Certainly lived up to the title (which is an increasing rarity on YT!). Taught with great clarity and demonstrations with detailed explanations. Great credit to Sathya who is passing on his knowledge as true martial artists do. His mentor also deserves a huge mention, shout-out to Heath Pedigo!
The details on the moves Bird has shown me have been absolutely critical to the techniques. I’ve gained so much more knowledge about Jiujitsu as a whole even while Andrew and bird have been teaching me specific moves. Props to them, their teaching level matches their belt level 💯
@@Carsahh I know it's a cliché but the devil is in the details. Those micro adjustments make so much difference to finishing the submission - the one about lengthening the ligament slightly in this tutorial is a solid example of that. It's a joy to watch your progression both on the mats and with the editing of the videos you generously post and I look forward to more in the future!
Oh that is nasty, absolute gold though with the explanation, I always wondered why I wasn't tapping people despite having good placement, the separation bit makes total sense I always thought it was all to do with the fulcrum and being tight.
Does the outside foot crossing over to the other hip count as reaping? I'd only be concerned if trying in an IBJJF rules tournament. Excellent vid and many thanks Bird!
@@Carsahh is there any chance you could upload the full video ? Such as details he explained or questions you might hace asked Anyway i love your Chanel and find it super helpfull and entreteining
@@Carsahh idk if it's just me but in the blue belt and arguably the purple belt completions (at least in saint Louis, Kansas, and Texas) not many people ankle lock and man when you fake passguard to go for ankle locks is beautiful. It's like they have no idea how to defend it. Until you run into a guy with rubber feet and then he passes your guard :'(
One thing I learned from Josh Barnett videos is that the placement of your arm is sub optimal. You want the bone of your arm/wrist facing up, so it slices into the leg. Your arm is flat. Since I started doing this, my sub rate went way up.
Funny how real Jiu jitsu players are “bad at names” when it comes to anything physiological and all the people who apparently “know” all the scientific terminology end up rightfully on mcdojolife 😂

I'm thinking it's not a reap now that I watched a rules tutorial.
Yeah I’m not sure, I believe in single x if you cross the foot over the hip in anyway it’s a reap. However, I’m not smart 😂
@@Carsahh 😆
Very nice tutorial 😊
Appreciate it 😊

Yessir 😤
Well done
Thank you 😊
What is Bird doing, when he gets stacked/smashed in SLX/Ankle lock?
I’m not sure and unfortunately I have left the Wiltse establishment already 😭
I've found that transitioning to an x guard sweep is a good option. I love straight ankles and this video is great!
Thanks now I can finally put that spazzy white belt in my gym outta commission
My bread and butter. Ankle lock game
Trying to get like u 😂

@@genises200 I used to fall for ankle locks all the time, now I let people wrap onto it so I can stand up 😂
@@Carsahh and I will now use the brothers method if somebody stands up to bring them down!
