I've looked at so many style influencers. You are my favorite! So many "influencers" simply model the same things everyone else is doing & there's nothing original. You & your ideas are always fresh, attractive and truly stylish. Really appreciate you!
At 5'3/ being petite and curvy, the overwhelming majority of my skirts are above or right under my knees. Longer skirts just make me look shorter. Therefore, I wear knee length skirts. I really don't care if I am in style or out of style. If I were tall, I would probably wear long skirts.
I agree entirely! Not only do knee length dresses/skirts flatter me, wrap dresses/skirts don’t lay flat. The opening makes it look as if I’m wearing something too small. Pleats and florals don’t flatter a large derrière. As I walk my rear looks like I have two cats in a bag fighting. A pencil skirt in linen or silk without a waistband are terrific. Tops should be have cropped hems but so short that a band of your bare skin is showing.
I’m 63, 5’2 and 122 lbs and curvy. I love skirts. The best for me is pencil cut that is slightly above the knees. They never out of style and I can still wear my old ones and get compliments each time. Classic style is forever new.
This is the best video I've seen on skirts, modern, classic, trendy and fun in one class..... I adore that FARM RIO skirt! It's a conversation starter❤👌👌
I have a closet full of skirts and skorts! I believe the key is to know your body type in order to find the perfect style for your body. I'm 5'2", 125 lbs, and I know that a gathered flowy style doesn't look as complimentary on me as a pencil/narrower skirt. It's also important to know 'your' perfect length. I love skirts, they are comfortable, appropriate and versatile. Great video ❤
Yes, I've read that hems at the widest part of calf may make them look wider, & not elongated, kind of stumpy, aging, imo, i agree with all that. I think especially with a wider flowey skirt bc where are my 2 legs to hold this skirt. 😀 I thought I'd not like a floor length again after younger days! Ty Elena for opening me up for more fun than I thought I would have. Also newly in a wheelchair, clothes will be laying in a different way, but my 'lines' still apply, i think. And, to Elena, I am very much looking forward to seeing what you may have for us 2024-2025 (my new season upcoming- Fall/Winter. I'm excited. I'm at a fun age now- 60 in a few weeks😊 TY ❤&✌🏻to everybody.
I am dazzled by your crocheted top; I've seen it in other videos of yours. My favorite skirts are a) the white one with the trim b) the white skirt with the large black floral print c) the black pleated skirt d) the black multi coloured skirt you wore to the special event d) the black stripe asymmetrical skirt. e) the long satin (hopefully bias cut mauve skirt). I'm not a denim skirt fan as the wearer needs to be very slim. Nor did I like skirts that have an obvious elastic band. I think you are the most innovative fashion stylist on UA-cam, between your amazing sense of coordinating different colours and the clean timeless styles you select. I'm also 76 and I think older women can adapt their wardrobe to much of what you show. We just need to cover up our upper arms more.
Another tip when buying a silk or satin skirt is to make sure the material has been cut on the bias. It will drape better and be more forgiving on your curves.
Excellent advice when applied to packing different looks with fewer pieces for a two-week vacation. I was surprised by how creamy the white floral skirt appeared when paired with the light blue shirt. Yummy. Then same skirt looked totally different with other tops. Request: Could you do a video on how çlosely or how loosely pieces should fit and how to ask a tailor to make the adjustments we want?
I'm definitely in my skirt era! I've bought 4 skirts this year (after getting rid of all the ones I had because unfortunately they either no longer fit or I'd outgrown the style) and I'm so ready for your recommendations because I plan to get a few more to round up my collection! Also, you 200-Day Outit Challenge is truly inspiring and giving me a new perspective on how to incorporate more color. I'll for sure be looking for some colorful pieces to add to my wardrobe because of you!
That's amazing! It sounds like you're having so much fun with your skirt era. And thank you so much for the kind words about my Instagram Outfit Challenge. I'm so glad it's inspiring you to add more color to your wardrobe. Happy skirt shopping and styling ❤
As a follow up note to the instagram challenge . I hope you continue it past the 200 day mark . I think it’s informative , educational & just plain fun . I smile every time I hear you say “ challenge your inner Granny “ !
