Even owning a Pixel Fold, I'm interested. My biggest issue with niche products is there's no physical location to go and touch it, leaving a need to spend $1500 just to SEE if you like it as much as you think you will. That's crazy.
Just received mine on Friday. Not gonna lie, I completely agree with your take. I was NOT hot on foldables, but I've long been a OnePlus guy. This is the most exciting phone I've bought in the past 5 years, easy. Not to mention... The best performing. I'm blown away. Highly recommended!
I received mine on Friday too. Getting 10hrs SOT with 20% left..insane. Ofc no gaming. But lots of videos, UA-cam, browsing etc. Absolutely impressed with the device so far coming from s23u. Had fold 4 for few months, this is the foldable I should have bought first...glad I did it now
@@ThisIsTechToday many of the UA-cam tech channels are trashing the camera and are mad with the software. You're the very few ones to state that you liked it. May be pressure from Sammy to make them give negative feedback. I'm cent percent sure if anyone holds this device and uses it , they will like it. Is it a perfect device? Hell no. But this covers all the checkboxes for a great folding phone. I just love the not so over processed mobile photography in some time. The hardware is best and I'm getting some really good mirror less quality shots in good light conditions if you're ready to tweak settings and use the pro mode. Even the normal mode is great in good lit conditions. As said for guys used to ultra processed mobile phone photos, they will not immediately appreciate this. This is really good. A Gcam port will work wonders with this hardware. They have to give some good software fix and this will be one hell of a phone. OnePlus has got a winner in their hands after the OP7 Pro. Don't know what cooling system they did, this phone doesn't even get warm. Hence the great battery life. Anyone wanting a folding phone should have this in top of their list. Period. Thanks for the reviews and you got a new sub. Cheers
Traded in my S23 Ultra and received mine on Friday. Due to preordering I received a bonus amount on top of the $800 that made it a complete no brainer. The Oneplus Pro 2 Earbuds they threw in are awesome. Only 3 days in but easily the best phone i have had and i habe used alot. Totally agree with your take and highly recommend. The only negative thing I have noticed is the software has been a little buggy at times. Like apps closing, the image tranfer from open to close and vice versa not always smooth. Some hate the camera bump, I love it. It is a great finger rest and really sets the phone apart to where I i have had several people ask based on the camara bump, what phone is that? I had a Samsung Fold 3, returned after a month. This is completely better. The form factor is just right. Also shocked at how light it was when first removing from the box. If you're on the fence, jump and go get it. You won't be disappointed! Great review!!
When you get a crazy deal, you gotta jump on it! Glad you're having similar experiences as I am and are enjoying it. Thanks for sharing your experience and the kind words!
I will never trade my S23 ultra for any device. It's an amazing device no doubt. But will trade my secondary device S23 for this. S23 speaker are very low otherwise it's also a nice device. But one plus open is extraordinary. So keeping S23 ultra and open side by side I thoroughly enjoyed.
@@thelaststandhdr don’t lie. You will absolutely trade in your s23 ultra. Eventually, it’ll become old and you’ll want a new phone, so you’ll trade it in or sell it. You aren’t keeping it forever. Don’t be silly.
@@romitjethwaney there are literally samples in this video lmao. It looks great. Are you selectively listening to those reviews? It’s not perfect or the best out there, but most of the reviewers that received the device at the same event as me think it’s a good camera.
The Open is a great improvement for North America foldable choices, but still not quite there for me. I'd still want an on-screen finger print sensor, grade 3 face unlock, and wireless charging. That will be my next foldable. :)
I'm actually super interested in the Open as an upgrade to my OnePlus 8 which has been rock-solid for the last 3.5 years. I'm really hoping their discount promotions stay in effect for a while as I can get closer to $260 off as a student opposed to the (admittedly still really good) $200 off device trade-in value. I've pretty much gotten used to the lack of wireless charging on my OnePlus 8 and that doesn't bother me, I am a bit curious about how well I'll adjust to the side-mounted fingerprint scanner though. Then again my previous LG G6 had it on the rear of the phone, my OP8 has it under the screen, so I figure I'll get over it pretty quickly haha.
@@ThisIsTechToday As awesome as that would be, I'd double check that. The site specifically says "Get an exclusive 15% student discount or employee discount. *Coupons cannot be combined."
