I picked up 11” 256gigs last Friday and I love it. Never had a pro iPad. Upgraded from air 4 and the display is such a crazy upgrade!!! 120hz tandem oled just kills the iPad Air 4 screen. The performance and camera are noticeably better. And yeah performance is just crazy 🤪 Tomorrow my Magic Keyboard should arrive then I’m set for the next few years 🤌
Great work Aaron, I purchased the iPad pro4 mainly due to my compromised eyesight. I have had it just for two days and already my eyes don’t struggle like with the L.C.D. Screen I struggle with my eyesight in most things in every day life. So this I pad pro 4 is a a definite improvement to my everyday life. So up to now this is a great success.
Having had multiple corneal transplants I too struggle with my vision. I need extra light when reading a book and I had the contrast set to max on my iPad. Just waiting for my 13 inch pro 4 to arrive and am anticipating the new display may give me some assistance. I don’t imagine the new iPad is going to do anything my 2018 12.9 inch pro could do but I am hoping for a huge improvement in the screen.
I bought a 13" M1 iPad Pro with cellular and 2TB of storage for $919, an Apple Pencil for $50, and a new Magic Keyboard for $147. And I have never felt better about my $1200 purchase - absolutely validated.

it's really easy, actually - if your current iPad still does everything you need then keep it. Much later, once yours breaks, or you hand it down to your family member you can get yourself the newest one. This is what happened ot me: i gave my Pro to my parent so i'm getting the latest one. The few things to keep in mind is probably the connectivity or pencil support if those features are important enough to you to justify 1000€+ upgrade.

I got the 11 inch 256 GB last Saturday, along with the magic keyboard, and an Apple Pencil Pro. I absolutely love it. The display is beautiful, the speakers sound amazing, compared to the M2 iPad Pro that I had. On the magic keyboard, I love having the function row at the top, makes all the difference. I did order a dBrand skin for the keyboard, I had one on my last magic keyboard and loved it. I just can't stand how the material on the keyboard feels when it gets dirty
Re IPadOS - improve files to match finder, allow right click menu to open other than default eg ability to open word in pages without having to open pages first. Better sounds management, ability to separate audio streams - improved support for accessories, and finally ability to use the 16gm ram
I’m coming from an iPad 7th generation that developed a ghost touch issue after 3-4 years of use to just getting the iPad Pro 11 inch M4. Big upgrade for me! I am loving this thing so far!
I just upgraded my 2018 11, to the 11 m4, it's an upgrade in almost every way, but maybe in my specific use cases, I haven't noticed it as much as I thought, it's fast, I love the screen, we can only hope ipados 18 add more functionality to take more advantage of all this power, great video!
My M2 iPad Pro 12.9 was just not keeping up with my workflow so I’m glad the M4 has a bunch of performance improvements. I upgraded the second they were announced. Loving every second of it 😊
Your eyes may like the OLED better because the mini led screen had a really long response time resulting in lots of ghosting which can make you uncomfortable. It’s something I have noticed with my MacBook Pro. Glad you’re liking it and the PWM isn’t bothersome!
I've just upgraded from an M1 iPad air, back in the day I had the M1 pro, but didn't use it so much. But the M4 I just feel like is that bit faster and I'm definitely using this pro a lot more. Its the 11 inch 512GB. I do think my M1 ipad had a better battery, I do have 4 cycles but find it does drain a lot quicker, especially when not in use which isn't so good. But I do love the iPad, so for me it takes nothing away from the fact I'll be keeping it for years. Very glad to finally see battery health has come to iPad, think that's a very necessary addition as people keep their iPads longer usually.
Not enough people talk about the lightness that comes with it being so thin. I love the fact that it is more portable, even with the new Magic Keyboard. The disadvantage of the thinness comes with the speakers having slightly less bass response compared to the previous generation.
I have been using my M4 IPad 11 in. Every day since I got it, almost more than my phone and m2 MacBook and I can honestly say I am thoroughly enjoying it! The Magic Keyboard makes it feel more laptopish but the iPadOS feels more efficient than my iPhone 15 pro and more enjoyable if I’m chilling in the house. It looks amazing and feels like it. I can’t wait to see what it does with ios18. Great product ill have for years
I've been reading on some forums on Apple and Reddit that people are experiencing "Mura Effect" on both 11 and 13 inch Oled. It's around 25% brightness. If you look at greys, you can see a Grainy appearance. Could you please check yours? It's worrying me now to buy due to this. Check greys and blues out, even just your settings page as the bars are greyish. At about 25% brightness and look closely or take a close picture. Is there a grainy appearance?