I agree! It’s refreshing to see someone with personal style and using color! I’m so incredibly tired of those boring Instagram outfit formulas that everyone wears. Reeks of “I’m trying to live up to what influencers wear on social media”!
I have been watching your daily outfit challenge all summer long and have been loving all the midi/maxi skirt outfits. I had already settled on this length of skirt for my own wardrobe…so all your creative ideas have made it easy for me to implement. I have also purchased some of the skirts…you really do come up with beautiful skirts at amazing prices. I usually spend a lot more money on my clothes…you have inspired me to rethink that strategy.
You are so talented and this video really speaks to me! I only wear dresses and skirts and dont want to wear heels. You do it so well I would love a video on skirt for fall!!
I'm so glad to hear that! Skirts can be so versatile and fun to style. I hope you enjoy experimenting with the ones you have. Thank you for your lovely comment!
Dear Elena, your style advise is always such an inspiration! I mitivated to go bold and just bought a gorgeous red pleated midi skirt from Mango and.... completly lost how to style it 😂😂 If you have one, maybe you could include some tips about it in your challenge? Thank you for being such a muse!
Thank you Ellena. I don't wear high heels either. With this video you've given many different aproaches regarding shoes and skirts, I cant wear sandals, but that, I've learnt how to manage. Thanks.
I love all my of these but the most unexpected beautiful looks for me were the ones with the lilac skirt. Lilac with yellow and lilac with red?!? Gorgeous!!!
Skirts are quite scarce in stores. I've been hunting for them online and in shops and find selections very limited these days. I did manage to find a nice linen skirt and a denim wrap skirt but not much else to my liking.
So right about the seam line. I ordered a satin skirt from a brand that typically makes quality clothing (“MNG”) and the seam line is wavy and bumpy even after I ironed it. Unfortunately I did not try on the skirt until the return window closed. The color is beautiful and I am so disappointed - and reluctant to try again with this style.
i never understood why knee length or just above the knee length never seem to be in style -- like never. I swear, for years, any time I am skirt shopping online I see way too many mini skirts or skirts below the knees. Is it really that bad to want a shorter skirt (at the knee or above) when it doesnt feel appropriate to wear a mini skirt, yet you actually want to show some leg or not cut off your legs in the shin area? thanks for any insight.
Absolutely agree with you. I wear them even though they are not technically in style. The lengths you mentioned look so much better on me and I’m 5’7” and 125 lbs.
I buy skirts and dresses that I like and have them hemmed to suit me. Generally, I like fuller skirts slightly below the knee and pencil/straight above the knee, depending on the style and fabric. Tea length if it’s a dressier occasion. Floor length if formal.
Great advice on out of style skirt length and satin skirt seams! Could you give us suggestions on what skirt and cropped pants lengths to declutter based on outgoing or outdated fashions?
Very helpful! I have some skirts that's already in my wardrobe but I'm unsure to style them this season until watch your video. Looking forward to more inspo!
I LOVED this! Some excellent points - I would add (especially if it's a very unique skirt, like a big floral) if it's available (and you like it) buy the matching top; makes it look like a dress and gives you one more "look", even if you only have one or two tops that go with it. This video was fun! I live in a very casual area, so most of your choices here are elevated for me, but it's gotten me excited about skirt-shopping again. Thanks so much! New subscriber from Vancouver BC Canada. Have a great week!
Amazing but prefer dresses. Tge bluebobe at the start is similar to a style I have in linen, 3 different colours, white, blue and red. Always smart, always cool
Great ideas. Perfectly explained. Thanks Ellena. My personal favourite skirts are pleated. I don’t wear them often but have always liked them. The options you chose to show here are all good choices. ❤ P.S. I just love that first white skirt. 🤩
I love your styling. Very Classy and you are a lovely girl. How do I get this same beautiful look when I am older and a size 16? I try and get so discouraged that I resort back to jeans. A closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. Thanks!