6:58 how does the software mix with a Samsung smartwatch? I am considering trading my S22 ultra, the non-wireless charging is a hard option since I have a wireless charger on my nightstand no room or capacity to plug in overnight.
The $200 off the open is just a launch and blackfriday (maybe Christmas too) promo they have going on since preorders. You do not need to send in anything, this is just optional if you have a device you want to get rid of and they will pay for the shipping. Ofc you can trade in a newer phone and get credit. But the $200 is a given, with no conditions
@@ThisIsTechToday I might have been unclear. There are no conditions to the $200 off. I have ordered a open from oneplus' website and emailed support about this. It's basically flat priced at $1500usd. You do not need to send anything to get the $200 'discount'
I should have listened but hesitated because I wasnt sure if I was ready for a foldable yet, but I ordered one last week and am absolutely blown away with the experience. It is an amazing device and I am kind of bummed I missed out on their crazy deals at launch.
Three years later I'm still enjoying my $1800 Samsung Z fold 2 5g and my Z fold 2 is still enjoying me. Wont be upgrading until the battery no longer holds a charge. I would be a fool if I went and paid another almost $2 grand for a handheld device instead of just keeping the almost $2 grand in my hand. That's a hard ass pass.
2:31 on forums people are not happy with the way they tell you to pay one price after traid in then offer you way less then they quoted you may people are saying they traded in a perfect no issues no cosmetic issues phone oneplus said worth UP TO 700.00 after they shop the oneplus and they have your phone they offer 10.00 for the trade in I sent mine back didn't even open the fedex box as I didn't want this scam to happen to me ill sell my phone and then buy a new somewhere else
I'm glad about everything that one plus did since One plus 11. The only reason I am not buying this is because of launch of 8 Gen 3, I could stretch my current device for that. If open had been there in somewhere around July I would have bought it without second thought. It's just great 😁
I like it but I'm not yet ready to give up my Surface Duo 2. There's just something about having two separate screens; kinda like having two monitors on your desktop, only in your pocket!
This looks like the best foldable I've seen yet. The only reason I'm going to skip it is that I purchased my OnePlus 11 back in February and I love it too much to move on. This has been an excellent year for oneplus. Between the 11, Open and the Pad they've had an amazing year.
I agree! I almost used the OP11 as a daily driver until I got a Xiaomi 13 and fell in love with that one more, lol. People are sleeping on OnePlus, but they're back and better than ever!
I actually got the 11 in June. I'm trading it in for this. They quoted me on 600. This plus the 200 automatic trade in deal. The I'll hopefully sell the earbuds that were included in free. To make it under 900
Mine took a dive coming out of my pocket and hit the concrete. I had the case on it that came in the box but I neglected to use the adhesive strips so the front case popped off. But other than that I just got a small dent in the corner of the frame. Not hugely happy about it but considering I keep it cased it's a big deal. And after almost a month of use I couldn't be happier.
You have a similar experience to mine, lol. That corner dent. Ouch. Sorry you went through that, but thankfully it's kind of a tank! Glad you're enjoying it.
Can this device use tent mode or table top mode like the pixel fold? And when I say that I mean still use the outer screen as a media consumption screen in an angle without jumping to the inner screen?
I just tested this, and yes! You just pick out the video while on the internal screen, and then set the phone down in that tent mode and it'll auto switch over :)
This is the phone I've been waiting for. The foldable phone scene has been really interesting to me, albeit it's still very young tech, and I've read tons of horror stories about what people have gone through with theirs. For me, the One+ just seems to shine, like they learned all the lessons from the other foldable phones' mistakes and made something better, more polished. I think my only disappointment is the lack of wireless charging. Maybe that seems stupid, given everything else this phone does, but I really appreciate just being able to put my current phone on its charging pad and walk away. No wires to mess with. Kind of seems like a step backward with the One+ Open, but perhaps that was an engineering choice. Maybe literally not enough room in the chassis? I don't have the money to just buy a bunch of different phones whenever I want, particularly given the crazy prices they're asking nowadays, so I've been researching and comparing the ones I'm really interested in: iPhone 15 Pro-Max, Samsung S23 Ultra (or S24 coming soon), and One+ Open. The iPhone is admittedly a little boring design wise, but it does what it does very well. It's stable, it has great inter-connectivity with other Apple products, and it's intuitive in some ways that Android just isn't. The last time I owned an iPhone, it literally FELT like it was worth the money I'd spent on it every time I used it. The design of my current Samsung S21 is pretty good, but in some ways it feels cheaper than the iPhone in terms of build quality and performance. It's the little things, like the speaker not being as clear during phone calls, and not automatically pairing with my vehicle via Bluetooth like the iPhone did. The S23 Ultra looks really attractive to me from a design perspective, and the performance looks great in the reviews I've seen, but at the end of the day it's not that much different than my S21. Maybe that's down to One UI or something. So, stepping away from those choices, the One+ looks remarkable. Obviously, it's in a different class being a foldable, but I like how different everything is with it. And it just looks like a really nice quality piece of tech, not just some cheap pile of parts with an overinflated price tag. And it's nice they're offering solid trades to bring people onboard. Really, really tempting phone.
