Hope you guys can take a little something from this. That “Rubber Ball” mentality has served me well in life. Hope everyone is having a great week ! We are dropping two vids from here on out on the channel. See ya Friday at 10:30 am est. - Rabbit 😎

Man, was not expecting the story to be this way. You're a good guy man. Sorry that this happened to you but glad to see how it helped mold you after. Many men would not have been able to handle this ... and so well at that.
Great story Rob! Know how you feel sadly... Fathered a child for 18 months and found out after a dream I had that the child might not be mine, woke up ordered a paternity test and got the same results you got. She knew the whole time it wasn’t my child, only claimed it was mine cuz of my family’s money. Anyways thanks for sharing your story, a lot of shitty evil people out there and you can’t let them put you down.

But you still lost a son, and I cant imagine how you felt. my ex cheated on me several times while married, but claim both my kids are 100% mine. I got full custody of both kids, and been raising them since they were babies. I never done a DNA test, because I don"t want to find out they aren't biologically my kids, because they are my kids 100%.

My ex did the same thing and then expected child support, where did the value of family go in todays women? I have 100% custody and my kids made me a better person. Fathers like you let me know that I'm not alone, Thank you
I did too because you never hear Rob mention anything about kids and as a dad You always mention them for obvious reasons glad the little boy is ok and hopefully living a good life .
You guys raising children on your own that you love and aren’t even sure they’re yours, are definitely angels to those children! They are blessed to have you as their father and you are awesome for being there for them! Somehow we never hear this side of the broken family story!!
@@kevintucker3354 Every situation is different but what Eddie said describes my situation. I'm glad you appreciate fathers because most people don't. I fought tooth and nail to get my kids out of a situation I didn't create and I had nothing to do with. It was a fight you wouldn't believe and nobody will probably ever understand. However, it was a fight I won. As hard as it's been and as much as I've fought and as difficult as it gets sometimes the truth is I am one of the luckiest men in the world. Most fathers never get to be me no matter how hard they fight and It's the greatest pleasure of my life to care for my girls and I don't give a damn what some test would say. I fought like hell to get my girls home and I have the documentation to prove it. I am their father and I'm raising my girls and I will give them the best life I can because they mean everything to me. It's me that's blessed. Thanks.
My oldest son’s name is Kam (Kamron). I drive a truck and Kam loved listening to rabbit so we would pass the time just listening to rabbits videos on repeat. So I know I’m 43 and my son is 24 so 2 different generations but we both loved hearing his stories together. 🙏🙏 prayers for his family. Truly one of a kind. RIP Mr Rob “rabbit” Pitts
I don't wish he was my dad. My dad is an amazing man that worked his ass off for my brother and I. Nobody could replace my dad. That said, I wish Rabbit was my uncle or neighbor! He's an absolute riot and seems to be a pretty awesome guy
Janes Fair not me because I wouldn’t want to be a father to a lying cheating mother. A wife that cheats is scum of the earth and doesn’t deserve to live
My God, this man was amazing. I’m re-watching his clips, and listening to his stories again, and I’m still learning from him. He was one of a kind, and always kind to me. That’s right, Rob Pitts carried on conversations with me on different platforms, and ALWAYS made me feel like a personal friend. He just had that gift, and shared it so well. I will miss him, and never forget him
"You gotta be like a rubber ball. the harder you get thrown down the faster you bounce back up" That hit me hard since my mother passed away 6 days ago. Thanks for this video it was very good.
Watching this because you passed away yesterday not the first time ive watched this video definitely not my last . Im going through break up of 3 years and this video gives me motivation to keep moving that rubber ball mentality sticks in my head . Rest in peace rabbit thank you for all the amazing storys and advice i know your on to your next big plan
"you gotta be a rubber ball, because every moment you're down, they're winning" Unbelievably strong words from your father, thank you for your story Rob.
Hey youtube.. I just seen Rabbits video regarding his Good Bye video My life will never be the same, I been minister to the extreme by this Guy today Good Bye man.. hope your in Heaven
Watching this for the first time after the passed! What a gem this man is opening his heart to his deep darkest time but willing to share because there was such a great lesson to it
OMG, Just hearing about Rob’s passing today on Tuesday 8-27-24! I haven’t heard anything from him in a while thinking everything was OK. I saw a random post saying “Goodbye Rabbit!” I thought definitely click bait! Ole, Rabbit trying to catch my attention again in his usual comical fashion. Reading on I’m REALLY feeling crushed about this loss. I didn’t want to share him; he was my person to help me through a rough patch. I will forever miss Rob “Rabbit” Pitts and ALL his stories that made me smile when nobody else could!#R.I.P.#Run”Rabbit” Run!#🐇
DoItWithMatt Hang in there. As Rob says, you can bounce back. A few years ago, I went through a horrendous divorce, where I thought my life had ended. In the end, I kept the kids, the house, and a lot more $ than expected. Stick with it, and you can bounce back. I also got the dog and 2 cats, so I don’t know if I won. ;)
No matter how bad it is now, don’t worry it always gets better. Be the best you you can be. Don’t stoop to childish levels and be the person you want to be.