My favorite apple device is the iPad Pro. People jus want to much from it. It’s a computer that’s a tablet man. 95% of people can use it as there main computer like i do and be just fine. Ans then at night use it for laptop stuff.
I think you missed the point of the video. He was saying unless you want the new oled screen then there is no point upgrading. I have a 12.9 M1 ipad pro and that is still way overpowered and can do everything the new ipad can do. Yes the new screen looks great but personally I can’t justify spending all that money on a way overpriced upgrade just for a little bit better screen.
Although I ordered the day of release, it has been showing June 15-20. Today they moved delivery up to June 3-10. 13' Pro, black, regular glass, Magic keyboard.👍
I upgraded from my M1 iPad Pro to the 2TB M4 iPad Pro (Standard Glass).. sure it's expensive but I'm planning to keep this for years to come. The one major difference which I'm enjoying is how light it is compared to the older M1. Also, I can see the difference having an OLED screen compared to the MiniLED.
I held on to my 2018 11 ipad pro waiting for the right time. I had the pencil 2nd gen and no keyboard. Well - I purchased the 1 TB 11" ipad pro, Keyboard, pencil regular screen with paperlike screen and pencil wrap. I bought a special case plus an Ankor power bank, and a docking plu in for a my HDMI, additional c connects USB A and even power plugged into the c connect. Well I want to leave my Microsoft laptop home. I also loaded MS Office with Notability for documenting. One confusing software is the Logic X. I used Login for over 15 years on the computer buut the ipad pro version confuses me. I disconnect the i[ad pro when needed and will treat this as my minnie computer. Thank Zollo for the continued info.
One thing I have always loved with the iPad and Magic Keyboard is just double tapping the space key so that is wakes up, scans my face and I am in. It’s so seamless.
The exaggerated thinness of the tablet makes the pencil look even thicker. I agree, leaving the tablet thicker to make it easier to handle and a bigger battery would be a much better improvement.
The decision to make the iPad thinner was definitely to support the Magic Keyboard balance. You get better angles, bigger trackpad and a function row. You either had to increase the weight of the keyboard or decrease the weight of the iPad.
Let’s hope we get significant iPadOS updates in a few weeks. Background processing while switching to another app, file management, and denser spacing for more widget options. But it will probably just whatever the iPhone got….last year.
this ipad has a great screen, but does it affect your eyes? what is your experience with it? i'm going to buy one for myself, but i'm a little worried about the PWM
A big advantage of the 13” over previous versions is it is a lot lighter to hold in tablet mode, and for myself as I regularly use outside the brighter display and nano texture will be noticeable benefits. A disadvantage of using over the Mac is often dumbed down apps over their Mac equivalents. It is not as bad as when I started using an iPad Pro with version 1, but still has somewhere to go before I can use my iPad for everything as I would like so I don’t have to carry two devices when travelling.
The new iPads look phenomenal but I can't justify upgrading at this point. I have an iPad Air 5th Generation with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil that works great for basic tasks like email, streaming, and light document work.
I don’t know why I like the camera design of previous ipad pros! This one just looks incomplete or very empty if that makes sense! I think its because of monotone and single camera😢
My M1 which I traded in for the M4 was almost as good. The main difference is the OLED screen that's an improvement. For me, I dont use the iPad for watching movies or whatever, instead, I use it for business so its a bad sale for me. I regret the purchase.
Next year (or a few years down the road) this chassis will be called ipad air and a thicker chassis may appear (with larger battery) called ipad pro. Then the "air" name will only finally make sense...
At 5:14 - OLED displays have much faster response times, that is what you are feeling. Although the LED displays on previous models were 120hz, their response times were much lower. Dave2D talked on this in his review and had the response time as 5ms on OLED vs the 39ms on the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 with the Mini-LED display.
It's apparently due to cheaper manufacturing, the early OLEDs used to have this, Samsung are natiorious for it from what I read.
Good video Aaron! I think that the feeling like it’s 120 Hz all the time sensation is likely due to the lesser response time from the OLED. Dave2D states that it is now 5s rather than >30 with the mini LED.
I want to buy the 1TB anyway. I am wondering why do you think most people should go for the glossy display besides having to use the special cleaning cloth?
