the best explanatory video you can find on youtube!!! Finally someone who explains it down to the smallest detail and especially on the most important things like e.g. the dimensions, the distances, how to measure it exactly, etc. I think it's absolutely great! Thanks for that. I'll definitely leave a like and a subscription there.
So glad you found it helpful.
@@bentswoodworking you can't even imagine how many videos I've watched on youtube on this topic, but nobody, absolutely NO ONE has gone into as many important details as you have!! everyone shows how to install the drawer slides in the body and then puts the finished drawer in, my grandma can do that too😊😂especially the distances, how you have to measure them, what dimensions are important and you have to pay attention to them, etc. are you explained and showed the most important thing excellently and your videos are great. Thanks a lot for this.
Sorry for my english 🙈😊
Greetings from Germany!!😊
Agree...so many videos where you are left with all the essential questions.!
@@selcukbugan3769i
To locate the position of the locating pins in the rear of the slide, just install the drawer and lightly slams it a few times and the pins will leave an interference mark. Then drill your hole. No need for an expensive jig.
Good, comprehensive instructional video, Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
I decided to build a keyboard shelf underneath a standing desk that I made. Found the two drawers with the Blum sliders already installed at Habbitat and searched all over UA-cam to find out how to install them. Much appreciated, sir.
This is the best instructional video on UA-cam. You will understand if you have looked at Blum's instructions for glides or hinges. Blum should leverage this video.
This is perfect. Thank you for the calm and easy explanation. In a few weeks I'm going to build myself a new at-home office desk, and these slides will help me to up my game a bit in the drawer department.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this video! After hours trying to decipher what Blum calls “instructions” I ran across your logical explanation of how to measure, cut and install these drawer glides.
Glad it helped!
Thank you Jason. This is exactly what I am trying to do and your video is giving me the confidence to actually do it.
Go for it!
This is really an incredible guide. The instructions look so intimidating. I appreciate you “distilling” them
Glad you found it helpful!
I think a majority of the views of this video are me rewatching it every time I need to install these slides. Thank you.
I started to use these drawer slides from Blum in 2006 when building my kitchen. I have never looked back.
Bent, you’re one of the best instructors out there. I’ve watched many others on UA-cam and like many of them but your voice and pacing work real well for me, thanks.
Appreciate that
I completely agree!!!!!
Thank you so much for making this extremely thorough video - it helped me a ton!
Glad it was helpful!
You are a natural teacher. Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!!
Great video. Wish this was available when I did my kitchen 15 years ago.
It looks complicated with all the options shown in the book, but once you do one it's really easy.
Glad it was helpful!
Great job! Between this video and the Jason Hibbs (Bourbon Moth) Cabinet Making video tutorial, I'm pretty confident. Thank you!
This is a great video not only for the specific Blum slide but for other under drawer slides, they are all generally the same. Great Video sir!
Glad you enjoyed it
There is only one thing that I want to say: Thank you, this was one the most clear demonstration video about this drawers slides !
Great video, very professional and accurate. Can't thank you enough for taking the time to do this and share your knowledge - you have a natural talent for this, my friend.
I intend to use Blum undermounts on joinery I'm going to make soon, but because I'm making my life difficult by having draws with "random" widths, I'll create a spread sheet to auto calculate the cut dimensions. Laziness is a virtue and I work hard at it!
Thanks for the very easy to follow demonstration! I'm getting ready to build and install drawers in a cabinet box, I only had to look at one video to learn how to install the Blum drawer slides. This video made me start following your channel.
THIS. IS. EXACTLY. THE. KIND. OF. VIDEO. THAT. I. WAS. LOOKING. FOR. Genius!!!!
Glad you found it helpful
Opening minutes 1 5/8 is what I've always used for the front and back and it works great!
Easier than 1 21/32 for sure. Lol
Right! That 32nd of an inch really makes no difference.
