    Baron is the dream aircraft for me personally. Such a cool plane.

    I don't know if I heard you right. Did you say that wasn't the NXI, or was? We just recently got the NXI in the sim and I love it. I can't wait until they get all of it's books in on the MFD.

      This is the NXI, some pretty cool features but the audio panel has some fancy features we are trying to figure out. I believe this newer Baron has a more sophisticated radar too.

      @@ProPilotPete Microsoft Flight Sim started out with the old G1000 when it first came out last year. A third party started modifying it to fit the NXI parameters offering it to anyone for free. Microsoft and Asobo started adding it as a free upgrade in the sim shortly after and hired Working Title, the guys that did the work, to come work for them directly. They said this was a work in progress and plan on getting the NXI in the game as close to real as the NXI in real life. They still have some books and chapters to go, but it sure is nice already. I have learned a heck of a lot. Thiings have sure changed since I was taking lessons and flying in the early 70"s.
      Back then it was $19 an hour for lessons and that's the plane wet and with the instructor. I'll quit rambling now and let you get back to important stuff. :D

      @@1OldBuzzard will be uploading later on tonight or tomorrow, flew this one again, very low ifr departure and a low ifr approach. Good times! Thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@ProPilotPete I'm sure I'll watch it. It may have to wait until the guys and I do our virtual flight. We are doing an around the world trip. It has 435 legs total. We started on the first leg that was in the US which was leg 278 and it started in Canada and ended in KSEA. We are on leg 388 tonight. That one is CYRI - CYGP. I've done the majority of my legs in the Baron that has the P model modification. Love that turbocharger.
      I hope you don't mind, but I posted a few of your videos on the Discord channel I set up for the guys and I to use to talk to each other while flying. I posted the ones that good instructional videos that are really relevant for our flying in the sim.

    What is the larger black button on the right side of the yoke? Inside of the ident button.

      I think what you’re looking at is the map light.

      That must be it. Was sitting in someone’s G58 this morning and I forgot to ask! You weren’t kidding about the seat height; my head was hard against the ceiling. I’m 6’3”, so tall, but not *that* tall. I was surprised at how cozy the shoulder room was. The Archer I fly seems wider.

    Nice job. Smooooth landing. A GUMP question: don't move the props to forward on short final ? Thanks.

    • @ProPilotPete
      @ProPilotPete  2 роки тому +2

      I don’t. The Baron and Bonanza have plenty of power at 2500 rpm’s. If it were a short strip I would, helps with drag too. If I have plenty of runway, which is mostly the case, you don’t get that high rev when pushing props up to 2700. Lots of King Air guys do the same. The extra drag makes the float so short you don’t have a lot of time to finesse a good landing. Thanks for watching!

      @@ProPilotPete Hi. Thanks for replying. As an old (70s) flyer, I'm also still learning to deal with the digital panels flying the sim, of course. What a difference from my C47s. 😅
      Safe flying.

      To forward? Well the props are already outside the cockpit.
