I'm American but lived near Oxford briefly as a kid from middle of 2000 to end of 2001. I honestly think Top of the Pops is what got me into metal and punk. Saw so many great acts for the first time Linkin Park, Blink 182, Sum 41 and Limp Bizkit to name a few. Truly was one of the best times as a kid discovering new music.
It was a common problem in that era... Engineers were used to mixing drums, guitar and lead vocals, all of a sudden there's these bands with samplers and DJs and they were so often mixed too low or even mixed totally out!
This truly was their prime time; The worlds biggest and the phattest rock band! It's so sad what they have become today, they don't even can write song likes this anymore. Instead they do songs with Lil Wayne, and release pure garbage like Endless Slaughter...
I'm no mixing professional, so i shouldn't talk out of turn, but when I listen to the album track and the performance, i feel like Durst's vocals are genuine here. Perhaps they cut the mic's audio around the no-no words, i think that because of a tiny slip up near the end of the song.
You can see Wes' chocolate rabbit on one of the speakers. Amazing how he still has it 16 years later.
I'mSlowlyDying it won’t be with Lil Wayne because Limp Bizkit left Cash Money records
@@QFSAviation didnt they split up with the label?Anyways now they make a new record
So fun fact, its not chocolate, its ceramic. Wes posts about it on his insta
This was top of the pops golden era 1997-2003 as the producer Chris dowdy's had alot of bands playing live and even gave airtime to metal like this