Is there support for multiple external displays now, or are we still limited to just one display and not in full screen? As a dedicated Apple user across mobile and computing devices, I find the lack of this option quite disappointing.
Just one display still (up to 6k) only. Would be a solid option for the future (I agree) albeit I just run remote desktop via external display most of the time or alongside sidecar and remote desktop usually supports 1 display also anyway.
As most watched the keynote, we know it will be expensive. That’s expected as it’s Pro. The average Joe won’t buy this, but they have a great $349 model to buy or a Mini or Air … or even the 11-inch Pro if they want to flex a little. Once you get Final Cut, I think you’re video should be directed squarely at the Pro user, how it performs in that arena and how one might go about using this to get Work/Design/Pro work done. Drawing on a screen is a huge deal especially for previous Wacom users are concerned. We’ve been drawing on a gray slate in our lap while looking forward at a desk monitor which is hard to get use to. Now we can actually look where we’re drawing which is so vastly better. Great video. Subbed a long time ago and I LIKED the video! Thanks, Aaron!
I actually had to sell my M1 iPad Pro because while I loved it, I couldn't use it longer than an hour because my eyes got super red from the Mini-LED. Now with this I have almost no eye issues with it (I also use a matte screen protector though). So I can add onto your experience with that.
I bought the 11" M4 replacing the air 4th gen. Beautiful screen. Battery life I'm not sure on yet. Seems to drain more quickly, would make sense. But you can either have thinness or battery. The thinness is nice the first time you pick it up... But for me it then goes straight into a keyboard case so the thinness becomes a mute point. Wouldn't have minded closer to 6mm if it meant more battery.
I may be jumping the gun… as I am only about 5 min into the video…. I just upgraded from the 4th gen to this one and the only complaint I have is… regarding the Magic Keyboard. I love the design of the new keyboard… but I am really disappointed in the balancing of the device. When its on you lap..couch anything that is not a flat surface, it wants to fall backwards… which was not a problem with the old one. If you tilt the iPad forward enough it helps… but… a little bummed with that… other than that, it is AMAZING!
Hi Aaron, I would like if you can make a video of your favorite Apple product of each category that you use like a tech EDC setup and which Mac so you primarily use. It would help for Apple products decisions, thanks!
Great Video Aaron! I have a MacBook Air M2 and have tried all 3 IPad Sizes. For productivity and Digtal note taking do you recommend the 11 or the 13”? I had tried the 12.9 but found it to be too heavy to use it in tablet mode. Do you think this new lighter version makes it more palatable?
Coming from 9.7 IPad Pro, this tablet is different. It’s hard to explain. It could be just that its just newer to me but its feels great to use. I never thought I would buy the keyboard but it’s amazing.
That depends on the user. Just like a pen that could just be used to doodle a penis on the toilet wall or to outline an inspired multimillion dollar project or sign a multibillion dollar agreement.
A great holistic review & I think the M4 chip should give this longevity, so on & so forth. I would have like to see a larger battery & the camera still feels asymmetrical.. 👍
I'm a medical resident and to tell you the truth the iPad Pro does a lot of work for me than a Mac, I write my notes on the iPad, I take my rounds updates on the iPad, I study my text books on the iPad(which is far easy than carrying a 15lb book), I do my keynote presentations on iPad, do my thesis work on word on iPad, and of course also I consume my entertainment on my iPad, its one of the rare cases but, for a medical resident, doctor or even a medical student, it can be the perfect all in one device one can have.
Thank you for the in-depth coverage! For me, I feel like this is the first time in which the changes are enough to start considering a possible upgrade from my 2018 iPad Pro 11-inch. However, the price tag which keeps creeping up every generation makes it a hard sell. Furthermore, the fact that I still use the 2018 iPad Pro 11 for my daily tasks while still being snappy and having the same software support (for now) while still having aspects better than the latest iPad Air (screen refresh rate and speakers) make me feel like I’d rather wait another year or another generation before I seriously consider a change.
This would be my first iPad, but I am not sure if I should get a used older one, or an iPad air instead... What would you recommend? Would mainly use it for studying, note-taking and watching videos
Hello Aaron , I purchased a M4 iPad Pro 13” . The unboxing was usual , then the thinness and weight was amazing . I had the WiFi model . But after a video recording test I noticed that as panning the subject in the frame would wobble . I’ve tested this on all new iPads, 11”and air too , and it’s the same . Only, interestingly, the i pad mini is ok when using back camera
I changed from MacBook Air m2 to this there are some drawbacks like not having MacOS but I feel like once you get used to it and figure out how to use it proficiently I works well it’s also a little better in terms of speed for something and doesn’t get heated up as much!
