Becky, you made me cry today! Crying in a good way. It was when you said you were cooking all by yourself and you were glad we were there to be with you. As someone who doesn't have any friends, I really appreciate you welcoming us into the kitchen. ❤
Same ❤️ my mom passed 2 years ago and we would always cook every meal together. I made Easter dinner by myself. Prep Friday and finished Sunday. Enjoy every minute with your mom Becky ❤
I unfortunately do not have a great or even good relationship with my mom and it makes me sad watching these videos but I still watch as I love her content
I smiled when your mom was telling you about sliding cake layers. When I was 6, my brother was having his 9th birthday and he had asked for my mother's devil's food cake with caramel icing. It was her specialty and it always went off without a hitch, but not this time. I think she was in a hurry and the cake was still slightly warm. The top layer started to slide and she pushed it back into place and stuck some toothpicks in to hold it in place until she could get it cooled enough in the fridge so it wouldn't slide. Somehow, one edge of the cake stayed put and it slid again, just slightly so there was a void between the hunk stuck in place and the rest. Just then my brother walked in, took one look, and in typical 9 yr old boy fashion, said, "Cool, Mom! You made a cake with a handle!" Sixty years later, we still talk about the "handle cake"! ❤
Your genuine surprise and happiness at seeing your mom show up was absolutely heartwarming. What a beautiful thing to have such a friend in your mother.
Hi everyone, just want to say I am so grateful for this community. I was able to interview today with a great company and I have a work demo on Monday before I can start my probationary period for the next 3 months and I’m feeling great today. I wanted to share my joy! Dealing with a career change is scary but I’m so glad I have the opportunity.
I'm yelling at the screen pot holder in the oven Becky!!! I love it when you leave your mistakes in bc we learn from it. So thank you. I didn't know why it had to be creamed in that order and now I do. Update:: I love how she still teaches you and thus us too. Give her big hug Becky just because. 😊
Becky, for many years I was a professional Baker and Caterer. The cake you said didn’t come out the way you had hoped it would, simply make a lemon simple syrup and douse the layers well then make one of the cheesecake layers that you’ve made before to go between the two lemon layers. You can use raspberry between the layers if you wish but with the simple syrup you probably won’t need to. However you can decorate the top of the cake with cream cheese icing with fresh raspberries and thinly sliced twisted lemon slices.🍋🍰❤
Becky the look on your face when your mom talks to the camera is priceless, nothing but the love you have for your mom shines in your smile. Great video, thank you!
For my Easter meal a neighbor brought over plates of food for my husband and I. He’s bedridden and has dementia and didn’t even know it was Easter Sunday. It was very sweet of my neighbor to bring us dinner otherwise we probably would’ve just had cereal 😂😂😂😂 When we celebrated Easter dinner with my side of the family we would have ham, sliced potatoes cooked in butter with onions baked in the oven, baked beans, sometimes potato salad, deviled eggs and “green stuff”. 😂😂😂 the green stuff was a gelatin salad- lime jello, applesauce and ginger ale. Put the lime jello in with the applesauce in saucepan until the jello dissolves add ginger ale (can’t remember how much but a little less than the amount of water that would have been used). Put in jello mold or dish you will use to serve and refrigerate. It’s sweet but has a little zing to it. Goes great with ham
I love the way you and your Mom work together to prepare for your dinner parties. The way you both organize is so efficient. I was teary eyed when your mother made it by surprise. My mother is no longer here and it just made my heart smile how you think of things to make her have a better day. Also, I love all of your videos.
My mother and I have been waiting for this dinner. You and your mom are just so inspiring . Ty for being so gracious with your time and sharing your life
I absolutely love these family dinners you cook with your mother. She has such an elegance about her. Of course, love your videos too Becky. Having your mother on makes it even more special.
