- How to do the Caio Terra ankle lock, an IBJJF legal leglock, with Rob Biernacki from The No Gi de la Riva Formula www.grapplearts.com/dlr
Watch Rob's match in which he hits this unique open guard footlock on his instagram channel here: / buh07d8ayhl - Спорт
I drilled this earlier in the week and for the life of me couldn't get it right. I now see Rob let's his Del Riva hook hang out where as I was trying to leave mine inside the leg. Thanks for the video cause I was thinking all week about this technique 😂
The Vegan Athlete Awesome. Hopefully that’s one of the missing pieces!
I had the pleasure of being ringside to witness the match firsthand live and I must say...it was awesome to see the finish!!
Great 👍🏼 setup...!!!!
this technique is way better than what I have been learning
Tremendous!
My training partner keeps hitting me with that. Now I know how to defend. Nice video
The best part of this video is Stephan making sure everyone knows what it means to 'spam' someone with a move
Great video. Like. 👍😊🙋♂️
this looks solid lol
Is there video showing him hitting it in the competition?
Joe Jr There is on his Instagram where he is @islandtopteam - And I will also include that video in a blog post I am writing at grapplearts
I saw Caio Terra do this the first time.
I need that rashguard lol
Is his left leg reaping or no I'm not that familiar with reaping???
Question: it seems like the ankle lock is coming on as Stephan falls backwards. Is that correct? If so, what steps should you take when using it with less experienced training partners? ( I.e. so you don't accidentally break their ankle if they fall back in an uncontrolled way)
It definitely hits the hardest as he is falling, it's shocking how fast it gets tight when you feel it. If you're worried about hurting your partner, sit up a little as they fall, it relieves some of the pressure. It also can give them a window to escape but that's the tradeoff for protecting someone that might not know to tap early.
Hi. I am a white belt. Should I try doing this? Or is it too dangerous for the knee?
I would first develop the lower risk leglocks like ankle locks and knee bars if they are allowed at your school. That way you learn control without running the risk of exploding someone’s leg
is this IBJJF friendly?
Yes
Assuming my opponent is good at this ,
I too will pull guard at the same time as him and butt scoop to avoid this lol.
i'm getting mixed results with this so far. sometimes i get it, sometimes people (mostly experienced belts) longstep pass me from the position
Are you keeping the other butterfly hook on the inside of his other leg to stop him from stepping?
@@StephanKesting they shed the hook right away, get a pant and a collar grip and perform a standard longstep pass. I think that I just need to get more proficient with the entry
@@sch2412 you can put the other foot on the hip, even on the chest to create distance.
We call that the Craig Jones lock..
Caio Terra FootLock *
This seems like it was born, by someone who had no idea what they were doing, tried to do straight anktbut ended up weird and the guy tapped 🤣
SPAMMIN'
Rob's last name is polish. It should be prenounced b-year-na-tz-ky
there is a set up, he just isn't using it..
You're guest needs to calm down and gather good thoughts.
He was rambling and couldn't even explain it
Leg locks aren’t technical imo