As far as the thickness goes, I was watching another review and I think they hit the nail on the head - this iPad Pro 13” is thinner and lighter than the previous versions, which makes it easier to hold in your hand for longer periods of time. Yes I would have loved more battery but the trade-off as far as weight and thickness would make it harder to hold for longer periods. As far as iPadOS vs. MacOS, people you are just going to have to move past that. I just don’t see them changing it but iPadOS has gotten better over time.
Things Apple should do on the next iPad Pro to make it better: 1. Make it thicker, 2. Give us 20 to 25% more battery life, 3. Better front facing camera(as good as the Samsung Galaxy tab s9Ultra's), 3. Better speakers(as good as the Samsung tab s9 Ultra's).
At a starting price of $1300 for the 13 inch variant, not having a proper OS or applications that leverage the full power of the M4 processors is really mesmerizing to me. So much is jam-packed into these machines with little to no availability
Hello, could you answer a question for me please. What function does the escape key on the Magic Keyboard for the M4 iPad Pro serve? I haven’t so far found anything it does on my new iPad Pro…
Brilliant explanation of + & -‘s. I’ve been a Windows laptop user for 30y and also use iPad’s recent years for email, browsing, UA-cam, Netflix, A-Prime and now experimenting MS Office in iPad OS to see if I just need a new iPad (Pro) for one device and no longer need Windows laptop. I also use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop which may lend better to iOS? Thx for another great video
I bought a 6th gen plain old iPad with an OEM keyboard and a Pencil and wasn't impressed - I gave it to my wife who still uses it occasionally. I'm thinking real hard about buying an 11 inch iPad Pro 1 TB (after I buy a iPhone 16 Pro Max) - waiting a little while to see if there are any other developments on the iPad front. I can add a Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard after the initial purchase. Anyone know if the Paperlike 2.1 for the 11 inch works with the Pencil Pro?
I prefer the thinner design and lighter weight. One of the main reasons I upgraded was the awesome OLED display. Agree that iPad OS needs a finder-type files app.
I picked up a Matt glass screen protector. I usually use them on all my devices. I wonder what the big difference between the nano texture and a screen protector is as far as feel.
Even the M1 2021 iPad Pro is still way overpowered….man that thing is STILL a beast!

I don’t know why I like the camera design of previous ipad pros! This one just looks incomplete or very empty if that makes sense! I think its because of monotone and single camera😢
I don’t think the thinness is a odd compromise but a great one it makes it lighter and more pleasant to hold, even the big one!
My M1 which I traded in for the M4 was almost as good. The main difference is the OLED screen that's an improvement. For me, I dont use the iPad for watching movies or whatever, instead, I use it for business so its a bad sale for me. I regret the purchase.
Waiting for the mini refresh 😍 hopefully this fall
The mini is always the last thought even though it's my favorite they never get love
The iPad mini is still a solid iPad to go travelling, etc
Rumors are the Mini won't be refreshed until 2026!
Like the wallpaper. Is that part of the ones included?
Next year (or a few years down the road) this chassis will be called ipad air and a thicker chassis may appear (with larger battery) called ipad pro. Then the "air" name will only finally make sense...
At 5:14 - OLED displays have much faster response times, that is what you are feeling. Although the LED displays on previous models were 120hz, their response times were much lower. Dave2D talked on this in his review and had the response time as 5ms on OLED vs the 39ms on the M1 iPad Pro 12.9 with the Mini-LED display.
Maybe, but I believe there is more to it than that.
It's apparently due to cheaper manufacturing, the early OLEDs used to have this, Samsung are natiorious for it from what I read.
Do you know what the PWM rates are??
Good video Aaron! I think that the feeling like it’s 120 Hz all the time sensation is likely due to the lesser response time from the OLED. Dave2D states that it is now 5s rather than >30 with the mini LED.
I am really liking this performance on this M4 iPad Pro, nice video Aaron!
Great video as always. Keep it up😊
I bought the 11" M4 replacing the air 4th gen.
Got the 1 TB 13”. It’s my first IPad Pro. I love it so far! Fanfreakingtastic!
🙋♂️THANKS AARON FOR THE UPDATE 😎💚💚💚
Congratulations to you for being so honest. Unlike most of the Apple fan boys on You Tube.
