He can shift his size down to that of a human, but since he is a Startouch Elf, he's basically a physical god, and as such his true physical/mortal form (along with those of other Startouch Elves) is gargantuan/titanic compared to us humans. Of course in various media, the true forms of physical gods and/or goddesses vary depending on the series, continuity or something like that 🤔.
he may even think Tidebound Elf Archmage if he killed the old king who has the spell to unlock him and avizandum and even human elf who made the jail unless he knows he the only one that got that spell to unlock his jail doors to free him
This looks to be before he was imprisoned. "We are all stardust, held together by love." This line makes me think Aaravos committed the trope of doing unspeakable horrors in order to try and bring someone back, or to punish someone who took his love away.
I mean, given the direction the series is going in (gestures to the blood-soaked Claudia in the season trailer), a brief existentialist aside akin to one of the Souls games is not all that unexpected.
no because I literally almost started to cry when he was crying. I seriously think he's not faking it. His cry sounds like as if a cosmic/higher being was crying
@@jkranites I think he just shifted the responsibility to his daughter, and lied in the story. According to all the legends, it was Aaravos who gave people magic. Leola was ill, she was born with abnormalities. There are a number of hints about this and she even had only one horn. He decided that if he put the blame on his daughter, then the others would just forgive her for it. Well, she's just a sick child, right? But it didn't work out.
Ok ( for fun) ....Sarai couldn't have grown up that fast after having been born as a startouch elf ( say she died 12 years ago) .... But what if that was Sarai in her previous birth ..
Where are they, why is Aaravos crying, who’s that comforting him, so many questions from one scene but at least we know that book six is just around the corner
My theory is that at one point Aaravos met and either fell in love with or befriended a human long before Zadia was split and humans were banished to the west. But something bad happened to the human, (hurt, sick, starved, killed etc…) and he believes they could’ve been saved easily with the elves magic but the elf and dragons policies of “no magic for humans and you’re beneath us” sealed her fate. And that broke him. So he went against his people and taught humans dark magic, we see in that flashback, that ancient human dark mage says he was gifted/taught his staff/dark magic by someone powerful and that the humans were using it to improve their lives, but I bet that wasn’t enough, aaravos wants all the dragons and elves to suffer for taking the one earthly thing he loved, so he manipulated humans and elves and spread more lies and chaos…it would also explain why he seems to have a soft spot for humans but disdain towards his own people.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I watched. It's actually kind of painful to listen to and almost sounds like a bad fandub, which is weird because his voice actor has always done a really great job.
It is rather hard to convincingly voice act crying, an emotion involving so much more than one's voice, and combined with Aaravos' deeper-toned voice, some narm is to be expected, I think. Besides, he's a very melodramatic character, something that modern audiences have some trouble taking seriously.
@@thirdcoinedge i can take melodramatic characters seriously, it just depends on the circumstance and performance. but you do have a point about voice acting for crying. i just think maybe the voice directors could have given the actor some tips or let him take a few more tries.