Just bit the bullet and bought one. I was a bit sad because I passed on the Z Fold 5 (ended up getting the 15 Pro Max so I guess firsts world problems) but something told me to wait for the OnePlus. I’m not big on fast charging phones, honestly I rather a phone have good battery efficiency rather than having to charge but I’ve been interested in OnePlus for a few years. I gotta wait til the 20th of next month but… worth it hopefully. I think this will be the ultimate travel phone where I can put my iPhone aside for a trip, fire up my dual SIM OnePlus Open and have a phone and tablet right then and there.
Mine is delivered 16/11/2023, my very first foldable. Looking forward to owning it but have you read your notifications since owning yours. I am a S Galaxy lover so this very big for me
I'm thinking of picking this up as I'm fed up with my Fold 4 outer screen. But the lack of wireless charging is kinda worrisome. I'll need to change a lot of my setup.
It definitely sucks not having it, but not a deal breaker. You get used to it and all the upsides are totally worth it because they're sooooooooooo good.
This is the first foldable that I have actually purchased. Im trading my S23 ultra for it. With all of the positive reviews and the trade in incentives, I just can't pass it up. Here's hoping that I am not going to regret it.
I bought it when it went on sale for $1500.00, I couldn't help it. I love it so far but it's hard to find a Otterbox like case for it, feel like I gotta baby it more than a regular phone. Any recommendations on a case?
Great review, how does it compare to the Xiaomi Fold 3? Could you do a compare review please...? I currently have a Xiaomi mi 10T pro, looking to upgrade and have been waiting for a foldable to step up my multitasking game.
Which do you prefer the pixel fold or the 1plus open I used the note series all the way up to the pixel fold, sadly it doesn't work well with my android auto
Oh, man. There's a part in there that talks about the comparison with the Pixel fold. I'd say the Pixel fold looks like some dude hacked something together in his shed compared to the OP Open lol.
@@ThisIsTechToday when do u think Samsung will have a back display for Thier ultra phone? For me that's the next big leap. An Samsung ultra phone with a back display would be the perfect phone for me.
I just worry about customer service support. A lot to spend and not get assurances. Also, i heard there could be issues using a One+ phone on Verizon. Is that true???
Had a oneplus 8 pro for a few years now. For a while there I was ready to jump off the oneplus train. They were making some strange decisions on the software side of things. But that kind of started to turn around at the beginning of this year. To the point where I am fully enjoying my experience with my 8 pro again. Sadly, my 8 pro's battery just isn't what it used to be. I was weighing my options between replacing the battery or getting something new. My friend just got a fold 5 and was very happy with it which of course made me jealous. I decided to look at what oneplus was doing recently with new hardware, and there was the open. I pre-ordered mine after seeing many positive reviews like this one. Should be getting it tomorrow. I can't wait.
On OnePlus 8 Pro since it was fairly recent as well. Similar train of thought, different details. Battery is going strong for be still, it never used more than 30% on a normal day and never required to use a powerbank on the most active days. And it still is good enough to deliver that experience. This makes the only software gripe I have evon more annoying - at some point the powersaving got overzealous, preventing notifications of some apps as well as background activities such as track recording with the only workaround being to lock the app in the task switcher, with the number of apps that can be locked being limited to 5 only. And this is still the case. At that point I was convinced my next phone would be a Pixel. But then there are the little features one does not want to miss, like the alert slider or the few but useful extra settings over stock Andreid while still being quite stock and thus usable. And looking at the hardware of the Open vs. the Pixel Fold plus knowing the limit of lockable apps on the Open having increased to 8, OnePlus managed to make itself not only a viable option again, but the more attractive one.
