Rabbit's Dad sounds like my Dad. My Dad worked for and retired from GM, but I bought a 84 Mustang SVO and my Dad would not even sit in it. He didn't even like it in front of the house and I had to park in the grass at the side of the house from a street that didn't go in front of the house lol.
People would pay BIG money for that SVO now! They are stinking rare, I love that weird looking inverted type cowl hood!

Rob Rocks!!! Rob is almost as good as Gabe!!! Hey now, Ford has the best V6 out there. The 3.7 has 300 HP and gets 30 MPG. How can you beat that?

What a vlog! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always visit the Peppermill restaurant while in Vegas, the Rabbit’s description of it is bang on.
The C4s needed the TPMS. You could lose pressure in one of the gatorbacks on the drive axle and never even know it until the rubber started breaking apart and bang around on the body. At the time, the sidewalls were unusually short (can't say that today), so just looking at the tires it's possible to miss a flat. Happened twice in our family's 1986. Like you all said, it was slow by today's standards but not by those of the mid 1980's. I'm with you JohnRoss, the pre-facelift C4's are more attractive...

When I first met my wife I helped her trade a Jeep Cherokee XJ for her dream car which was a new Beetle and we found her a 2000 called the Y2K bug... it was Sunshine yellow and she owned it for four years and put 80000 miles on it until unfortunately an oil change chain wrecked the motor and burnt her out on it being so unreliable.... but she let me customize the car and I have to admit even though it's just a to El Dorado and not terribly fast it was smooth comfortable and very safe and it was a lot of fun to drive... that car was a downright Diva she named them Bruce and I had one of those little slip bras because the original Hood had rust and I put a VW mustache on the car cuz she wanted the logo to be seen.... she own this car in 2012 and I thought about raising it on big tires cuz it was so low we damaged the oil pan a couple times. But she ended up letting me customized and fine-tuning and adding Porsche elements to the car write down to the only Wheels I could find that look the part Chevy Cavalier have the same bolt pattern and with wheel spacers I was able to get the right look... I actually missed the car and if you send me an email address I'll send you some photos of of Bruce
I love C4 Corvettes, particularly the 80s versions because of the dash layout. They are fairly light cars, around 3200-3300 lbs. Get the engine modded to 350-400hp and they are an absolute blast and can take on many cars with up to 500 hp that may weigh quite a bit more. The driving experience is raw, you really feel the road like in no other car. Some call it harsh, I call it real. On smooth pavement, the ride is silky smooth, but you will feel every crack, manhole cover, and dip the road has to serve up. Not the best daily driver, but man does it not suck to break up the bland monotony of most cars.

Funny how you mention the LT1 and the optispark. Its about $160 for an optispark, which isn't bad! Love my '94 Roadie wagon. I've never had a V8 powered car and for me this is a game changer. I call my RMW a Corvette in khakis. Its Tan too!

Best thing I've seen from the show (via vid) has to be the 6 speed electric Mustang, and I'm not an electric car fan, but 1k ft-lbs of instant torque is hard to argue against.
I actually enjoyed Rabbit's presentation in this video more than I have in the VW videos he's done recently. (Also, glad to see you at SEMA kicking *bleep*. Great delivery, and improving each episode. The derivative has a very nice uphill, mogul-like pattern.)

I myself am in love with the LT1 motors in the big old be bodies and I've owned half a dozen Roadmasters and would love to see you maybe do an LS swap on one of those. Great Cars easy to work on even with the LT1 quirks way more power in stock form and the Jaws that drop when you outrun kids in your Grandma mobile

Ummm, I think there are probably thousands upon thousands of highly skilled automotive guys in Germany, Japan and elsewhere that dont go to SEMA. Just saying!! SEMA doesnt even represent 10% of the automotive world. The best mechanic I have ever met in my life was from Canton area in China and I am quite sure he has never been to SEMA. He probably doesnt even know what SEMA is.
