I started 20 of the Pachanoi Cer-A1xKnuthianus seed you sent me. So far have 17 out of 20 poppin up. Thx for quality seed jerry!
Good to hear that, Brett! Thanks for trusting my seeds :)
@@sanpedromastery6262 Vho-ho-ho.. I don't know actually, what's going on here (yet), but I'm "fallible" to find out more, even so to forward it, as order some seeds me as well TOO, if I find a decent, reasonable honest, down-to - Earth fair enthusiastic individual behind this channel.. How long should I run the T5 fluorescent light per day for germination?
How long did it take to grow them till let's say 1 meter (or 3 feet) high?
I've got many coming up right now and let me tell you how I did it. I put them in a monotub used for growing mushrooms. I tried several different methods and got zero germination. Then, I put about 3 inches of soil in the bottom of the monotub. The monotub is a plastic tote with a clear lid. It has 3 large holes on each long side near the soil line and two holes on the short sides at the top. These are then stuffed with polyfil which causes high humidity, but constant fresh air exchange. They are ALL coming up.
Thanks to this channel I literally have hundreds of cactus babies.
That is great to hear! :)
How long did you wait to put the seedlings in direct sunlight?
I just discovered your Channel. Great work!
Thanks and welcome! :)
Yessss Updated version!!! Always hyped to see a new vid up:)
Very detailed and experienced advice from a dedicated master;
Excellent.
Thanks for the kind words! :)
I can attest to the quality of Jerry´s cacti seeds...I bought 20 seeds of two varities from him, and sowed them exactly ten days ago, This morning the first very tiny green points became visible on the soil. I have followed his advice as per this video: I sterilized the soil (in the oven, not in a pressure cooker) and mixed it with 50 percent Perlite. I used bottled water to moisten the soil, and wrapped the container with cling film (which I additionally secured with a rubber band around the outer rim of the box). The container was placed on the windows sill and covered by a sheet of kitchen paper, to avoid too harsh sunlight. the temeprature was around 20 - 22 degrees Celsius by day, and around 16 -18 by night.
And voilá, the seeds came up.
Thank you Jerry for all the work you put into your videos, and for the excellent quality of the seeds.
Thank you very much for the kind review, I appreciate! :)
Where can we buy seeds or seedlings from you at? Love your videos!!!
@@sanpedromastery6262 you are welcome! :-)
How did you go about sterilizing the soil in the oven?
@@bobbymiller4414 I moistened the soil with bottled water and put it into a steel pot. Covered with tin foil. Put pot in the oven, heated at 150 degrees Celsius (=300 Fahrenheit) and checked the soil temperature with a thermometer. Cooked at internal temperature around 85 Celsius / 185 Fahrenheit for about twenty minutes..
Woah perfect timing! I’m going to sow my seeds this afternoon using instructions from you other videos, but now this one too! You’re a saint!
First time I've ever been called a saint! lol Thanks my friend.
Would suggest avoiding peat based compost as peat bogs are an increasingly scarce natural ecosystem.
I planted my cacti about 3/4 weeks ago and little cacti are growing now. But when is the right time to change the cacti’s ‘climate ? When they just started to grow or a little bit later? And does the temperature needs to be above 20 degree Celsius?
Thankyou for the video and information 😁
Any books you recommend on how to grow from start to finish and learn all the other necessary information?
I bought some Bridgesii seeds from this guy. Great germination rate and they're growing great after almost a year. Highly recommend buying from him.
Does he have awebsite?
@@Growingdopamine818 His email is in the description
You say if you sterilize soil you leave them under the clear wrap for 6-8 months. But earlier in the video you say you have to remove the clear wrap completely and when they are 2 months they are more tolerable to dry soil. Which one is correct, these contradict. Could you please explain. Thank you.
If you dont sterilize the soil you have to remove the clear wtap, if you sterilize them you can leave it with the clear wrap for several mobths

why so much cactus in 1 tube? & how to pot them over when bigger if their are 100s of cactus in 1 tube (regarding to roots etc) & when their gettting bigger wouldnt it be a mess and walk to problem later in grow stage? @sanpedromastery
What do you mean "seeds that are unpollinated"? In my experience, the seeds don't get pollinated, the flowers get pollinated. The flowers will not set seed if they are not pollinated. Please explain what you mean. I think you mean to say something else.
He's saying "Hand pollinated", with a french accent
I got 20 seeds from this guy, 19 out of 20 came up and are still with me 3 months later
......I think I'm set on cacti for awhile!
When sterilizing soil, would you recommend mixing in perlite first? Or sterilizing then mixing? Since I'm very capable with a pressure cooker, I figured I'd sterilize my soil. Just wondering if you sterilize it after mixing with perlite or before. 🤔🙏✌🍄💚
if you mix the perlite in after sterilizing, your soil won't be sterilized anymore. mix it all up, then sterilize.