You are a unique individual so you will never look the same as most people you see pictures of, even if you are able to find the exact same clothing pieces they are wearing, which can be difficult anyway. But you can certainly learn to dress in a classy and beautiful way regardless of your age and size. I would start by looking into body shapes and color analysis. These will help you find the clothing styles and colors that most flatter you. Looking for inspiration from people with similar coloring or body shape can be helpful in finding a style that suits you. Fashion is also a way to express your values and personality, so keep things you love and feel confident in even if they don't seem to fit or are currently out of style. You will likely come to understand what it adds to your style in time. But it is also sometimes important to push outside your comfort zone so you don't get stuck in a rut. I would pick one day a week where you consciously try something new to see if you grow more comfortable with it over time or see if you can pinpoint the source of your discomfort so you know what to avoid in the future. Good luck!
Here in Munich I go to work by bike. A wide skirt tends to end up in the wheel. On the other hand too short or too stiff or narrow skirts do not work with sitting on a saddle. Do you have any solution?
In fact it’s important not only follow the vogue. It is important to have in consideration the length of the person. I’m petite if I’m wearing very long skirt looks terrible in me!!
Elena længden på et skørt er individuelt, jeger 153 cm høj, ddt betyder at jegser komisk ud med et maxi skørt,, jeg bruger længden et stykkeunder knæet, jeg føler mig ikke spor aoudatet ❤❤
Do you wear dresses? You can turn a dress into a skirt by wearing something over the top part of the dress. Button downs look good tied at the waist with a dress
All of the skirts in this video are so striking/memorable, it would be obvious that they are ‘repeating’. But if your 8 skirts were a denim knee length, a plain/solid/neutral satin skirt, a black poplin pencil skirt, a simple floral print, a linen wrap skirt, a straight khaki midi, a many pleated midi, and one other simple style - I doubt anyone would realize that you had worn them once a week.
She is tall and thin with no hips, so everything looks good on her. I happen to be medium height, with large hips, so not everything looks good on me. I have to be picky, to what I wear.
The outfits featured do not work in the real world; they're only suitable for dry, warm, sunny weather. If only the weather was conducive to dressing in a carefree way...
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thank you so much ellena as someone into modest outfits I wear skirts alot so am happy with your style knowledge have literally downloaded the video for constant remainder thanks alot from Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

Skirts are quite scarce in stores. I've been hunting for them online and in shops and find selections very limited these days. I did manage to find a nice linen skirt and a denim wrap skirt but not much else to my liking.
Wow thank you. Love the looks..
I love this video. So many kombinations and every one is nice. Thank you very much!
❤ wrap sqirt since 1974 when I first got mine from a hand me down older friend. I still wear them.
This was the best video I have seen. Thank you sososo much.
I can't seem to find the H & M white wrap skirt. I NEED that skirt!!!
Same! Probably sold out. 😮
Such great outfit ideas! I’m saving up for that FAB Farm Rio skirt❤️
Wonderful video! I love skirts and how you made each outfit look so great. I am 5 feet tall, what is the best skirt length for short women???
Such a practical & gorgeous video
i never understood why knee length or just above the knee length never seem to be in style -- like never.
Have you tried skirts for tall ppl? You could get them hemmed.
Feel free to wear that length - the ultimate elegance….
Absolutely agree with you. I wear them even though they are not technically in style. The lengths you mentioned look so much better on me and I’m 5’7” and 125 lbs.
Definitely agree. I just purchase cloth and have a seamstress sew custom skirts just to get that length cause it’s hard to get them ready-made.
Those two color prints are a good idea, they are easier to put tops with.
Thank you,
Btw, Ann Taylor has similar striped midi wrap skirt right now. 😘
It’s a pleasure to see and hear you!!
Дякую за інформативне відео!
Завжди надихаюся вами❤
Excellent 🌷
Hi Ellena, would you recommend layering for those who are not as slim as you are?
You are so fantastic. Style class, variety and price point. Thank you!!
