Final thoughts: There's quite a few creative plays you can make, but this hack is surprisingly difficult if you don't spend a lot of effort training up characters (I didn't). Units are much more fragile and vulnerable because of enemy triangle attacks (and critical hits will probably kill your weaker units). You typically can only get ~1/3rd of the kills that you normally would every turn because it takes actions to set up triangle attacks, and in many cases because of terrain or enemy positioning, doing damage is impossible or very difficult. As with most of these hacks, once you've played through the first few chapters you've generally seen most of the unique aspects. Problems: The hack breaks immediately if you try to load the file instead of using save states, with stats underflowing and becoming very large. Negative stats are very unstable in GBA fire emblem, unfortunately. Fun observations: Heal staves do damage if you have negative strength (with -50 strength, heal staves do negative 40 healing to your own units, which is 40 damage). Triangle attack map animations are really neat I guess we doin triangle attacks now
IIRC, vanilla fe8 is hardcoded to prevent female Wyvern Knights from passively participating in a triangle attack (although they can still be the one who makes the actual attack); did you use a patch to remove that restriction?
