I swear I have done this exact thing before while out for a walk. I was raised by a grandfather who was a Carpenter. I lost him a few years back and the smell of wood or a construction site takes me straight to my childhood and reminds me of him. You never know what is going on in a persons head. I feel horrible for this young man and his family.
I grew up walking thru unfinished construction sites. Lots of people do. If i bunch of guys try to run over me with a truck then jump out with a shotgun pointed at me you can be sure i will try to grab it too.

@cj p people with no intent to kill don't whip out guns for suspected misdemeanors. A fact someone dabbling I'm law enforcement should know... unless that was included in the cop testing McMicheals never managed to EVER complete. These things tend to happen with one's education or lack thereof as is the case here, when ones mama is also ones sister as is undoubtedly the case with this inbred illiterate troglodyte and the kid his sister made him
@Çerastes sorry... no criminal trespass. The video proves this. Look up the actual law. Youre like McMicheals...just because you think you know the law does it mean you do. But let's entertain your nonsense for a second. Let's assume that you are correct and that a Criminal Trespass occurred. You just damned the McMichaels and convicted them of murder, thank you! How so? What is trespassing? Is trespassing a misdemeanour or a felony? I ask you in relation to this something called the actual law: 2010 Georgia Code TITLE 17 - CRIMINAL PROCEDURE CHAPTER 4 - ARREST OF PERSONS ARTICLE 4 - ARREST BY PRIVATE PERSONS § 17-4-60 - Grounds for arrest O.C.G.A. 17-4-60 (2010) 17-4-60. Grounds for arrest A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge. If the offense is a felony and the offender is escaping or attempting to escape, a private person may arrest him upon reasonable and probable grounds of suspicion. Not only does it turn out that he did not have any reasonable or probable grounds for suspicion because the video shows that there was none, he was hypothesizing and anticipating and assuming that the offense that was committed was a misdemeanour which does not give him the right to chase anyone down or detain anybody especially at fucking gunpoint. It is amazing the lengths you racist will go to to try to condone a simple bad situation
@Çerastes so show me where under either a) Or b)1-3 where Arbery violated any of these and provide the video or eyewitness evidence to support your claims of such violation. Also note that it is classified as a misdemeanour. Go back to the post I just made a few minutes ago and see what Georgia law says about misdemeanors vs. Felonies when it comes to citizen's arrest. I'm starting to think that this is probably little too complicated and beyond your intelligence level so maybe you should forget all of this and just go back to your Nintendo in your mom's basement
@Çerastes what no trespassing sign? As I said...even IF this was a trespass its a misdomeanor and no grounds for a weaponized citizens arrest as our CNN host has clearly outlined. And what does a no trespass sign mean? To not be on the property for any illegal purpose as outlined by law. You can hypothesize that he was there to commit some sort of illegal activity, even though there was no actual illegal activity making your hypothesis complete conjecture and based on no solid evidence. I on the other hand can conversely hypothesize that Arbery was there looking for someone, perhaps to gain employment, which is more likely the scenario based on the video evidence, but at any rate is nothing more than my own hypothesis and opinion. Whether it's my opinion or your opinion as to what his motives are our personal opinions don't matter when there is no evidence to support either one. We can't make up or determine what Arberys motives and intentions are in his head. We cannot ascertain what is mensn rea is we can only go by his actus rea and by his actus rea or actions he had no criminal intention because he committed no criminal acts as outlined under Georgia law. Race bait that's what you guys always try to claim to abscond yourself from the racist shit that you try to pull off. Idk. Not buying he wasn’t involved with the McMichaels. They mention surveillance and it looked like the shooting car was in the driveway while Arbery was scoping the house.
Just hearing the home owner say that he never reported fishing equipment missing, leads me to believe that the men who killed Arbery, were the one's who really stole the "bait & tackle." Even a female neighbor said she does not want any part to do with them. The Mcmichaels are on the own!
It is not a justification for the shots fired, but its perhaps a justification for the McMichaels choice to pursue Arbery for a citizen's arrest. And yes, I realize the McMichaels didn't see him trespass... Unfortunately Georgia's citizen arrest laws are unclear. They could have tried if they had 'immediate knowledge' of a crime.... The difficulty is... if they were misinformed by others that he had stolen something... does that mean they thought they had 'immediate knowledge'?
@Kay Lewis Kay I completely understand you. In fact, I've even been in a similar situation with police officers in the past where I trespassed technically out of curiosity with no intent and yet I was detained by them. But please also be rational in your assessment of the McMichaels as well. They clearly did not set out in pursuite of Arbery with the intention of killing him. Gregory the father was on a 911 call while the actually shooting took place. This proves that they authentically thought they were pursuing a criminal. This is not a case of pre-medidated murder.

