Interesting.
Now Sombra vs Machine?
Very interesting.
OR15 isnt a good comparison imo. Remember, Doomfist was said the be able to level skyscrapers not even in his prime, and he got chased away by Orisa
there is actually a deaf space marine in the lore... problem is, he'd still feel the vibrations long before rein gets close lmao
I feel like putting him against a Stormcast Eternal might’ve been a bit more fair.
An eight foot three inch tall demigod that is so racism vs big buff medieval knight with hummer and shield.
This makes me wonder what would happen if Reinhardt got the space marine enhancements he would be an absolute force of nature
