ELAYNA, just thought you should know, this is the type of video I fell in love with so many years ago. The type of video that takes me along with you guys, brings me on the journey. I feel the sense of adventure. Where are we going, what needs fixing today, what's to eat, how well are the sails trimmed? All questions I'd have if I were onboard and by answering them, you've transported me from my office to your helm. I deeply miss this video format. Ever since the Tri build started, things haven't been the same around here. Thank you so much for this!
@Bobsi1 All positive points. As a parent it lacks empathy for the children by the parents. It would have added value to see Aleyna help Lenny rebuild his Legos after she accidentally knocked it over. Asking the little one to help him was sad to see.
I plan on getting the word out to all of the sailing channel's that I watch about the "Sea people App" and I watch many of them and tell them to share with their friends and family. Have a Safe trip , praying 🙏 for fair winds and safe passage.
@@lc285 Yeah, who's to say, really... there's value in not responding to every little upset. Coddling small upsets breeds people who continue to complain throughout life about small things and expect everyone to validate them as victims. I'd much rather see parenting that is loving and only coddles upsets that require coddling, especially at Lenny's age. How do you teach someone "it's not that big of a deal" if you're also validating the upset? What long term behavioral habits are you grooming your child for? The habit of being able to create solutions or the habit to create problems? Just food for thought. Personally, I felt for Lenny, what a bummer. But, I have zero issues with how that went down. Different strokes. Unfortunately, there's no universal "right" thing to do in this thing called life. We all do the best we can, with the tools we have.

14:50 To be a kid again…the most beautiful, awe-inspiring view as you come upon your next stop sailing the seas and the only thing that matters in this moment is your Lego ship ❤️
You visited Akusekishima! Absolutely one of my favorite islands in Japan. Was blown into that tiny marina in the night in a storm … 4 meter waves and faltering engine .. the spent three glorious days with the few dozen residents … loved the onsen… the volcanoe to the north was my guiding light through a very rough night at sea in a storm … the incandescent glow was reassuring …. You are blessed to be visiting these very remotes places that even many Japanese have never heard of
Riley and Elayna, we watch your life's adventures faithfully, and we are always finding many interesting things about the real rigors of sailing the world's ocean’s. We find our greatest jot, however, watching the amazing development in Lenny and Darwin's lives. Those two are growing up in a world of wonders.
I've been watching your videos since before you had your boys and i just have to say you have come a long way baby thank you for sharing your family and your adventures with us i feel blessed

I have been following you guys since 2020 and do not miss your show. Love it. Well done guys you are living the life I wish I knew about when I was younger. ❤
Loving the dailies. I love Japan. Have worked & travelled out there a lot. Not sure how far ahead you are, but something I always did was visit shrines & temples. Talk about calm serenity. It felt like being drunk. I bought a pilgrim book from the first shrine I ever visited & got it stamped & calligraphy put in book. It’s a small concertina book that can be opened out & displayed on a shelf. I’ve had mine over 20 years! The boys might like this as a life long reminder of this trip. Do Hiroshima. Go to the museum & the Peace Park. Brush up on your origami cranes too. Take care guys. And thanks for sharing your shenanigans with us.
Thanks Elayna we know you do all editing so much work plus looking after all your boys big and small !Great video appreciate you letting us tag along !
While in the navy I was serving in a ship that left Kaohsiung Taiwan just ahead of a force 5 typhoon, to put it mildly we survived but the ship was put into dry dock for 6 weeks afterward. You DO NOT WANT to end up in one of those because I am 199% positive that your beautiful craft would not survive. I also spent a little more than a year in Sasebo Japan and wish to say that the people of Japan are among the Most genuine and friendly people I have ever met. Thanks for sharing! ❤