Hey brother we all need a shoulder up at times in life but always remember this, unless it’s life or death nothing is as bad as it first seems , bad times pass and they always will , nothings permenant you got this 💯
Rabbit. What you went through is so much like what I did, around the same time in my life. My dad told me pretty much what yours told you, as did my mom. This was back in 2001. My divorce was finalized in 2004, with the same delays, for the same reasons. Met up with an old friend, raising her daughter alone, a few years later, ended up marrying her in 2006, been together since. Ended up with medical problems, became an amputee around that time. Wonders of prosthetics I still drive a stick, and still ride the bike. Still hunt and fish. My parents were not people who quit or let life defeat them, dad being a retired marine, mom and he were married 32 years, until she passed I. 2003. Both have a positive outlook on life, and that it will get better us a given, this setback is only temporary. Greatest gift they gave, is that outlook. Thank you so much for sharing this story. It was years ago, but it's always nice to know you are, or were, not alone.
This really hit home being that the mother of my daughter had some random man to leave my child and her brother (who’s not mine) on my porch at the ages of 2 and 11 months...I raised them both without any contact from her for 10 years. I raised Donovan as my son...this touched my soul! Big ups to you man!
As someone who is on their 3rd marriage (24 years with my present wife) & who can't have children this was a heartbreaking story to listen to. Thank you Rabbit for a very inspiring life lesson, it really got to me my friend!
I wish I could have seen this 12 years ago when I was going through depression. Maybe I could have recovered faster instead of wasting 12-13 years of my prime. Thanks for sharing this hard story Rabbit.
Petra, 30 years ago I went into deep depression due to the loss of my 40 year old Twin Brother. Depression is a awful, awful experience. My depression lasted about two years. I wasn't suicidal but sometimes I wonder how I survived the experience and I too wish I had seen this video back then. To Rob I say: Thank you, even in death, your stories are helping others.
I actually gasped when you dropped the bombshell. I feel for you man. That's probably one of the hardest things someone could ever go through. I've been through some crap. I worked for my Alma Maters Police Dept and got let go when I tried to bump up to officer. This was right after my daughter was born. Then the job I got after 1 month into it I walked in to work and the FBI was waiting. Apparently the owner was running a Ponzi Scheme. I had hit rock bottom at that point. They reopened and it was at that moment I decided I wanted to go back into teaching. I had all the certs and did it for a year before walking away. Well I'm now a teacher and loving every second of it. You're analogy of being a rubber ball is true and really convinced me to share this with you and the rest of UA-cam. Keep it up man! Look forward to the next video!
Thanks Rob, I needed to hear this for a while. My dad passed away 9/28/19. He was an old car guy. He bought and sold so many cars when my parents were dating, her neighbors thought he was a car thief. He taught me what it takes to be a great dad and husband. You're dad's advice sounds like something he would say to me. When I got back home to see him, he was already gone. And upon my arrival I found out my sister had a stroke while waiting to see him at the hospital. Then December 2nd we lost my FIL to cancer. 2019 has been the worst year of my 42 years. It's time to bounce back and make 2020 as great as 2019 was devastating. This time next year I plan on having my 1970 Chevelle SS 396 that my dad bought me at 16 back on the road, to share our love of cars with my kids.
@@mattwilliamson1714 damn my post did not age well... 2020 was not the great year I was hoping it would be. I'm happy to say I was able to get started on my Chevelle. I decided the car was too far along and needed a frame off restoration. I found a body & paint guy to help me out since it is more than I can handle now. So far the floors have been replaced from the firewall to the back bumper, new quarters, inner & outer wheel wells, and the rocker panels were repaired. Still a lot of work ahead, but it gave me a chance to save up some $$ to do some upgrades. Gathering parts, I have a full UMI adjustable coilover suspension, Tremec TKX 5spd, new fuel system and new 4 wheel disc brakes. By the time I'm done it won't just be back on the road, it will be the car that my dad and I dreamt about.
@@ryanjohnson8821 I don't think 2020 was a great year for anyone. 🤣🤣 Glad your car was started and should end up so great by the end tho... enjoy the journey... as well as the final product. 👍🏻👍🏻
Mister Pitts. I’m going to be honest. My gf broke up with me last night and on top of that I have depression. This really opened my eyes about when your dad said about the rubber ball, and I’m going to try that mindset. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It honestly helped me so much.
I remember watching this and other “Rabbit” stories during the start of my divorce. I never bounced back, but he definitely could make a night just a little more tolerable. I wanted it all to end, I got slammed so bad, but Rabbit put life in perspective then and now. RIP my friend, you have helped so many people out more than you know.