Beckyfrom someone who bakes and decorates cakes for my family. You did fantastic on your cake. It looked delicious and no way would people think that a nervous, unsure beginner decorated it. Well done Becky, it was stunning. Loved your mums rabbit cake as well
Lol that's so sweet that your mom came early and suprized you in her kitchen... Your parents and you seem to have such a lovely relationship you are so lucky
Give your mom another hug and a shoulder massage. I feel caregiving for loved ones is close to one of the hardest jobs ever. So happy she got a break to enjoy the party!
Becky, you touched your moms shoulders and I realized mine were up at my ears. That’s was my thing with my mom. “ Shoulders down” we would say. Thanks for that… 😢😢
Tip for cake stacking when using a jam filling: put a very thin layer of frosting on the top of each cake layer before piping your boarder & adding the jam. Then, after stacking your cake layers, refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes (or freeze for 10-15 minutes before adding the remaining frosting & decorating. This will help stabilize the cake & keep it from leaning.
I smiled when I saw the pickles. We always had a pickle dish on our table. It had pickled beets, pickled onions and several kinds of cucumber pickles. My grandmother always had that on her table for nice dinners and so does my mom. My sister is the one who LOVES them so she will get the pickle plate!
I'll never forget a lesson learned in Jr. HS. My Home Economics teacher, Mrs. Meyers always said baking is an exact science (measure exact)but cooking is flexible/forgiving. Those blackberries were HUGE!! Everthing looked great. Welcome home Mom😊
A beautiful Easter spread! Have got 2 try these recipes. Ladies, u out did urselves. Dad, ur a gem. Always willing 2 lend a hand. Kudos 2 the after-dinner cleanup volunteers. What a fantastic family. ❤ & God bless
Becky, I was so happy for you when your mom showed up. 😊 mom must be awfully tired since she had to catch a 2:00 AM flight. I’m sure just knowing she was there took the stress off. 25 minutes. A nice surprise for us viewers too.
Having both my children living out of state and having lost both my parents several years ago I usually fix special holiday meals with my friends, I kept the meal small this year, just ham sweet potatoes with pecan topping and asparagus, no bunny cake this year, I have the original bunny cake recipe from an old magazine, I have made the bunny cake since I was in my twenty's I am 77 years young, gave 6 grandson's so will show the boys how to make bunny cake. Glad you had a great Easter 🐣
You are so lucky to have family gatherings, I have 6 siblings, two children and their spouses 3 grown grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. And not any of them have family gatherings with me.Defindly not the way I grew up with family all together 😭
You guys made my day. My mother and sister are with the Lord now. Watching this brought back so many joyful memories. Your relationship is good for my soul. Thank you both
I have been binging your videos these past months and have been day dreaming and brainstorming what I can start doing while I still live in an apartment! Thank you for inspiring me and teaching me so much!
What a beautiful way to celebrate Easter with your family. Everyone was thought of during the preparation of each dish. What love. Thank you Jesus for loving us and showing us what love is all about. Thank you for sharing your Easter with us.
Becky, I made the Cheesy Potatoes yesterday and found an easier way to mix them. Mix all the ingredients together and then add the frozen potatoes last. Game changer!!!
Hi, dear Becky! Celebrate every day you have with your beautiful parents. Their presence is truly a gift in your life --- mine have passed, and I miss them terribly. 💔❤
Debra my momma is missed everyday also. She was my best friend and I loved her so much. That’s a reason I love watching Becky and her momma. It fills the emptiness for me for a moment in time when watching them. We are blessed to be able to watch them together.
When I cook a lot for a get together, I almost can’t eat anything after it’s done. I’ve tasted almost every dish and I’m not hungry when it’s time to eat. Happy Easter!
I came across your channel last week and have been binge watching ever since. I really enjoy your personality. You seem such a delightful person and you do great explaining as you go. Thank you for not editing out mistakes as this how we learn. That just adds a down to earth aspect and some humor as well. It makes me smile and chuckle out loud.❤❤❤
Becky i read the recipe that is at the persons site that made the lemon poppy seed cake, it does have baking piwder and baking soda in the recipe. You said in your video it only has 1/4 tsp. Baking soda and no baking powder. Could be why the cakes did not rise very much as well as creamung the butter and sugar, then adding one egg at a time.