Your free flowing DAY IN THE LIFE episodes are both groovy and relaxing. Everyone, between the kids getting hurt seem to be having a cool time just living life as it comes. Seeing a volcano come alive must of been pretty groovy. Luckily it was not throwing huge rocks the size of houses at you like they are some times known to do. Stay safe, healthy and of course, groovy.
As I sit in my office in Montana, patiently waiting for Adobe to throw me its next error/curve ball, I very much enjoyed slipping away to sail along the coast of Japan for a bit. Stay safe out there, you legends!!
love these daily blogs... and you even convinced me to download your app, even though i havent been sailing for years... I miss the ocean!!! love you guys!
So nice to see you guys in Japan! Have lots of fun, eat lots of sushi! It might be a really good idea for you guys to learn the preparation ritual for going in and out of Onsen? Really important to know so that when you go in you're more comfortable because in general private onsens are not as common? So the boys and the girls will be separated. When you go in you first cover yourself with the hot water that's available in a little area and then you go and you sit down in front of the mirror where the showers are and you wash yourself with soap and water very very carefully. People will expect that you get very very clean before you go into the onsen also, you guys might get used to this overtime, but going in between the extremely hot water and the cold plunge is very healthy and relaxing. In fact, I like the cold water more because it's more relaxing when you get used to it. Have an incredible time in Japan! Thanks for all the videos as always.
My little sister absolutely loves your videos! Today she turns 10 and I’ve been telling her you are making a video every day for her birthday week 😂 so thank you for making it this week ❤
Some great stuff going on in this vid. Especially like Riley's talk about the "advantage" that La Vaga 2 gives and the benefits it provides with speed.
I've been following lavagabonde for years now. And I never get tired of them. Love you guys. Thank you, hugs to all .❤ it was written in the stars that they will meet and bring love to the whole world. And they do just that....❤
If there was ever a time to do daily vlogs, this is it. Instead of saying "good on you", in Canada we say "good for you". Means exactly the same thing. Looking forward to your upcoming videos.
Hey Groovers! Love you guys, and have watched since inception. You've come along way and inspired a lot of people to live their Dreams, and to do it all with your attractive Aussie personalities is pleasing to watch. Great to see you as a solid family now continuing the journey. I noticed you mentioned about the lack of traffic in the area of travel with this video, and also about Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant. I assume, and I'm hoping that there is still a Stigma amongst the locals relating to the uncontainable toxic outfall which was created when the 2011 Tsunami destroyed the Plant, sending unprecedented Radioactive waste into the Pacific Ocean, producing massive Fish/Marine/Bird kills and ongoing mutations across the WHOLE of the Pacific, with catastrophic events happening across the US Eastern Seaboard, Alaska and Canada, which wont be eradicated any time soon. 13 years ago this happened, and it all seemed to be swept under the carpet pretty quickly, i assume to appease the gullible majority to thinking that there are no health concerns! Well there are, and will be for generations to come. I have lived and worked off the Ocean, and it is my Religion, for without it, I would not exist! We as Humans are 75% water, Earth is 75% water, so it would seem fair to be aligned with the magic it portrays! I don't want to come across as a Conspiracist, rather a Truthist, but just be aware of what you consume, and where from. I have grave fears for the area you are heading to, which will carry battle scars for some time, and affect our bodies, future generations and ecosystems! Kudos for you guys going off the beaten track to show us followers your travels, allowing us to live vicariously through your eyes, but please don't expose your 2 beautiful boys to the most toxic contamination that us humans have created! Just my thoughts after a couple of Gin and Tonics. Love from Dongara. West Oz!
Thank you for all the awesome videos. I’ve followed y’all way before the kiddos and have loved to see them grow up. Thanks 🩷💙💙💙 Love from the North North Georgia Mountains 🇺🇸

You are correct, the word "Shima" does mean island, but it does have several definitions including "territory", and "community" depending what you're talking about.
Poor crazy little Darwin! I had a little boy that was high energy as well. I felt like it was constant watch to keep him from offing himself! He's nearly 19 now and he's awesome!

You guys put the awesomeness into awesome! We're all being spoilt big time this week and loving it! It would be great if you could film an un-edited clip of you anchoring! 😁 I can only think of two things that can test a relationship, anchoring a boat is definately one, and reversing a caravan into a really tight spot is definately up there too! 😜 Can't wait for tomorrow's chapter. 👏👏
We feel spoiled because of these daily vlogs. I wish they could continue, but I understand they cannot. It shows how everyone on board shares in responsibilities and such. Lenny and Darwin have the best teachers everywhere they go. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures and journeys. Japan's islands look amazing. We are loving these videos guys AND the Sea People app! So many people have already joined in our local area!
My little sister absolutely loves your videos! Today she turns 10 and I’ve been telling her you are making a video every day for her birthday week 😂 so thank you for making it this week ❤
Can’t get the smile off my face. Thanks guys.
What a treat to have daily vlogs for the week! Elayna, I would love if you can share more about your exercise routine at some point. You look amazing!
Thanks 🩷💙💙💙
Love from the North North Georgia Mountains 🇺🇸
Absolutely shows what you have been talking about all along. ❤
Good work. I’ve made the same Dad face that Riley made when D was screaming about his foot. I can relate 100% to that😂
Thank you for sharing so fully!! Ohhhh I LOVE The Ideles- that song Dancer is on my workout playlist list😬🤓🥳 Have so much fun!! We love your family and chosen family. Thank you again for sharing!!🥳💜💜💜
Loving this journey. Your vids are my mental health medicine…🙏🏼🤍
Omg! The best lunch time break ever!!! Watching you guys sailing in my backyard basically!!! ❤❤❤Loving these vlogs ❤❤❤
Once again, there are no words. This is a journey of a lifetime and I so appreciate you taking us along.
This series is already EPIC! Japan is a place on top of my travel list, and to see the amazing places and little islands you are visiting is really enticing me to book some flights :D Cannot wait to see what else you guys have instore for the journey. Safe travels!
Oh I’m loving these daily videos!
David the smooth french oh la la is definitely going to sleep outside under the stars with Ellie😂😂🎉🎉
I'm all in on the daily vlogging. You guys are legends and sailing rockstars, can I get a Hallelujah!
I live in Miyazaki prefecture boarder btw Kagoshima. I have been following you for years and I was so worry to know that you come to Japan from Southern part in Typhoon season. I am so glad that you made it safely. Thank you so very much to share your wonderful adventures with me. Please keep enjoying your adventures in 🇯🇵 Japan.
my respect for all the hard work putting out daily content. Still better than Netflix ;)
So many vlogs in a week, you guys are on fire🎉🎉
I love seeing different parts of the world through your lense ♡
Just no more risky times with potentially deadly creatures...ok?!?! 🤪❤
Yeah, I love these multiple part videos, too!