Love your video! The unbias analysis made me a fan! What urks my soul about some bloggers and media about this phone compared to the oneplus open...umm...WE DO REMEMBER THAT THE PURPOSE OF THE OUTSIDE SCREEN ISN'T TO GIVE YOU A BIG SCREEN. IT DOES WHAT IT'S SUPPOSE TO AND WHEN YOU REALLY NEED TO MULTI-TASK AND ALL THAT JAZZ, YOU OPEN TO THE BIGGER SCREEN 🤦🤦♀️Who will buy a folding phone that they don't need to open? 🤔🤔🤔
Great, very fair review. I have considered grabbing one but some of the shortcomings give me pause. I love my Fold 5 (weird aspect ratio notwithstanding and oddly enough, enjoying it) and welcome this device. I really hope it lights a fire under Sammy's butt. Love OneUI and look forward to Fold 6. I have high hopes...
Thanks! I wouldn't anticipate a dramatic change or response to the Open until the Fold 7. There's at least an 18-24 month product development cycle for Samsung and 3 years for Google. So whatever we see on the Fold 6 was already in development before the Open came out. We'll see!
It would have been great if both screens are treated different.. For now acting as replica.. Also see limitations on customisation, atleast few could be allowed like accent color of quick settings, icon pack application is not as easy for not so popular or regional apps
Coming from the 8 Pro this will be a good upgrade, I won't receive mine before the 29th tho... Only two things that might be a bit annoying for me, is what seems like really flat sound and only splash resistance.. Except from that I'm all set!
Great review... I already purchased mine as another friend of mine showed me his and I fell in love at first site. :-) Can't wait to test all of the great features on my first foldable phone...
Can someone who actually uses this phone tell me something please. I like to use folding phones in flex mode like a mini laptop. Is this do-able on one plus open? I only ask because a lot of people say once you open it over 100° it just wants to spring open. The samsung folds hinge can hold position in nearly all angles
Excellent vid! I bought the Open and I'm really impressed! I'm debating on buying the extended warranty but not sure which one is the best one to buy. I also don't know how to send in my trade in for the $200 off. Any input would be appreciated!
Glad you're enjoying it. Figuring out support stuff and which one to go with is unfortunately the complicated factor that no one really has experience with, which is certainly not ideal. As for the $200 off, if they gave it to you at checkout and haven't asked you to send anything in, don't worry about it until they ask.
If i am in a market where both OnePlus and OPPO's new foldable is available, why should I go for one over the other? What separates what seems to be the same phone under different names
Depends on where you'll be residing the most. OnePlus is largely a US focus, Oppo is more global. Not much is different outside of branding and where you receive support.
In general, fold 5 has a better processor, camera, water resistant rating, and support. One Plus Open is def the right direction for their first foldable though
If i were to buy a foldable One plus is undoubtedly it! Im just super nervous to buy one from all the screen damaged reports ive seen for so many different reasons ...i dont know im on the fence....but i do absolutely love this phone
I honestly didn't notice much. There are some duplicate apps, but you can remove a lot of them. It's hardly as heavy handed as a Samsung Galaxy even when Unlocked.
A stacked sensor doesn't compensate for size. It improves image quality by reducing noise and improves readout speeds (the latter is particularly important for phone cameras which don't have physical shutters) but as the shutter size doesn't physically change, it can't replicate the advantages of a larger sensor. Dynamic range and depth of field will always be superior with a larger sensor regardless of whether its stacked or not.
It takes 18-24 months from start to finish for Samsung. They won't be able to respond in time to the Open, so anything they show on the 6 was already in development for months before the Open came out.
watching this on my oneplus open here in India. Switched from iPhone 14 pro...i really wish the selfie cameras could've been better everything else is really good.
