I am happy Elayna kept at Riley to vlog their sailing adventure back in 2014. I had just moved from Maui to a monastery in SoCal. These kids (I'm a great grandma with grandkids just a few years younger) have be such an inspiration for me. I'm mobility challenged all my life but needed canes since 2010. I learned I was vain when it was suggested I use a wheelchair. I hadn't felt travel was in my future. Watching these two and other travel vloggers, I started small and have been to Manchu Picchu and traveled about 1500 miles in the Amazon river, mostly on cargo boats. Been all the way to Bolivia. Now I am settling in Guatemala. I finally bought a 50" TV. I've been using my 14" laptop for 2 years. Now I'll be able to see the glorious world Elayna, Riley, Lenny and Darwin share with us in the best way possible for me now. Continued blessings of abundance and wisdom for All!

Thankyou, for the past 10 years and I look forward to many more to come. You are currently in the Land of my birth and 1.5 years ago finally made my way back to my Birthplace in Yokosuka. I am seeing Japan through new eyes from the Sea and your land excursions remind me of all my day hiking through the mountains and natural beauty of Japan. Looking forward to your daily Videos. The boys are becoming so confident in their swimming, and loved seeing them use chopsticks. What a beautiful area , and lovely people. Thank you for sharing your adventures to far away places. Look forward to the next.
Safe in Japan is an interesting concept. If you put 1 million yen into your wallet and left it on a bench and came back 24 hours later one of two things would happen in every small village and most large cities too, you would either pick up your wallet or a shopkeeper/local would come rushing out with your wallet explaining that it was going to rain and they didn't want your wallet to get damaged.
So inspiring, especially as I pack all that is left of my mom and prepare to say good bye to her forever tomorrow, I feel joy in my heart. Thanking you for the joy and always lifting the spirits- and inspiring!

I was in Okinawa and found it breathtaking.. the islands you are exploring are magnificent. the setting is beyond beautiful.. There is your boat all alone surrounded by paradise..
These kids have the most amazing life they are learning everyday Lenny could probably run the boat on his own by now, best education for both kids, hands on is better than books 📚 ❤❤
Elayna, glad your living your dream. Thanks for sharing! Snorkeling was beautiful. The waterfall, too. What an adventure! Another exciting 10 years! Congrats!

Great video about your adventure to Amami. Thank you for visiting the Jurassic Beach of Amami and highlighting the threat it is facing. We found that musical performance on the boat, with the lip synch-ing hilarious and well done! Nice also to see the kids having a lot of fun.

