Thank you for making this video! This was so helpful for me to learn from as I renovated my kitchen. I built all my own drawer boxes and installed them with these Blum slides using this video as a guide and I could not be happier.
I just installed the undermount drawer slides for all the kitchen base cabinets I made. I have double the number of cabinets than the previous kitchen build I did but installing the slides with your technique took me a fraction of the time. Less (in fact zero) swearing and perfect first go. Amazing. Thank you so much.
I've watched this series of BCTEW numerous times. Awesome instruction. You sir, are a gifted teacher. I am grateful for all you do. You have given me inspiration to want to rebuild my kitchen by myself. I am learning skills that, had I listened to my grandpa when I was a kid I would have learned this trade as a teenager. Well, better late than never. Jason, thank you sir. These videos are invaluable to me. Cheers !
I have watched a hundred videos on cabinet building and by far this is the easiest method I have seen. Thanks for sharing, Oh and great name for your business!
Major major thanks! I built my kitchen cabinets and used side-mount cause I thought undermount were too tedious and difficult. I'm now doing a 8 foot bathroom vanity and I clicked on your video to see if you had an easier way to do side-mount. After I watched the video I was completely impressed. Followed your method to the "T" and now have six perfect undermount soft-slide drawers.
This is an amazing school for anyone who wants to take their woodworking abilities to the next level - thanks so very much for your sharing of experience .
Sure do appreciate this video. Love woodworking and am largely self-taught. Currently remodeling my own kitchen (building face frame, shaker style cabinets as per your videos) and I can't tell you how much you've saved me in costly mistakes (that I most certainly would have made). Hope I get the chance to buy you a whisky some day, you've really helped! Cheers from Tigard!
I've saved your videos to refer back to. I'm going to start my walk-in closet makeover next week. I plan on building a 6 drawer chest in the build and your video is full of great information. I will definitely be using under drawer mounts. Thanks so much.
This was a perfect video. I just spent hours being frustrated with the side mount soft-close drawer glides. Spent hundreds of dollars only to have the various slides fail over and over. trying different brands. When he just threw the slides in the video, I busted a gut. It made my day!!!! Now I will look at the under mounts.
I am designing and going to build a small island in my kitchen with large deep drawers. Thank goodness I started watching your videos. Love these slides. Your videoes make it seem very doable!!
I have seriously been intimidated by the thought of making drawers. Have increased my skill set and ready to try some drawers for the bottom cabinets in my kitchen. Thank you for this series and for so many other videos. Entertaining, real, and helpful.
Thanks for this tutorial! I'm making new drawers for my kitchen cabinets, and while not *quite* as simple as what you're doing here (think cabinets from the 60s), your clear and complete instruction was a godsend to making this project accessible. Thanks for taking the time to share 🙂
Great video!! You know your craft well!! I enjoy your videos. They really build confidence. It amazing that with a table saw, miter saw, drill, glue we can pretty much make anything. If we can build a box we can build many things!! Thank you for producing these videos.
I just put in draw slides for the new bathroom vanity I am building, and OMG it was so much easier the way you showed in your video. THANK YOU so much for sharing that "hack".
Tutor I’m wondering if you’ve seen my channel. It’s new but I’m trying to grow it. I figured after spending a career building custom cabinetry, I’d start showing people how to do it nicely. Too many folks out there just don’t know what they are doing. Let me know what you think. I may be too boring cause I don’t have this theatrical quality but you’ll learn a lot. I guarantee that.
This man knows his trade, love his knowledge, and presentation quality. Thank you! P.S. I can understand his voice since I donated most of my hearing to power tools and airplanes.
I've had the chance to use this table a couple of times now. It's fun to whip out in front of people:) I can see what people are talking about when they say the legs are delicate, but they're design to support a "mostly" vertical load, not be torqued from the side or pushed back into place. If you just let the table open or close on it's own and don't force anything, it works great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh Once it's set up, it's pretty solid. My only gripe would probably be related to the clamps provided. They're not the highest quality. They do the job, so no big deal, but they could be better. All in all, pretty cool gadget.
Hey Jason, enjoying your videos. I'm a little late to the party on this one, but an important point to note on the Blum undermount slides is that all the adjustment features are set bottomed out from the factory. It's important to zero out the adjustment features on the back of the slides and the height adjustment on the draw clips before you install your drawer fronts. That way you'll have adjustability in both directions (up and down, instead of just up) if you need it in the future. It may not be a big deal on overlay fronts but on insets, if you ever need to lower the front a smidge you won't be able too.
@mickiefox1854 the drawer height adjustment on the drawer clips comes set all the way down. Install your drawer slides. Then make sure they are level and the adjustments are all set to neutral. (Depending on what model draw slide you get, some of them are adjustable) Then, before you put your drawer in, make sure the clips that mount to the drawer are zeroed out. The clips allow you to adjust the draw up or down. From the factory, they come set all the way at the bottom. If you don't move the clips up a bit, before you install your drawer front, you will not be able to adjust the drawer down if it's installed a bit high.
Aaron that’s pretty cool that you’ve done it that way. Those are hard to setup correctly. And rout. Well done. I was thinking of making a video on that on my channel. It’s a great method.
I’m about to start a cabinet project I really have no right starting with my extremely limited woodworking skills so I’m subscribed and power watching. Cheers
Dude love you videos. I am going to remodel my kitchen in the future and I believe with your instruction I can build my own cabinets instead of buying them!
Love your musical choices. You like Red Fang? Wish my dad (a lifetime hobby fine workworker and furniture maker) was still alive. I would be sending him to watch your videos. I did inherit his tools, so you will be helping me to improve the stuff I make.
Best video on cabinet, draws and draw slides that I have seen. Thank you for being such a good teacher. I too will have to ditch all my side mount slides for undermounts. Not sure yet if I will jump on them.
This was so helpful man. I’m doing my 1st cabinets for a client and I’m at this point, I had a tough time today figuring out the drawers. I said I’d get home, watch some UA-cam videos, and figure it out. This video was a god send. i know exactly what to do now. Thank you so much 🙏🏽
dispose of your linseed oil rags properly. a can full of water with the lid on it for example (paint can). Ask me how I know what happens....my shed burnt down lol. Spontaneous combustion is real with natural oils. Love your videos, thanks for all the info!
I like everything you've shown in these first 2 videos. In my kitchen remodel I'll copy you except add 2 dowels on each side of the drawer face because all my life I've been cursed with the faces pulling apart. I've also been cursed with bottoms falling out from heavy loads so I've always made 3/8" bottoms.
great content im just bingeing on youtube to see how I can make cabinets for my campervan project love your humour and presentations you could be an honorary brit hahahah (im in the UK btw)
Awesome way to clarify some confusing issues on slides. I do have a question concerning the placement of the right rear piece of plywood. Measure over the same distance from side to verticle divider as in front? Thank you
Great show and (show & build) I worked with a company that their less expensive cabinets where &80,000.00, yes! But they did a lot of over engineered! And over built but the finishes where absolutely FLAWLESS!
I just discovered your channel, you're so informative!! The first video I watched I was trying to figure out if your left thumb is a club thumb. I have those too and my husband always calls them toe thunbs! 😂
Appreciate the content. You mentioned the inset drawer width is the distance between the slides and plus the width of the two side pieces. What two side pieces, the drawer sides, or something else?
I actually find side mounted drawer slides much faster to mount. Bottom mount drawer slides are nice and typically allow for a little more weight, but they are going to cost you about twice as much as side mount ball bearing slides, if not more. They also require a bit more work than side mounted drawer slides and typically require a bit more planning if in the build of a cabinet if you are going to be using them. So I wouldn't suggest you ditch the side mount ball bearing slides. Just choose the slides that but suit your application.
Awesome videos and very well done! Thank you so much for taking the time to make such amazing, easy to follow videos! After watching all 3 videos I didn’t get or see (correct me if I’m wrong) how the base is attached/installed to the cabinet?
Thank you for making this video! This was so helpful for me to learn from as I renovated my kitchen. I built all my own drawer boxes and installed them with these Blum slides using this video as a guide and I could not be happier.

