Thanks for your video. I have a Kohler Command Pro CH25S that one coil is very weak and causing missing , engine shutting off when pto engaged. From what I have read this is common, so common that Kohler came up with service upgrade. I think I have a DSAM system. 4 different colored wires from the main module "box". I have read that I can replace with another coil like what I have or for me I would replace both. I have also read that the SAM whether analog or digital need to be upgraded to the MDI conversion. I am hoping that I don't need to replace the flywheel as well....do you know if the DSAM needs the flywheel changed as well as coils? This mower is in great condition to be a 2001 but it has a lot of hours so I don't want to invest too much....I wanted to use it another season then sell it Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
i have a sensor equiped with 2 coils. The manual says the coils should read .40 - .48 ohms. My meter reads .88 ohms across each coil. Do you think that is out of tolerance for a coil ??
Not a bad coil, it was a bad coil wire. The Ignition (spark plug wire) wire just screws into the coil - so unscrew it and replace (very cheap compared to coil) Also you could unscrew the wire and retest to verify. #4 is called Ground. #2 &1 are Primary and the spark plug wire is the secondary circuit.
@@RealManSkills I found out what it was. 10amp fuse blown. I checked stator and voltage regulator and both checked good but I had an open hot line so traced it back to the fuse
Hello, I have a Kohler Command CH22s v-twin horizontal engine on a Toro zero turn mower, the engine has no spark on both cylinders. After watching your video I tested the coils and one tested bad. If one coil is bad would that cause it to lose spark on the other cylinder as well? I believe this engine has the smart spark system.
Table is a big help
Trying to find out how to test the new style Honda 4 terminal coil

I can't say that I know anything about that upgrade. However, I have seen other youtubers share some info about it.

I have a john deere m665 that has a 25hp Kohler command. It has no spark at either cylinder. I've traced wires and cant find anything wrong
Electrical issues are from the pit of hell. Check all the safety switches.

I am not familiar with the smart start system. Sorry.
So those metal tabs, can you use those to get a source of power for anything?
No. Power goes into them, not out of them.