I know , a death sentence, or any punishment really, for the two men who lawfully defended themselves against a violent thug is completely unreasonable.
The most disturbing thing about this entire thread of the story is that the black victim is immediately cast as a criminal and/or an aggressor. Here's a FACT: even if Arbery did commit a crime (which he did NOT!!), the men who hunted him down had no right to even affect a citizen's arrest. You must have seen the crime committed at the time you use that statute to be able to stop, question or detain another person. There was no reason for them to "grab a shotgun" and try to play vigilante.
Arbury escalated the situation He engaged in the fight for the gun. What was mcmichael supposed to do at that point? Just let him take it away? Possibly get shot with his own gun? As a kid I worked with my family on construction and it was almost normal to have people come on a site just to check things out. If we were there it would be “what are you building?” Or “who is the owner?” Mostly nosey neighbors with no ill intent.
I'm glad that the property owner is setting the record straight about what happened on his property being used as a get out of jell free card for these three men who committed murder against this young man

My wife and I just recently did something similar. We walked into an under construction site to see about how the build was going because we are using the same builder. As we walked through, my wife turned to me and brought up the fact this is what he was likely doing the same. Realizing the brief interaction we just did resulted in someone else being killed hit really hard. I hope they are brought to justice. Ecclesiastes 9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.
There's a whole new neighborhood of 30 ish houses being build 10 minutes walk away from us. We walk by it, and sometimes in it almost everyday in the two years that it was being built. Sometimes we go into the houses being built to see how everything is done. The builders or the managers didn't care at all.
Paul Paul neither does trespassing justify two private citizens with firearms killing the individual. It was unnecessary and hope they are held accountable accordingly.
airrun88 I have done it before for boarded up/abandoned houses...I am a real estate investor and look for houses to flip. Never truly considered thought it could lead to someone’s death. Tragic!
Many people including myself have explored construction sights especially as a kid , not even to steal anything just to see the process. Construction sites are like a museum in some ways .
Because the killers were attempting a citizens arrest, when he attacked one of them and tried to take his shotgun. It's pretty important to know if they are telling the truth, or not. In this case, they were. They had every reason to believe he was a burglar.
@@castanza128 deadly force or the threat of deadly force is not permissible while attempting a citizen's arrest. That then becomes a crime of unlawful detainment, terroristic threats, assault, battery - just to name a few

Bailey found the interview that was done with a news reporter. He then set Furman up perfectly. Couldn't see the color drain from Furman face tho. TVs weren't that good back then. TheTruthIsRacist what are you talking about? It wasn’t their house. He checked the mid-built house out for a few minutes and left. Something thousands of people have done. So that’s ok for a neighbor to chase you down and kill you? And it wasn’t at night. You should delete your page.
I frequently visit homes in the process of being built; enjoy seeing examples of professional carpentry, insulation installation, etc. being professionally installed. I have no intention of stealing simply enjoy seeing houses being built. I will never do that again!!!!!!
That was a misprint I want to tell Mister English I appreciate him standing up you coming forward if he has Sons it's showing them a great example of a man