Watching this on my very, very capable 9th gen iPad for $249. Never feels slow or warms up.
Do you think the 16gb version is really worth it vs the 8gb?
Coming from 9.7 IPad Pro, this tablet is different. It’s hard to explain. It could be just that its just newer to me but its feels great to use. I never thought I would buy the keyboard but it’s amazing.
Just get this when it on sale when the next ipad pro comes out. 40% off. Last ipad pro can be had for $550 right now at staples
The front facing camera does lower resolution because it's capable of Center Stage.
The ultimate Netflix and UA-cam machine. 😂
That depends on the user. Just like a pen that could just be used to doodle a penis on the toilet wall or to outline an inspired multimillion dollar project or sign a multibillion dollar agreement.
That's all it is
Since the M4 iPad Pro was out and has Face ID, does it still have support to set up Personalizaed Spatial audio?
A great holistic review & I think the M4 chip should give this longevity, so on & so forth. I would have like to see a larger battery & the camera still feels asymmetrical.. 👍
I just got the iPad Air 128GB space grey today!
I think the new surface has convinced me to say goodbye to my MacBook Air and iPad Air 2020
I luv watching your videos, you explain everything, I like the wallpaper, where can I get the link to download it?
I have the eye issue on a surface. Will this iPad have that issue?
A whole week. That’s cute. iPad has been my main device for everything since 2011
Well, it’s only been out that long. But I’ve been using an iPad since the original. I love them.
@@zollotech I love them too. I was the only kid in my nursing classes using only an iPad in 2011-14.
Only, interestingly, the i pad mini is ok when using back camera
will arrive battery health to oders iPad models? like 9 gen and 10 gen ?
I made the same purchase, love all the components, however, the ESC button seems that it does nothing
I can't wait to receive my 13", 2TB, space black, iPad Pro with the nano texture in a little more than a week!!!
Do you think it is worth upgrading from the Air M1 to this model considering I use an iPad basically as a laptop?
I changed from MacBook Air m2 to this there are some drawbacks like not having MacOS but I feel like once you get used to it and figure out how to use it proficiently I works well it’s also a little better in terms of speed for something and doesn’t get heated up as much!
Any good? Been in the market for a large, Apple tablet with organic light-emitting diode's 😊
Have you had a chance Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator with the iPad?
As far as the thickness goes, I was watching another review and I think they hit the nail on the head - this iPad Pro 13” is thinner and lighter than the previous versions, which makes it easier to hold in your hand for longer periods of time. Yes I would have loved more battery but the trade-off as far as weight and thickness would make it harder to hold for longer periods. As far as iPadOS vs. MacOS, people you are just going to have to move past that. I just don’t see them changing it but iPadOS has gotten better over time.
I actually find it less comfortable to hold due to the thinness.
they still need to fix the bug when my iPad disconnects from monitor when battery is fully charged
I have a 2018 and 2020 iPad Pro. Those are still overkill for me lol. Enjoy.
Hey Aaron the wallpaper you shared doesn’t look like the one on your iPad in the video ?
Excellent review and conclusion. I have the pro version, 1st generation and I don’t think I can upgrade yet. The difference is not huge.
Battery life is good enough I prefer it to be thinner
Can u use new ipad keyboard for older m1 or m2 ipads?
Does the Apple Pencil scratch the iPad screen or do I need to put a screen protector on it
No, it does not
@@zollotech I’m looking to get the iPad Pro 13 inch with the pencil was thinking 1tb with 16 gb ram to future proof it
How do you think it runs games like pubg mobile, call of duty etc?
I like that you put what chapter number and name is next on the bottom left
You should do it for all ur videos
I bought a 6th gen plain old iPad with an OEM keyboard and a Pencil and wasn't impressed - I gave it to my wife who still uses it occasionally.
I'm thinking real hard about buying an 11 inch iPad Pro 1 TB (after I buy a iPhone 16 Pro Max) - waiting a little while to see if there are any other developments on the iPad front.
I can add a Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard after the initial purchase.
Anyone know if the Paperlike 2.1 for the 11 inch works with the Pencil Pro?
Your iPad is 1Tb? Or the 500 Gb
I prefer the thinner design and lighter weight. One of the main reasons I upgraded was the awesome OLED display. Agree that iPad OS needs a finder-type files app.
What sim plan option are you using?
I picked up a Matt glass screen protector. I usually use them on all my devices. I wonder what the big difference between the nano texture and a screen protector is as far as feel.