I've used a variety of drawer slides with absolutely zero information and guessed or searched the process on how to do it. Your detailed explanations far exceed what the manufactures put out.
I'm going to be switching over to this product now because of your masterful approach.
Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely brilliantly clear, thankyou so much to the best teacher in the world!
Wow, thank you!
I cannot stress enough how superior your videos are compared to others. You have truly found your post retirement calling. Thank you so much.
Thank you. I retired in May and this is all I do now.
The most crystal clear explanation out there. So good, I subscribed.
I always liked the idea of using under-mount drawer slides but it always seem so confusing. Thank you for showing that it is not that difficult of course, but it doesn't lower the price.😊
Glad it was helpful!
Very clear explanation; one of the best instructional videos I have seen on UA-cam (and like many of us, I have seen quite a few...). Well done.
Glad it was helpful!
I owe you, Jason. Your expertise led me to the right tools and setup to get my designed coffee table with a drawer off to a great start, and now proceeding to a great finish. One caveat: my 5 mm self-centering bit is bent (out of the box) so putting in the drawer slides took extra care. Thanks so much!
Great video. Easy to follow and makes lots of sense. These Blum undermount soft close slides are so smooth and require very little opening force to overcome the soft close feature (damping force). It's what everyone is asking for these days. Thanks!
Thanks for this Jason. Just finished my first Blum project and love those slides. Your video was a huge help.
So glad to hear that.
I work with industrial furniture/appliances and I have to say this is the clearest explainer video for any piece of equipment requiring assembly I’ve ever seen . Great job 👏
Hey Bent: thanks for your video. I was able to use the Blum slides I ordered, with help from your video. thanks, steve
Terrific rundown Jason! You are a natural instructor. Much appreciated.
Glad you found it helpful
Hello Bent! This was a great instructional video. Thank you for taking the time to help us do-it-yourselfers! Getting ready to install 6 drawers and your instruction was perfect. Thank you. Christina
Glad you found it helpful
Fantastic video. Thanks for taking the time to create this. As a DIYer this sure saved my a lot of time and aggravation. A picture (video) is certainly worth more than a thousand words!
Great video Jason. Very informative. The extra detail that you give makes all of the difference to those of us that don't have the experience.
I’m glad to hear that you found it helpful
Oh wow. Thank God you use MM too!!
Wow! The first time I've seen a video with metric measurements being used or mentioned. Thank you.
You’re welcome
Fantastic video, Jason! So I bought the 563H slides at the beginning of February and overthought them forever. I read and re-read the installation instructions. I’m so pumped that I knew every single thing you talked about. I’m a much more hands on learner and so once I just got started, it was easier to conceptualize. I did the dry fit in my cabinet as well before assembling the drawer boxes. Great job on this video. I’m sure it will help tons.
I’m so glad that you enjoyed it!!
I have to say, yours is the best one I have seen. Shaun Boyd and Jon Peters have pretty good videos too, but honestly I tip the reference video title to you. Thank you for making it.
You’re welcome
Thank you so much for doing this video. I too was a little intimidated by these drawer slides but your video makes it look much easier than side mount, especially when it comes to actually installing the drawer. Matching up the slides on each side with side mounts is a real pain. This is definitely the best video I’ve found explaining this process. Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
One of the best channels on UA-cam. Thanks, Jason!
Wow, thanks!
Very informative and well organized! Thanks for the time you spent making and posting this video!
Glad you found it helpful
I go back to your video’s over and over just to review and pick up what I missed the last time. You talk about subjects I need to know about and you do it logically and slow enough that I understand your message. (Most of the time, my error not yours.). Unfortunately I can only like it once but I’ve watched then many times. Thanks for putting this content out here. I really appreciate it. And, Thanks for your Service.
I’m so glad to hear that you are finding value in the videos
What a great tutorial. I got a built in job and I’m trying these out for the first time. I really stepped in it this time. That’s a lot to keep track of compared to conventional tracks. Well, that’s my fault for not researching things before I offer them. Nothing else to do but follow through. I took a lot of notes am I’m super happy I found this video to clarify things as I go.