How did the kitchen rebuild go?
I have watched a hundred videos on cabinet building and by far this is the easiest method I have seen. Thanks for sharing, Oh and great name for your business!

I build 2 cabinets for my kitchen. You are the most incredible mentor who explains very well. Thank you so much!!

Just found your account and love the way you explain things, your lil tips and sense of humour lmao rad dad energy 🤙🏻

Great presentation, you're an excellent teacher, presenter, and entertainer.

Exactly what I am doing...It is very doable...take your time plan your work and work your plan. Like Jason says "go slow"
I have seriously been intimidated by the thought of making drawers. Have increased my skill set and ready to try some drawers for the bottom cabinets in my kitchen. Thank you for this series and for so many other videos. Entertaining, real, and helpful.
By far the best video on making drawers and undermount slide installation.... I've watched A LOT!!!! Thank you so much!!!

Man I think it's one of the best tutorial I've seen ever!
Thanks a lot :)
You should do the same video series, but with uppers and their install! Awesome work, man!
This man knows his trade, love his knowledge, and presentation quality. Thank you! P.S. I can understand his voice since I donated most of my hearing to power tools and airplanes.
Me too. I'm installing flooring before renovating a kitchen and my BFR is due this month.
I will be following your videos, they are really very easy to understand even if I don't speak English well, thanks for your tips
That's for your hard work on this - I never understood how someone would give it
👎
Those are the folks that built their cabinets in May.
I just finished the drawers today. Easy Squeezy Lemon Pleasey recipe 😊
Excellent video. I was just searching for a simple way to make a drawer for my under counter Microwave. Thank you for posting.
You're my new Spirit Animal. Rock on.

I said it in #1, but I must restate: You are great teacher/craftsman!
Tom Byrne
I'm going to start building 10 drawers with bottom mount slides and this video is perfect. Thanks so much.

