    I truly believe, that if this was a Hollywood production, Michael would've won an Oscar for this. His performance was just genius. Saying that, I'm happy it isn't. This movie is perfect the way it is.

    Pellicola molto bella ispirata alla vera storia di Bobbo Sands e del suo sciopero della fame insieme ad altri prigionieri, certo nulla di eccezionale ma comunque una pellicola gradevole, c'è un anacronismo e cioè il fatto che La Ford Granada di Raimondo Lohan è una Mk2 Facelift, che è stata rilasciata nell'inverno del 1981 e sarebbe apparsa sulle strade irlandesi nel 1982, quindi molto bella e molto bella per me come valutazione è 7,5.

      Well if you consider the Irish Catholics and the Northern Irish protestant (who are majority of English descent ) then I think you can see the movie as very racial. But maybe its a stretch.

    • @ephraimduke
      @ephraimduke 4 роки тому +4

      @jon tyler Ulster protestants are mostly descended from people of the Scottish low lands and Northern England who were sent to colonize the area by the English . So yes I was wrong they are not predominantly of English descent but they are (predominantly ) not of Irish origin . Hence the Ulster allegiance to the English crown and the British government. My original point and conclusion remains correct .

    • @siobhanofarrell4646

      EC87 Telling the Truth isn’t “glorifying”. One of my cousins was taken to Castlereigh and tortured. The brits tore his fingernails out with pliers. This was the reality in the H Blocks of Long Kesh. Another of my cousins was a blanket man like Bobby Sands. They were being brutalized - savagely beaten, sexually assaulted by the screws, forced to sleep on mattresses soaked in their own urine, waking up with maggots in their hair. You have no idea the Hell young men like my cousin Declan endured. Our boys are the best, bravest people I know. If you REALLY want to know the effects hunger striking has on the human body - watch Bobby Sands 66 Days. Before he died Bobby’s bowels burst. When his sister Marcella left the room for a moment to take a phone call - not long before he died - they didn’t want to allow her to go back in to be with him. You have NO idea - the sorts of sadistic things that were said and done to the families of those young men. But in death they were victorious. And the hunger strikes were a massive defeat for Thatcher militarily and politically. I know Bobby and the other hunger strikers are in Heaven because they’ve already served their time in Hell. As for Thatcher - that miserable, stinking rusty dried up old bitch is burning in Hell - because she earned her place there. She earned her place sanctioning the torture of young men like my cousin, sanctioning a Shoot to Kill policy.