@discorperted Why have citizens arrest laws to detain until police get there? Why would you assume that the person breaking the law you are trying to detain does not have a weapon? They were perfectly legal to do what they did
They use to shoot cattle thieves however I see no evidence guy committed a crime and no way they should be judge jury and executioners when no crime committed.
I would finish the rehab & sell it! I wouldn't even want to live near where the McMichaels live! Who knows what the KKK or Neo-Nazis in that area would do to take revenge!
@@along58 Don't speak too soon... We have no idea who this man called and asked to check on his house after he got the alert on his phone... We don't know what that conversation entailed.... Did he call the guy that was filming. Did he then tell the McMichaels and then all 3 of them set off looking for Ahmaud...
K-Y K-Y you’re right that We don’t know what the conversation entailed, but we do know that he and his family were two hours away and that he and the Suspects have both said that they didn’t know one another before hand. Also, this home owner has given information that actually helps to defend Ahmaud so for now I just hope that his family is doing alright.
You need to research GA laws on citizen's arrest and burglary. You have no idea just how ignorant you sound. And reference my earlier post, they claimed he was out for his morning jog, but he lived 12 miles away from there, so that's a 24 mile morning jog at minimum. Nobody does that. So basically we will have to wait and see that the investigation reveals he was dropped off at the neighborhood by an accomplice (that is conjecture on my part, but a very likely event).
People walk through construction sites of homes all the time. When we built in a new neighborhood, every neighbor walked through our house because they were interested in what our house looked like-perfectly normal.
Cowards probably would've called the police if they believed that; but they didn't believe it, they were hunting. With intentional murderous intent. Plain and simple
I now have a different perspective when attempting to walk through a house that is being built! So happy that the home owner was able to clear up some of the misconceptions because his testimony destroys the McMichael's so called defense of a citizen's arrest.
I am very worried for the safety of the construction site owner. His debunking of the so-called rash of burglary claims in the area, (along with the police department's own records) and the cited fishing equipment being on a boat, not a structure as claimed and moved to a location two hours away from the area-at-issue, are certain to make him a target to some individuals for not sustaining the ' Arbury was a menacing thug looking for trouble' narrative.
Trespassing with intent is a crime. Running from a crime scene is also. Resisting arrest is also a crime. Trying to grab a gun is a crime. Are you really that stupid?
@@two_tier_gary_rumain Where did the "crime' part come from? The homeowner stated he didn't believe there was theft was involved so what crime are you referring to? Did you see the interview??? Also, what made you state "Resisting arrest is also crime", because if you are referring to the case, *neither the father nor son had the authority to make an arrest*! Are you really that stupid????
@@MsBabs071 Miss Barbara save your effort. As you noted, the claims of "crime" and "trespassing", not even supported by the property owner, are an attempt to defend what can't be defended. The death threats against that property owner show the type of cowards America still has to deal with. When people can bring themselves to attempt to justify taking deadly action against an unarmed individual who committed the sin of not bowing down and surrendering because he was told to by two entitled murderers, shows that dishonor and animal level predators are still as much a cause to deal with in 2020 as they were in 1820. Feel sorry for them.
@@MsBabs071 Having read some of GR's other posts, you would have a better chance of reasoning with a bag of bricks than this guy. I honestly think he skipped the interview with the actual owner of the property and just went straight to the comments.
Construction sites are notorious for thefts for precisely that reason. It turns out stealing tools and building materials from open and unguarded buildings is quite profitable and easy. I know this having worked on construction sites myself. He was trespassing on property that he did not own, regardless of his intent or whether or not he actually stole something. That makes him suspect. It is not unreasonable therefore to at least confront the man and ascertain his intent. It is also not unreasonable, considering such suspicion, to do so with a weapon for defense. Ahmaud might have been well within his rights to attack the men if he perceived them as a threat with his life in danger (reasonable considering they attempted to stop him with weapons), but that right isn't extended only to him - even if he was in the right and they were in the wrong. The moment he made the decision to physically attack them - right or wrong - made their decision to defend themselves with a deadly weapon justified. Horrible, tragic, devastating . . . but justified.
@@godless1014 Nothing is justified about this situation. LET THE POLICE DO THEIR JOB!. If they felt he was suspicious call the darn police and report it! This whole situation makes me take a step back bc while we were building our house (in a new community) I walked into other houses to see how different theirs were in comparison to mine and others walked into mine. Never would I have thought someone could possibly kill me for that... Until now. What I don't understand is even if they thought he stole something, when they caught up to him, did he have anything in his hand? No he didn't so there should have never been a pursuit.
We did the same. And as a side note. During the crash of 2008. I can't tell you how many homes i have walked up to. Foreclosures. Peeked in . As i was walking. Never went in but walked around. Because people were leaving pets. An awful occurance then. I would never think someone would kill for this. Racially motivated.
Welcome to the USA. Technically a girl scout selling cookies can be shot for trespassing. It's a messed up dangerous place full of people who are looking for any excuse to evoke the first amendment and castle doctrine. They value private property over peoples lives, even when it isnt even their own property. They will even treat their own families like property. I come from a republican family, they are all armed and support "stand your ground". I've had to tell them "I am not your property! Don't kill in my name!"
C'mon, this was a pretextual ruse; because they got caught for being the idiots they were. They knew he hadn't stolen anything, otherwise there wouldn't have been a fight they'd've just killed him straight out and produced the stolen evidence to get away with it.
Wow! I had my house built also and thought nothing of people looking at my house during the built or likewise looking in other homes being built trying to figure out the style or layout. I didn't see the harm in doing so. It makes you rethink this.
We did too. We went to our development once a week. As i said in other comments. As an avid walker during the crash there were so many foreclosures, i always walked up and took a peek. Around the yards, because people were leaving pets. Never went in. I guess i was trespassing. Never thought you could get shot over it. I believe it was a hate crime. Pure and simple.
Arbery was being attacked by two armed individuals who had intercepted his path with a vehicle and then demanded that he stop. The two armed individuals tried to unlawfully detain Ahmaud Arbery and illegally brandished their weapons in order to intimidate and frighten Ahmaud Arbery into complying with their unlawful attempt to detain him. It is ILLEGAL to brandish a weapon for the purpose of coercing or intimidating another person. The fact that the father and son were engaged in the criminal act of trying to illegally detain Ahmed Arbery while brandishing weapons means that the father and son DO NOT get to claim self defense to justify their actions and they had no lawful right to 'stand their ground'. You don't get to claim self defense or 'stand your ground' when you are yourself engaged in criminal activity that predicates the situation. As a matter of fact, if anyone dies as a result of your illegal behavior, then the 'felony murder' statute kicks in and you are guilty of murder. In fact, if Ahmaud Arbery had chosen to try to run away from his attempted kidnappers and then got ran over by a bus and died, it would still be a felony murder case against the father and son.
you are completely right, but that young man is a dumbass for going for his gun. He should have just stopped. Time and time again i see videos of black people resisting arrest and doing dumb shit, as if, there is any outcome possible that doesn't end up with them getting arrested. Those men are murderers. If I was him, I would have just stopped sat on the side of the road and called the cops myself. There was no possible good outcome for him with the actions he took.
J Silva I disagree and that’s okay. If he had of called the police or fought for his life. The outcome would have still resulted in death. They guys would have killed him or either the police officer. Out of respect for the deceased calling him a dumb ass is uncalled for. It’s okay we agree or disagree. We’re all entitled to our opinion.
Unfortunately this isn’t a form of trespassing, a construction site is a leased ground from the city in which a company/contractor files & receives a permit from. Unless you post visible signs saying no trespassing, work is being performed or asked by the “permit to work” holder it’s completely legal to step into the job site.
That was extremely wrong what they did to him my🙏 condolences go out to his family may God bless you, 💖💖🙏