I've seen this video the day it came out, it had such an impact on me, everytime i've felt down in the last 4 years, everytime something went wrong or didn't go my way, i would always listen to Rob's voice in my head saying "you gotta be like a rubber ball" and that really helped me through some tough times. We lost a great man, i will never forget what he said in this video, Rest In Peace Robert Pitts, we all loved hearing those stories, your legend will live on ❤️🙏🏻
I often said that if my first wife had died I would have been better off. After 19 years she said "I dont love you now and I dont know if I ever did." So yeah, I get that. Thanks Rabbit.
Highschool sweetheart not only cheating on you but having a child you thought was yours and that is the most heartbreaking feeling I can't imagine how u felt and I'm glad you got back up mad respect Rabbit
That was truly incredible. Hats off to you Rabbit. Everyone has something in their lives that really knocks them down, only the tough get back up. This was probably the most motivating story I have ever been told. Thank you so much for what you do and keep doing it.
15:55 that next minute is fantastic; your dad's advice was great! I'll remember it for the rest of my life. I've got 3 girls, & two sons (born 2003 & 2005), love being able to teach them how things work, give life lessons, encourage them to make better decisions than I ever did, and just watch them develop. I'm willing to bet that if Cam never had a chance to have a good dad because of his mom's bad life choices, that he would be a much better person if he was able to stay in touch with you... every kid needs good male role models (especially teenage boys); learning from you, getting your advice, & just hanging out with you when things aren't going well at home would be great for him, or any kid growing up in today's crazy world. Back when I was 23, I was asked to teach a 4th grade kid from a broken home how to read. His mom was 10 years older than me, she had 3 boys (oldest was 2 years older than him, youngest was a 1-yr old) & she had been married & abandoned twice. He was pretty smart, but at 8 yo, he was mainly just smart enough to get by do nothing in school from K5 to 3rd grade... & get passed up a grade while doing it. He couldn't read or write anything except his name, but his grandpa was a friend of mine, was willing to pay me "enough to live on" if I tutored him (homeschool style) all day long, and I did feel sorry for the kid... I had a fantastic Dad. Was a bit of a "rough start" to that school year, until he realized I did care how well he did, I wasn't going to go away, and he couldn't trick me into letting him play all day like his former teachers. So he started learning, realized he was good at it, and enjoyed it! He did did so well, that by the end of his 4th grade year of "home school" tutoring with me... he could read, write, & do math at the 6th grade level! He went back to "regular" school the next year (was bored because there was no challenge), but we stayed in touch. He'd come over and help me with my projects, I'd let him and his buddies camp, fish, & have cookouts in the fields, he introduced me to all his girlfriends, & showed me all his cars (I'm still holding a boat here he wants to repair). I went on to teach at a private school years later and had his little brother for 3 years (9th-11th grades). So I only spent 9 months tutoring this kid... and had his brother in my classes for 3 years... not my kids, not related, but they both became like my own sons (the older one more than the younger). Both tried to contact their real dads... the level of apathy from those 2 losers was heartbreaking. It's now 27 years later, his mom finally picked a "good one" for husband #3, but both he and his little brother call and ask me (& even my dad) for advice over their mom, grandmother (grandpa died), their dads, & step dad. One of them told me I'd, "Been more 'Dad' to both of them than the 'sperm-donors' that contributed to their existence." DNA doesn't make you a Dad... it's the time commitment you put in: from changing their diapers when they're small, caring for them, telling them the pros & cons to different life decisions, teaching them how to figure things out for themselves, & just seeing that the kid lives up to his or her full potential. That's what a real dad does. For me, I now consider it "winning" to be able to help any kid grow up to be a great person with good character... especially the ones that have had it rough because of the stupidity of their parent(s).
God dam man I’m a big guy and I was tearing up just listening to your story. I would be devastated if I found out my kids weren’t mine. You’re a strong man Rabbit 💪.
My 5-year old lives with his mom and it gets rough sometimes. But I still get to be his dad, pick him up from preschool everyday... Your story made me appreciate what I have a lot more. Thank you Rabbit. And happy 2020!

Who else wishes rabbit was their dad. Could you imagine growing up with him.
Rabbit would be the coolest uncle a kid could have.
I would not trade the Dad that I have for the whole universe but having him as a Brother or an Uncle would be awesome.
I don't wish he was my dad. My dad is an amazing man that worked his ass off for my brother and I. Nobody could replace my dad.
That said, I wish Rabbit was my uncle or neighbor! He's an absolute riot and seems to be a pretty awesome guy
Ok everyone I love my dad and he is a great man. I wasn’t saying I hate my dad or anything like that I simply meant he would be a great father.
I will miss him, and never forget him
Same
Mr. Pitts you're one of the most genuine people I've ever seen. You sir are a class act... keep it up.