Thank you! I was wondering about that and was going to check them.
What do you mean by zero out? Are those instructions in the package with the slides?
@mickiefox1854 the drawer height adjustment on the drawer clips comes set all the way down. Install your drawer slides. Then make sure they are level and the adjustments are all set to neutral. I've enjoyed using lock miters with my router to make boxes lately. Works pretty well!
Aaron that’s pretty cool that you’ve done it that way. Those are hard to setup correctly. And rout. Well done. I was thinking of making a video on that on my channel. It’s a great method.
Part 3 hype train, all aboard.
Ok
Nice video! I enjoy the tongue in cheek presentation too.
I’m about to start a cabinet project I really have no right starting with my extremely limited woodworking skills so I’m subscribed and power watching. Cheers
Same! Barely a clue what I’m doing, but here we go.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting this episode!
Ok
I have never used under mount slides. Have been curious about how to, next opportunity I will. Thank a bunch
Looking forward to doors and drawers.
Great videos.
Thank you
Mr. Bourbon, what a nice videos man. Congratulations.
This guy's awesome on his video creation.
Easily my new favorite woodworker.
You are a goofball. I love it!
Dude love you videos. I am going to remodel my kitchen in the future and I believe with your instruction I can build my own cabinets instead of buying them!

This has to be easiest way anyone has explained the install of these slides!!
Thank you so much 🙏🏽
I've seen a lot of videos on this subject but yours is the most entertaining and so simplified!
Luv it !!!
This guy is good, and has a great workshop
Very nice solid, simple, fast, and beautiful piece of art.
I am doing some cabinet work in my home and this is a great video. I am changing my method of building and using the under mount slides. Thank you
That thumbnail is good comedy! Your channel is poised to explode. You’re releasing videos at a pace that hopefully tickles the algorithm.
Awesome video! As always! 👍
Love the detailed explanation of the construction. Are you using 3/4" plywd for your drawer boxes?
I had the same question.
As do I, 3/4" or 1/2". Hard to tell from the video itself. It looks like 3/4 but again not sure
He makes it fun to watch and he is very knowledgeable
I'm going to try this in the next month or so. I'm in the planning stages right now. I want to build a thing to hold my fishing rods and extra tackle.
Excellent drawer slides. SUPER quick & easy.
dispose of your linseed oil rags properly. a can full of water with the lid on it for example (paint can). Ask me how I know what happens....my shed burnt down lol. Spontaneous combustion is real with natural oils. Love your videos, thanks for all the info!
I really appreciate the work and humor you put into these. They're really inspiring me do some much-needed cabinetry.
Great video! One thing you never mention in your videos is the thickness of birch used for drawers. Will you confirm what thickness you use?
He does tell you near the beginning. ½”.
Awesome work Jason! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Took the youtube also a while to show me your channel, the content is great and very useful- thanks
It takes a good eye and patience to do this kind of work ...
Love the instrument and commentary.. looking to start progressing my wood working into custom work. Thank you for helping me progress in my journey
Great video. Love the way you explain everything when you need to know it and not a long boring version.
I like everything you've shown in these first 2 videos. I really did enjoy your video. You made it so simple and easy to install. Now, I'm off to buy undermount drawer slides.
Awwwwwesome dude.......seriously. great work.

I have been waiting on this video. Very excited about this series.
Thanks I am changing to the undermount slides.
Thank you for such a clear description of how to do this, and I love the humor too.
I need to start my cabinets over. LOL You are fun to watch too. Thanks!
I LOVE your video series! WOW! You make it look soooo easy! Love your sense of humor, too!
random tip ive found on the wood branding... if your wood is slightly damp it makes the register really even and strong.
OMG where have you been. I am rebuilding an old RV and I am just nerding out on these videos. Hello from Alaska.
I like the way you share your profession Bro...so fun and enjoyable Bro
Appreciate the content. You mentioned the inset drawer width is the distance between the slides and plus the width of the two side pieces. What two side pieces, the drawer sides, or something else?
Dude! Crazy awesome. Class Act! Thanks for the education. You make it look too easy. Looking forward to more content.
I love this series!!
You made a clean video I admire the effort you put into the production. That was excellent
You are a very clever man.
Great videos..been doing side mounted for 30 years. Just never wanted to switch bc it just seemed complicated. Ordering a case now..
awesome!! very easy to understand. thank you!

You’re a genius!!!
Love it👏👏👏👏👏bravo!!!!!
Excellent and fun filled tutorial.
Makes it look so easy. Thanks for the series.
Your videos are great. Excellent explanations.
Would love to see a tour of your shop!! I’m hooked on your vids, man.
Finally - after a ridiculous number of drawer and slide videos - this one looked like it'll actually work.
Awesome videos and very well done! Thank you so much for taking the time to make such amazing, easy to follow videos! After watching all 3 videos I didn’t get or see (correct me if I’m wrong) how the base is attached/installed to the cabinet?
Hi Bourbon man , what is the recommended thickness ply for drawer build for pocket holes …cheers
Excellent 🤠👍🔨
