  • How to salvage your old straight pipe exhaust and turn it into a single stack kit, looks and sounds the same as a professional kit, but only 1/4 the cost of name brand, all you need is to buy a stack tip and some manual labor!!

    Couple things about a stack...I have a 99rclb with the same exact stack.
    1. If you leave your back window open it and "roll coal" it will turn your headliner black permanently.
    2. Most people use flex pipe to connect to the down pipe and flex pipe is not water tight so if it rains most water drips out.
    3. It is much louder in the cab. You have to speak much louder if talking to the person next to you.
    4. If driving normal and your back window is open you constantly smell the exhaust and you go "deaf" kinda like after a race or like after a concert. Your normal hearing comes back a few hours later.
    5. Single miter stacks kick ass...period.

    • @quentins5692
      @quentins5692 9 років тому

      If you're stack is offset and isn't a little chode stack it shouldn't turn your headliner black

    I like the idea but you really should have used clamps and make a plate for the bottom of the stack to add stability to it so It won't wiggle at high speed or when you hit bumps and personally I would have had the front edge right in line with the top of the cab yours in just a couple inches too short but over all great

      Jalen Amend he said it was already streight piped. How does changing the position of the tip from the back to through the bed increase horse power and this guy uses a bucket to cover it when it rains! Holy hell that is stupid. Simply admit that this was a very destructive useless and expensive show part to put on his truck.

    Can someone tell me what the actual point is to stacks? I live in Washington and all it seems like it would do is let rain in through your exhaust. And also why don't people put them on gassers?

    • @AQLandscaping
      @AQLandscaping 9 років тому +3

      Jeremiah Turnberg You drill a small hole in the exhaust at the bottom and the water will drain out, and it comes out when the truck starts up. You don't put them on gassers because that is just very dumb.

    • @zSiNIPeRx3636
      @zSiNIPeRx3636 9 років тому +2

      Alex Q why drill a hole? Thats basically like giving yourself an exhaust leak. If there is enough water to make it back to the engine then we will have more problems to worry about than our trucks... besides the little bit of water that collects in the exhaust will be blown out when it starts up. i agree with not putting them on gassers!

    • @AQLandscaping
      @AQLandscaping 9 років тому +2

      It doesn't give an exhaust leak trust me you don't notice it at all. Blowing the water out just gets to a point where its obnoxious because little black dots get on everything, especially depending what color truck you have, that's a pain in the ass.

    • @TheRustiestShackleford
      @TheRustiestShackleford 9 років тому +3

      You use flex pipe to let the water drain or you do what I prefer and put rain caps on them, they're closed when the truck isn't running and the exhaust pressure opens them automatically when its running
      And they don't put them on gassers because it's gay
