My buddy's foxbody and my dads 74 Chevy step side. Had a 355 old school camelhump heads Cam intake carb headers 410 gears maybe ran high 13s but I was hooked. Multiple foxbodys later lol
I hear you! A red '87 was my downfall. I just sold Scarlette about 3 years ago and she pops into my head every so often. So, yeah.......they get under your skin.
Only 73 produced in this exterior color with this interior color with a manual and a convertible with these rims! Future collector car! Won't find another in this good of a condition!
One of my absolute favorite Rabbit stories, every moment of it. We all have “That” car, the one that started it all. Most of us will never own, heck never even see “that” car again. To own it... after all these years.... just amazing!!! Ps my “that” car was my Uncles 1979 “Bandit” Pontiac Trans Am with Ttops and a 4-speed. Man did I love that car... he gave it to his brother, who subsequently wrapped it around a telephone pole... unfortunately she is cruising the streets of the great highway in the sky now.
The one that started me down the road was my parents 1970 Pontiac GTO. That thing would pass anything but a gas station. Sadly, it now sits, rotting into the ground, never to be driven again.
Mine was an 04 350z. My dad bought it when we moved and taught me how to drive manual with it. We had to sell it because insurance was too high but I loved that thing.
Mine was my fathers 81 cadillac coupe deville. i loved that damn car so much. he used to drive me around to put me to sleep in it because it’s the only way i’d fall asleep. i used to sit at the window all day waiting for him to pull into the driveway with it. he sold it to a family friend and he had it for almost ten years. he sold it to one of my dads close friends who originally owned the car. he passed away 3 months later and his wife took the car and blew us off for 2 years. finally now at 18 i have it back and drive it every single day. it’ll stay in my family forever. the car that got me into cars, the car i always wanted and now i wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
One of my favorite stories he has told. I too had a classic car that I saw and fell in love with as a kid, a 68 Charger that I built with my dad. This always stuck with me and was my introduction to how relatable Rabbit was. RIP Rob, may he rest easy.
Only a true car guy would refer to the overpowering brightness of a warning light by saying "it's got like an 1157 bulb in it....". And as an old car guy, I knew exactly what he meant! Great story.
That's outright one of the coolest stories I've ever heard. I think most of us have that one car we remember that really started our love for cars, and to be able to have it? That's outstanding!
My dad had a 1987 Camaro Iroc-Z with 5000 Original kms. The cars was immaculate. We sold it to a guy who lived about 8 hours away from us over the phone in Alberta, Canada. Once he saw the original bill of sale he wired the money. The man who orginally sold the car was his father. And the signature on the bill of sale was his Fathers. Coolest car sale ever!
To Ed & Rabbit-- Thank you for sharing this amazing story and memory with all of us. I felt like I was watching some kind of classic inspirational movie like Rocky when the big reveal was happening toward the end talking about the moment you realized it was "THAT" Corvette from your past...we were all connecting the dots getting excited for you...I even jumped out of my chair and cheered and started choking up with happy tears. These are the stories that remind us why we are car people. Why we love to share the "car disease" with everyone. We all have some kind of similar story when we first got infected. Mine was a 1969 Corvette Stingray in LeMans Blue with a 327ci. 🥰
Copter Cop Not sure you should probably go and look at a tutorial vid since you have about 1,000 tutorials in your favourites section. Can you not do anything yourself??
Glad I'm not the only one that absolutely loves the 88 35th Anniversary Corvette. The real unicorn if finding one of the rumored three that had the Callaway package.
I live in North Carolina and Robs stories on Vinwiki make me want to drive to Greenville just to meet him so I can have my own story about meeting rabbit!
Excellent story! I remember sitting in a new GS-X in 87 at a dealer while we were buying an Wagoneer. Was in awe. Thats a car I would still love to own one day.
THIS is why i watch VinWIKI (not the only reason, but a big reason i subscribed) This is a great story and makes me proud to be a part of the car community.
honey over gravel is just about the best way to describe your voice rabbit love you stories and i gotta agree theres something just awe inspiring about a white on white on white car even if its not your cup of tea
I remember my cross street neighbor had one of this back in the late 80s. He always wore white gloves driving that car. I still remember he told me to stay in school and work hard, one day I could have a car just as nice. It was so sharp and good.looking, I have a soft spot for that 35th anniversary corvette.
What was the car that made you fall in love with cars?
The Countach from 'Speed Zone'
A 1992 Land Cruiser
A turbocharged Y61 Nissan Patrol as it destroyed an LP-640 on an early youtube video
My buddy's foxbody and my dads 74 Chevy step side. Had a 355 old school camelhump heads Cam intake carb headers 410 gears maybe ran high 13s but I was hooked. Multiple foxbodys later lol
My first car, 1986 Mustang GT convertible.
“I got to a point in my life where I felt I needed to make a stupid car purchase” relatable
I just wish someone would have told me that desire was supposed to come at a point, not as a recurring, continuous thing.
That was me since the age of 18...
Yep. I just bought two cars in the span of three months.

Man I love your stories
Hey rob any advice on buying a 944?
Best storyteller ever!
man your the best
The ending is insane, what a wild ride
When Rabbit got to the "punchline" about it being THE car it gave me chills.
Stealthee 3k was looking for this comment. Before he said it I was arguing out loud that it couldn’t be THE car. Then the chills hit. Lol
I could listen to Rabbit ALL DAY. RIP, what a guy.
"Its not even that special but to me it was"
Yeah thats pretty usual for corvettes and people who own them
I hear you! A red '87 was my downfall. I just sold Scarlette about 3 years ago and she pops into my head every so often. So, yeah.......they get under your skin.
Doesn’t even have to be a corvette for me, I love F-150s first vehicle I ever drove and I can’t imagine not having one

Honestly probably one the best stories ever when it comes to cars. That car the same car like why is this story not a movie 😂
No substance. At most it would be a short film. Can’t base a movie off of a plot that lasts 20 minutes max
I need MORE of Rabbits legendary stories in my life
Are you subscribed to Rabbits Channel? He uploads 1-2 stories on there per week.
puresklz NYC he has a UA-cam channel

The best Rabbit store I’ve ever heard. That’s a true car guy fairytale.
his story about his first week at a dealership is my favorite
"Rough as a night in jail, and I Love it!"" Yep that pretty much describes my Love for my Mustang. Great story from one of your best storytellers!
Man, having these memories you put together with a good buddy is great!
Rest in peace buddy ❤️ I know you’re up there enjoying your favorite vette

One of the greatest car stories you have. Rabbit would have paid 20k for that car.
When this honey poured over gravel voice hit the airwaves...
I want Rob to narrate my life.
Rabbit is like that cool uncle that'll teach you how to shotgun a beer as a kid.
"This is the car the bad drug dealer would drive"
In Miami the drug dealers still drive the same 80s g bodies and caprices
My neighborhood drug dealer had that car!!!!
Only a true car guy would refer to the overpowering brightness of a warning light by saying "it's got like an 1157 bulb in it....". And as an old car guy, I knew exactly what he meant! Great story.
Gotta love Rabbit and his spectacular stories. R.I.P.