This morning i was watching homesteading with the Zimmermans and learned that wedding or funeral potatoes are called that because it is a recipe that can be made for a family or scaled up massively to serve a wedding or funeral.. she just made them for a wedding of 400.. and they look just like they do for Sunday dinner..
I really enjoy watching you and your recipes. I love learning from you. You’re so good at explaining things. I lost my mother three years ago and watching you and your mother cook together just warms my heart. It reminds me of my mom and me keep making your awesome videos.
I love how you and your mom work so well together and truly enjoy eachother’s company. Your banquet looked delicious. Happy Easter to you and your family!
In Australia we eat hot-cross-buns from Good Friday breakfast until they are gone. Traditionally they have sultanas/raisins, spices and candied citrus peel. As they are widely available in all bake houses they now come in all sorts of flavours, (choc-chip, no fruit, apple and cinnamon etc). I’ve never heard of anyone serving them as an accompaniment to a dinner. Usually breakfast or afternoon tea but we don’t serve sweet bread with savoury meals. A really wonderful alternative to hot X buns is Russian Easter bread (Kulich) spread with fancy cream cheese (Paskha). There are recipes for these goodies on Pinterest and the internet. Happy Easter 🦘🇦🇺
I have never seen or heard of serving a hot cross buns with a meal. But I am also an Aussie. But I love using this hot cross buns recipe from Nagi who also is an Aussie too. 🇦🇺🐺🦘🐨
Your Mom is great! As a new viewer I really like how she works with you and guides you in areas that you aren’t the most comfortable. Wonderful teamwork! Happy Easter 🐣🥕🐇Monday!
Becky, I'm wondering if I can make a suggestion...while your feast looks incredibly delicious, it also looks incredibly expensive! I know I'm not the only one struggling to feed my family because EVERYTHING costs so much. Could you please do a budget friendly holiday dinner for all of us that can't walk in the store and get whatever we want? I really like your channel, and I DON'T want to come off as rude... Anyway, that's my suggestion. Hopefully everyone has a great day,!
What a nice surprise to have your Mom back before anticipated. I started crying happy tears. So happy for you! I miss cooking and baking with my Mom for holidays and special occasions. Those are really good memories. She watches me cook for heaven now. Hope you and all of your family are happy and healthy. Love to all.
We learn through our mistakes so it’s all a learning process. I love how your mum brings so much knowledge to the table and you learn from her still! Yet she lets you bring your knowledge and ideas and use them and she learns too. Some fabulous ideas as always ladies, I do love these holiday cooking sessions with your mum (and dad behind the scenes we can’t forget him) xxx
I just love the videos of you and your mom (and dad) cooking together. You are always so respectful to both of them when they are talking on your channel. I just love that!!!
Thank you for not editing out mistakes. Not only does it teach you and us as well, but I love that it shows that you're just human like everyone else. I have learned so much more from you than the cooking shows on TV. I am so incredibly thankful that I have found your videos. I'm late to finding you, so I really enjoy bing watching in between the new videos! Thank you for inspiring us! Happy late Easter to you and your family.
I really love when you share the kitchen with your mom. Sense my mom passed away last October I didn’t have her to help on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. 🐣
Becky: been watching your videos and you’re amazing. Food network needs you!!! Great personality, smile, and sense of humor. Even after cooking for over 50 years I have picked up a few shortcuts from you. Thank you .
You’re are so calm , nothing seems to phase you . if I was in your situation I would be really panicking having to do it all by myself. Love your videos ❤
Fun watching you and your Mom cooking together and the rabbit cake brings back memories of my daughter's birthday cake when she was little. When you showed your Mom's list I saw where your organizational skills came from. I once made a frozen black forest cake for a Christmas brunch. It involved chocolate cake layers and ice cream layers with cherry pie filling in between each section and then the whole thing was frosted with whipped cream and decorated with chocolate curls. My mistake was not making sure the pie filling was super cold before I assembled the cake and when I went to the freezer to take it out the top two layers had slid off and were sitting next to the cake. Fortunately it landed on a plastic container next to the cake so it was actually flat and clean. I grabbed one of the fellows, handed him a large lifter and swore him to secrecy. Between the two of us we lifted the layers back on, I fixed the cream and when it was cut nobody really could tell what had happened. It was either that or no dessert for twenty people.
