Just some of the things done to improve the lives of captive cheetahs. Flattening lookout mounds and removing killer bees from their water ponds. This and many things are considered to help these cheetahs live in a natural environment as possible for their comfort. Stress, nutrition, clean water, large wild spaces and enrichment are all critical for a happy life for a captive cheetah and to stimulate the breeding instinct. For the 1st time I've known Gabriel, he is calling to a female; asking to mate. He never did that until moving to this new project and location. Things have improved for Gabriel and I could not be happier for him.
I have another female cheetah I have not introduced yet but will in the future. She is also going into 'heat' for the 1st time in her life since moving to this project. The new sites, sounds, smells, new cheetahs and stimulation has inspired her to become a mother. She is trying and shows me that things are in place that allows a cheetah to breed. I try and make these cheetahs lives as close to wild as possible yet believe in interaction to relieve stresses. But always allow them to chose to visit or not.
Enrichment walks, good wild foods, clean water, exercise, LARGE wild enclosures and lower stress promotes a healthy life which their biological clocks start ticking and they begin to breed. Captive cheetah breeding has been labeled difficult but I've seen quality cared for cheetahs go into heat and want to breed and produce cubs. I'll keep improving the entire process as I learn more about cheetah animal husbandry.
    Thanks for watching!

I love watching your videos! Big cats are so beautiful & majestic, they know where they fit in the food chain...at the top 😆! I like watching their mannerisms w/ each other & you. I have 2 indoor kitties & even they have their order, but I also care for a group of community cats, some were stray, some were feral. I've had them fixed & given shots, but almost all were unadoptable. They are in a safe environment & enjoy the outdoors; the few that were able to be adopted are now mine😻 & a neighbor's. They all come 2x a day for food & some love; you can see the similarities in the way even domestic cats interact w/ me & other cats vs big cats. I can look down at my cats playing w/ a fake mouse & easily imagine the tiger in them. I even try to give out food in the via their self-emposed hierarchy, otherwise there's shoving & stealing 😼🙀. I know many ppl think cats are aloof & too independent to form bonds w/ humans or other animals, but if you spend any time w/ them you know that is untrue. You can easily see the bond you have w/ those Cheetahs 🐆, & I've seen my cats form lifelong bonds w/ each other.
Oh, I like how after throwing that boulder, you manage to catch yourself on some invisible force field directly where that boulder used to be...wonder what that was? 😸😺 👍

I know this channel's content is sparse, but it's always good to see updates. I like how truthful you are that you mention that he is "tamed" but still wild. Furthermore, I forget another channel's name, but they have crocodiles, and they hated that a filming crew wanted to film content creators saying that the crocodiles "love" them for a show. At the end of the day, these types of animals are WILD. They don't love, or feel. When free food is in front of them, they'll take it. If you were to suddenly to have a freak accident in front of Gabe, I'm sure he would see you as free food. It's the sad nature of life. That's what these types of animals do: hunt the sick and lame.

You'd think that with modern chemistry and all that, it would be easy to generate a 'love potion' for animals in captivity lol. But I suppose even if the plan is to breed them, letting them decide on it is maybe better for the genes, who knows? I don't .

I'm no expert in these sorts of things, but wouldn't it be easier to add dirt over the top of the rocks than to remove all the rocks?

Wonder if it is the video quality itself. I recorded most of this in 4K but some of the video was not and so it was a mix and did not export like I wanted. But, Gabe has a notch in his back too from a congenital defect and why he cannot be released or trained to hunt. Could damage his back.

You know that situation when you are bilingual and try to find words in both languages to describe something and fail to?
Well, this what happens to me when i watch this kinda stuff.

Question, if you would make arm bracers out of rabit fur. Would he enjoy licking them, since he has a prefference for fur? Or would he recognize them as not your skin and just lick your head instead as usual?
