Nice video, Terry! I’ve been tying blood knots in my homemade leaders for 30 years and I didn’t even know there was a tool for it. I’ll still do it the old fashioned way, but I’m going to buy a tool for my 12 year old daughter to use. As you said, it does a great job of helping new fly fishers understand how the knot is to be tied. Thanks!
It seems way easier to tie it using this tool tho? I know how to tie the know and have tied many of them but sometimes it can be a task holding the thin tippet and leader
Mark Sleeper Mark, the tool makes it easy, probably after awhile you won't need the tool but it sure helps to make it easy to learn. Thanks for your interest Mark.
This was an EXCELLENT video friend because u had the camera zoomed in nice and tight so your audience could see everything! Thank you! With this tool is there enough room that I could wrap the lines 7 to 9 times on each side? . I'm trying to learn this knot to use for bass fishing with a leader knot to my braid. I cant find a good video to see how to do the knot with my fingers and no tool because everyone's video the fingers always get in the way and I cant see where the tag ends are going in the hole where u say one line goes up and one line goes down. Question, when u do your video with the tool , does it matter which line u choose to go up thru center hole and which one goes down? Thanks for a good video!
So, I’ve had this tool for many years and love using it to tie my own leaders, But…….the rubber pieces are worn and loose and do not hold down the leader material very well any longer. Where can I get replacements without having to purchase a brand new tool?
It is or was made by Dennison Co. In Framingham Mass. they were bought out by Avery co. Now Avery Dennison and moved to California. I can’t find if they are still making the tool or someone else is. It’s a Cluster,,,, save yourself time and frustration buy a new one. Sorry I don’t have a better solution.
Wow, that's really nice. Thanks for passing this video!
Thank you sir.

Not at all Rogue, after using the tool for awhile you will probably discard it and tie the knot free hand.
Where can you get this tool.
+Glenn Whitaker see comments below Glenn, thanks
