A very nice build I thought. I have never seen a black belly on a Bf-109 before. That was quite interesting. I applaud you for adding the swastika on the vertical stabilizer for historical accuracy.
A wonderful video. Thank you. It's always a pleasure to watch your work very well done. Just remember don't be too critical of yourself, 17 year old airmen hastily applied a lot of the camouflage colors to these aircraft in the field so your model probably looks way better than the real thing did.
One tip for the wheels is to heat the a bit of the tyre on the bottom with a lighter and push on a table, it makes it look like there is weight on the tyres
fantastic build! love a 109 anyway but this scheme is great. one pointer if I may, when it comes to finer spraying dont be afraid to thin the paint further or increase your pressure a bit and pull the trigger back less to compensate. you'll get better atomisation and a little more overspray control. love the weathering you achieved on here as well. ties everything together nicely. :)
What a lovely build - I’ve just bought the newer Eduard kit with the newer decals - however I will be brush painting with AK Gen 3 acrylics Any tips Cheers
Amazing result with such a difficult camo scheme...you must be very pleased with the final result. I really enjoy your videos....full of great ideas and explanations. Look forward to see what's next on the bench.
Looking great! I wouldn't worry about the demarcation line between the black and camp because this would have been done by hand in the field. Overall, a very solid build
I use Mr colour levelling thinner - cobwebbing is normally a moisture in the air thing, so maybe try spraying in different rooms/use a dehumidifier to adjust moisture content in the air :)
Great job and great vid. Questions. Have you take into consideration to instensify the gun smoke and exhaust stains and adding the silver chipping pre weathering to lower the contrast?
frankly speaking, this is a superb build. I'm scared by the mottling camo and this is stopping me from this kind of models. However I would try to mimic your steps and wanna give me a chance! bravo!
I can say I was just as scared as you are. The best advice I can give is it just go slowly, like really slowly. Don't pull the trigger back very far at all, and make sure to spray fairly close to the surface. Practice on a test bed model would be ideal! Good luck mate 😄
Instead Of regular ca, use acrylic white glue or pva, and or black ca cause it has rubber additives, hence the color, which gives it a reinforced strength. Looking good my English cousin!
Very nice work! the chipping with Vallejo Aluminium was a very risky step !! why didnt you use an enamel paint to do that?? you can always easly remove an enamel paint with white spirit and try again, in case you put too much paint or if you are not pleased with the results!
Thanks! Yeah, twas pretty risky indeed haha. Went for the Vallejo because I like how you're able to later it to build up different levels of shine, to represent areas with more or less oxidation 👍
Another great video which has inspred me to buy this kit - love the camo job on this one. Any chance you remember the diameter of the brass tubes you used? Thanks mate and keep the videos coming!
I started building my 109G from Eduard and I need to ask if you’ve had a problem with the wing joins because mine didn’t want to join properly leaving a hump in the lower wing section.
Nice job, but RLM65 is not correct for this type of plane, especially the ones with the DB605 AS engines, which were from mid 1944. The light grey should be RLM76.Your control of the air brush is superb, not sure I will ever get that.
You must be a really confident experienced modeller. Just to let you know, I am building the same kit, same version (C) and am following you to a T, it's been really good. I am currently at 16:00. How did you know to ad XF-9 to XF-7?
I generally like to experiment with colour combinations, and I find that xf 7 and xf 9 go together to make a pretty convincing rust tone! Many thanks for your kind words ☺️
@@ModellingWeekly You won't believe how much help you have provided in this build. Just one last question please. Are there any issues using white spirit to dilute the oil paint?
@@andyw3152 very glad that the video has helped mate 😄 shouldn't have any issue using white spirit to thin down oils. So long as you go with the bog standard, traditional stuff, you're good!
I try to keep the video moving as smoothly as possible, so as a result I don't tend to dwell on the relatively dull aspects like gluing parts together if you get what I mean :) apologies if this has caused any inconvenience
I´ve just finishing my F4U 1/48 from Revell. I have a problem. After my Vallejo Air colours I´ve airbrushed a layer of gloss varnish (Vallejo), which i mixed with Vallejo Thinner. On some areas the gloss-varnish peals of like skin after a sunburn. Can anybody be so kind to tell me where is the reason for my problem?
Sorry, forgot to reply to this!! I'm not sure what's causing your problem, but chances are that if you hop onto my discord server one of the guys will know a solution :)
I've been airbrushing for decades, I really recommend you get some scrap kits or plastcard and practice air pressure and thinning ratios. To me it looked like you were spraying sand. You have a decent airbrush so you can take that out of the equation. Pronunciation of eduard and vallejo were 0 out of 10. 🤔
OK, where do I start lol. If you had listened until the end of the video, I mentioned how the thinning ratio for the black was imperfect, and that it could be improved (though this pot of Tamiya stuff that I've been using never seems to be perfect no matter what, whilst everything else seems fine, so I'm inclined to think it's a dud). In my opinion, the rest of the spraying wasn't bad. The pre-shading with the black suffered a little also, which again points me towards thinking its a dodgy pot. Now, I would normally just say I don't care at all what someone thinks of my pronunciation of kit brands, though I am going to say that I pronounced Vallejo 100% correctly...I come from a Spanish background, so I think I know what I am talking about when it comes to pronouncing a Spanish brand name thank you very much.
Forgot to mention in the video, this build was part of the Normandy group build over on my discord server! Link in the description!

Thank you! Yes, it's quite an interesting scheme indeed!
The entire exterior camo was a challenge, and I think you pulled it off admirably!
Thank you, I appreciate it man 😊
Such a sweet build! Makes me want to get more eduard kits . . . . but only when I've cleared my stash lol
Thanks mate! Yeah, the stash burden is always an issue haha
windshield joint could use a bit of love, except that it's a wonderful job, very unusual yet eyecatching camo option. thanks for the video :)
Thank you, yeah it's a pretty wacky camo
I have Bf's in the stash. Thanks for the lessons here!
You've done a cracking job here, well done
I appreciate it Hamish!
Excellent build! Love the paint and weathering! Always has to be a winer around. Thanks again for sharing!
Too kind!! Thank you very much my friend 😄
really nice build! Makes me want to build an Eduard Bf 109.
Well I hope my first experiment with mottling ends up as good. I'll find out soon enough with the E4 weekender. Very nice build sir.
Hello Modelling Weekly very nice looking model aircraft BF-109G-6 G series. Nice work on this plane. I enjoyed this video on this build.
Thank you very much my friend 😊
Nice build, I share the pain with paint ratio's. I'll share a tip on painting black, use very little black. 😜
Smashing job guv. Maximum respect!
Thank you!

Great build and an impressive kit. Wish I could find some Eduard kits here in Thailand. 👍

I really like the tone of RLM 74. It's greenish as it should be
Awesome job !!!!
I just bought this kit based on your video 😁
Thank you very much my friend 😊 enjoy the kit, it's brilliant 👍🏻
Nicely done. I have this kit in the stash and am planning to do the same markings.
Thanks! Nice, good luck! It's a pretty cool scheme!
Great video, as always!

Eduard is great. Sadly, they don't make 1:32 scale models anymore, or not that much. But a great build! Greetings from Sweden.

How do you glue your clear parts on?
Very small amounts of tamiya extra thin, tapped onto the seam between the canopy and fuselage
