I have this kit in my stack and so glad to see this review.I hope you show us it when finished.Looks great so far and thank you..All the best from Blighty🇬🇧👍
I bought the same model in the Profipack version, which apart from all the usual additional goodies also has an advantage of including decals for "Yellow 14", which is kinda way to go with the F version. 🙂 Nice to know it should be pleasurable build unlike some other Eduard production.
Jon, I have no clue whether Zvezda kits are actually available in the West due to current politic AL situation, but if they are - get yourself Bf109F-2 and F-4 made by this Russian company (cat. Zvezda 4801, 4802). I promise you won't be disapointed.
Thanks, Serge! I have built several Zvezda kits and have several more to build. I have heard that their Bf109F kits are really good, though I haven't checked one out in person. Your comment reminds me, I need to make a review of the Zvezda La-5 and La-5FN (reboxed by Eduard with great decals and photoetch). I built the La-5 and have the La-5FN waiting to be built. I have built many VVS subjects and will feature more on this channel in the future. I even have a playlist of the VVS kits I've reviewed: ua-cam.com/play/PL61N_1EHinRkUEFezHDSqr0v2efGAIk8C.html
The Zvezda F is slightly more accurate, particularly in tail depth near the fin (about 1.5 mm less) and lower gear leg length, which is 2 mm too tall on the Eduard: Easy to fix, but massive.. Eduard canopy is very slightly better. The Tamiya G-6 is also more accurate than all others Gs in the canopy and upper gear leg bulk, including Zvezda and Eduard, which all have F/G-2 thin legs, even on G-10s(!).
Good to know! The Zvezda kits I've built couldn't compete with the finesse of surface detail or fit of the Eduard kits (but I haven't built their 109F).
I have an Eduard G6 in the stash, happy to hear I don't have to dread breaking it out.
Not at all, Paul. After the E 109s, Eduard's 109s improved from a builder's standpoint.

I think you'll like it when you build it. Cheers!
I'm ot familiar with this kit but I will look for one now. Glad to hear it's not the typical Eduard overly complicated style.
It still requires precise cleanup but yields a beautiful result.

Right on Dusan! It's one of their best kits yet.
Looks great even unpainted.
Thanks, James. This kit will make a good modeler look great!

@@jonsmodelkitreview4624 sounds promisable, I'll definitely check later in the day. Cheers.