He is Risen! Happy Easter a day late! I totally enjoy watching you & your mum! So sweet! A lot of preparation but so worth it when you get to spend time with family. I also made the cheesy potatoes because it’s a must have for Easter dinner! I also made the coconut cream pies from Marie’s’ youtube channel … excellent! I’m getting a lot of recipes & ideas too, from you & your mum! I’ve made several things that I’ve learned from you Becky & we always love them! I appreciate you & your mum & love your channel! ✝️🐰🌷💕
I know the surprise was going to be your beautiful mom, such a blessed surprise. Welcome back mom❤❤❤ we are so grateful to have Becky with this amazing community👍 Becky your mom is such a genius at fixing a cake, the cake turned out so beautiful❤
Where to begin? I am just going to go down the list of my notes as there were so many things to comment upon. I love your parents and your loving relationship with them. I also love when you cook with your mum. I appreciate the cooking lessons when you CALMLY adapt from a cooking error and are able to resurrect the “error” into something edible. Also, I have learned not to angst about not having on hand or being able to access a particular ingredient. You just forge ahead and use something you have in your larder that may even make the recipe better. What a stress reliever! I also appreciate the way you and your mum make a military strategy approach to your HUGE family dinners. The list. The order of prep. The way the two of you (also when you are alone) are able to work in the kitchen in tandem (or solitarily when you are alone at home) so that the prep, use of dishes and oven/stove time, and even organizing what you can do a day ahead are well in hand. What I am concerned about, though, is the cost. Surely the two of you who do the bulk of the dishes do not carry the cost on your own. It is nice that people bring a dessert or a side dish but usually the two of you bear the cost of the main meal and at the cost of food these days … ! Not meaning to be a mean miser but … ! And finally, I hope that your family appreciates the massive effort that you and your mum and dad put into this gargantuan effort. You are rock stars! Oh! I forgot to mention the bunny cake that you mum said she just “put together” the night before. Good grief! 🐇🐇🐇💋💋💋
@@cynthiafisher9907 So sorry, Cynthia. I guess I wasn’t thinking clearly. I should have expressed it rightfully as their inherent generosity. I had no intent to insult Becky and her family in any way.
Becky, next time you try your sausage stuffing, try adding a chopped up ( peeled) Granny Smith apple to the sausage while cooking along with a red onion. I’m sure you will love it.
Wow you did a great job. Baking is a science but cooking is a more relaxed way to feed people. When the eggs went in i was shouting at my computer 'no no not yet!' All looked good and so glad your Mum got home to help.
Happy Easter! One thing I heard a while ago: cooking is an art, baking is a science. Also, I've decorated cakes for over 25 years Cakes are much better being frosted the day before. The frosting has time to set and the cake is very moist. If your frosting starts to get air bubbles from the frozen cake thawing, poke your frozen cake with a toothpick before frosting. Everything looked great!❤
Love your channel, love your wonderful attitude , it is so uplifting. I jumped for joy when your mom and dad showed up. Your face just lit up like a light bulb when your mom arrived. It was a treat to see the relationship between you and your mom. ❤️ Your work ethic is top notch. Thank you for all the work you do. You are a blessing ! 😁👍❤️
Hi Becky, the meal looks absolutely delicious !! You and your mum work so hard for your family. It reminds me of my younger days, when I would have 20 to Christmas lunch. Sadly many of our family have passed on and it's just a hand full now. But we still have epic meals with lots of good memories from years passed. When I'm making the Asparagus tart I lay the spears top to tali, that way everyone gets a fare share of the head of Asparagus. I really enjoyed your video. 🌹🌹
I love watching you and your Mom working in the kitchen together. It's a blessing I wish I hadn't taken for granted when I was younger (back when I considered it a "chore"). I'd give anything to be able to prepare family meals with my Mother again. You ladies are helping lots of younger ladies to see the value of this time together.