Congratulations on 10yrs guys. Thank you La Vagabonde family for sharing such beautiful landscapes with us. Great job with the cinematography Elayna! I can't wait for the daily videos of your upcoming adventures! Take care everyone!
Since you are celebrating your 10-year anniv, seems an appropriate time: I have been a member since right before the pandemic, and plowed thru 6 years of your content during the early part of the lock down. I fell asleep watching and woke up and went right on with the content a few times that week! Anyway, obviously a big fan, love discovering the new places with you all and just the way you all slip into that underway bliss in nearly all the epis. And an underestimated part of the channel is watching the boys grow up, they seem like a blast especially like 2 or 3 days a week. And, Elana, I hope that your, er, um, back to feeling tip top after your, ah, accident in this epi!
I started watching just after you got La Vagabonde II. I went back and watched all the episodes from the beginning and I love you and your family so much! Thank you for taking us on this journey with you! Grats on 2 million subscribers a little early!
For some reason, this episode has really made me wanna go back to the very beginning. Thank you so much for sharing your lives, it's a beautiful story to watch.
Okay, I can't resist this one: Riley, in this week's episode - while playing IDLES - is acting JUST AS goofy as Elayna. Didn't know you had it in you, mate! The color of the water there, in that part of Japan, is INSAIN - really beautiful! And Corinne's (sp?) accent reminds me of Jacques Cousteau. I'm an old fart and can hear him still, "Zee sharks appear aji-taet-ed after devouring two of our camera-man. We are mooving in for a closer luke." On a more serious note, great video. This place is stunning!
Commenting to help the algorithm. Been here since the monohull days. One of the few channels that I've stuck with as I become older and more misanthropic. Stay safe out there, y'all!!
Hey there, I just wanted to jump in and congratulate you on your parenting. Not many could raise one child on a boat, and two well, I don't even want to think about it..I am an early childhood educator for 30 years, and your boys are growing into such amazing little people. It's all down to your parenting. You are truly giving them a gift of being raised in the wild like so many of us wish we could have, AND you are honestly doing it with such humor and integrity! I do hope to visit you one day when you come to a Maryland or DC/VA port. Enjoy your travels, julz
Who knew the Japanese waters were so captivating? I love these longer, more relaxed videos, and getting to see so much of the boys. They are growing so much. I've finally joined patreon too! I love living vicariously through SLV!
Spectacular, we could only hear the hum and can only imagine feeling the vibration of the sound of your performance beautiful house on the water.❤ I believe I recall your old house at 22 knots, phenomenal.😊 And pleased to see you more comfortable at speed. I am commenting already 54 seconds into this video haha.
theres an elder in JAPAN who dives daily in i think TATEYAMA JAPAN whose NAME IS HIROYUKI who has made a friendship with a BIG KOBUDAI FISH, IF EVER YOU GET A CHANCE I THINK YOU AND THE KIDS MIGHT ENJOY VISITING HIM,TAKE CARE AND BE WELL EVERYONE...
Amazing as usual, except this time I was transfixed by the beauty of Japan, outstanding guys, one place I would love to go. The boy's are growing so much and what a joy watching them interact with everything, this is the best classroom in the world!!
Thanks for another really great episode! Used to live in Japan in Yokohama back in the early 1970's, miss it very much. That story at the end about the possible Habu encounter. Blood ran cold about that one. Glad you found out about it before anyone was injured. Looking forward to next week's experiment with daily episodes, hope it goes well! - Cheers; Michael
Wow, that music video was very well done, it must have taken hours to get the timing so perfect, well done.... we notice the little things...love you guys...🙂🙂
OK so three things First of all seeing you guys jam out like that was absolutely infectious, I Couldn't help but smile. i wasn't familiar with that band, but am now very interested. Second I would just like to appreciate the fact that Lenny's little rope hammock deal looked so completely comfortable. it reminded me of a cat lounging in a window, where they get in the most awkward position and you think "how could that be comfortable" but the look on their face is absolute contentment XD And possibly most importantly so happy to see you guys in Japan and having such a wonderful time I know you've been looking forward to it for so long and the fact that it's going smoothly for you so far brings such joy to my heart xp . I plan on honeymooning there so thanks for blazing the trail so to speak ;) Fairwinds my friends, Don't stress too much about the daily uploads, It would be super fun ;p But you know we won't hold it against you if it doesn't workout just have fun we'll come along for the ride ;3
How freaking great to be able to use idols music and make the best video that band ever had, loved the time and effort it took to make that short video it was hilarious. And Elena your dance moves especially the worm across the deck had me laughing out loud. So if you two ever give up sailing you could be back up dancers for Any band of your choice lol.
Omg love the Idles video you guys made on this episode! I have been watching and loving all your fabulous adventures for years now and I always look forward to watching every week, oh and I can’t forget to mention just how precious your boys are as well! So nice to watch fabulous videos about lovely people!!
So glad you are feeling better Alayna! You have such a beautiful family and such beautiful friends on board to help with the boys and sailing. God richly bless all of you!🥰
Nature doing everything.. healthy living, great views, power for the boat, wind for the sails, wind for drying clothes, etc etc… just perfect….rest of the world take notice 👍👍😎
Beautiful video. Very well done. The detail such as showing maps, explaining routes, weather, the running of the yacht plus the trips ashore make these a cut above the rest.
Wow, such an enchanting place!! The sea is a beautiful shade of blue!! The temperatures seemed mild for now. Can't wait to see daily episodes, Elayna! Will be watching! Stay safe out there! ✌🏼❤️
Gee wiz, 10 years already. Congratulations and thank you for the sights and entertainment you have provided, almost therapeutic feeling a lot of the time with places you been and lifts the spirits tremendously 😊 so good seeing the Japan we don’t normally see. Cheers guy’s 🍾 🥂