But let's entertain your nonsense for a second. Let's assume that you are correct and that a Criminal Trespass occurred. You just damned the McMichaels and convicted them of murder, thank you! How so? What is trespassing? Is trespassing a misdemeanour or a felony? I ask you in relation to this something called the actual law:
2010 Georgia Code
TITLE 17 - CRIMINAL PROCEDURE
CHAPTER 4 - ARREST OF PERSONS
ARTICLE 4 - ARREST BY PRIVATE PERSONS
§ 17-4-60 - Grounds for arrest
O.C.G.A. 17-4-60 (2010)
17-4-60. Grounds for arrest
A private person may arrest an offender if the offense is committed in his presence or within his immediate knowledge.
@Çerastes so show me where under either a)
Or b)1-3 where Arbery violated any of these and provide the video or eyewitness evidence to support your claims of such violation.
Also note that it is classified as a misdemeanour. Go back to the post I just made a few minutes ago and see what Georgia law says about misdemeanors vs. Felonies when it comes to citizen's arrest.

@Çerastes what no trespassing sign?

When people can bring themselves to attempt to justify taking deadly action against an unarmed individual who committed the sin of not bowing down and surrendering because he was told to by two entitled murderers, shows that dishonor and animal level predators are still as much a cause to deal with in 2020 as they were in 1820. We know he didn’t take anything. Only thing there was building materials. None of which was on his person.