Can’t wait to order some seeds ! Awesome video.
I’ll definitely be messaging you for some seeds at some point !
Do you have a guide with pictures for reading
I want you people who are interested in growing San Pedros n such to know that they grow like 1cm under good circumstances per year and you need like 10cm for a trip.... So... better look for some Shroom Grow Teks I guess. If you still wanna grow cactus know they have a beautiful flower. Nonetheless this was a very good guide. Good Job. Thx.
What is the reason for T5? T= Tubular and 5= Diameter. The temperature of the color doesn't change going from LED to Fluorescent and I don't see a reason for shape and size of the lamp making a difference aside from the obvious (not enough light or getting burned).
Im ready to get mine soon. SPM is the best when it comes to this stuff.
Thanks my friend! :)
Thankyou for your videos! I watch them alot to try keep my Pedro's good. Can I sprinkle cinnamon over my seedlings or will that effect them?
Thank you for all the great work you do.
Can I use boiled tap water UK Birmingham
Thanks for the video!
Any experience/thoughts on grafting globular cacti onto columnar cacti for faster growth?
I've never done it. It's ideal for people who are impatient, or just like to experiment with different techniques. If you do it, make sure it's not a plant you are attached to, as sometimes grafts fail, especially the first tries.
In our municipality, we do not add any chloride to the water supply. Instead, the water is filtered through UV radiation before it is delivered into the water grid.
can i put them under my cannabis grow led? why does t5 led not work? not enough brightness or is it the spectrum?
if you used peat moss soil would youi mix 50/50 with perlite like you did with regular soil?
I did everything exactly how how he did it except I actually disinfected the soil and perlite mix in a instapot … I only sowed 20 seeds so we will see .. 10 days hmmm
How long should I run the T5 fluorescent light per day for germination?
My seedlings are all red will they recover ?
Too much water or too much sun
Happy to see new videos!!
Very informative! As always!
Hola I'm looking for your contact to buy real San Pedro seeds . How can we get in touch
Thank you for sharing all this with us, this channel is a treasure
Thanks for the kind words!! :)
Can I germinate in my veg area. It’s around 350 500 ppfd?
Hydrogen peroxide helps germinate some seeds, maybe it could help these and also clean them.
My seedlings are turning light in color and are dying rapidly, any suggestions?
💚
could anybody offer me advice i have to young cacti i have grown from seed but they have started to lean greatly almost growing horizontally is it safe for me to lean them back upright and support them with a toothpick or something?
Yes you can try with a toothpick, but some of them might not like the contact with the toothpick and rot.
Sewed my seeds on 11/17/21 and saw results a week and a half later. Thank you so much! I would've never started this if you had not shown me how easy it can be!
How big are they now?
Wonderful video for cactus seedings! 👍👍👍
My question is, why no wood pieces in the soil?
Who can point me in the right direction for some seeds?
Does anyone know any reputable seller that will ship seeds to Brazil? I found literally no ecommerces or shops for trustable seeds in my country..
Why will T8 bulbs not work for this?
DO NOT USE MIRACLE GROW!!!
Can a red sun burned seedling recover?
Put your soil mixture into a mason jar with filter on top and aluminum foil over the lid so water doesn't get in. Put in a pressure cooker for 1 and 1/2 hrs at 15 psi. This will sterilize the soil. If you want to pasteurize the soil, which I prefer, put mason jar in pot of water at 150 degrees for 2 hours. This will kill harmful bacteria while leaving beneficial bacteria behind.
Where is a reliable source to get seeds?
PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS
brother)) greetings from Russia.... I use chlorhexidine for disinfection of soil and seeds.... thanks for the video!!)
hi, thanks for all that information. why do you advise against t5 leds? the tubes went out of production in august 23.
Where did you buy seeds from
Thank You Jerry! I just bought a Pack 100. So many extra seeds. Not just the ones you mark as extra. Each pack of 100 had atleast 120 seeds and one almost 150. I have sown quite a few of them, and the ones I can count are germinating 24 of 28 and 36 of 40. The rest I can't get a good count but they are similar. I used this method and tried several soil mixes, vermiculite works well in Aurora CO. Thank you. !!!!❤❤❤❤
Great video! Definitely about to hit you up
If only i could find seeds
I wanted to know, out of 20 only one has germinated. How should I proceed? Is it possible to contact you personally? Thank u ☺️
Why not T5 LEDs? That's what I bought and it seems to have the same characteristics as fluorescents? Mine is 2x2ft 60W 6500K.
I put my seeds under it last saturday (21°C / 12hrs light).
Some of my seedlings are on their side. How do I know which side should be down and which should be up?
