Honestly I just like how Japan knows there is a lot of lonely ppl or ppl who like alone time like myself and they have awesome places like this. Stuff like this would 100% help me get out the house and to socialize even if just a little because I would feel ok to be by myself all the time for once.
Most of these single-diner places are for people who want to eat by themselves in peace, they are not meant to socialize and this is actively discouraged to do, if you want to socialize a izakaya would be a better place to go.
I lived in Japan for 16 years, the entire time having the same neighbor who I would see daily walking to wherever it is she worked, I don't know where that is, because other than a hello, she spoke not one single word to me in 16 years. It's an entirely different culture, you don't go out to eat with anyone but family for the most part, and you never, ever, go to other people's homes.
¥4380 is $27.75 USD, Jimmy. That's not a bad price for all-you-can-eat buffet. 🇺🇸🤝🇰🇷BTW, I just had Korean BBQ for the 1st time on Saturday July 6, 2024. It was delicious. I also had Soju for the 1st time too. The restaurant is named "K-Pot."
@@jimmykimtv I did, brother. I ordered marinated pork belly, sirloin, beef tongue, garlic, shiitake mushrooms, onion, and lettuce. They didn't have Perilla Leaf, and of course, I included a ton of cabbage kimchi.
I am planning a solo trip so this was a good, balanced and honest review. I hate wasting calories on mediocre food so this really helped with being selective.
Jimmy, I'm a fairly new subscriber (just got here last week lmao) that's already been hooked by your narration style, thoughtful musings and humor, but today's video illuminated another aspect of your videos that's very personal for me. Anytime you close out with "goodbye my friends", I think of my late grandma who always referred to people as "my friend", even if they were a stranger. She's been gone for 14 years now, but I'm missing her reassuring words these days more than ever since this dumpster fire planet continues hurtling towards oblivion. Anytime I hear that closing in one of your videos I smile because I think of her. I know it may be a minor thing for most but for me it means so much. Can't wait to see what else you have in store for us! 🤗
As an American, I learn from Japan that I love dipping my meat in egg, mainly just egg yolk but if I can't separate the white from the yolk ill just dip it in both.
I like that more places are catering to Solo diners. I feel like they do that well in Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. I wish it we would have places like that pop up in the States.
Considering I paid $26 USD for a boring chain buffet in Colorado the last time I went to one, and they didn't have nearly as good food and a cramped dining room, this was a great deal for the experience.
Egg is for dipping your meat is a kind of japanese graving like oyako don😊 i also like single booths, in osaka nabe seafood pot. In kyoto mountain food so fresh. Like nara okonomiyaki booth with tepan grill😊
Private buffet equals awesome! Live in Northern Virginia where there is a huge Korean population. Lots of Korean BBQ and hot pot, but nothing set up like the restaurant you visited. Jealous! All the best!
Oh wow this is the second time in a month that I've randomly come across a badger badger mushroom reference, after not having seen it in maybe a decade or more! And the restaurant looks interesting too, definitely putting it on my list of places to check out on my future trip to Japan.
First video watching.. I’m a fan. You remind me of my kyodai Yuta. He was in school in Hawaii and after graduating University of Hawaii (Go Bows!) he went back home to Japan. Miss that buddy of mine. Great Video! Keep Eating and Keep Traveling! 🤙
Thanks for the suggestion! Although you doing it all wrong! The thinner the meat the higher the fire should be!!! need to get that caramelization on the meat! But lovely video. Certainly on my to-do list when I go Japan!
Id be absolutely thrilled if this was implemented in my area if the US. I live a fairly solitary life, and always feel akward taking an entire table or booth when eating alone.
Japanese love their raw egg, its to mix the meat and or rice with, it seems odd to me as well, but they say they have good quality raw eggs so it seems fine, uncooked :)
Hey Jimmy! When are you going to make a trip to Singapore? If I remember correctly, you had a friend visit you from there. Be nice to see her again as well as see the city and their different foods!
hello jim, thank you for this review. the hot bibimbap in the black bowl taste real more fun at nobu iby the iron chef. seared the salmon on the side. elle for jigae
Hey Jimmy! If you're still in Japan I really want to see you review the food at one of those yatai stalls. I wanna hear your opinion on how good the food and the vibes.
When the tray comes how does it go away? Is there like a time limit for how long you’re allowed to have it for before it goes away on its own or do you press a button?
Oh, it was a little noisy compared to other restaurants in Japan for sure. Lots of beeping noises from other people's tables, and the kitchen door was also right behind me. It wasn't noisy enough to bother me! Probably similar to other all you can eat places.
God look at that jaw on Jimmy. If i met him in person I'd have to decide if I hate'em, or I want him to be my friend....... I've decided. I like Jimmy, subscribed.
Although some of the items may be beyond help. it looks like there's plenty of options there to enhance your meal. rather than settle for mediocre, you should add some more of the grilled meats to your order and maybe grab some more sides from the salad bar to add enhancements to those lacking dishes, like the ramen and bibimbap maybe even the "naengmyeon" (naeng-soba? mizu hyashi soba? mul naengmyeon zaru soba? i don't know, Korean mul naengmyeon style cold noodles using Japanese soba as the the noodle seems like it should be a thing... especially in Japan, where they often adapt foreign dishes to suit Japanese tastes and/or ingredients; like the institution of ramen and, in this restaurant's, juksun kimchi... menma kimuchi?).