I have a z fold 4 for the past yr+ also had the z fold 2 also. But not sure about this phone I always been samsung but it looks awesome it's very tempting I will say
tbh, the only review i care about now about OP Open is its PRODUCTIVITY against Fold 5, specifications can easily be read in seconds, so it's a month usage review to narrait its specifications!
huh? As I said, you can get a ton of stuff done with it. Multi-tasking is so powerful and intuitive. It just makes sense. Never felt that way about a galaxy Fold.
I already have the ZFold 5, so I'm not in the market for another foldable. I also love having pen support, and OnePlus does not have that. The wider front screen is a real plus, though. That narrow front panel of the Sansung is the only thing I dislike.
@@ThisIsTechToday Thank you for your honesty I'm a Google fan and usually never go the opposite direction but today I think I will. One plus here we come and thank you so much for videos and dedication to your craft. Keep up the amazing work
I was android user my whole life and went to iPhone 2 years ago and got the 13 pro max , really cool phone but I honestly I like android better , if I get the OnePlus would it be a good step from the 13 pro max ?? I think I’m gonna pull the trigger , this phone looks really awesome 😎
I feel that this would be a home run if they made the camera better. Honestly at that price point, the cameras should be out performing flagships. And they should just lower the price point in general by $100 minimum.
I at least prefer Oneplus speakers since they actually dont hurt your ears even at max volume. Iphone just has no separation and it is like modern loudness war where waveform is suppose to be fat and heavy without any dynamics. Oneplus at least sounds dynamic.
I wasn't sure what the attraction to a folding phone was until I got mine Friday. I'm still not the biggest fan of OxygenOS, I really do prefer OneUI, but I still love the OnePlus Open. I don't think I will be able to go back to a slab phone. As of now the only thing I don't really like is that power button finger print reader. I really wish it had an under screen scanner.
Exactly! This is why I say it's the first foldable I have enjoyed using. Once you use it everything clicks and you understand the hype and see how it isn't just hype, but the real thing.
@@onexlifeonly132 I generally don't prefer them because I use my phones with my non-dominant, left hand, but there's face unlock, so I don't care too much.
@@onexlifeonly132 yeah I know my opinion isn't universally shared but I've got so used to having a fingerprint scanner under the screen that I keep trying to touch my screen to unlock it 😭🤣
I prefer IDFPS as well and never cared for power button unlock since I use phones with my left hand, but face unlock fixes all of that for me as I prefer it over any fingerprint unlock, personally.
A couple steps backwards from the Z Fold5 so am not seeing the outrageous appeal from UA-camrs. Cameras not as good. It folds like the others. Has less IP rating. No wireless charging.
What, lmao. You're making some crazy stuff up. It makes the ZFold5 look like a joke. Try using it, leaving your bias behind, and actually comparing the quality. The Galaxy is generations behind. it's so bad in comparison.
It's the only foldable available here in India other than Samsung's, and I wanted to buy it. Then I hear news/rumour that Xiaomi is going to launch its mix fold 4 around May 2024 globally. Xiaomi and Vivo offer larger displays than any other foldables. So I am waiting for its announcement atleast and waiting is the hard part.
You will always chase what is new and to come until you make a choice. This has a holistic package that is great. Waiting for another device with one area that may be better in exchange for other things that may be worse is certainly up to you.
I took the z fold 5, I like this oneplus open but the communication from journalists paid to say good things about it.. plus the lies about durability (1 million fold lol, knowing that the char hinge is close to a fold 3, without the waterproofing and the difference is that it folds flat), ultimately everything else looks nice but there are lots of things I don't like for this price The screen is a z fold 3 screen with a matte overlay, the speakers are worse than a fold 5, clearly, no wireless charging (no reverse wireless charging which is a killer feature p for me) the photo part the fold does better except for the zoom... Honestly it looks like a flagship k a flagship with concessions to be cheaper than the z fold 5, except that it is 1600, the z fold can be found at 1400... This oneplus should have been sold at 1100 or 1200 for me, you pay the brand... I was able to have both, the Samsung is also more premium and solid but in reality the OnePlus is surely the 2nd best fold on the market despite my criticism, Huawei is not crazy, Vivo is it's stolen Huawei, Xiaomi is much cheaper, the Google pixel looks like a Galaxy fold from 2019 ☠️ in reality there are only these 2 foldable phones which are viable, but the But I imagine that there is the Apple effect, we will prefer OnePlus because it is OnePlus. I like the smartphone I don't like the brand... Samsung in fact I have had several products in the past it was ok, no lies, no weird stuff, unlike my Chinese smartphones
Journalists weren't paid to say good things about it. That's some weird conspiracy theory. The Samsung Galaxy Fold is definitely not more premium and solid compared to this. I suggest you actually try one out before you make assumptions.
