All the tutorials of fills be like: just figure it out! But hey, here I have a solid foundation to start that process! I don't think improvisation is something easy to teach, because it is just what it is Thanks for the great video! Here is a tip - communicate with the drummer, because when both of you fill at the same time, it benefits neither of you. It's not a bad idea to take turns, remember - someone has to keep the rythm!
Tip: filling with root ,fifth octave. If you learn the technique of pressure rolling good you can play root octave fifth by pressure rolling from octave to fifth and play fills fast

Your content is great and I hope that you keep on producing it because there isn't another bass teacher like you on UA-cam. Besides maybe Scott's BL but he's more of a jazzy guy.
Thank you John!
a very easy little fill that sounds pretty cool is ; you play the root note then the fifth and slide two frets up before playing the octave of the rootnote ;)
Easily the most straightforward video for beginner bass.
Cheers from a self-taught 20-year, plectrum-carrying, punk rock bassist that wants to finally learn how to play! The way you break down basic theory, shapes, and technique make me look forward to practicing again.
Add: Favorite bass fill of all time... Welcome to Paradise by Green Day was probably my intro to bass fills, so those stand out in my mind. Got a lot of mileage out of those in my teen years.
I've been binging youre videos and its been motivating me a lot to play a lot more than I used to
Aside from being very informative your videos are really fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!
Guitarists looking at the thumbnail: THAT'S A POWER CHORD SHAPE!
I love your video style! I love the little skits and funny stuff! I’m learning a lot and also getting amused.
wow! Bass made easy! thanks! love your channel!
All the tutorials of fills be like: just figure it out!
But hey, here I have a solid foundation to start that process!
I don't think improvisation is something easy to teach, because it is just what it is
Thanks for the great video!
Here is a tip - communicate with the drummer, because when both of you fill at the same time, it benefits neither of you. It's not a bad idea to take turns, remember - someone has to keep the rythm!
I bought your course and I can tell that it is amazing! It is helping me a lot!
Tip: filling with root ,fifth octave. If you learn the technique of pressure rolling good you can play root octave fifth by pressure rolling from octave to fifth and play fills fast
This has been one of my favorites lessons and references to other useful videos, thank you so much and keep it up!
You're welcome Elies!
Love your videos Josh, always educational and entertaining. Makes learning so much easier when you're having fun 🤘😎
Don’t even have a bass yet but I gotta study
Awesome video, well explained. Definitely gonna use that in my practice routine!
I wish there was a teacher like you for guitar and piano too
Right notes, weird rhythm: haha, that's stupid.
Weird notes, right rhythm: *nods* mm, jazz.
Picking up my bass again and these are helpful! Subbed 👍
Thanks!