@@OjoRojo40 No, this is actually healthy & refreshing. Ever heard of "me time"?
No need to apologize for your honesty, its what makes your channel great, no fake hype.
Haha I was very satisfied overall! Definitely wouldn't get some of the side dishes again though 😅
it's a refreshing change compared to a certain food channel on youtube with every item he eats being the most amazing thing on earth.

Yeah it was reasonably priced for what it is! And I hope you enjoyed your first KBBQ!
here in brazil "All-you-can-eat buffet" is 10$
You cannot convert other countries price it depends also on how much ppl earn

Aha I have a K-pot that opened in my area recently as well
Where I live in America, AYCE kbbq is usually minimum $35, to upwards of $60

Ooh this looks so fun, and since it's meant for dining alone no one has to be embarrassed to come alone. The meat looked pretty decent as well.
"I think they can run a scam call center at night here" 🤣🤣
How do you come up whit that sh*t 😄
Love that random humor.

Man, when best friend Uncle Jimmy uploads a video you know it's gonna be a good day.
‘That sounds horrible! Let me get one of that’
Story of my life 😂

You will never feel awkward eating alone in JPN. The country accommodates solo diners very well.
Cool, we could use something like this in Graz.
Some nice private solo dining, lovely!
Thanks for another great video Uncle Jimmy!

Good review
Would I recommend this Sushi to anyone? NOO
Love from new zealand ❤
Uncle Jimmy! Where did you get your shirts from and that black bag? 😮
Jimmy, can you do this whole experience without talking to anyone? Can everything be done through the tablet?
When the tray comes how does it go away? Is there like a time limit for how long you’re allowed to have it for before it goes away on its own or do you press a button?
You forgot the taiyaki and marshmellow, Jimmy 😔
From one terminally online person to another, absolutely hilarious
Aye its our Best friend Jimmy
The food might of not been great but the most impressive part of the video was the amount of food he ate
It seemed a bit noisy at your cubicle. Was that kitchen noise? Or from the other diners in the restaurant?

Dude. Have some authentic Texas style bbq with some collard greens and mashed potatoes. With maybe a side of fried okra. Then get back to me.

Missed opportunity to have grilled marshmallows with your Kimchi 😂
Having solo dinners knbq buffets like this is cool i would feel awkward foing to regular one sitting alone eating 😂
Tasty. Yum yum yummy.

What is that sauce called? 🙏