It takes like minds to work well in the kitchen together. You and your Mom are both very organized and clean, and that makes you a team. My daughter Is not a cleaner and leaves everything a mess, and will tell me I'm a controller for trying to stay organized. It is nice to see a mother and daughter who get along.
It sure is a mystery why you and your daughter don't have a close relationship! It's surprising that if you're so neat that you didn't manage to pass that skill onto your daughter. Maybe you should work on your communication skills with her :)
@@LondonClockwork this is so backhanded and passive aggressive... for what? When you've got something to say, SAY IT WITH YA CHEST. Or don't, and move right along.

Here in Utah we call them funeral potatoes because it's what you bring to the funeral. We absolutely love them.
How darling is that Bunny Cake! You two are so talented!!❤🐰🐰🐰❤️
What a beautiful family and lovely gathering. There is nothing like having family together for the Holidays ❤❤❤
I love the dedication to family…you are there when needed…and vice versa. It fills me with so much joy!
Hi Becky! I’m pretty sure Sultanas are just Golden Raisins, which I saw on the shelf at Winco during your shopping trip video.
I really love when you share the kitchen with your mom. Sense my mom passed away last October I didn’t have her to help on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. 🐣
Sorry for your loss. I miss my mom every day.
Same here, my mom passed and I miss her so much 😢
Becky: been watching your videos and you’re amazing.
Mom is home what a happy surprise for everyone 🎉🎉🎉🎉
He is Risen! Happy Easter a day late! I totally enjoy watching you & your mum! So sweet! A lot of preparation but so worth it when you get to spend time with family. I also made the cheesy potatoes because it’s a must have for Easter dinner! I also made the coconut cream pies from Marie’s’ youtube channel … excellent! I’m getting a lot of recipes & ideas too, from you & your mum! I’ve made several things that I’ve learned from you Becky & we always love them! I appreciate you & your mum & love your channel! ✝️🐰🌷💕
Yes! Your daughter is a sweetheart 💕
Your mom is pure sunshine 😊
I know the surprise was going to be your beautiful mom, such a blessed surprise. Welcome back mom❤❤❤ we are so grateful to have Becky with this amazing community👍 Becky your mom is such a genius at fixing a cake, the cake turned out so beautiful❤
Becky, your mom is so cute. Your both so talented.
Your dad is one in a million!❤️
Becky, try putting your empty piping bag in a tall glass or container, then you can fill it without having to hold it and fill it. 😊❤️
I've been waiting for this video, Becky!! Happy Easter, Hopefully the family member your mom is taking care of is on the mend!! Bless your mom..
I love when your mama pops up in videos. She's so wholesome and performs well in front of the camera ❤
We all learn from our mistakes.
What wonderful delicious looking food. Everything looks so delicious..
Becky I just love your Mom and Dad! They're the sweetest!! ❤❤
Ya I’m one also that likes fruit salad with whip cream or cool whip.
Everything looked great!❤
Becky your mom is so blessed to have you to help her put this beautiful dinner together. Bless you sweet daughter.
Hi Becky, I love the menu for your Easter dinner party. Just enough "fancy" to make it special! Hi Becky's Mom & Dad great to see you.
almost cried with happiness when your mom popped in and you were sooooo excited!!! and daddy giving you a hug!!! i love you and your family
I just check the length of video first. Being spoilt with an hour and a half ❤best wishes to this great community ❤
Oh yeah!!!! More of Becky is what I needed this evening.
Becky, I love watching you and your mom. You work so well together and you can just feel the love.
Like for real

These videos with your mom are some of my favorites. She has such a sweet personality and always gives us great tips. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.❤