Amen
Agreed!
"You gotta be like a rubber ball. the harder you get thrown down the faster you bounce back up" That hit me hard since my mother passed away 6 days ago. Thanks for this video it was very good.
It'll be okay mate I'm sorry for you're loss
It's been two years since you've commented. I hope you have found strength to bounce back.
@@Fausto_4841 it has gotten better. I started going to the gym almost 8 months ago now and it's like therapy to me, it's something I look forward to.
It takes a real man to lay it all out like that. Much respect to Mr. Rabbit for this one
Rabbit is a best friend I'll never get to meet. RIP Rob, say hi to Dale.❤
Needed to hear this Rob; thank you for posting such a personal story.
I'm a grown man and I just cried at this video.
Inspirational.
"you gotta be a rubber ball, because every moment you're down, they're winning"
Unbelievably strong words from your father, thank you for your story Rob.
Hey youtube.. I just seen Rabbits video regarding his Good Bye video
My life will never be the same, I been minister to the extreme by this Guy today
Good Bye man.. hope your in Heaven
My respect just tripled for rabbit. It takes a real man to sit down and tell this story to hundreds of thousands of people.
RIP Rabbit. You are missed.
Watching this for the first time after the passed! What a gem this man is opening his heart to his deep darkest time but willing to share because there was such a great lesson to it
Rest in Peace, Rabbit. You will be missed. You're such an inspiration.
I've got a WHOLE different attitude toward you Bro.
Kudos for having a pair and bouncing like another.
Failures don't define you, Bro..
Success does!
Rest in peace man, seeing the news today sucks! I know we all must die at some point but you were taken to soon
Needed to hear this brother, going through some shit myself and this helped a bunch
Surely the best story you've ever told in my opinion.
This really hit home being that the mother of my daughter had some random man to leave my child and her brother (who’s not mine) on my porch at the ages of 2 and 11 months...I raised them both without any contact from her for 10 years. I raised Donovan as my son...this touched my soul! Big ups to you man!
He may not be you're biological son but to him you'll always be his dad I hope you guys make some damn good memories together
As someone who is on their 3rd marriage (24 years with my present wife) & who can't have children this was a heartbreaking story to listen to. Thank you Rabbit for a very inspiring life lesson, it really got to me my friend!
24 and on to the third wife?
@@dougsavery5442 24 years with my 3rd & final wife, going great.
Was NOT expecting this. What a punch in the gut. Can't imagine going thru this. Glad he came out the other side.
Sorry about your 2019 and your 2020, man
How's your car going Ryan?
Glad your car was started and should end up so great by the end tho... enjoy the journey... as well as the final product. 👍🏻👍🏻
I absolutely loved listening to his tales, genuinely shocked and upset to hear of his passing.
RIP, Rob lad.
Mister Pitts. I’m going to be honest. My gf broke up with me last night and on top of that I have depression. This really opened my eyes about when your dad said about the rubber ball, and I’m going to try that mindset. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It honestly helped me so much.
Hope you are doing fine these days.
Yo Zach! Hopefully, you're doing well sir!
I just went through a bad break up. I so needed to hear this. Thanks a million Rabbit
Can't enough of these stories they are really good found you off of vinwiki
His voice is the embodiment of a Marlboro Red.
Story telling master class. Rest in Peace Rob.
My 5-year old lives with his mom and it gets rough sometimes. But I still get to be his dad, pick him up from preschool everyday... Your story made me appreciate what I have a lot more. Thank you Rabbit. And happy 2020!
Don’t normally comment on videos but this one deserved a comment.
What started out as such a sad story turned out to be even more inspiring. I think that was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you
Going through a divorce in my early 20's is the best thing that ever happened to me. Really puts a whole new outlook on life. Thanks, Rabbit.
As someone that lost a kid to death . I have to agree with you. What you went threw was just as bad if not worse . Bounce on Rabbit ! Just like me losing my son their was a reason you lost your boy ! Props to you for telling the story it's not easy talking about painful experiences .
I hate that shit, "there was a reason" what fucking reason are you going to tell a father that his son needed to die?
once a man suffers a loss that devastating not much else can ruffle him.
I agree 100
Absolutely correct.
Sometimes the things you need to hear just fall into your lap. Thank you for making this video.
Brother i have the upmost respect for you. I lost my dad and son in a car train accident 33 years ago, so i know that loss. I could not even imagine your loss. This video stopped me dead in my tracks as i had to listen to every word you said. Love you brother and may God bless you in every way.

Amen brother! I know Rob is gone but that was some real wisdom he left behind. I hope and pray it reach's many people, especially those who are going through some tough times right now.
I first watched this video within the first two days of it being posted. Two and a half years later, I still come back to it. Such a great story with such a great lesson that applies to so many things in life, whatever you may be going through.