Sorry, but is anyone noticing how overwhelmingly positive all these reviews are??? COME ON... Something seems suspicious here.. let's hear some more criticism.. I want the good and the bad
Maybe….maybe…it’s actually amazing. Do you seriously think OnePlus is so powerful that they could get hive mind of reviewers, including those that bought it with their own money, to shill for them if it sucked? The Conspiracy theory requires more mental gymnastics than seeing that it’s actually a great phone. Plus, I called out some reasonable criticisms and concerns. You just decided to not listen or acknowledge them. Listen better.
@@ThisIsTechToday no no I get that but I just would like to hear some more negativity lol like GregglesTV, the more he uses it the less he seems to like it and those are the kind of things I just want to hear about so I have a better idea.. @@kramdens1967 did you hear all my criticisms for it in the video? I had quite a few. I’m not going to make an entire video that is just trashing on it for the sake of it or only focusing on the bad and not the good. Come on. I’ve also had the device longer than him. Over a month.
@@ThisIsTechToday true. And thanks for the review, it was really good. I'm not trying to be negative. I guess I just like the trashing that way when I actually get it my expectations will be lowered and I'll like it even more lol.. thanks again!!
@@kramdens1967 There is a reason why GregglesTV is more critical. He has been a foldable user for a while unlike ThisIsTechToday and most of the reviewers who say this would be the best foldable. Most of them just review a foldable as if they would review a slab phone. You must use a foldable everyday as your main phone before you can review it as a foldable, otherwise you would not be aware of the specific use-cases and issues. Samsung has designed the entire Z Fold from the beginning based on the inner screen experience. OnePlus/Opp, and all others are just trying to please those who say the cover screen is the important one. GregglesTV even mentions that he feels more pressure on his hand compared to Z Fold 5.
I would almost choose it over Samsung. But I love how easy it is to use one handed. Never used the oneplus open so maybe it’s fine. The hardest part for me is the camera quality, and shutter lag. I hate that about most androids. Also I don’t like the camera module. It’s just way too big and ugly. Other than that, it’s the closest I have been by buying a foldable. For now I’m happy with the 15 pro max
I like the organic characteristics of the OnePlus for photos because that hardware is sooo insane and capable. For video, iPhone is still the best out there, especially with ProRes LOG. The quality of image you get out of that video is unreal.
@@fendykusumohadi it can do like, 100x but that’s getting into some wild digital crop which I like to call digital crap lmao. It has a native 3x and lossless 6x sensor crop and then it goes into digital crop. iPhone has native 3x or 5x depending on normal 15 or 15 pro but is a 12MP sensor so it does a digital crop anywhere past 5x. The OP has a 48MP tele sensor so it can go to 6x by cropping into the sensor and get to about 24MP and then 12X to get to 12MP where the iPhone is at before going to a digital crop.
If you just got your Pixel Fold, you have 15 days to return it for a full refund!! Send it back and get the One Plus Open. I received it two days ago, it's an outstanding device!! Adding here: I have always been a Pixel person since a Pixel 2 XL!!
When will @SAMSUNG understand that the outer display is unusable!!! Is to narrow, to tall and extremely annoying to type on. This foldable looks awesome, it has the perfect outer display ratio that you can type a quick text and you don't need to open your phone. I had the Fold4 and I traded it for the S23 Ultra in less than 6 months. Samsung is getting lazy on us, they were very innovative at first but with the foldables they just keep dropping the ball.
I disagree. I prefer the narrow screen but that's a preference. There is no right or wrong. A larger screen is not innovation. It's just a larger screen.
Have had mine for just around 36 hours and wow I love it. I like Pixels clean slate Android OS and extra pixel features but after checking out this guy is the Pixel Fold I can't turn back. Even if there are some pixel features I'll miss. Now if we could just get a strait answer on the Pen support 😵💫. A stylus is even indicated deep in settings.
