damn dude. I spearfish Hawaiian waters and we have some problems with sharks but it's usually tolerable unless you are spearfishing off shore which people do less of, nothing like these fast bulls and lemons. respect

Happy new year!!! Dan I've been checking out your videos here lately. I was wondering if you can go over what type of air mixture you use. when you dive and what type of gear you use. what type of computer more that type of content
The gun he made using an old Sea Hornet design but with better parts and tighter tolerances . Then he added some things to make his job easier . He uses only Rob Allen shafts done to a pencil point with curved floppers and prefers to use a 7.5mm ( .027 ) shaft 60" long . He prefers to shoot free shaft but will use a slip-on Powerhead on bigger fish in deeper water , and for protection . The Powerhead lets out an explosive burst of energy that will kill the fish faster and his are loaded with a Russian military round ( 7.62x54R ) so they still work real well in deeper water .
I'm curious as to why you don't wear a shark shield? I know they're not made for the deep stuff you do but in the middle grounds they'd work. I resisted wearing one for years, made fun of my buddies for wearing them, I consider it a necessity these days.
This is his job , and he is just letting us see how he does it . He gathers certain types and sizes under Commercial guidelines , and EVERYTHING must be sold to a fish market supplier . That place sells mostly to higher-end restaurants so there will be a choice of FRESH FISH on the menu when you show up for dinner . People using snorkels to spearfish do not go 100 miles off-shore to find their fish .