Thank you so much! This was very informative and really helped in understanding the mechanism, how to install and how to troubleshoot.
I use the university of youtube often and you sir, are excellent at this. Thank you! some van cabinet stuff would be really popular i bet.
Glad you found it helpful
Thank you, thank you!! I have needed this training! Great details and visual. Also appreciate all the subtle jabs at the trolls..
Outstanding video, very helpful! Thank you!
I see another Festool Junkie like myself! Thanks for the best instruction I've found for these slides. I've used side mounts on projects until now, but was intrigued with these, so decided to use them first on a nightstand I'm building for myself first. Thanks for the very clear examples and explanations!
Great video. This is the second time I have watched as I have been thinking seriously about undermount versus side mount. I make my drawer boxes with dovetails and I know that I'll have to make some adjustments as a result, but nothing serious. Thanks again.
This was incredibly helpful and informative. Thanks so much for making this!
You’re very welcome
Thank you! I will be installing these this weekend based on your instructions. Great job explaining.
Glad you found it helpful
Very helpful. Your clear video will make the next time I do undermount slides so much easier. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful
I loved this video, extremely informative
Glad it was helpful!
Jason, thanks. Great video. This is now my new "try" thing.
Thank you for this one! I've learned the hard way on this.
And a 5/5 star for including measurements in mm aswell. So from all of Europe thank you 🙏
Great, simple and clear instructions. Thanks
I would also love to see a video on Euro style hinges, placement, tools used.
Full overlay hinges!!
This was a great video!!!
I have full cabinet series videos planned for this year and that will be part of it 👍
That was without a doubt the MOST DETAILED under mount Blum video,,,you really delivered on that !! The explanation on details was the best! Thank you sir.
Glad you enjoyed it
Awesome Jason great help i am so glad i found you and your chanel
Welcome aboard!
Great video! I have never installed drawer slides, but the Blum look very nice, and pretty straightforward after watching the steps you ran thru.
Glad you found it helpful
Dude! Great video first off. I love the fact that you must have been hammered along the way with people hitting you with crazy questions and comments. I can tell you were trying to cut them off ahead of time. Hope it worked. Definitely didn’t try to read all the comments. Thanks again for a great, informative video!
Glad you found it helpful
Your video was perfect timing for me. I’m working on a desk and I’m using Blum slides for the first time. Thanks great info.
You’re very welcome
Great video! Don't forget about the side-to-side adjustment wheel below the hook on the back of the right runner. This allows the rear of the drawer to be adjusted in the same direction as the front so the drawer runs parallel in the opening.
Also, if you're having front locking device engagement issues (i.e. the drawer isn't "clicking in" like it should), check your material thickness. Most 1/2" plywood is actually 12mm and this causes your runner to "stretch" further than it was designed. The quick fix for this is to make your box 1/8" shorter than the standard runner length (20-7/8" for a 21" runner) or add an 1/8" spacer between your locking devices and drawer sub-front.
Your video helped me install my Blum slides on a new vanity I am building. Thank you!
You’re welcome
Simplified and Brilliantly explained. As mentioned, best UA-cam video out there to demystify the installation process. Saving this into by favourites. Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you so much between your video and building a test drawer, I now understand this drawer glide system very well. Your video was amazing and a giant help!
You are welcome!
I can’t tell you how hard I’ve looked for a comprehensive way of installing these drawer slides over the past three weeks your timing couldn’t have been better thank you Jason
I spent a lot of time too and could never find one that explained it in detail. I hope you found it helpful!
@@bentswoodworking YES!!! Thanks for all your research and efforts!
Beyond helpful! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
You’re very welcome!
First of all. How refreshing that you use the metric system. I know a lot of people in the trade that refuse to watch anyone that uses the imperial system 😂
You'd be surprised how much your following increases/decreases because of it.