Amazing but prefer dresses. Tge bluebobe at the start is similar to a style I have in linen, 3 different colours, white, blue and red. Always smart, always cool
Skirts were always formal office wear for me - knee length. I have not known how to style skirts for casual wear - thanks for the ideas.
The white T-shirt you wore with the denim shirt. Where is it from?
Great ideas. Perfectly explained. Thanks Ellena.
My personal favourite skirts are pleated. I don’t wear them often but have always liked them. The options you chose to show here are all good choices. ❤
P.S. I just love that first white skirt. 🤩
Where do I buy this skirts and tops
❤❤❤. Could you please share what are yours red shoes?
Hello there, as always another very good video, you just made me love more my wardrobe and realize the potential of what I have. Thanks a lot 😃
Awsome video❤
I love your choice of music.
Love this video so much as a skirt loverr
❤ this video so much! Please make many more for tops, and pants.
Is the satin skirt cut on the bias?
Good luck!
Please post the link to the black short sleeve off the shoulder top. I don't see it here.
Here in Munich I go to work by bike. A wide skirt tends to end up in the wheel. On the other hand too short or too stiff or narrow skirts do not work with sitting on a saddle. Do you have any solution?
I really enjoyed this video! Thank you Ellena! Will you make one with dresses?
The Linenskirt is Not yet available in Germany 😢
Where are the links.
Wide leg pant style video tips
Ok... I don't think I ever subscribed to a channel in the middle of the first video I see.. Till now!
I am pettite which makes it hard to shop for the proper length of skirt, what is a good length for maxi skirt? Is it ankle length?
Heaven!!!!!! skits for Christians ladies thank you so much
I have zero skirts :) I love shorts or dresses. I use to have some but never wore them.
Lovely and useful. May I say that I would ditch that AC/DC tshirt? Such a teenage vibe.
Very nice
Love
Where to purchase b/w skirt?
In fact it’s important not only follow the vogue. It is important to have in consideration the length of the person. I’m petite if I’m wearing very long skirt looks terrible in me!!
I love your videos but can you please lower the background music .
Elena længden på et skørt er individuelt, jeger 153 cm høj, ddt betyder at jegser komisk ud med et maxi skørt,, jeg bruger længden et stykkeunder knæet, jeg føler mig ikke spor aoudatet ❤❤
Please, give us link that goes directly to the object, no to the store's link.
How tall are you for reference?
I think she mentioned somewhere that she's 1,65 m
@@marizzaspirito3646 thank you!
The half tucked in/out button down shirt screams daytime drinking to me. Nope!
Actually I need two.
Eight skirts is a lot
just curious ... why no mini skirts?
❤❤❤❤
I always feel fat and frumpy in a skirt. I have tried all kinds of styles but I just don’t end up wearing them.
I have a shirt torso and find that skirts accentuate the flaw.
Do you wear dresses? You can turn a dress into a skirt by wearing something over the top part of the dress. Button downs look good tied at the waist with a dress
@@tonyak2446 o that’s an interesting idea. Gonna try that! Thank you!
The first skirt is from Massimo Dutti, previous collection not H&M. Correct?
No, it’s current H&M - she has it linked in the description box (and I tried it in H&M) 😊
I got caught wearing Panties underneath my shorts. Now I have to wear a Skirt now. ( Male )
I find all those skirts not really suitable for work😢
So you are going to wear only 8 skirts with different tops if you go somewhere for summer 2 months 🤔
😍🤩🔥
She is tall and thin with no hips, so everything looks good on her. I happen to be medium height, with large hips, so not everything looks good on me. I have to be picky, to what I wear.
We have the same concerns... hoping Elena would think how about to a not petite size
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
ery beautiful sack and. Thanks for helping to make this beautiful video for us #LVGUCI
The outfits featured do not work in the real world; they're only suitable for dry, warm, sunny weather. If only the weather was conducive to dressing in a carefree way...
Some places do have that kind of climate. It's important to dress for the climate you have.
