    I Bought A:
    Celica Supra 1984 Toyota.
    A mk2 SUPRA
    WOW!
    IN THIS VIDEO, I DO LOTS OF WORK TO THE CAR INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
    FITTING THE HKS HEADGASKET.
    FITTING ARP HEAD STUDS.
    I ALSO REMOVE AND REINSTALL THE GEARBOX IN ORDER TO FIT A MUCH MODIFIED CLUTCH FORK IN ORDER TO GET A FULL THROW ON THE LEVER, AND MODIFY IT TO ACCEPT A SECURE CLIP FOR THE RELEASE BEARING.
    I MAKE A CUSTOM CLEAR TIMING COVER..
    AND REMOVE THE OIL PAN / SUMP IN ORDER TO FIT A TURBO OIL DRAIN.
    NEW ENGINE MOUNTS.
    Plus Lots Of Other Jobs.

    I am Very Happy With How This Turned Out Overall.
    This Will Be A Full Show Car, And A Show Car Engine Bay, So It Has To Look The Part Aswell As Go Like It Too!

    THIS TOOK QUITE A BIT LONGER THAN EXPECTED DUE TO THE VERY LIMITED SPACE DOWN THE SIDES OF THE TRANSMISSION TUNNEL.
    I ALSO AM WAITING TO RECEIVE THE NEW ANGLED SPEEDOMETER DRIVE UNIT WHICH IS COMING FROM JAPAN! The Old One Resisted a Reasonable Repair... Old Thin Cast Aluminium.

    The Spark Plug in Cylinder 2 decided to stay in the head!
    Oh Well....
    The Engine Is Apart Now!
    And I Am Getting Carried Away As Usual With All The Modifying And Cleaning Up!
    Whilst I Am At It, I Might Aswell Give It A Manual Swap Too!

    And Do Other Upgrades!
    I am Thinking A Twin Pipe Cherry Bomb Back Box Exhaust mated To A Straight Pipe Will Be Nice And Rowdy! For All The Turbo Noises!

    What type of headgasket is the HKS? Composite or mls?

      @@MontaniRacing I've got a blown headgasket on my 7mge and I'm debating if I use a composite gasket as a more budget repair. I'm told composite gaskets are more forgiving with lower quality surfaces finishes and MLS headgaskets require a freshly machined surface. Obviously stripping the engine and shipping it off to be machined is the big cost that I'm trying to avoid. Any advice?

      @@johnrichards7847 the surfaces of your head and block should always be top quality before doing any headgasket. And every block differs so only you can make that call upon your own judgement but as long as you 100% get head skimmed. Make sure it is nice. And check deck for flatness, if anything dents, grooves, fingernail catching damage, then you should have the block decked aswell. Those 2 things are a must before doing any head gasket replacement. If you do a repair like this, there is really no point in doing it twice. Do it once, do it best. Make it high quality. Use a MLS, it will stand up better over time. And get some high quality arp studs in there!👍🏽 Crank Seal, Cam Seal, New Belts, New Pulleys, New Tensioners, Idlers .etc New Water Pump. New Thermostat. New Coolant. Then Oil and Filter Change. Change The Plugs. Magnetic sump plug in. Might aswell throw in dizzy cap and rotor arm for good measure. I hope this was useful for you.