It's really quite awesome! Some good fire under the butt of Samsung and Google. There IS pen support, but only on the Oppo stylus, which we don't have out here. x.com/MishaalRahman/status/1717750193242644887?s=20
Nah!… surely overly stated… obviously you missed or have not mentioned these why Samsung Fold 5 is much better. Secure Folder? Dex? Standard Stylus? And better camera.😊

Cheers
Software still not as polished as a Samsung phone
But there's alot of reviews saying that the camera quality isn't good. What is your experience with that? If you don't mind sharing :)
I was going to say “what more do you want?!” But I get it. It does have face unlock for what it’s worth and it works on financial apps.
Bro, I had my op8, working perfectly for 3.5 years as well, traded it in for the OP Open and I love it!!! Go for it🎉
Fun fact: the promos stack 👀
@@ThisIsTechToday As awesome as that would be, I'd double check that. The site specifically says "Get an exclusive 15% student discount or employee discount. *Coupons cannot be combined."
6:58 how does the software mix with a Samsung smartwatch?
I am considering trading my S22 ultra, the non-wireless charging is a hard option since I have a wireless charger on my nightstand no room or capacity to plug in overnight.
That’s what I’m wondering, I’m looking to trade in an S23 Ultra but if it means making my Galaxy Watch 6 Classic almost unusable then idk.
Same as any other android. You install the Galaxy wearable app and sync.
Yup. For the life of the phone being sold. $200+ off for any phone in any condition!
@@ThisIsTechToday I might have been unclear. There are no conditions to the $200 off. I have ordered a open from oneplus' website and emailed support about this. It's basically flat priced at $1500usd. You do not need to send anything to get the $200 'discount'
@@AnimByBmXu yes, I’m aware. Lol
I should have listened but hesitated because I wasnt sure if I was ready for a foldable yet, but I ordered one last week and am absolutely blown away with the experience. It is an amazing device and I am kind of bummed I missed out on their crazy deals at launch.
Ah, bummer. Yes, it’s truly an amazing device! I love using it.

@@ThisIsTechToday awesome, thanks a bunch for that.
Nice! I hope it works out for you, and if not, you find something that does. The travel use case is so good!
Mine is delivered 16/11/2023, my very first foldable. Looking forward to owning it but have you read your notifications since owning yours.
I am a S Galaxy lover so this very big for me
Hope you have fun with it!
I got the same feeling as the Fold 3. When it was a new experience. I wanted to try the Chinese models but just was not possible to get your hands on.
Honestly, we are severely missing out in the US. The phones coming out of China are many generations ahead.
Hope it works out for ya! I love using it!
Hows the camera compared to the 23 ultra?
I bought it when it went on sale for $1500.00, I couldn't help it. I love it so far but it's hard to find a Otterbox like case for it, feel like I gotta baby it more than a regular phone. Any recommendations on a case?

Great content man. Noticed you took the time to reply to most comments, respect and subscribed

Thanks!
Hopefully, they can make a software update that would resolve some of those preferences.
Coming from the 8 Pro this will be a good upgrade, I won't receive mine before the 29th tho...
Only two things that might be a bit annoying for me, is what seems like really flat sound and only splash resistance.. Except from that I'm all set!

Can someone who actually uses this phone tell me something please. I like to use folding phones in flex mode like a mini laptop. Is this do-able on one plus open? I only ask because a lot of people say once you open it over 100° it just wants to spring open. The samsung folds hinge can hold position in nearly all angles

2:36 this offer is only available in North America
Ironically, I’m American and based in America. How crazy.
For the processor, the only thing different is a higher clock speed. It’s the same processor with a new label slapped on it.
If i were to buy a foldable One plus is undoubtedly it! Im just super nervous to buy one from all the screen damaged reports ive seen for so many different reasons ...i dont know im on the fence....but i do absolutely love this phone
Samsung and the pixel have had more screen issues on launch than this. I wouldn’t worry about it
How is the bloatware? Thank you! Great job man!
Ordered mine, coming on the 22nd, upgrading from my Oneplus 9 Pro, which i still love
Nice!!
If Samsung doesn't give us an complete design change for the fold 6 then I'll finally "jump ship" and this is definitely one to consider👍🏾

I feel that this would be a home run if they made the camera better. Honestly at that price point, the cameras should be out performing flagships. And they should just lower the price point in general by $100 minimum.
