Happy New Year. May this 2022 brings blessings from above to you and your family. Thanks Dan for this videos they are the one thing I look for every day. Thanks again and God Bless.
Gutes neues Jahr wünsche ich dir und für deine Familie zuerst Dan🤗. Schon wieder schöne Fishing und natürlich schöne große Fische. Bravo 👏👏👏 Du bist der beste Harpune Taucher 🤙🤙👌
Good shootin Dan. You make it look easy! Like shootin fish in a barrel. With several hundred bounce dive in the Northern Gulf, I know it’s not. Great dive, great spot.
You would need to follow him to his Supplier to get one of those as he is required to sell EVERYTHING he gathers . Even he must buy one back if he wants something for personal use .
15 feet is stretching it , and 10 or less is preferred . Must be even closer if using a Powerhead , and a Powerhead must hit DEAD AT THE FISH . No glancing shots will work with a Powerhead as it pushes the meat inwards slightly but not enough BANG SPLAT of a hit to make it go off , and yet the spear tip is still pushing forward so it ruins the Powerhead when it bounces off the fish from a slant hit . He has his spear tips made with a pencil point so they will normally still make it through the scales and into the fish at 15 feet .
Hey Dan you guys kick butt I never miss your videos. That playground you guys have is banging I just wanted to no what you think the best fish is too eat out of all the ones you shoot . I been in the keys and I think mouton and hog fish are better than the gag I would like to know your favorite one's . 🐟
He has said before that he really likes the Scamp , but he is mostly after Gags 1st and then whatever he still has time to get . On the dives over 150 feet deep he only has about 3-4 minutes MAX bottom time , or he will need to take more decompression stops on the way back up .
Yes , and he makes his own Powerheads . He has a local machine shop make the empty casings for him , and then he adds the rest including a 7.62x54R rifle cartridge for the bang . That cartridge still works fine when he has a deeper dive .
He uses a Powerhead to cause that extra needed damage for a quick clean kill . His are loaded with a 7.62x54R rifle cartridge which will still work fine on his deeper dives .
I really wish you would take just an extra minute or two when you get done with your Dives and do some explanations I love your videos thank you very much
@@jimmyhoneycutt1 Yes , the 7.62x54R rifle cartridge is a rimmed cartridge so it is easier to make a blank for the casings to fit into . The larger cartridge can be purchased in military ammo that has sealed bullets and sealed primers also so no worries about water ruining your cartridge .
@@daveobsoleteammo4547 geez man, that's interesting but as a skilled firearms enthusiast and veteran, it surprised me that it was a rifle cartridge. I know nothing about diving, so I guess I ASSUMED it was in the .38-.357 range. Thanks for the info!
@@jimmyhoneycutt1 The .38 Special and the .357 Magnum have small primers . That makes it harder for a bang stick to work properly . The deeper you go down to fish the more pressure of the water , and by using a large primer rifle cartridge you can be sure there will be plenty of explosive pressure coming out to make your kill on the fish easier . You could also make Powerheads using a 45 Auto cartridge with the large primer but the normal speed of a 45 Auto is around 850fps , and the rifle cartridge will be above 2500fps ( so more explosive power ) . The .38 and .357 would be better used by snorkel users who stay above 100 feet down .
Dude super sad to be honest, spearfishing cant be combined with scuba. It makes it to easy, not even legal in most countries, you might aswell carry waterproof guns next time. Not hating, just pointing out. True dudes wouldn't use scuba
Yeah, have to say the same. I am an avid spearo and spearing makes a massive impact on fish populations. We aren’t even allowed guns, only pole-spears. You can still see a difference where access is easy. Hate to think of all the jackasses who are now running out to ruin the local scuba diving spots. One breath, one fish
He is not doing this for his use , or for sport . He gathers fish for others to eat , and this is his job . It is nice of him to take us along so we can see how he does that job .
The AJ's have to be at least 3 feet long to be legal for Commercial fishermen . The fish that are speared taste much better than those thrashing around on a fishing line before they finally get to the surface . Those caught with hook and line fill up with Lactic acid from their lashing about trying to shake the hook .
The one AJ got a hall pass! In a previous video you commented that one place has been "sharky" in the past. And it was that day! Do you have any thoughts what makes one area sharks and another not so much?
Happy New Year. May this 2022 brings blessings from above to you and your family. Thanks Dan for this videos they are the one thing I look for every day. Thanks again and God Bless.
I was glad to see you picking up the empty casings. Thank you for caring.
Incredible.. this one is by far in your top 3 videos for sure man. There's a reason you're known as the best there is. This proves it.

Happy New Year Dan!🤙

I got a CO2 headache just watching . That was a lot of loading, swimming and blowing no bubbles! Super efficient too.
looks like the AJ"s were asking for it.
That’s what you call doing work! Great job man.
Happy new year 2022 MC
I hope one day to be with you on a diving trip. I love and master diving, can you take me with you
Dan, Can you please do a video showing how you make your power heads.
You did some work on the AJ’s!
Happy new year take Sony as 50 the best action camera....
Nice heavy stringer !!
Some fish don't spook at all with the PH, do they make your ears ring?
Epic video, HUGE!! thanks for sharing.
Dan, how do you feel about the closure of gags throughout 2022!?? Gonna be tuff year not shooting em!
This crew shot up some shit!! Fish shoulda just jumped in the boat cause wasnt safe in water! Amazing video
amigo a que profundidad estabas gracias
👍
so you knew after seeing that one AJ that once you hit the grouper the whole school would come over to you?! Brilliant
How far out are the middle grounds from st pete
Nice video as always. Dan, in normal conditions, what is the recommended and the longest distance to shot a fish with your speargun?

👍👍💯
why isn't it shown how many fish you get when it's on the top
His later videos do show some deck footage , and originally he had never planned to put anything on UA-cam .
Sick vid. Is that. A power head and what size ?
Yes , and he makes his own Powerheads . He has a local machine shop make the empty casings for him , and then he adds the rest including a 7.62x54R rifle cartridge for the bang . That cartridge still works fine when he has a deeper dive .
Hi Dan, are you guys breathing Heliox or Trimix on your deeper 240+ dives?
Hammered them! Looked like fun!
What did you use for the AJ in the tip of the spear, and explosive head?
He uses a Powerhead to cause that extra needed damage for a quick clean kill . His are loaded with a 7.62x54R rifle cartridge which will still work fine on his deeper dives .
Meaty drop
😀👍
Can you give me speargun?

I'm no diver....... what is the ph loaded with?
He makes his own , and he uses a 7.62x54R rifle cartridge for the bang .