I also want to thank you for just being "NORMAL" and not trying to be funny or act like a dummy too. I'm not sure why these people need to be extra. Probably their wives tell them they are funny, when they are just painful to watch.
Even some UK woodworkers are a nightmare, so not exclusive to Americans.
Thank you! You are my go to, number one American woodwork genius ‼️☝️
This video is very useful and your effort in making it, appreciated. Although I studied the Blum documentation, this video put everything into context and made planning and ordering easier. The only thing I couldn't work out is if the slides will work with 18mm drawer sides. This is what all the main panels of the wardrobe are cut from.
Thank you. Next kitchen will use Blum undermount slides.
Glad you found it helpful
Well laid out instructions with solid visuals , easy to understand . Appreciate the info .
Glad you enjoyed it
This is an excellent explanation of how to assemble my drawers and most importantly how to install the Blum under undermount slides. Thank you so much!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Outstanding video, Keep up the good work.
I use these and also love them. Now I've been using them for a couple of years. I made mistakes , but
Learned from them. Great tutorial. Looks like you may have stock invested in festool lol.
Glad you enjoyed it
Just bought Blum, struggling how to install, thank you for your “help “!
Thanks for the tip to turn the cabinet on its side when installing slide fasteners. I can’t believe I never thought to do that. 🤔
Works great! A lot less headaches
Wish I could turn the house on its side to install the upper cabinets 😂
The cabinets get mad when you do that though
Thanks buddy… I’m a very visual person and with your help I feel more than confident to build and install my drawers!!! Thank you again!!!
Glad you found it helpful
Great video - for the first 15 minutes of your video I was like "ohhh hell nooooo" - until you got to the box install and then it all "clicked" for me, ha get it? The adjustments are super helpful and you explained those really well. Thank you for your videos, you do a great job with your level of detail without laboring the points. Nice job. Cheers from Wisconsin.
Awesome video. I have installed a lot of side mount, was just getting ready to do my first undermount. This video was a perfect overview. Thanks.
Glad you found it helpful
Literally a perfect explanation video. Thank you
Killer breakdown dude!
Thanks brother, I appreciate it!!
Jason, thanks for demystifying the installation of the Blum undermount drawer slides. I have been hesitant to try these because Blum's literature on installing them isn't all that clear, so I thought they'd be really difficult to install. Your step-by-step instruction in this video gave me confidence that I'd be able to install them without too much trouble or confusion. Thanks again!
Glad you found it helpful
Really helpful, I know they are more expensive but your helpful advice has encouraged me to try them on my next build.
I’m very happy to hear that
Brilliant! Best instructor/instructional video anywhere!!!
Thank you
Thanks, this is very helpful. I'm going to use these slides for shelves that slide out (don't want side mounts, don't want to give up the space). The instructions are very centric to a drawer, but now seeing how they go on I know how to adjust for a flat shelf. You rock!
Glad you found it helpful
Thx for an incredible video. Made installing my first undermount drawer slides a little easier. Keep teaching...so I can keep learning!
Glad you found it helpful
Great instructions. Me as a dummy can do it now!
I would stick to metric as a fabricator. So much more easy and accurate.
Excellent video! Just in time as I start my cabinet building project. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
This really helped me install the drawer slides
Thanks George
Fabulous video! Thank you for your detailed demonstration.
Glad you found it helpful
You made a complicated process look simple. Thank you.
Give it a shot!
Very good video. I am one of those that needs to know why for everything (drove my parents crazy) This video was perfect. Thank you.
THANKS... Best step by step inst. I've ever seen on the tube
Glad you found it helpful
Wow! Awesome video! You need to continue to do these types of videos, you are so good at explaining it. Please show ticks and tricks for your Festool tools, love the collection!! Shane
More to come!
I greatly appreciate the fact that he has a framed photograph of Ron Swanson on his back wall, who, though fictional, is a role model of mine.