What makes the cameras not good?
I at least prefer Oneplus speakers since they actually dont hurt your ears even at max volume. Iphone just has no separation and it is like modern loudness war where waveform is suppose to be fat and heavy without any dynamics. Oneplus at least sounds dynamic.

What, lmao. You're making some crazy stuff up. It makes the ZFold5 look like a joke. Try using it, leaving your bias behind, and actually comparing the quality. The Galaxy is generations behind. it's so bad in comparison.
Would you get this for £1249 or V3 for £1399?
Very good review. I am convinced that this will be my next phone or maybe the next version.
Seriously, it legit lives up to the hype. It's not a lie one bit. It's truly a great phone.

I have a pixel 8 and a z fold 5 but I definitely want this one too lol... Life of a phone addict :)
The camera module is what makes it so easy to use one handed 😛
My 15 Pro Max obviously holds my iPhone slot.
@@ThisIsTechToday but it’s kind ugly. And I think it’s not a good location if you have big hands 😂 Really wanna try it to make sure I’m right though
@@DjangoGroen that’s subjective. I like the way it looks.
@@ThisIsTechToday yeah true.
Why all smartphone's cameras are getting bigger and bigger 😢 It's really uncomfy
Because physics. Larger sensors and larger apertures require more size and results in significantly better quality.
Versus iphone 15 pro max?
I like the organic characteristics of the OnePlus for photos because that hardware is sooo insane and capable.
For video, iPhone is still the best out there, especially with ProRes LOG. The quality of image you get out of that video is unreal.
@@ThisIsTechToday How much the maximum zoom for 4K60 OnePlus? Is it can 15 times like iPhone 15 pro max in 4k 60 ? Thanks for the information
@@ThisIsTechToday waow very very impressive OnePlus. Thanks lot for the information. I think I'll try OnePlus open than iPhone 15 pro max.
I grabbed a shot of the moon but only after dialing down the iso in pro mode.
Nice!
God fiiiiiiinally the return of the IR blaster. I'll be buying this phone legit just for that alone
who you trollin' with it? 🤣
Nice bro❤❤❤
Thanks 🔥
Damn I just got the pixel fold, I can't justify that
Ngl, sell it and get a real foldable. This foldable makes all the other foldables in the US look so outrageously bad, it's uncomfortable. lol
💯 agreed.
@@ThisIsTechTodayunfortunately I can't even see how that would go yet there is no trade in option for the pixel fold
@@thomasansley539 sell it. Don't trade it in. Trade in a dumpy old phone and you'll get at least $200.
If you just got your Pixel Fold, you have 15 days to return it for a full refund!! Send it back and get the One Plus Open. I received it two days ago, it's an outstanding device!! I sent back a Pixel Fold a month ago. Night and day. Pixel Fold looks already 2 generations old compared to the One Plus Open..when they are actually only a month apart!! Adding here: I have always been a Pixel person since a Pixel 2 XL!!
Best foldable hardware on the market 👀
EZ!
very attractive phone ! thing is, I drop them a lot !
I don't think this gonna last with me for long 🙄
I literally shared that I dropped mine. Ben’s gadget review dropped his on concrete while riding a bike at fast speeds. It was fine. lol. Get a case.
I am hearing nothing but positive things about this device!
It legitimately lives up to the hype, that's why. That's quite rare.
I do hope they change things up a bit. Feels a bit stale right now.
An individual on Reddit posted a video showing it does have pen support
It's really quite awesome! Some good fire under the butt of Samsung and Google.
There IS pen support, but only on the Oppo stylus, which we don't have out here. x.com/MishaalRahman/status/1717750193242644887?s=20
Awesome
In india one plus fold 512gb Rs 40000/- cheaper than 15 pm 512gb. Ridiculous man.
I'll take your word for it. Don't know anything about RS.
When gsmarena rated speaker as average...howcome everyone is praising it...
You can listen to the sample yourself and come up with your own conclusions. I said the iPhone sounds better.
Can you please do a Drop Test , you will win allot of fans
No.

Nah!… surely overly stated… obviously you missed or have not mentioned these why Samsung Fold 5 is much better. Secure Folder? Dex? Standard Stylus? And better camera.😊
Hardly.
