@@norwegianspa8818 I agree butter may taste better, but I have seen plenty of recipes using Crisco. he reason is because it makes a crispier cookie. Butter tends to spread more, but Crisco keeps it together. I just made SesameSeed cookies with Crisco yesterday. Another thing you can do is bake the cookies twice much like biscotti cookies. Bake at your regular time, let them cool a bit, then bake another 15 minutes to make it crispier. This was my idea when I found an Italian cookbbok and sesame seed cookies were in the subsection called BISCOTTI. So I baked my twice. Try a few, like 5 baked twice and see if that's more to your liking.

it crap we dont use vegetable shortening ! we use BUTTER! much better recipes look up sicilian sesame cookies or use a italian butter cookie dough