Jerry from france
Sowing my first seeds this weekend using this method! I have a question about how low is ok for temps to drop at night. Is low 60s F ok?
Wow. Right as I ordered some seeds. Good timing.
Wow, right as I ...um.....a........

What varieties/ species?
I know the creator of this video has a friend in Olds Alberta that was helping me with some information but I can’t figure out the name of the shop?
Hi, I have about 30 seedlings here that have started browning recently. If overwatering is the issue, can I hold off from watering for a while and they might improve? They are not shrivelled, and do still have green in them, but have became quite dark. Hoping I can save them.....
It may be that they're getting sunburnt, sometimes they turn dark red/purple if they're getting too much direct sun. When they are small they are fairly fragile/finicky but once they get a bit bigger they are very hardy.
Thanks Jerry, so nice to get those info. When you say 1 part of soil and 1 part of perlite, you mean in volume not weight, right ?. Perlite is a very light material.
Thank you 🙏
Hey man, what do you say about right pH for cactus? Is it ok to use rhizotonic with cactus?
Thank you for providing these! How do you get rid of fungus nats?
Hang Raid fly tape around them it will kill thousands in one week.
You Rock Jerry!
What u think Is old? I got some seed i buy a year ahí.. are they old?
Dis moi tu a déja fait pousser du aztkium ritteri ? Je voudrais essayer mais j'aimerais de conseils vu qu'apparament c'est difficile aussi tu a besoin de combien de temps pour faire germer du cactus de san pedro ? I write it in french because i think with your accent u are french , i can ask the same in english if you prefer
Is it possible to grow them in seed starter and germination box I bought awhile ago? Or should I use a smaller container with cling film?
My seeds wont grow further than 09:10 i dont know why
Hi Jerry. Great videos on San Pedro! Thanks :) How can I buy some seeds from you?
Jerry is the best. Order was delivered promptly and have only seen fantastic results. Thanks Jerry!
Merci, j'ai planté 20 graines en décembre, je commence à voir les cactus sortir de terre. C'est beau, très lent mais tellement satisfaisant.
Do you have a different website now? Your old one has been down for a couple months.
Now I just send a list by email :)
I started some old seeds (8 years) in pure hydrated coco coir.
They are beginning to germinate, but I imagine I’ll need to feed them with fertilizer every couple weeks
100 seeds, about 5 germinated so far.
>5% on 8 year old seeds, not too bad
plastic wrap is the generic north american term.
I use a water conditioner for fish tanks to treat all my plants. One bottle can last you months depending on how many cacti you have. I also dust the compost after planting the seeds with powdered cinnamon to prevent mould or fungus growing.
Do any of your seeds take months to germinated or is that only with certain species of cacti?
How do you use the conditioner? And how much of it? Thanks
This may be a question for email, but do you ship seeds to the USA or just to the EU?
Thank for all the help!
Do you have any seeds available?
about to buy 1000 bridgessi seeds 💛
Can I use coco instead of potting soil?
How to order your seeds and seedlings?
When can i expose them to the sun? Right after the seeds germinated?
2:23 would pure peat and perlite work well?
Amazing work mate! Looking forward to hopefully trying this one day soon!
Thanks for the content
Great informative video 👍
There are barely any videos on San Pedros. Please make a video showing fancy named clones and explaining the different names of them. We want to learn about juuls giant, super pedro, sopulicola, sharxx blue and other fancy high dollar ones :) PLEASE JERRY
Thanks for the suggestion. I find all my plants around Spain and the south of France. Most were brought from South America by collectors and botanists 100 years ago or over, and there is some cool stuff in there, a lot of it still little known. I don’t have many of those classics you mention. Other people have plenty, they should be the ones doing videos. If no-one does a video on that topic, maybe I’ll end up acquiring more of these plants and doing that video myself. In any case, I agree I should show more of my plants, will try to do that in future videos. :)
@@sanpedromastery6262 well then maybe do a video of the cool ones that you have! I just started my collection 2 months ago and am LOVING this hobby. Please make a video showing your collection and explaining the genetics! WE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS JERRY!!!
How fresh should the seeds be?? I bought my seeds about this time last year and I haven't had time to plant them, do you think they will still germinate??
Ideally, they're sown after the outer layer of the seed is dry/hardened enough, and probably best within the season. Seeds can last several years under the right conditions though - % of germination goes down the longer you wait, however. 600, 2000, even 32,000 year-old seeds have been germinated before for other plants, so I guess you can't know til you try! :) Yours aren't that old; you'll probably still get a cool turnout.
Those little babies are so cute!
Where can I get the seeds?
Jerry I am not able to email you with that link. I have tried twice and no luck.
The email address is correct, and I do receive emails. Please double check the spelling, or try from a different email service provider.