I love that you include Ellie in so much of what you do.
Ellie is the kids nanny and teacher.
Commenting to help the algorithm. Been here since the monohull days. One of the few channels that I've stuck with as I become older and more misanthropic. Stay safe out there, y'all!!
Thank you for the stunning video! Great dance moves and interesting music!! Loved it!!
CONGRATULATIONS to 10 years and can't wait to watch your daily vlogs
Ellie is the most precious of gems! Much love from halfway around the world! 💞💓
Best sailing content! Hands down! Cheers!
Who knew the Japanese waters were so captivating? I love these longer, more relaxed videos, and getting to see so much of the boys. They are growing so much. I've finally joined patreon too! I love living vicariously through SLV!
Wow!! That was an awesome rock video!! And the scenery is breathtaking!!!✌🐢
It’s the flight attendant debrief at the beginning that really lets me settle into my pseudo adventure 🙂
Didn't want this episode to end?it was amazing and so interesting..thank you ❤
Wonderful episode for this landlocked armchair traveler in Colorado. Thank you! And your acting/dancing to the music was fun. You guys are gifted!
You guys are awesome.... amazing editing, super destination :)
I've been watching you 10 Years already? Crazy how time flys.
theres an elder in JAPAN who dives daily in i think TATEYAMA JAPAN whose NAME IS HIROYUKI who has made a friendship with a BIG KOBUDAI FISH, IF EVER YOU GET A CHANCE I THINK YOU AND THE KIDS MIGHT ENJOY VISITING HIM,TAKE CARE AND BE WELL EVERYONE...
Amazing as usual, except this time I was transfixed by the beauty of Japan, outstanding guys, one place I would love to go. The boy's are growing so much and what a joy watching them interact with everything, this is the best classroom in the world!!
Riley sounded just like Bilbo Baggins: "We're off on an Adventure" . . . . . . . . .
It's beautiful there.
Thank you for the video
Wow, that music video was very well done, it must have taken hours to get the timing so perfect, well done.... we notice the little things...love you guys...🙂🙂
Drum editing was genius. Don’t wish for the cold too much - but a snowy Japan in winter is stunning.
I hope people sign their petition! Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Thanks much for taking us to Japan with you guys🇯🇵🌊⛵️
How freaking great to be able to use idols music and make the best video that band ever had, loved the time and effort it took to make that short video it was hilarious. And Elena your dance moves especially the worm across the deck had me laughing out loud. So if you two ever give up sailing you could be back up dancers for Any band of your choice lol.
Man that bleached coral sure is sad, but still so beautiful.
Omg love the Idles video you guys made on this episode! I have been watching and loving all your fabulous adventures for years now and I always look forward to watching every week, oh and I can’t forget to mention just how precious your boys are as well! So nice to watch fabulous videos about lovely people!!
Still enjoy watching you guys Jack from Raleigh NC
So glad you are feeling better Alayna! You have such a beautiful family and such beautiful friends on board to help with the boys and sailing. God richly bless all of you!🥰
Thats cool how he can just lay down anywhere and fall asleep.
Nature doing everything.. healthy living, great views, power for the boat, wind for the sails, wind for drying clothes, etc etc… just perfect….rest of the world take notice 👍👍😎
Love this!
Beautiful video. Very well done. The detail such as showing maps, explaining routes, weather, the running of the yacht plus the trips ashore make these a cut above the rest.
That song segment was 🤘🤘🤘🤘 - and NOOOO ELAYNA NO ZIPPERS NEAR THE LIPS 🤣🤣
Wow, such an enchanting place!! The sea is a beautiful shade of blue!! The temperatures seemed mild for now. Can't wait to see daily episodes, Elayna! Will be watching! Stay safe out there! ✌🏼❤️
The ultimate insult to a sibling “you live in a poo poo house” 😂😂😂
