    I know I keep saying this but every time I pick this camera up I find something more to be impressed with. One tip for the photographers is to set the focus area to tracking center. Your can then half press the shutter with your subject in the middle and then hold it down and the camera will track it. This is an amazing feature for stills shooters. I use it with pretty good success tracking birds. Cheers

    Hi Everyday Dad,
    Your videos on the RX100 and competitors really helped me make an informed decision on my recent camera purchase. I've owned the Mark VII for around 24 hours now and am absolutely loving it.
    This video has also helped me work my way through the menus and settings.
    Many thanks for the valuable content!

    I have this camera and love it. There is however one big frustration for me. When you want to take a selfie, The shutter speed, ISO and f-stop are all covered up on the bottom of the screen when you flip it up. Why couldn't they make the screen so when you flipped it up, you could see the bottom info bar? It's basically impossible to see your settings. What a rookie mistake they made with this

    I got mine... I can’t use it, not because it’s completely unusable but i discovered a dead pixel on the LCD and in order to send it back it has to be like new so I haven’t even been able to play with it for fear they won’t take it back if it looks a little bit used. I have to send it back today 7-10 days to receive it back and process my return. A dead pixel doesn’t sound like the worst thing, but that I couldn’t even really play with it a little and it’s another 2 weeks before I maybe see another one, I wanted to use it this weekend. 😅

    I'd like to learn more about how shutter priority affects video! I tried looking it up, but all I get is photography stuff.

    • @pherrishill2570
      @pherrishill2570 5 років тому +1

      TheAndySan
      By using shutter priority you can set the shutter speed you desire and it will priorities that over aperture. So to get normal motion blur (say your camera is set to 4K 30p) than you would want to set your shutter speed to double the 30p, which is a shutter speed of 1/60. This means the motion blur of everything looks more like what your eyes see.
      🙂

    Bought rx100 vii to use as a web cam using the elgato camlink in 4k video. The camera overheats & shutsdown in 7 to 8 minutes. So it cannot be used as a webcam to stream video gaming with my pc & the elgado camlink . in 1080p, there are black bars on 3 sides of the webcam incert. Again, seems the Rx100vii can not be used with elgato camlink and can not be used for any videos longer than 7 minutes. I have a atmos but have not tried it. Suggestions please, since Im a new user to the RX100vii. Otherwise, any 4k video, even without the elgato webcam, but just regular 4k video, overheats in 5 to 8 minutes. Are there video settings to stop the overheating if the camera is used as a 4k webcam? so as a video camera, we must start and stop it every 4 minutes to avoid overheating and shutdown. So disappointing, help.

    It comes across loud and clear that this camera fascinates you. As you said - every time you pick it up you find something more ti be excited about.
    This enthusiasm is unfortunately in the way of staying focused. Guiding the viewer - those who are not familiar with the "techy lingo you are using" through the steps - would be more beneficial and result in practical learning - rather than understanding that this camera is fun.

    • @ChristopheLanglois
      @ChristopheLanglois 5 років тому +1

      I’d personally go for the A6400: I own it and I have just returned a RX100 VII... I really wanted it to be the perfect camera, but I was disappointed with picture quality indoors and it is far too small. Shame as the autofocus is second-to-none and the 4K video quality is pretty good in good lighting... it is far too expensive too IMHO. I’d say save some money and start with the A6400 and the 16-50 kit lens which will give you better quality than the RX100 VII. Either way, enjoy your new camera!

    • @MrJeffreylipata
      @MrJeffreylipata 5 років тому +1

      @@ChristopheLanglois thanks!!! i ordered it now....

    • @ChristopheLanglois
      @ChristopheLanglois 5 років тому +1

      Jeffrey Lipata you won’t regret it! And bear in mind all those youtubers (who I really like btw) switch from camera to camera every couple of months: the A6400 despite behind bigger than the RX100 VII will produce way better image quality with the kit lens and of course you can upgrade to some amazing lenses like: Sigma 16mm 1.4, sigma 30mm and my personal favourites the Sony 24mm 1.8, the Sigma 56mm 1.4. and the convenient Sony 18-135mm zoom lens! Anyhow, those were just my 2 cents. ;-D

    • @ChristopheLanglois
      @ChristopheLanglois 5 років тому +2

      The only drawback of the A6400 vs the RX100 VII is the lack of IBIS or digital stabilisation system: you might have to buy an inexpensive gimbal like the Crane M2 or the older and cheaper G6 Plus...

  • @sunlit777
    @sunlit777 4 роки тому

    rx100 vii would have been perfect if the screen would not dim in 4k, and if it would not dim even further when you connect a smartphone or gimbal via wi-fi.

      @sizzlemann 5 років тому +1

      No! Name a phone camera that can zoom out to 200mm and capture a sharp, usable picture.
